special two - another world
surprise surprise, i'm alive! ahahahaahhaah... sorry i forgot i had a wattpad. anyways, here's another "special" chapter! i think you'll like this one.
When she died, she hadn't really expected anything. No, if anything, it was a quiet acceptance.
I knew this would happen, she thought, staring blankly at her mother. Or, rather, the monster calling itself her mother.
She had never done anything particularly wrong, and neither had Tetta. That sweet boy was undeserving of this torture.
A long time ago, she had tried prayers. When her dad first left them, and then dropped off Tetta at their doorsteps, when her mom first hit her, when she first began losing all sense of herself; every time, she had prayed. She prayed desperately for somebody to save her.
Somebody, anybody, she thought even as she laid listlessly on her bed.
Prayers went unanswered. Sometimes she felt like a living, breathing punching bag.
The pain wasn't the worst, though. Pain she could build a tolerance for.
What hurt most was her mother's betrayal, every single time.
"I do this because I love you."
Is this what love is?
"I don't want to hurt you."
Then why do you?
"It's all for you."
I never asked for this.
Day after day, week after week, month after month, until eventually she stopped going to school everyday and would just show up to work. It was lucky her boss was kind, and let her show up on an irregular schedule.
(She knew the old lady saw the bruises. She let it be seen.)
Even if she was a useless person only good for a punching bag, at the very least she would keep Tetta alive. It was the bare human decency she could provide to the little boy who had nothing wrong except for being born. While she was no saint, she refused to be a monster who blamed a child like her mother.
It was another day when her and Tetta would return home. She had seen death coming, in its inevitability, in its certainty.
She felt relief, as she laid there, vision going blurry.
And in her last moments, she gave one last prayer, quiet and undeserving to be listened to.
"If I could not be saved, at least save that little boy."
Then everything went dark, and empty. It was just like going to sleep.
It was peaceful.
--
"Did it have to happen this way?"
What?
"Of course it did!"
"But it was so cruel."
"Sometimes stories have bad endings."
"I don't like that."
"You can't just deny reality- okay, well, I guess YOU can."
"What do you say, little lady? Do you want salvation?"
It was like being seen, in every way, by every atom, every cell, every thought, every emotion; anything that was once her was being reborn, and recreated, effortlessly, tirelessly. She was everything and nothing, existed and was dead, in this being's presence.
What else was there for her to say?
"Yes."
"Then I say, we bend the rules, hm?"
"Fine..."
--
When she woke up, she was in a hospital bed.
"Hm..?"
"You're awake!" a boy's voice said, and she was jostled by his quick embrace.
She stayed silent, eyes wide, calculating and wondering.
"I was so scared when you wouldn't wake up- wait, I'll call a doctor!" a woman said, running out of the room.
She looked around the hospital room, at the beeping heart monitor, to the boy that looked confusingly similar to her. He couldn't have been out of high school, she noted.
Finally:
"I can't feel my legs," she said. It was very noticeable.
"Ah.." the boy turned pale, tears at the edge of his eyes, "Your legs.."
"I also don't know who you are."
Then, the boy burst into tears.
--
Months of living in this world didn't stop everything from being confusing. For one, she no longer had legs. She was going to get prosthetics as soon as possible, but until then, she'd had to go into physical therapy to gain strength in her arms.
Furthermore, she wasn't in Japan. According to the story the boy had told her, he was her brother, and that woman from the beginning was her older sister. Or, rather, the siblings of the body she had taken over. The body of a woman with the same name as her.
One who had a terrible car accident, one that resulted in the loss of her legs.
If her theory was correct, she and that woman had died at the same time, and must have either swapped souls, or at the least bodies. Were they even in the same universe?
She had no clue. She only had one choice: to keep living.
--
Her family was better. A little brother who was mildly annoying but very endearing. An older sister who was slightly overbearing, and could be horrible at times but cared so much. A father who stayed, who would slightly scold. A mother who while not perfect, was no monster.
Life was okay.
It was a bit scary, honestly.
--
It was not as though she forgot about Tetta or her past life, but upon realizing there was nothing she could do to return, she had decided to simply continue living on in this new identity.
At least, until she researched Kisaki Tetta and found-
Well, she found, "Tokyo Revengers".
Tetta? An obsessive villain? That sweet boy? How was that possible? How was he a character? Why was she non-existent in this story? What-?
Her world was shaken.
--
"Can you at least eat something?" her little brother said. Not Tetta. Never Tetta. No, Tetta had changed. He had-
He became a monster, didn't he?
This wasn't what she asked for.
She asked for him to be saved.
"Please," the boy begged, "We don't even know what's wrong."
She didn't know, either.
--
It felt like returning to her past life. Lay in bed. Eat enough to survive. Drink water to stop her throat from shriveling up and dying. Stare blankly at her little brother. Sometimes the figures blended together, until she saw a young boy who looked like her new brother, or until she saw Tetta as a high-schooler.
Life was not okay.
--
"I know you were into Tokyo Revengers," her older sister says, scoffing, "I don't know what is up with you, but would you at least get up if I told you they were releasing a separate series?"
"..." she stared at the woman.
The woman, her sister, looked increasingly hopeless, rambling on, "I don't even know his name, but apparently they're doing a series on the villain- what's his name- Kisa..Kisami? No-"
"Kisaki Tetta," she said, getting up abruptly, "A series about-?"
"Some spin-off," her sister answered, looking brightly at her, "Come on, come and eat with me and then you can read more about it."
--
Ah, she thought, looking at the cover of a small Tetta with a smile and bright eyes, and a figure that looked just like her, my prayers were answered after all.
and there we have, what happened to the og kisaki-sister! i thought it'd be hella interesting to see her be able to see what happened to tetta, and how it affects the world she's now in.
as for those two figures dont worry abt it ^^ they're friendly.
enjoy this breadcrumb while i try to write the next few chapters and, hopefully, the end of this fic. at the very least i wanna finish this fic before the end of 2025, so look forward to that ig?
(read: this does not mean my updates will be more consistent. i'd actually expect myself to be speed-writing in december 2025 just to finish this fic. don't worry about it.)
