━━━━━━━━ 𝓜elody sat in Natasha's bedroom, her doe eyes remained on the corner of the room. The bedroom was neat, with its basic tones of neutrals, a few photos here and there of her and her team mates. It contrasted with Melody's which held a lot more colour from various drawings she had done, stuffed animals, books, and photos of her and her friends.

"𝓨ou got it?" Natasha asked the brunette who nodded with bright eyes as she carried a large box through her new bedroom door. "I'm just down the hall, the guys are on the other side." She explained as she stood by the door frame observing Melody who opened her box up and removed books. "Huh, you guys can read down there? Won't everything be - wet?" She asked earning a giggle from the brunette.

"Oh no! Our world is much like this, only underwater. My kepa's trident keeps the magic in tact for the kingdom." She explained as she tilted her head eyeing the walls of her room.

Natasha nodded, "You can paint them if you want." She said bringing the brunette out of her thoughts, "I'm sure Tony can call someone over and they can pick whatever colour for you."

"I like purple." She beamed, "What's your favourite colour?"

Natasha smiled and shrugged, "I don't know . . . green?"

Melody's brows furrowed, "I thought red." Natasha shrugged simply.

"Anyways, if you need me give me a shout, we can even do a slumber party now that I'm not the only female here." She chuckled.

Melody's brows furrowed, "What is that? A party in which you slumber?"

Natasha shook her head in amusement, "No. Well, yes. But it's more than that. You do each other's hair and nails. Watch romcoms, and devour the entire kitchen." She listed off earning a wide eyed look from the new Avenger.

"Sounds . . ." Melody trailed off.

"Cheesy?"

"Wonderful, but that too. All the endless amounts of cheese." She nodded clapping her hands, "Can we have some sea weed though instead, I've never actually tried cheese." She whispered the last part earning a nod and smile from the red head.

"I think we're going to be great friends, Mel."

"Mel?" Melody asked with furrowed brows.

"It's a nickname, like mine is Nat. Steve is Cap, or gramps. Tony shellhead or tin can, whichever." She smirked earning a giggle from Melody, "And yours is Mel, short for Melody."

"Mel . . ." She trailed off, "I like it!" She beamed earning a smile from Natasha. Natasha noticed the brunette's brows furrowed as she thought of something, "Is your favourite colour green because of that man who turns green sometimes?"

Natasha's cheeks tinted scarlet much like her hair, "No! What - no, no. Bruce is like . . . a brother." She lied earning a raised brow from the brunette, "Just like Steve, and maybe even Tony. But, don't tell him I said that." She whispered with a small smirk. "And you - you're like my little sister."

Melody's eyes widened, "I've never had a sister." She whispered in awe looking up at the red head.

"Well, now you've got one." Natasha smiled softly as the brunette engulfed her in a hug.

"𝓜el?" Steve called out from down the hallway pulling Melody out of her thoughts as he entered the bedroom, his tired eyes landing on her figure that clutched onto a polaroid of the two girls and Wanda Maximoff. Steve frowned seeing her stare out the window, her button nose red as well as her eyes. "Tony and Bruce are putting the stones together."

Melody nodded placing the small photo on the bedside table.

"She's still here with us." He said softly placing his hand on her shoulder. Melody placed her smaller one over top of his and nodded. "We're doing this for her. We're going to win."

"I know-"

The two were interrupted as sirens blared through the facility.

The two stood up quickly and rushed down the hall as voices were heard from the lab where Tony and Bruce had been.

"Where is she?!" A voice demanded.

"Listen lady, we're kinda in the middle of saving the world right now." Rocket remarked his hands raised slightly above his head at the brunette before him.

"Who?" Bruce asked his large arms raised, as Tony rolled his eyes at the two.

"Ursula, take it down a notch or two." Tony raised his hands higher as they all yelled as she raised her trident higher, a golden light emulating from its tips. "Hey, hey, whoah, whoah!"

"TELL ME!"

"Muña?" Melody's voice questioned unsurely to the woman who held a silver trident in her hand pointing towards the three before her. Thor sat across the room sipping on his beer as Scott shoved a sandwich in his mouth watching the group wide eyed.

Cordelia turned around slowly, the metal trident clattered to the floor as she rushed over embracing her daughter tightly.

"I don't know what happened-"

"It worked." Melody breathed out tightening her grip around her mother who sobbed into her daughter's shoulder. "It actually worked." She looked up at Steve who smiled to himself looking down at the floor.

"It's like I was asleep then I woke up and I was in the lake. Mace's son was there, Poseidon. He told me you were here." She explained taking her daughter's face in her hands, "Your father, where is he? What happened?"

Melody's lips parted.

"Yeah, about that . . ." Tony trailed off, "You're kinda 15 years behind with everything. Um, good news. I got the gauntlet working, so . . ." He pointed behind him earning a nod from Steve.

Cordelia's brows furrowed at the man, "I can explain . . ." Melody said gaining her mother's attention.

𝓐fter the team had gotten Cordelia caught up with everything that had occurred within the last five years to not only her family but everyone in the universe, they all contemplated who was to wear the gauntlet and snap their fingers to bring back everyone.

"Who's gonna snap their freaking fingers?" Rocket inquired looking to the group of heroes who all glanced to one another in equal thought.

Thor nodded confidently and stepped towards the gauntlet, "I'll do it. It's okay."

"No, no, no, no. Stop. Stop." Steve, Tony, Scott and Clint all denied halting his movements.

"Hey, hey . . ." Steve shook his head, "Thor, just wait. We haven't decided who's gonna put that on yet."

"I'm sorry. What, were you just sitting around waiting for the right opportunity?"

"He has a point." Marina nodded to the busty God earning nods from both Marina and Cordelia.

"We should at least discuss it." Scott reasoned.

"No, no. Look, us sitting here staring at that thing is not gonna bring everybody back. I'm the strongest Avenger, okay? So this responsibility falls upon me. It's my duty." Thor rambled, clearly blaming himself for everything that had occurred and also for Natasha's death.

"It's not that . . . It's . . . stop it!" Tony hushed the large man.

"Shh! Just let me. Just let me do it. Just let me do something good. Something . . . right." Thor pleaded Tony who frowned shaking his head.

"Look . . . It's not just the fact that that glove is channeling enough energy to light up continent, I'm telling you you're in no condition."

"What do you think is coursing through my veins right now?" Thor remarked.

"Cheez Whiz?" Rhodey piped up.

Ignoring the snickers from across the room and the snide remark from James Rhodey, Thor looked back to Tony and continued. "Lightning."

"Yeah."

"Lightning won't help you, pal. It's gotta be me." Bruce concluded. "You saw what those stones did to Thanos. It almost killed him. None of you could survive."

"How do we know you will?" Cordelia inquired the large green man.

"I don't."

"But the radiation's mostly gamma. It's like . . . I was meant for this."

Cordelia nodded, "Sounds good to me." She shrugged gaining glares from the other heroes. Melody nudged her mother and shook her head subtly, "Are you sure?" She cleared her throat turning back to Bruce.

"Positive."

Once the team had settled and concluded Bruce would be the one to use the gauntlet they all stood around one another.

Cordelia looked to her daughter and smiled softly, "Are you okay?" Melody nodded, "We'll see them shortly. You'll see him."

"Are you going to kill him?" Melody whispered looking up at her mother who smiled at her daughter's words.

"Do you want me to?"

"Daor." Melody answered immediately shaking her head.

"Then I won't." She smiled earning a sigh of relief from her daughter, "I could never attempt murder on my future son in law." She smirked.

Melody's cheeks tinted scarlet, "I don't know if he would . . ."

"He'd be stupid not too." Cordelia remarked, "When you see him . . ." She trailed off as her mind drifted off to her husband. "Tell him everything you're feeling, everything that's on your mind. We still have to win this war for it to be over." Melody nodded sternly, "Also where is the trident?" She asked with a raised brow looking down at the brunette who shrunk in her spot.

"I - I lost it." She whispered in disappointment.

Cordelia sighed, "When this works, it'll find it's way back to you."

"How? It's been five years."

Cordelia slyly smiled, "It's connected to you now. You'll know when it's near." Melody's brows furrowed at her mother's vague words.

"Good to go, yeah?"

"Let's do it." Bruce nodded.

"You remember everyone Thanos snapped away five years ago and just bringing them back to now, today. Don't change anything from the last five years." Tony practically pleaded Bruce, hoping his wife and daughter would remain safe and out of harms way.

"Got it."

The team stood in position their weapons raised, suited up, ready for anything that could go wrong. Thor placed his arm out in front of Rocket shielding him, as did Cordelia to her daughter with her silver trident, Marina with her large swords out in position.

"Friday, do me a favour and activate protocol eight." Tony said holding out his shield in front of him and Clint.

"Yes, boss." FRIDAY replied as the building began to settle around them. Doors locked as did windows, incase of any supersonic blasts or energy waves.

"Everybody comes home." Bruce said to himself as the gauntlet resized itself to fit his large hand, a bolt of electricity ran through him and his body as he yelled out in pain.

Cordelia gripped her daughter's hand in her own from behind her as she watched the scene unfold before her and everyone else.

"Take it off. Take it off!" Thor demanded.

"No, wait. Bruce, are you okay?" Steve denied yelling over Bruce's grunts.

"Talk to me, Banner." Tony asked seeing his friend struggling.

"I'm okay. I'm okay." He hesitantly nodded earning a shaky thumbs up from Thor.

Bruce raised his arm in pain and snapped his fingers. His eyes rolled back as he fell to the floor, the gauntlet collided to the ground away from him.

"Bruce!" Steve shouted as they all hovered over Bruce checking him over.

"Don't move him." Tony demanded as he iced his arm with his suit.

"Did it work?" Bruce breathed out in relief.

"It's over." They shushed Bruce who squirmed beneath them.

"Guys . . . I think it worked!" Scott breathed out in awe.

Melody looked to her mother with bright smile tears breaming her eyes at the two reached for one another to embrace only for an explosion to burst through the now opened windows. The Avengers HQ building fell to the floor into nothing but rubble the heroes of the universe buried beneath it.
