CHAPTER TWENTY, mission space

"Oh, I love History Class!" Adam spoke highly of the subject as him and the others walked down the stairs with a smile, before Adam then spoke up again once they reached the bottom of the staircase. "Someone is always leaving me a little piece of gum stuck under my desk." They all looked at him disgust as Chase pleaded. "Adam, please tell me you didn't."

Adam blew a bubble, making the others close their eyes in disgust while Bree said. "He did. He totally did." Emilia almost gagged, before looking towards Leo who spoke up. "Oh. Guys, don't look now, but here comes that guy none of us like. Marcus."

The three siblings smiled, seeing the boy before simultaneously calling out. "M-Dog!" Emilia sighed, weakly raise a hand to greet him as the boy and the trio engulfed in a hug.

"Wait. Hold the phone. Hold the phone. Hold the freaky-deaky phone." Leo stepped in, moving to stand in between Marcus and the others. "M-Dog?"

"Bro's call each other by nicknames." Chase told him, in which Leo furrowed his brows in question and reminded him. "Well, I'm your actual bro and you don't call me by a nickname."

Adam placed his hand on Leo's shoulder while chuckling. "Actually, we do. We just choose not to do it in your presence. Mr Tiny McLittleStein."

"Hey, Marcus, what are you up to this weekend?"

Marcus groaned at Chase's question before answering. "My Dad's out of town so I'll be stuck home alone with my Grandma." Emilia furrowed her brows and Leo pointed an accusing finger at Marcus. "Aha! You said your grandma was dead."

Emilia narrowed her eyes at how Marcus seemed to quickly put on an act. "My other grandma. But, thanks for reminding me." He sighed before throwing his arms out. "I wish I could stay with you guys for the weekend."

"And I wish you weren't a spastic sociopath with abandonment issues." Leo sassed back, before Chase moved him aside whilst telling him. "Leo, give it a rest." Emilia grabbed him, patting him on the shoulder, as she was the only one who believed him while Leo said to the youngest sibling. "Chase, none of us are safe until the FBI responds to my request for a background check on this 'M-Dog'."

"Look, Marcus, I'm sure you can stay with us. I'll just check with Mr Davenport." Chase sighed, not even realising what he said last, making Emilia whack him in the stomach. "You call your dad, Mr. Davenport?" Marcus questioned.

Chase stammered nervously. "Uh, no. Pssh. No. But you do, and I wanted to make sure you knew what I was talking about."

"Okay. Cool. Thanks, guys." Marcus said before walking away.

Emilia huffed out a breath and went to walk away only to furrow her brows as Chase yelled. "Lia, watch out!" She looked to the side of her, just to see the ball somehow changing direction into the air. She turned to Chase with raised brows before questioning. "What just happened?"

"Did you just...?" Adam asked, with his question being answered as Chase thought out loud. "I think I just moved that ball with my mind."

"I didn't know you could do that." Leo said, with furrowed brows, as to which Chase replied with the same reaction. "Neither did I."

"Man, if you can do that with your mind, I wonder what I can do with mine." Adam thought out loud, while chewing the gum.

They all smiled as Bree placed her hand on her brother's shoulder before telling him. "We've been wondering that for years."

"Chase, this is amazing." Leo gushed, as the group entered the lab. "You can move things with your mind! You're like a really cool magician. You know, if there was such a thing as a really cool magician." Emilia scoffed out a chuckle, as she stood between him and Chase, while looking around in thought.

"It doesn't make any sense. It was probably just a fluke." Chase threw his arms out as he tried to make sense of it. "I mean, it's not like everything around me is gonna suddenly start flying through the air." He waved his right arm away, widening his eyes as multiple items flew with his hand.

Emilia licked her lips, turning her head to look at Chase before asking. "You were saying?"

Bree stood up before announcing. "I'm gonna go tell Mr Davenport about this." She went to walk out the lab, only for Chase to stop her and explain his reason. "What? No, wait! If this is a glitch, and Mr Davenport finds out about it, he won't let me go to school anymore."

"Let me tap into his cyberdesk, see if I can find out anything. Okay..." Chase moved towards the cyber-desk and began swiping through it's contents. "Ooh. Whoa. Guys, this isn't a glitch. I can move objects by manipulating the energy around them. I've unlocked a hidden bionic ability called molecular kinesis."

"Chase, I'm also gonna need you to unlock your ability to use smaller words." Adam pointed out to him. "According to this, we all have hidden abilities." He added, shocking the other two.

"What?"

"What are they?"

"I don't know, let me see." Chase then attempted to search through the other two's files only for his access to be denied. "It's shutting us out. Oh no. Mr. Davenport must have put a security lock on it. I'm sorry, guys, I guess we'll just have to discover them on our own."

Bree sighed. "Fine."

Adam gasped, looking at the others as he thought out loud. "Maybe my new ability is that I can speak Russian." He began walking away from them. "Testing, testing, is this Russian?"

"Keep looking." Emilia told him, making Chase, Bree and Leo smile in amusement.

The next day, Marcus suspiciously arrived at the Davenport home, as the guys were asking if he could stay. Eventually, Donald gave in and let him stay, however, before anyone could speak, an alarm came from Donald's watch, making his eyes widen.

"What is that?" Marcus curiously asked, peering over his shoulder. "Uh, that? That means it's, uh, it's happy time." Donald made up an excuse, which was a really crappy one at that in Emilia's opinion before he instructed Marcus. "How about you stay here and be happy, and we'll be happy over there."

"Guys, that is the mission alarm." Donald whispered to the teens. "We have to get down to the lab immediately. Leo, distract Marcus."

"What? Noโ€” No. No." Leo protested, whilst this made Emilia smile, glad to know she didn't have a task. "Take me with you." She whispered, watching as Chase and Donald ran out of the room.

A part of him wanted to ignore what she said, but another part of him didn't want her to be near Marcus. So, he had quickly ran back in and grabbed Emilia's hand before pulling her out the room as she lightly giggled.

After helping Donald prepare Adam, Bree and Chase for their first rescue mission in Space, the two rushed back upstairs to tell Leo. After pulling him out into the hallway, Donald whispered to his stepson. "How's it going?"

"Oh, fine. I'm distracting him with my mom's lady magazines. Turns out the chicas actually prefer a man with insecurities. Who knew?"

Emilia shook her head, furrowing her brows at her best friend before Donald told him. "Look, this mission is very complicated. I had to send Adam, Bree and Chase into space."

"They're in space?!" Leo questioned, rather loudly, making Emilia and Donald shush him before he continued. "And I'm stuck here making small talk with a narcissistic commitment-phobe who nine out of ten women wouldn't take home to meet their mother?" He looked back up at his stepfather before telling him. "I expect combat pay for this." The two boys ran back into the living room where Emilia was who then confirmed. "He's not here."

"Where'd he go?" Donald wondered, as to which Leo retorted. "He's probably up on the second floor dangling my hamster out of the window."

"Just find him and get him out of here." Donald instructed them. He went to walk away only for Leo to clear his throat and hold out his hand. The man sighed in response before pulling out some money and slapping it into Leo's hand.

"Fine. Combat pay." Donald mentally rolled his eyes before flickering them over to Emilia in question. "You're not gonna ask for some?"

"Nope." Emilia answered, before running up the stairs to see if Marcus was up there. Finding no sight of him, Emilia made her way down to the lab and saw Donald stood there looking freaked out, which she barely noticed as she went to inform him. "I couldn't find him upโ€” Ah!" Her eyes widened, seeing Marcus in Bree's capsule with an 'innocent' smile on his face as he now greeted the girl. "Hey, Emilia!"

No words could possibly be spoken, as she had no idea how Marcus got there in the first place, or if he even knew what it was.

Leo then ran in. "I couldn't find Marcus anyโ€” Oh, boy." He stopped in his tracks, seeing Marcus where he was before he was pulled out of there, asking questions. "What is this place? What are these?"

"Uh, thoseโ€” those are, Leo, tell him what those are." Donald stuttered nervously.

"Oh. Um, they are... washing machines." Leo had found an excuse to which Donald agreed with as he smiled. "Yes! These are my new high-tech industrial washing machines. Each load costs 150 quarters." Leo clapped his hands before grabbing Marcus' arm and said. "Okay, back upstairs. You little weirdo."

Marcus pulled away from him as he continued to fanboy. "But, I want to watch you work."

"No." They all uttered out to him. Donald guided him away before speaking up. "Um, actually, you know what, maybe some other time. But, Emilia and Leo, I will be back before the rinse cycle has enough space to land." He winked at the keywords, in which Leo nodded at before telling him, using the same code language. "Until you're back, I will make it my mission to control the rinse cycle. But, I think the rinse cycle might need more... of a payload." Donald grunted at him before pushing Marcus out the lab.

โ”€โ”€โ”€ ๏ฝฅ ๏ฝก๏พŸโ˜†: *.โ˜ฝ .* :โ˜†๏พŸ.โ”€โ”€โ”€

"Earth here. Commander Dooley speaking." The boy spoke through the earpiece to the bionic siblings in space.

"Leo?! Where is Mr Davenport?" Bree shouted, shocked to see Leo at the computer.

"Or better yet, where's Emilia?" Chase wondered, not seeing the intelligent girl by Leo's side.

"He had to take Marcus home. But he should have been back by now." Leo informed the trio before adding on. "As for Emmy. She's currently sleeping behind me."

"Not anymore." Emilia groaned from the floor, before attempting to get up. Leo turned back to the computer as Emilia pulled up another chair before sitting beside Leo who gasped before telling the bionic trio. "Oh, also, before I forget, I'm gonna need you to bring me back a lot of souvernirs."

"Leo, they're not going to do that. They're supposed to be focusing on the mission not want you want from Space." Emilia reminded the boy tiredly, who seemed to ignore what she said as he went on to list. "A space helmet, space rocks, space soap, a space towel, those tiny little space shampoosโ€” Shampoos, not conditionersโ€”" The auburn haired girl groaned as Leo seemed to not notice that Chase had cut him off as he continued to list off many things he wanted.

By the time, the guys had clicked back onto the monitor, Leo was still sat in the previous spot as he resumed to list off many souvenirs. "Space chocolate, space taffy, a Martian, Moon cheese, space pizza." Chase groaned before clicking back off the monitor. As Leo continued to do so, Emilia groaned, before whacking her friend upside the head. "Leo, they're not there anymore. Stop talking."

Soon enough, it seemed like Emilia couldn't get to sleep when finally Donald arrived back. "On my way home I discovered what that little red light on my dashboard of my hydrogen car means. It means 'You're out of hydrogen and you're walking home'." He grabbed a earpiece while asking. "How's the mission going? Guys? Guys? What's the status of the space station? Are you there?"

"Yup, right here." Bree answered with an annoyed expression on her face, with the boys beside her, who seemed to share the same reaction.

"Oh, hello." Was all that could come out of Donald's mouth, making Emilia give him a look before they stepped towards them with Chase asking. "Where have you been?"

"You totally abandoned us! And the entire mission!" Bree chimed in, throwing her arm out before Chase went on. "Adam floated out into space and almost became the world's dumbest satellite. And he would have, if I hadn't have stumbled upon my molecular kinesis." Once realising what he had said, Chase stammered out to the man. "Oh... also I stumbled upon my molecular kinesis."

Emilia cleared her throat, patting him on the shoulder while saying. "Nice save." She gave him an innocent smile before moving to stand next to Donald who questioned. "How did you find out about that?"

Chase scoffed out a breath. "I think the more important question is, how could you not have told me sooner?"

"Uh, Mr Davenport, what other abilities do I have? Because I vote for the ability to look into the future and see myself far, far away from all of... this." Bree wondered, gesturing to her brothers.

"Yes, it'sโ€” it's true, you all have abilities you don't know about. But, I can't tell you what they are or when they'll appear."

"Why not?" Adam wondered, shrugging his shoulders, as to which Donald said. "Because, I don't know what they all are or when they'll appear." He went to walk off as Chase furrowed his brows in question. "What do you mean you don't know?"

"Look, there are certain things I can't tell you right now, but it's for your own good. Strange things will continue to happen, and I promise eventually I will give you the answers you're looking for. But for now, you just have to trust me." Donald explained.

"But Mr Davenportโ€”" Chase went on to say something but Donald interrupted him. "Please, I need you to trust me. And you have to be careful who you allow into your lives. We had a close call today. Marcus found the lab."

"What?" Chase asked in shock, as to which Emilia hummed before Leo stood up from the chair and bragged. "Hmm, who would have guessed that Marcus coming here would lead to bad things? I'd tell you. It's Mr Tiny McLittleStein! Right here!"

Emilia snickered, before Donald sighed. "We're just lucky I came down when I did, or he could discovered all of secrets."

The next morning, the group were crowded around the cyberdesk excluding Chase who was elsewhere, when Adam stood around. "Thank you all for coming. I have a very important announcement to make. I have discovered my hidden ability."

"Really?" Emilia questioned with furrowed brows, along with Bree who asked. "What? What is it?"

Adam looked at his sister with a sigh. "Check it out." He said before clearing his throat and let out a loud belch. "Super burps!"

"Okay, is this really happening?" Bree questioned, in which Donald clapped his hands in response. "All right, super burps it is."

Leo furrowed his brows. "And how do you plan on using this amazing new ability?" He asked the boy who smiled upon seeing his target. "Watch and I'll show you."

"Hey, guys, what's up?" Chase greeted, before backing away in disgust when Adam belched in his face.

"That is not bad." Leo began clapping his hands, along with Donald who chimed in. "Yeah, you might have something there."
