MY THOUGHTS:
This is legit one of my favorite movies ever. I believe it took so long to come out because of how crazy it is and they thought it would receive an NC-17 rating. I believe Rob Zombie filmed it in 2000 and it didn't come out in 2003. It's definitely not a film for everyone like a lot of Rob Zombie's film, but I love how different his films are. They're original and fresh. There is also the devil's rejects and Three From Hell which all have to do with the Firefly Family and I definitely recommend those as well.
