KAGEYAMA TOBIO

"nice game, guys!" takeda-sensei and our coach cheers as our 3-on-3 match came to an end.

it's like we're playing seijoh when we we're having our match. the tension between the two teams was like the tension when it was oikawa-san's team.

we barely even won a set. now, i can tell that whoever the player is, reo will always find a way to bring their best out of them, just like her brother.

"man. so close, yet so far." hinata whines, making me sigh.

"it was a good game. at least you got to play with oikawa-san's carbon copy, idiot.." i mutter.

with a towel on my shoulders, i went out of the gymnasium for some fresh air.

sighing, i look towards her direction. she's been here before i got out.

"good game." she smiles, fanning herself with her left hand.

"you've gotten extra better. the last time i knew, you even refuse to serve the ball, but now, you're like an ace." i compliment her, giving a slight smile.

"i guess." she replies, sighing heavily.

"something wrong?" i ask. sitting beside her on the pathway.

"nothing. just remembering childhood stuff." she answers, now with a smile plastered on her face.

"it has been a while, yet all those memories, either good or bad, are still alive." she says, making me go back to memory lane myself.

FLASHBACK

"you're practicing volleyball alone? cool!" i hear from afar, but i can surely tell that the voice was talking to me.

i mean, i'm the only person who plays volleyball alone. who else could this kid be talking to rather than me?

"there's nothing cool about practicing alone, pipsqueak." i say to her, rolling my eyes as i look onto her hands.

she's got the ball that i was supposed to run for.

"we're nearly the same height, tobio-kun! how dare you call me a pipsqueak!?" reo asks aloud.

"lower your voice, would you?" i ask as i click my tounge at her, catching the ball that she threw towards me.

"why not play with others?" she asks in such a confused tone, making me sigh and sit on the grass.

"it's hard to cope up with other players, especially when they already have someone playing the position you want to play." i explain as she sits beside me.

"i'm a setter." i inform, making her widen her eyes out of surprise.

"woah! nii-san is a setter, too!" she says, clapping her hands out of excitement.

"anyways, whyy don't you just go up to them and tell them that you want to try playing with them? you never know until you try." she encourages, but i shook my head and stood up, staring right down at her.

"wasy for you to say, you get along with people very well. we're the complete opposite of each other." i scoff.

as i said those words, she stood up and grabbed my hand, pulling me to wherever she wants to go, until she saw a group of guys of our age playing.

"hey there! this fella of mine plays alone. do you mind having him around? he plays as the setter!" she exclaimed, making me smack her back lightly.

"reo, what are you doing?" i mumble, mentally sending daggers towards her because of the sudden action.

"yeaj, sure! we always use more players!" the guy who seems to be their libero accepts.

"see? i told you! you never know until you try."

END OF FLASHBACK

"sure are the good old days." i blurt out, making her nod in agreement.

"you two doin' alright? we're about to continue practicing." tanaka-san asks, which is our cue to stand up and enter the gymnasium once again, but before we entered, reo and i did a high five and said the words;

"together, 'til the end."
