Today is the day of the first years participating in the UA's sports festival. The Iwase family picked up Shoto to head there. Dad is driving the van instead of a chauffeur for a limo like the usual.

"You ready for your first sports festival?" Daichi (dad) asks.

"Yeah! I'm gonna beat everyone into the ground!" Maki grins, fist pumping. "I'm excited!"

"You sound excited," dad replies.

"Your father and I will be in the stands with your brother's," Sora (mom) says. "We'll be with your father, Shoto. He said he'll be there a few minutes late."

His eye twitches. "Great."

Dad is driving everyone with mom in the passenger seat. The twins are in the way back of the van, chuckling about something as they whisper to each other. Shoto and Maki sit in the middle with their gym uniforms already on.

The students all had to arrive a bit early to get on grounds easier. It was still difficult to get inside though as the public decided to come early too.

"You two do a good job!" mom cheers as they drop them off at the back gates for students.

The van drives off after all their good luck wishes.

Maki smiles, wrapping an arm around Shoto's and tugging him inside the building. "Let go have fun!"

Class 1A gathers in the waiting room specifically for them underneath the stadium public area.

Bakugo sits at a table by himself but is soon joined by Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero. Shoto and Maki stand nearby, keeping to themselves as they prepare together. Midoriya and Mineta stand in the middle of the room, stretching and preparing. Momo and Jiro sit beside each other at their own table. Shoji and Aoyama are standing near the table where Tokoyami, Sato, and Koji are sitting. Tsu and Uraraka sit at the fourth table with Ojiro and Mina standing nearby.

Iida rushes into the room and begins to yell at them that it's almost time to go into the arena.

"Midoriya," Todoroki calls out, walking up to said boy.

The greenet turns to him. "H-Hey, Todoroki, what's up?"

Maki watches her 'to be' with a tilt of her head.

"From an objective standpoint, I think it's fairly clear that I'm stronger than you."

He flinches then slightly agrees. "Yeah," he nods.

"However," Todoroki continues. "You've got All Might in your corner helping you out. I'm not here to pry about what's going on between you two. But know that I will beat you."

"Ah, what's with all the declarations of war lately?" Kaminari says.

Kirishima stands up and moves up to the two. "Yeah, what's the big deal?" He places a hand on Todoroki's shoulder. "Why you picking a fight all of a sudden and right before we get started?"

Todoroki elbows Kirishima's arm off of him. "We're not here to be each other's friends." He turns and stalks off. "Don't forget this isn't a team effort."

"Wait a sec, Todoroki," Midoriya says, stopping said boy in his tracks to glance back at him. "I don't know what's going through your head, or why you think you need to tell me that you'll beat me... Yeah, of course, you're better than me. In fact, you probably have way more potential than anyone in the hero course. That's why you got in so easily."

"Midoriya, maybe you're being a little hard on yourself and us–" Kirishima says.

"No," Midoriya cuts him off. "He's right you guys. All the other course students, they're coming for us with everything they've got. We're all going to have to fight to stand out, and I'll be aiming for the top too."

"Fine," Todoroki grunts a bit annoyed.

Bakugo clicks his tongue.

"Me too! Me too!" Maki grins, jumping onto Shoto's back. "Let's have some fun!"

They're sent out to line up after a few minutes.

Maki listens excitedly to everything Present Mic says until they're told to walk out. She's shaking in excitement at everything going on around her. All of the classes of first years group up in front of a stage where Midnight stands.

"Now the introductory speech," Midnight says once all the first years are gathered in front of her. "Silence everyone!" she shouts, whipping her flogger whip down. "And for the student pledge, we have... Bakugo Katsuki!"

He nonchalantly moves through the crowd and heads up on stage, ignoring the little speeches around him from students.

He moves up to the microphone. "I just wanna say, I'm gonna win."

It's silent for a few seconds before all the students begin to 'boo' him angrily. Iida fusses with him, and he retorts accordingly. He walks down from the stage, shoving by Midoriya with a plain expression.

Midnight quickly takes over the mic. "Without further ado, it's time for us to start! This is where you begin feeling the pain. The first fateful game of the festival."

The spinner lands on obstacle race then everyone lines up, roughly shoving each other to be in the front before time is called to go through the tunnel.

Maki takes a breath and closes her eyes. "Here we go." She lets all the air out before opening her eyes filled with determination. Intense mode on.

One of the green lights goes down then another then all three turn off.

"Begin!" Midnight shouts.

Everyone rushes forward to get through. Shoto and Maki hang back behind them.

Maki makes the first move with a grin and stomps on the ground. The ground shakes from under all the contestants before it splits open and swallows them all.

Multiple cries resound from the depths of the massive hole. Shoto grins beside her, sending out a wave of ice to cover the top of them. The two high-five before running over everyone. Shoto uses his ice to propel himself forward as Maki rides the wind she's releasing.

"Iwase and Todoroki tag teamed to trap their competition as they make their way to the front lines!" Mic announces to everyone. "Iwase sunk her classmates into a giant hole in the ground as Todoroki made a lid with his ice!"

The robots from the practical cut off their path. Todoroki makes quick work to prop them with ice before they collapse. Maki clutches her hand and the ground beneath the robots 'feet' crack and splinter. She leaves a path open for the two to run through.

A loud explosion rings off behind them. The two glance back to see the ice shatter into large pieces as Bakugo makes his way towards them.

"You fuckers! I'm gonna kill you!"

Maki grins, breaking the ground underneath the robots to have them fall as all the other first years, that could get out of the pit and ice, chase them.

The two two-toned haired leaders make it to the second obstacle. They pause in front of the dubbed 'The Fall.'

Maki grins to herself, stomping on the ground again and making many of the risen rock platforms to sink into the ground. Many are made lower, some higher, and most crumple to the bottom of the trench.

"Iwase once again makes a move, making the next obstacle increasingly more difficult than before!" Mic shouts. "Is this allowed?!"

The one path she doesn't wreck is for Shoto, shifting it after he passes each platform. Maki flies over the fall, waiting for Shoto on the other side before running with him to the final obstacle.

The minefield.

She lifts herself up again into the air. "Shoto, want a lift?"

"I should do this by myself. He's watching."

She nods, blasting off in front of him as he weaves through the minefield on foot.

Bakugo is quick to catch up to Shoto. Maki blows a harsh wind at the explosion boy, pushing him far behind Shoto.

"FUCK YOU, you BITCH ASS freak!" Bakugo shouts.

A giant explosion, not from Bakugo, resounds behind everyone, blasting Midoriya over everyone and almost into first place after slamming his shield down in front of Bakugo to continue his ride. Shoto begins to use his ice to ride on to run under Maki who's still in the air above him. Maki sends a giant gust of air at Midoriya to prevent him from passing the two.

Maki and Shoto tie for first, Midoriya follows with second, and Bakugo gets third.

Maki sticks her tongue out at Bakugo. "Snooze you lose, loser boy!"

"Goddammit!!!!" Katsuki screams. "Fucking third?!"

The results are revealed for the winners, being the top 41. It's technically 42 though as Shoto and Maki tied. Both of all the hero course students made it, along with a pink haired girl from the support course and the purple haired gen ed kid from before.

Cavalry battle is declared the next event they have to go through. The students are allowed to chose who they want to tag along with and only two to four people can be a group. The rider isn't allowed to touch the ground or they're disqualified. Each person is given an amount of point worth and the top four teams with the most points wins. Yadda yadda yadda. You know the rules.

(For this, Maki will be replacing Momo which means she's going to Midoriya's team and Mei Hatsume will take Hagakure's place on her team. Mei will not be in the final round.)

Shoto and Maki are both worth ten million.

They get 15 minutes to form groups. Everyone immediately surrounds Bakugo, begging them to be on his team.

"Please, let me be on your team!" Mina begs.

Shoto is quick to have Maki on his, but everyone else basically steers away. Iida decides to join, and Kaminari also joins as he's rejected from Bakugo's group as he already has four people.

"Maki, you should be the rider," Shoto says. "You're the lightest. It'll also give you better range to use your air quirk."

"They will be coming for us," Iida says. "Our number is an automatic win."

Maki grins, making Iida and Kaminari shiver in fear and become silent. "I already have a plan so nobody can get to us. At least not when they're restricted to being a group."

Shoto nods. "Good."

The buzzer sounds, telling them their group gathering and planning is over.

Everyone gets their headbands and lifted up with their groups. Present Mic counts down and Midnight yells 'begin' after he reaches one. Everyone immediately takes off toward Maki's group.

Maki is quick to release a blast out from her in every direction, blowing everyone away from her group. Immediately after they all finish skidding back, a giant and deep moat like hole is revealed around Maki's group. To prevent anyone from just jumping over, if they can, a large tornado forms in the hole with Maki's group in the eye. Shoto sends waves of ice into the tornado to create sharp ice shards for extra coverage.

"Now all we gotta do is wait," Maki says as she continuously moves her hands around to keep the tornado up.

Iida and Kaminari have their mouths dropped open in shock.

"This is kinda overkill, isn't it?" Kaminari sweatdrops.

Maki's gaze shifts to him, making him immediately zip his lips as he avoids eye contact. Not that he could see all that clearly with the wind whipping his hair all over the place.

Shoto sighs. Another two have seen her true self.

Outside the ice tornado everyone figured that they wouldn't be able to get through an ice tornado and a giant hole, and decided to chase down each other.

Daichi and Sora watch their daughter with pride on their faces.

"Atta girl!" Daichi cheers, fist pumping.

Sora has her arms crossed with a proud expression. "Her training has payed off. She's stronger than I was at that age. Better control and bigger winds. I couldn't make a tornado that large until I was 25!"

Endeavor remains silent as he watches. He's stood behind the Iwase's. He also remains silent because he doesn't want to get on the Iwase's bad side. He doesn't like that Maki was the leader at this point and that she's taken over with her quirk. He'd rather see flames than ice in that tornado. If he had a rage speech now, he doesn't want to know how the Iwase's would react. They are the third and fifth top heroes after all. Them combined would easily be able to take him down.

The calvary battle comes to an end before everyone knows it.

Maki stops the tornado, it vanishing without a trace, and raises the ground back to normal.

The ranks are called out. Maki's team in first, Bakugo second, Shinso third, and Midoriya for the final group.

After that, Todoroki grabs Maki as she switches to her normal happy self.

"Come with me," Shoto says, leading them to Midoriya. "I need your support."

He pulls Midoriya aside as everyone else goes to lunch for an hour and 30 minutes.

Maki stands beside Shoto, waiting for him to speak up and wanting to know why he brought Midoriya here. Shoto remains silent as he stares into Midoriya's soul. Said boy nervously stares back. Maki sighs as she looks between the two.

"You brought me here... now what?" Midoriya nervously speaks up first. Shoto remains quiet, making Midoriya speak up again. "We should probably eat soon... the cafeteria's gonna be busy... Don't you think?" He gulps when he still gets no response and glances at Maki who looks more scary than normal but not terrifying like Shoto currently is.

"Lately, I've noticed something," Shoto finally speaks up. "The power that you possess... is a lot like All Might's."

Maki perks up feeling a new presence around the corner but remains silent about the newcomer. Why is Bakugo stalking us?

"Oh, yeah? Okay..." Midoriya mumbles out. "Is that all?"

"I've seen him seek you out multiple times to talk in private. What's that about, I don't know. Nor will I pry." Shoto pauses, looking to Maki for a split second before looking back at the greenet. "Midoriya... tell me... are you really All Might's secret love child or something?"

Maki and Midoriya blank face in shock.

Maki's cheeks puff up and begins to giggle. "Sho!"

Midoriya is still frozen.

"Well are you?" Shoto presses.

"No! No way! That's not it at all! But I guess even if I was I'd totally say I wasn't, so you probably won't believe me no matter what I bet! Anyway, I promise you got the wrong idea. And... why would you even think that about me?"

"'That's not it at all' is interesting wording," Shoto says. "It suggests there is a thing between you two that you're not supposed to talk about." Shoto watches as Midoriya's expression becomes a bit more nervous as he looks away. "My father is the hero Endeavor. You must've heard of him which means you're aware he's the number two hero. So, if you're connected to the number one hero, All Might, in some way... that would mean... that I have even more reason to beat you." Shoto goes on to talk about his father and leads into his backstory before walking off.

Midoriya and Maki stay behind for a second.

Midoriya bursts forward. "Hey, wait!"

Maki stays in her place, listening on to his declaration of 'war.' As Midoriya finishes his speech, Maki shoves herself off the wall towards where Bakugo was hiding. "So, eavesdropping?"

Bakugo freezes in his spot as Maki pokes her head out from beside him, making him jerk back. "Tch!"

Maki grins. "I knew you were here since you got here. Why you so interested in Midoriya? You have a crush on him or something?"

A tick mark forms on his head. "Fuck no! Fuck off! That's fucking disgusting! Fucking Deku never had a quirk until recently! I want to know how he suddenly got one!"

"Because All Might gave it to him," Maki simply says with a shrug.

Bakugo freezes. "...What?"

Maki breathes and suddenly her presence is overwhelmingly scary. "You must not tell anyone or else."

Bakugo feels a chill go up his back as he's frozen from her stare. "Y-Yeah. Whatever."

Her presence lightens. "Good. Anyway, that's at least what I think or maybe he knows a secret of All Might's. All Might is getting weaker. I can feel it." She scrunches her toes into the ground with a grimace. "That... time at the USJ... He was bluffing after he beat that Nomu. He couldn't move at all. Then once Cementoss blocked the view, All Might was suddenly very thin and weak."

"How the fuck would you know that?"

"I can feel with my feet. Seismic sense if you prefer," Maki answers. "That's how I knew you were here. Eavesdropping."

"Tch."

"Now," she grabs his wrist. "Let's go eat!"

"Get your shitty hand off of me!"

Elsewhere~

"Yaoyorozu, Jiro," Kaminari calls out, getting their attention.

"Uh huh, do you need something?" Momo asks.

"Well, I'm sure you already know since you're like a class rep, but they said all the girls have to wear those uniforms for the big cheer battle this afternoon," Mineta says, pointing to the ugly long nosed girls that all slightly look the same, running by in orange cheerleading outfits.

"Huh?!" Jiro screeches.

"That's odd," Momo says. "This is the first I'm hearing about it. Are you sure?"

"You don't have to believe me if you wanna get in trouble, but this is coming straight from Aizawa sensei. I thought maybe you'd forgotten, so I thought I'd remind you just in case."

Kaminari nods in agreement. "Mmm hmm, mm hmm."

Momo begins to worry. "I don't know where the uniforms are! I'm just going to have to use my quirk instead! Jiro! Hold this tray! I'm going to have to get more food to eat! Jiro, go tell the other girls and get their measurements for me!" She shoves her tray of food into Jiro's arms, making a pen and notepad which she also shoves at her before rushing back into line for more food.

Jiro sighs, setting down their food at an open table before going around to each girl to get their measurements.

After they finish eating, Maki is dragged by all the girls to go get changed into the cheerleading outfit.

"It's almost time for the last round!" Present Mic announces. "But before that, good news for everyone who didn't make the finals, since this is a sports festival we've prepared some super fun side games everyone can participate in! We even brought in cheerleaders from America to get your blood pumping!" 1A exits into the stadium. "Hold up!"

"What are they doing?" Aizawa questions quietly, looking at his stupid children.

"Looks like Class 1A is going full on fan service!" Mic announces.

Mineta and Kaminari chuckle and give each other a thumbs up.

"What?! You tricked us?!" Momo shouts angrily, waving a pompom at them. "You're gonna regret this!" Momo falls to the ground on her knees in defeat. "Why is it that I always end up falling for that little pervert's stupid schemes? I even used my quirk to make these outfits..."

Uraraka kneels down and pats the taller girl on the back.

"UGH! I hate those guys!" Jiro huffs embarrassed, throwing her pompoms to the ground.

Maki grins. "I think we all look super cute! Let's cheer everyone on during the side games! Yay! Go 1A! Go Shoto!"

A very faint blush appears on Shoto's cheeks as he turns away from her embarrassed. Small flames lick his shoulder as quickly as he pats them out.

How the matches are going to go shows up on the screen. Midnight is going to have them draw lots to see who they're up against. Ojiro decides he's going to withdraw along with some chubby short boy from class B. Tetsutetsu and Shiozaki are put in the competition instead.

After everything is done, people are shown who they're battling.

Maki is going against Iida. Iida nervously gulps. They'll be the fourth battle. That means Maki has a good two hours before her match. If she wants to watch the other battles though, probably a good 1 hour.

Shoto decides not to participate in the extra games. Maki also doesn't participate but stays to the side of the field and cheers on her class members.

Finally, it's time for the 1-on-1 battles, and the 1A girls return to their gym uniforms.

Midoriya beats his opponent, Shinso, after some struggle. Todoroki easily takes down Sero with a ridiculous glacier of ice that went far above the stadium. Kaminari gets his ass handed to him by some vine haired girl.

Now it was Maki's match against Iida. This is gonna be easy.

"Time for the fourth match!" Mic shouts. "Get ready to watch two new students duke it out!"

Maki sighs, taking a deep breath as she shifts into her more vicious self. "This is gonna be easy. No need to worry."

"He's the kid with engines in his legs... Iida Tenya from the hero course versus she's the girl that can sink you or blow you away and was placed in the hero course based on recommendations, Iwase Maki!"

She walks out onto her side of the battlefield and scoffs at Iida. "Too easy."

"Begin!" Midnight shouts.

Iida begins to quickly run towards her.

Maki grins sadistically, stomping on the ground. The earth on the stage cracks into billions of pieces, making it harder for Iida to run on.

"You're fast, but not fast enough!" Maki shouts, slapping her hands down in the air. The ground sinks beneath Iida as well as a strong air pressure pushes him into the ground.

The crowd goes completely silent.

Midnight breaks through the silence with a few words. "Iida? Iida, can you move?"

Maki already knows the results. "I win."

Midnight holds a hand out for Maki from making a further move. She gestures to Cementoss to use his quirk to pull Iida out. Iida's knocked out from a hit of rock to his temple.

"Iwase Maki is the winner of this match!" Midnight shouts.

The crowd goes wild.

Maki returns the stage to normal before she turns and walks off, not looking back. She heads up to her class' area and sits beside Shoto.

Maki's attention is brought to Mina and Aoyama's match. She glances at Kaminari who lost against his match. I'm going against vine girl next. She should be easy enough. She gets lost in thought about different outcomes and strategies to take down her opponent.

Mina wins against Aoyama. Tokoyami quickly gets Momo out. Kirishima and Tetsutetsu end up in a draw. Bakugo ends up winning against Uraraka but by a hair. They have to wait for the stage to be remade again.

"Good luck, Sho!" she smiles up at him as he gets up to leave.

He gives her a nod before leaving for his upcoming match.

Kirishima and Tetsutetsu arrive on the field and have an arm-wrestling match to determine the winner for their match. Kirishima takes the win.

Shoto and Midoriya's fight is next. Her eyes zero in on Shoto as he enters the field.

The battle starts and Midoriya manages to break three fingers by blasting Shoto's ice away.

"Ah, no, crap!" Kirishima comes running up, stopping next to Bakugo. "I'm missing it!"

"Hey, nice job making it to the second round, Kirishima," Kaminari congratulates.

"Thanks man! Looks like I take down Bakugo next," he says, grinning down at him.

"I'll kill you."

"Heh! Yeah sure!" he laughs confidently. "In your dreams. No, but seriously, it's crazy how you, Iwase, and Todoroki all have moves that blast the whole stadium. Must be pretty nice."

"Plus you don't have to pause between attacks," Sero adds.

"It's not as easy as you think, ya morons," Bakguo growls. "If you overuse your muscles, you risk tearing them apart. If you sprint too much you run out of breath," he continues, looking down at the back of his hand. "Quirks are physical abilities too. They can get worn out. You can't just use that nonstop."

"It makes sense when you put it that way. Wonder if that's how Midoriya thinks he'll beat Todoroki?" Kirishima questions, looking down at the match.

The match ends up getting so intense, he manages to get Shoto to use his fire side.

Tears form in Maki's eyes. "Sho!"

Midnight uses her sleep gas as Cementoss ends up putting multiple barriers between them, all of which are easily blown away by the final attack. Todoroki ends up the winner as Midoriya ends up out of bounds, smashed into the wall. A Midoriya sized crater indent is in the wall as he topples to the ground completely passed out.

Maki's eyes seem to shine in excitement. He finally used his fire!

The stage was once again completely ruined, so another break was in place in order to repair it. Mineta, Tsu, Uraraka, and Iida rush off to go check on Midoriya to see if he's okay.

Maki decides to go with them.

"Midoriya!/Deku!" everyone shouts, bursting through the door to the nurse's office.

"Scared the crap outta me..." Smol Might mumbles.

"Deku, are you okay?" Uraraka asks.

Maki looks at All Might in his skinny form though nobody else realizes it's him. She remains in the back quietly observing her classmates all talking to Midoriya.

"You're much too noisy!" Recovery Girl speaks up, ushering them all out. "I know you're worried, but I got to focus on surgery now."

"Surgery!" the four scream.

Maki dodges out of the way of Recovery Girl as she closes the door.

"Iwase!" Recovery Girl huffs.

Maki ignores her and makes her way over to Midoriya. He looks up at her a bit scared. She is really close to Shoto after all. He's surprised to see tears in her eyes.

"Thank you, Midoriya," she whispers out. "Thank you for helping Shoto." She weakly smiles. "I've been trying to make him see things the way he should, so I'm glad another person was able to get through to him. Maybe with two of us now, he finally realizes." She wipes the tears starting to go down her cheeks. She looks to All Might. "You've raised a good kid, All Might." She chuckles at the new inside joke.

"Raised?" he says confused before realizing what she said. "All Might?! Hah! I-I'm not All Might!"

Maki raises her feet and shows him the bottom of them. "I can feel with my feet. Seismic sense. I sensed you in this form at the USJ. I won't tell anyone who you are though. Or that Midoriya has your quirk."

"What?! How'd you possibly know that?!" All Might shouts.

"I didn't, but you just confirmed it," she grins. "I can't believe you actually gave him your power! How?! Nevermind. Not the time. Later." She leaves the room.

All Might releases a breath. "Wow."

"For the number one hero, you can be so dimwitted," Recovery Girl sighs.

Once the stage was repaired, it was Maki's turn against Ibara.

Ibara stands on one side of the field as Maki stands on the other with a sinister smirk. Ibara looks scared at her unholy looking face.

"Start!" Midnight shouts.

Ibara doesn't waste any time and sends her vines straight at Maki. She easily evades with her air quirk then sends the wind to slice through Ibara's vines. In Ibara's momentary shock, Maki blows her right outta bounds.

"Wha?" Ibara blinks, looking down to see the line. "No!"

"Iwase is the winner!" Midnight announces.

Maki cheers and skips off to the tunnel she exited from. She high-fives Mina as they pass each other.

Tokoyami and Mina appear on the field below. Tokoyami makes quick work of her, shoving her out of bounds.

Bakugo and Kirishima begin their battle. Katsuki's explosions making no damage to the red haired boy. He does end up finally overpowering him and knocking out the rock boy.

"Sho!" She runs up to him and tackles him in a hug. "You did it! You used your fire!"

He nods, patting her hair. "Midoriya made me realize that you were right."

"Well, when more than one person tell you you're wrong, I'd listen too," she responds, backing out of the hug. "You ready to see who's stronger?"

Shoto looks at her a bit sad. "I... don't think I'm fully ready to... use my fire."

She cups his cheeks with a firm glare. "Shoto."

He sighs. "Sorry."

"Use everything you got or I make you suffer," she threatens.

He gulps as he follows her down to the prep rooms.

They reappear on the battlefield and begin after Present Mic's announcing.

Todoroki gets right to it, placing his hand to the ground and creating a large glacier like he used against Sero, but this time more controlled. Maki responds by cutting through it with an air slice, blasting away all remains of the ice like Midoriya did against the dual haired boy.

"I'm sorry, love, but if you don't use your full power against me... you have no chance of winning," Maki grunts.

He sends another blast of ice, and she does the same thing as before.

"You know, I was really looking forward to this fight," Sero sighs. "They both have two quirks. I was excited when he used his flames, but it seems he's not using them again."

"Even if he used his flames, I don't think it would make a difference," Tokoyami says. "She's a terrifying force to reckon with."

Mina laughs. "What? Sweet, love to hug everyone, Iwase? She scares you two?"

Iida, Kaminari, Sero, and Tokoyami all shiver. "Yes."

"You guys too?" Tsu asks, looking at Kaminari and Iida.

Iida goes to reply but begins to vibrate, so he leaves to take the call.

Maki and Shoto continue with the same routine.

"Jeez, this feels like deja vu," Sero complains.

"Yeah, she's taking out his glaciers like you did Deku," Uraraka chirps.

"Sorry, love," Maki says before sinking him into the ground.

"Todoroki is immobilized! Iwase wins and will be going on to the final round!" Midnight announces after a few minutes of no movement from Shoto.

Maki blinks and returns to her upbeat self. "Sho!" She quickly rushes over to him and digs him up. "Are you okay?! I didn't hurt you, did I?" She observes every inch to look for injuries.

"I'm fine, Maki."

She sighs in relief. "Good. We'll have a rematch when you're ready."

He heads upstairs as Maki returns to the waiting room for the final match.

"Who's ready for the final battle of the first years?!" Mic screams, and the crowd cheers. "Both are from the hero course, Bakugo Katsuki vs Iwase Maki!"

"Begin!" Midnight shouts.

Bakugo is quick to take himself into the air before Maki can submerge him into the ground.

"That trick's not going to work on me, peacock!" Bakugo screams, keeping himself in the air with his explosions.

Maki blinks for a second. "Peacock?"

"Your hair!"

She pulls a piece of her two toned hair in front of her. Green and blue like a peacock. "Oh... smart." She shakes her head. "No matter. You will be in the ground one way or another." She lifts herself in the sky as well. "Two can play above the ground though."

She begins to whip up a tornado as she sees him blasting towards her with a howitzer impact. She manipulates the top open part to suck in the explosion and push it out the tail end right back at Bakugo. He crosses his arms in front of him as he's thrown to the ground.

"Dammit!" Bakugo shouts as he lands on his back.

Maki is quick to maneuver the ground to wrap around Bakugo.

He screams in protest as the dust and smoke are cleared.

"That's for eavesdropping when you shouldn't be," Maki grins. "Maybe I'll give you a real fight next time."

Bakugo struggles to move, but he has so many layers of rock coating his body with his hands cupping his face that he can't do anything but shout in anger.

"Iwase Maki is the winner!" Midnight declares after watching a few minutes of Bakugo struggling. "Bakugo Katsuki is no longer able to move!"

"HAH?!" Katsuki screams.

"Bakugo Katsuki is out of bounds!" Midnight shouts as Katsuki screams in frustration.

"Hey! And with that, the final match is officially over!" Mic announces as Katsuki continues to scream. "The first year champion of the UA sports festival is Iwase Maki from class 1A!"

The crowd explodes in cheers. Midnight eventually had to put Bakugo to sleep to calm his rage as Maki releases him. Maki's picture appears on the screen, showing that she's the winner.

Fireworks burst above the stadium as all the first years gather on the field after Cementoss rids it of the battle arena and makes it flat again. Maki heads underneath the stadium along with Tokoyami, Todoroki, and Bakugo. Bakugo is chained against a pole as he screams and thrashes around. His mouth is eventually covered by a muzzle to stop hearing his shouts of anger. Maki stands on the 1st place platform, staring down at the enraged explosion boy who's glaring at mainly her and anyone that gets near him. Todoroki and Tokoyami stand on the third-place platform.

"The first-year students have completed all the events for the UA sports festival. Now it's time to relax and enjoy the awards ceremony," Midnight is heard announcing from above them.

More fireworks and celebratory music is sounded, and the three platforms are raised up from underneath to the field above.

"He's acting like a feral animal," Tokoyami says.

Todoroki remains emotionless just staring out blankly in front of him. Bakugo continues to thrash, yelling as loud as he can but all that comes out sounds like a hum.

"Now let's bring out the hardware!" Midnight says. "Of course there's only one person who's worthy of distributing the awards!"

"Hah ha ha hah!" All Might's famous laugh echoes. He makes a dramatic entrance as the crowd cheers wildly. He begins to pass out the metals, giving Todoroki and Tokoyami hugs and a little chat. "And now, the young Bakugo boy." He sees him muzzled and all chained up. "Heuh... This... is a little much..." He moves and works to take off the muzzle.

Once it's off, he growls. "All Miiight... Losing and getting second place this way doesn't prove anything! Fuck this! She was just messing with me!" He glares up at Maki. "I want a real fight!"

She smugly smirks at him which enrages him further.

"In a world where we're constantly being compared to one another, there are very few who can keep their eyes focused on the top spot. You're one of them. It's not always going to be a fair battle." All Might takes the second place medallion, spreading the lanyard part of it out to put over Bakugo's head. "Accept this medal even if you have to think of it as a scar."

"I don't want that piece of garbage!" Bakugo yells.

"Come on now," All Might says, trying to put it over the boy's head.

"Get that trash off me, you idiot!"

The metal ends up in his mouth which he angrily grind between his teeth.

"And finally for the first-place winner," All Might says, stepping up onto Maki's platform. "Congrats on winning! You did an outstanding job! You deserve this!" He places the medal over her head.

"Thank you, All Might."

He gives her a hug like the first two before turning to the audience. "Here they are! The winners of this year's sports festival!" He ends up talking more and then embarrassing himself saying 'thanks for the hard work' instead of 'plus ultra.' Everyone begins to amusedly boo him.

The students get back into their school uniforms to meet up with their homeroom teachers to announce that they had the next two days off to recuperate. Bakugo angrily kept the metal clinched in his mouth.

The students are released, meeting up with friends and family that came to see them. Maki's parents walk up to her and Shoto once they see them.

"Maki!" Daichi shouts, scooping her up in a hug and spinning around as she giggles. "You did so good! I'm so proud of you winning first place!"

"You were amazing, sweetheart," Sora smiles. "The twins and Endeavor left first to the restaurant. We stayed behind to get you."

"AAAAH!"

The family and Shoto turn to the shout.

"Midoriya?" Shoto voices.

Midoriya races over with his eyes gleaming. "You guys are Tornado and Earthquake!"

That gains the attention of the other students. Many of class 1A join behind Midoriya.

Daichi chuckles. "That we are!"

"Iwase, I didn't know they were your parents!" Midoriya says, pulling out his hero notebook and scribbling things down. "But then again that would make a lot of sense. You have both their quirks and have the same hair colors. And–"

"You sure chat up a storm," Daichi chuckles.

Midoriya zips his lips for a second and sheepishly chuckles. "I'm... a big fan... could I have an autograph?"

Maki's parents chuckle and nod, signing their names in his hero book on their info pages.

Sora reads the pages about them. "You really know your stuff. We have a smart one here." She ruffles his hair. "Cute too."

Midoriya blushes at the compliments. "Th-Thank you..."

"Wow! You're life is so cool, Iwase!" Uraraka squeaks.
