I wake up slowly. I was lying in a bed. My wounds were bandaged. Where am I? I look around. Oh... I'm in Rapunzel's room. She entered.

"You're awake! Are you alright?" She asked.

"I feel better. Thanks." I say. 

"What happened to you Varian?" Cassandra said coming in. 

"Uh... well... I was working on a project and then I saw this shadow that attacked me and that's all I remember." I say.

"A shadow what kind of shadow?" Rapunzel asked. 

"A shadow with eyes like fire and wings huge. It looked like a really really big bat." I say.

They looked at each other. 

"What kind of project were you doing?" Cassandra asked.

"Uh, promise not to tell anyone?" I ask.

They nodded. I held out Variana. For some reason it was with me.

"I found this stone and also a giant skull, and I think they're connected. Uh, I don't mean to be rude, but I skipped breakfast, so... is there any food? I'm starving." I say. 

"Don't worry, I'll get you something." Rapunzel said.

"Oh wait! Don't tell my Dad about any of this." I say.

"Uhh, well..." Rapunzel said. 

"Varian!" Dad yelled opening the doors.

Uh-oh. I am in trouble now. He hugged me.

"Are you alright? Is it a bad wound?" He asked.

"Uhh, well, it's not great." I say.

He hugged me again. I look at Flynn. He shrugged and smiled. 

"Quirin, sir, I'm sure he'd like to rest. We should let the kid have some alone time." Eugene said.

He nodded. He hugged me again and left. Phew.
