day three of bookmas

Joshua Quint had known loss his entire life, his mother had died the second he was born. He was raised by his father who spent half of his childhood getting drunk and leaving him all alone.

Being the only kid of his neighbor who was forced to stay inside all the time, he tended to isolate himself away from strangers who tried to help him.

He wasn't allowed to open the door to anyone, yet somehow he managed to accidentally let a girl into his house. Tara Carpenter knew the hardships of having absent parents, her father left and that led to her mother becoming an alcoholic.

Her sister left and all she had was herself and a few friends who would make fun of her mother. She didn't enjoy the company of others whenever they would bring up her family. With Joshua it was easy, they'd sit in silence for so many hours and then they'd part ways. He enjoyed her company the most, because it meant he wasn't alone all the time.

He knew his father wouldn't come back, if he did he'd ignore him and dive back into bottles. Joshua spent every second he could with Tara, because he had no one else in town who cared enough to see him.

When he gets a call saying she was attacked he makes it his priority to figure out who attacked her. He doesn't even care that the blame is being pinned on him, all because he just so happens to know Tara.

Sure they never really told others they were best friends, they were each other's little secret, a place to hide when things got tough with life.

Joshua would solve this mystery himself, and if by the end he somehow got framed, then he knew Tara would help him in a heartbeat. He just needed to make sure he didn't get killed along the way.

I didn't feel like making gifs for this... not gonna lie I'm sleepy lol and right when I was going to bed I remembered bookmas. I panicked but I still managed to put this masterpiece together in like twenty minutes, maybe when I have more energy I'll add gifs to this, but for now it'll be plain. Ain't no way I'm missing my streak for bookmas, we're on day 3 so I definitely can't just stop. I promise this is deadass the last scream fic im making for a long while, I have Corey story's but I'm gonna wait at least until I have like half of my scream fics completed before I make more, I have an obsession but if I overdo it I'll lose interest and half of these stories will sit here, I'm doing a schedule for my books next year so I'll definitely do better on completing a few. Tara barely has any fics on here just like Sam! It's crazy that people would rather do literally every one else for scream 5-6 but not these two, they're epic! Same goes for Chad and Mindy, sure they have a few fics but it's not a lot, might make some for those two in the future but regardless I'll focus on the ones I have first, I have to wake to early which is a oof for me, but hopefully after I nap and stop feeling sleepy, I'll actually start writing for the 3 books I published these last few days, making it my mission to get chapter one out for all of them, and then when it's past midnight I'll get the next book for bookmas out, it's actual not a scream fic so improvement! Anyways this is long asf my bad... gonna sleep now, enjoy! also in this story Corey is mentioned like twice and that's it.
