I wince as I touch the scar. It's bleeding. I still have the scales.ย

"Oh, come on, it can't hurt that bad." Dorian puffs out smoke.

"It doesn't." I say.

How'd he do that? It looks almost like a bite mark. He's been around for a long time. I'm sure it's a spell. Dorian sits up again. He moves the cigar up my back. I snap my fingers, and it blows out. Dorian smirks.ย

"Come now, don't tell me you don't enjoy this." He says.

"This? This little affair?" I chuckle.

"Well... this is the deal we made centuries ago. I should think you didn't forget." He says.

"I could never forget that day." I say.

"Good. What are you so concerned about? Belle?" Dorian asks.

"She must never know." I say.

"Do you honestly think this is such a big deal?" Dorian asks.

I can't answer that.

"Look. There's no way she could love you. You do realize you're still the Dark One, right?" He asks.

"Yes." I answer.

"Well in that case." Dorian grabs my hand.

I push it back.

"I have work to do." I stand up.

"I'll be back." Dorian calls as I exist the room.
