Chapter Twelve: Toko's Tale! The Infamous Beybread!
y/n's pov:
School is finally over for the day! I dragged myself out the doors of Beigoma Academy after a very long math class.
I collapsed onto a bench and sighed. My stomach growled loudly and I groaned.
I opened my backpack and dug through to find absolutely no food inside.
I took out my phone and looked up the nearest place to find food. I found one almost instantly just a couple blocks away from the school.
I slung my backpack over my shoulder and started walking down the sidewalk.
I passed a couple houses and turned down another street. Up ahead, I saw familiar pink and turquoise heads of hair.
"Toko! Nika!" I called. They spun around and grinned when they saw me.
"Hey, y/n! What's up!" Nika replied. I jogged up to them and we started walking together.
"Don't you live in the dorms by the school?" Toko asked.
"Yeah, but I'm really hungry and don't have any food. Apparently there's supposed to be a bakery somewhere around here?" I asked.
Toko and Nika shared a knowing look. "Yeah, there is! We could take you there if you want," the twins chorused.
"Yes!!" I sighed with relief. I followed them down a couple more streets until we came up to the bakery.
"Food!" I exclaimed. I took out my wallet with some yen. "How much do they charge here?"
"Oh, I know she'll give it to you for free," Toko grinned.
"How do you know? Do you know the owner or something?" I asked, oblivious.
"Of course we do! She's our mother!" Nika replied before unlocking the door. I slapped my forehead.
We entered the house and the twins called for their mom. A woman with black hair came out through a door behind the counter.
"Welcome back you two I- Oh! You brought a guest!" she exclaimed with a warm smile. "My name is Chiharu Aoi."
"Nice to meet you! My name is y/n l/n!" I replied and we shook hands.
"I have heard a lot about you from Toko and Nika," Chiharu said. "Are you hungry?"
"Yes!!" I exclaimed and put my hands on my stomach. Chiharu took a warm piece of bread shaped like a bey out from under the counter.
I gasped. "Wait a minute," I said, looking at the bread. "Is that what I think it is?"
"That's our mom's beybread," Toko said. "Have you heard of it from someone?"
"Have I?!" I exclaimed. "When I was training with Shu he told me about how Valt would talk nonstop about this!"
"You trained with Shu Kurenai?!" Nika exclaimed. Toko laughed sheepishly.
"Oh, right! I forgot to tell you she trained with Shu!" Toko exclaimed. Nika smacked him in the back of the head.
"How was he? What was he doing? Did he hurt his shoulder again? Did he get hurt at all? How many people were at the Raging Bulls? Does he live in the training area? Have you been in his room? Do you think he's hot?!" Nika blurted.
"Good. Training. No. No. Around thirty total. I think so. No. And sort of!" I said. Everyone sweatdropped.
Chiharu handed me the beybread. I took a bite and tears started to fill my eyes.
"y/n, are you okay?" Toko asked, worried. I sobbed as I chewed the bread.
"It's so good!" y/n cried. Everyone anime-fell.
A/N: That was chapter twelve of A Blader's Love! I hope you enjoyed this! This is the last short chapter before I get into the Luinor Cup stuff. And on a different note, everyone remember to wear a mask in public. It will really help in keeping others from getting sick. Stay safe! Words: 617
