ONE?!

"alright, get into partners, everyone," one of the staff members instructed. almost instantly, sakura and soobin made eye contact, walking towards each other. they stood tall and more intimidating than the two other groups of pairs.

the duo weren't paying attention at all when the rules were being said. hell, they didn't even know what game they were tasked with playing. not like they were planning on trying anyway.

they quickly picked up what they were supposed to be doing as they watched the pairs go before them. they had to do the same gesture after being given a word. they went in confident, considering the two groups before them were.... not doing too good.

they completely flunked the first round. whenever they were given an easy word, one of the two would do the exact opposite. for example, once the staff saw how terrible they were doing they gave them two simple words, "thumbs up." soobin put his thumbs down.

"are you guys even trying?" beomgyu asked with a straight face. the two made silent eye contact, held it for a second, and burst out into laughter. "what do you mean?! we're trying really hard!" sakura defended, and soobin nodded along.

the pair went back to their initial position, surprised they hadn't been disqualified yet. it was obvious they were just there to laugh. as the second pair game got introduced, the two held back their smiles, knowing what was about to ensue.

they were supposed to throw an arrow into a thin bucket while simply being held by their partner. it was inevitable, they would one hundred percent drop the other. it didn't matter who was holding who, they were both weak as hell.

within soobin's first few seconds of holding sakura, she had fallen. she landed with a quiet grunt, which was quickly masked by her laughter. she head soobin begin laughing at her. even though she was in slight pain, she was definitely having fun. and that's all that matters, right?

TWO?!

soobin looked at the bubble wrap in sakura's hands and then back at the girl. "it won't hurt," she tried to convince the boy. he sighed and shook his head. "please?" one look at the girl's desperate face, and he had to.

"fine." she clapped her hands, "thank you!" she exclaimed, immediately getting to work. she tightly wrapped her leader in hundreds of layers of bubble wrap, just giving him enough room to breathe.

the elder struggled to put her in the same state as he was, but managed to do it with the help of a confused yeonjun. the pair, both wrapped in an insane amount of bubble wrap, went right outside.

they weren't in a park, actually. they were in the backyard of a rental, way too embarrassed to do what they were about to do in public. "okay, i'll count to three," she warned.

when she got to three, the duo ran at each other as fast they could. they crashed into each other and fell right back down, laughter lifting through the air. "we're doing that again, oh my god!" the japanese spoke, to which he agreed.

getting back in their original starting positions, they ran at each other once again. they continued to do the same thing, over and over again, until the girl began feeling nauseous after colliding with another person so many times.

the duo laid in the grass, the sun being covered by the shady tree branches, providing a cool breeze. they could see into the house, watching taehyun and kai prepare a meal.

the silence between the two made sakura a bit sleepy. after all, the bubble wrap was basically a blanket. she wouldn't let herself fall asleep, especially not right now as the sun beamed. she turned to the face and the boy, and as if he was reading her mind, he asked the one question plaguing hers. "wanna go again?"

THREE?!

sakura was observant. instead of speaking, she would watch. and she preferred it that way. she picked up the txt boys's mannerisms even before debut, she can tell what they're thinking by a single glance.

that's how she noticed soobin's slightly odd behavior at practice that day. if she wasn't paying insanely close attention to him, it would've felt like any other day. but she knew him. better than anyone else.

as work came to an end and the members began filing out of the dance room, she called for soobin to stop. he turned to her almost instantly, and he saw her eyes soften. he attempted a smile. "what's up?"

she sighed, before answering his question. not like she could anyway, as he began questioning her more. "do you need help with that one move? i can teach it you, don't worry! oh, is it that you're worried about vocals? you sound great! no, is it-" she stopped him with a single question.

"are you okay? like mental health wise?" he didn't know what to say, he didn't know the answer. "i," he breathed in, "i don't know," was all he could get out, was he doing okay mentally? the answer was an assumed no. but he was her leader, he couldn't do this to her. he had to do what a good leader would do.

"it's not your burden to carry, sakura, i-" she cut him off. "you will never, ever, be a burden. never." he swallowed and looked down. she heard his breath get a tiny bit shallower. she began to speak.

"i don't know what you're going through, but i do know you're going to get through it. i know some of your yesterdays were terribly hard, and i'm so proud of you for still being here. i'm proud of you for doing your best to be okay. i'm proud of you for waking up everyday and trying. i hope you know you are worthy of everything. you're worthy of your wildest dreams. keep fighting, soobin-ah. it's worth it."

he was silent. somehow she knew exactly what he needed to hear. he didn't know what to do. he went in for a tight hug. she whispered into his ear, "thank you for being the person who makes me and other people feel okay when they're really not. earth is a better and kinder place because you're in it."

FOUR?!
TW!! mentions of suicide !!!

she didn't want it to get this bad. but she did. she promised herself one day she would open up, let everyone know just how bad she was actually doing. but she never got the courage. her presence was already annoying enough.

that's how she got this point, having probably what was one of the worse crying sessions of her life. her body shook without a break, and her tears wouldn't stop, no matter how much she wanted them to. she had no way out.

she didn't even hear the soft knocks and call of her name from the door. neither did she hear the door open, and only realized someone had caught her once she noticed their figure right in front of her. soobin.

his lips parted and he breathed in. she tried to stop her violent shakes and loud cries, but she couldn't. "what's wrong, sakura?" he whispered, clueless as to what to do. "why-why are you crying?" she didn't know. she had lost the reason she was crying ages ago.

her lips opened to speak but only cries came out. "can i hug you?" she nodded, watching him crawl next to her on her bed. she let his arms wrap around her small frame. it did almost nothing to calm down her tears.

"i wish i was dead," she mumbled. "could you repeat that please...? i didn't hear you, i'm sorry," he responded, his words half muffled into her hair. "i wish i was dead, soobin," she cried out, much louder this time.

"n-no, sakura, don't say that-" "i'm so sorry, soobin, i'm so fucking sorry," she continued to cry. "i just want to die. i pray everyday that god will just kill me. i just want to die. there's no way out. i wish i was dead."

she continued to repeat the same thing, despite soobin's attempts at comforting her. "please, sakura. don't say that," he begged. for the first time since he entered her room, she looked at his eyes. she stopped. "i-i know it's hard to believe, but you belong here, in this world, in this group. no matter how much darkness you're carrying. i love you."

FIVE?!

they were in the suburbs of a random district of korea. the duo couldn't tell anyone where the hell they were even if they tried. they weren't scared, however, they would be able to find their way home.

the sky was turning from a light blue to a slight orange. the sun still shined bright, just not as much as earlier that day. both of them were on separate bicycles, riding side by side. the wind kissed her cheeks, her hair flowing behind her.

it was silent other than the soft music coming from the speaker in the boy's front basket. her breath pushed with the beat of the song, and she looked to the elder. he gave her a small smile, and began to accelerate.

she knew what this meant, a race. she pushed the pedals with much more force, and gained some distance from the boy. she began to slow down, confident that she would win. but she let out a gasp as the elder zoomed past her.

she wanted to catch up to him, but she didn't have the energy to speed up. she tried her best, and got a few paces behind him. he slowed down to wait for her, "you're so slow!" he teased. she rolled her eyes, "you're just fast."

he giggled quietly, waiting once more for her to begin cycling next to him. as she caught up, the pair got back in sync, riding their bikes at a comfortable pace. the sky was now more orange than it was blue, and a shade of pink was beginning to appear as well.

it was exactly what she needed, just a day out to watch the sunset and relax as the wind blows. they fell into a familiar comfortable silence, once more the only sound became the music. a river on the other side of the road began to appear.

she felt so free. she felt like she was floating in the sky, the wind blowing her side to side. she looked back at her leader, her amazing, talented, leader. she realized she wouldn't rather be doing this with anyone else.
