"I feel like this may be a controversial opinion, but I always felt like Regina was more of a mother than Mary Margaret and Emma ever were.  In the case of Henry, it seemed like he and Emma had more of a sibling bond than a mother/son bond.  Regina was Henry's mother and she cared about him like a son, always looking out for his best interests.  That's just my opinion."
