Ch 2: Pacemaker

Han woke up to the sound of a monitor, a beautiful beating heart in the midst of silence. He heard the pacemaker get fainter and fainter. Though a part of him wanted to go and save the person dying on the monitor, the other part of him was happy ignoring the annoying fading alarm and slipping back into unconsciousness. His hand twitched a little.

The noise, as if seeing his action, began beeping louder and faster in bigger bursts trying to get Han's attention. Han gave up and opened his eyes. For a second, everything seemed normal, the sky mirror above his bedroom allowing him to see the sky, the feel of his pillow, and the normal laziness an average school morning usually brought. When Han was finally able to get a good look at the things around him, did the recent events fall back into his head.

Aww my hip, he whined. He turned around for a second to eye the wall that hit him. He caressed his hip and slowly dragged himself towards the beeping noise from earlier. The noise was a lot calmer than before, as if the heartbeat was at ease, knowing someone would save them eventually.

I'm probably making it sound way more heroic than it actually is. I mean, as a prince I've never done this type of stuff, I guess it's kind of good to be doing things other than sleeping and writing lyrics down. Han was always the type to be able to describe things beautifully. To paint a picture no one's ever seen before in the most insignificant of things, but as a prince, he'd always needed to be more, more than just a writer, more than just an engineer. He needed to be a prince, a ruler, a great and confident person. But what people didn't see is that Han was a great and confident person as a writer and engineer, they'd never understand, and he knew it well. But Han never let that change him for he knew that his pen was mightier than any other weapon that existed in the whole universe and that his bed was the strongest shelter that existed in the cosmos. But he wasn't anywhere near that now, so to say that he was vulnerable would be an understatement.

Han had finally neared the sound, only to discover what was causing it. He freaked out. "Oh no. Vera! Vera! Wake up!" Vera had transferred herself to an electric pad attached on the wall as her central controls. The ship's crash must've damaged her really bad, seeing that she took intensely drastic action.

Realizing that Han had finally made it to her, Vera had displayed a message to him, Would you like to activate energy saving mode? Even in this state, Vera was still able to guide him, he immediately pushed one of his arms to tap yes. Vera would now only be able to do minimum tasks to help him, but at least she'd still be there, and he could really use her around to calm himself.

As Han reached out both of his hands to grab the tablet from its section on the wall, his hip suddenly had a seizure and began stabbing him. Han's skin turned white, and he immediately rushed his hand back to holding his hip. His skin mellowed its pale color slightly. Using his other free hand, Han searched for Vera's heal option, but then he remembered Vera was on energy saving mode and that she wouldn't be able to help him. Han decided to look at the ship's schematics to see if there was anything on the ship that could help him. He found the infirmary and decided to go there. He limped to the infirmary, trying to remember it to the best of his memory, since he couldn't bring Vera with him.

On his way there, Han thought about home. He couldn't remember why he was in the pod inside of the ship, and a part of him was scared to even remember but he knew that he should get Vera up and working, once he did that, everything else would slowly fall into place somehow. He'd know why he was there, what to do to fix the ship, and how to get back home. Han was going to get back home, that's all he knew, no matter what it cost.

Han had made it the infirmary, and he couldn't help but smile. The infirmary was a sight for sore eyes after all the unfamiliarity of the ship. It was just like back home, Han would know, the infirmary was one of his favorite places, mostly because of the beds and because of not having to do anything in there. Of course, he always told people it was because of the progression and lifesaving done in the infirmary. Honestly speaking though, someone could've died in the infirmary and you would've never known that they were on the same bed you laid down in after a cold.

Since everything was pretty familiar, Han was able to find the right medicine to heal himself. A certain ointment to heal his wounds and an injection to numb the pain. He was no doctor, but he was a prince, and he'd seen his dad's wounds be treated all the time after many of his dad's stunts. He knew he got a lot of things from his dad, but it was never the "good things."

Han's dad was one of the best rulers of Patherion to ever exist, especially after he was able to stop the melting of their moon and use the heat from their sun for beneficial use, instead of the doom it was causing. Han would always hear stories about the momentous time. He'd always get excited about it too, and he'd tell his Mum that his Dad was only able to do those things because he was an engineer. But his mother always countered that his father was more than just an engineer and Han always told her that he could be too. His mother constantly smiled and agreed. Han knew his mother loved him, but he sometimes wondered if she'd really ever be proud of him. Even after all the things his mother and other people said to him, Han knew one thing: he wasn't going to fall behind. He'll be as great as his dad one day, maybe even greater. Han had ideas, and he knew people were worried about his ideas, but they really didn't need to be worried about them, Han would always help them no matter what. On second thought, they should be worried, my ideas will be so great, that they'll be too scared to admit them to the public out of fear of death by astonishment, Han thought.

After Han had patched himself up, he saw that his skin had returned its normal purple color and he was finally able to walk without his hip wishing murder on him. He went back to Vera, fast-walking because he didn't want to accidently hurt himself again. He successfully grabbed her off the wall this time and examined the tablet profoundly.

His eyebrows scrunched up, and then like a dying bird, he let out a loud groan. Out of all the little pieces for this, the most important one has to be the only one that's missing. It was a source of light and electricity but magnified. Vera needs electric power to power the parts of her system and the light was also used and converted into a power source when needed. Han pulled up the schematic of the ship again. The rooms were a bit harder to choose from, but Han decided that the hangar was the best place to go to for finding the replacement, but when Han got there, he couldn't find it, so he tried the other various rooms.

He couldn't find anything, until he checked the main deck. He found a compartment encasing millions of power sources for Vera, which would be great if they weren't all cracked from the fall. Han's head couldn't find the strength to lift itself up after that. If I can't find the part in the ship, then I'm going to have to go outside of the ship to get them...

Han's mind exploded with worry and his skin rapidly raged a pitch-black color. Han's never been on another planet before, let alone has he ever met a different species before either. He couldn't, he absolutely couldn't leave the ship. He knew he didn't have the courage in him to do that, but he also knew he couldn't get home if he didn't. Han sat down in frustration. His option were pretty thin.

Han mustered up enough courage to higher his head towards the dormant screen in front of him. He stared into the world outside his ship, the violent colors of his skin receding into a light blue as he attentively watched the sight outside. There were tall brown things all around him, and they were all wrinkled. These must be the elders of the planet. Wait a second! Ew they've been watching me this whole time, creeps. From the looks of it though they seemed asleep currently, but for how much longer, Han didn't know. Then Han noticed something, he clearly remembered that when he had crashed, the brown things had green things on them, but they were now gone. I wonder what that could mean. I stared more into the abyss of the new things on this planet and the more I stared, the more beautiful the sight became. For elders, the brown things also looked beautiful (Please ignore Jisung simping over trees).

With that, Han's curiosity sparked a bit, and he had a little bit of courage on getting out of the ship. But he was smart enough to not go out there without any knowledge of the planet, so he looked through Vera's encrypted knowledge of the ship to see if there was anything that could help him. He found something called a Geoderade. It seemed like it could help, so Han used the schematic to find the hangar in which the bracelet was.

Han had found the Geoderade, but there was one slight problem. The bracelet was at least 5 feet above his head, and what's even better is that Han is not in the condition to climb right now. I'd almost have laughed, if everything weren't so real right now, Han thought bitterly, as he positioned himself to climb the shelves in order to reach the Geoderade. The details are a bit gory, so to save your lunch and your time, what basically happened was a lot of falling, head abuse, and Han's skin was whiter than any fictional vampire ever. (No Hans were damaged in the making of this story). On the bright side, Han found a new enemy. The floor seemed to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed today and was really going after Han. But he was fine with that, the walls were getting kind of boring anyway. Bottom line, Han was able to achieve getting the Geoderade, just as he felt his hip had awaken from its sleep to continue to torture him. The Geoderade was encapsulated in a velvety green box and when he opened it, he found a turquoise crystal bracelet, with many hidden buttons on it. The buttons were crystals, but it also had picto-engineering script engraved on it very faintly. Han sat down and admired the engineering of the trinket. Whoever designed this needs to have a talk with me. That person deserves to be going places because he has great style.

Han pressed the power crystal and the bracelet silently, but brightly flashed to life. A small holographic, but metallic screen popped out of it, displaying a message. Hello, I'm a geoderade and I am to aid you through different planets. You may call me Geo. To activate my readings for a certain planet, place me on the ground.

Han obeyed the instructions and the bracelet seemed to latch on the floor of the ship, though Han knew that its sensory was more focused on the ground under the ship rather than the ship itself. After a few seconds, the bracelet displayed another message. I have identified this planet. It will take me a while to gather all the data involving this planet. The loading bar below will signify you when I'm done with the information.

Han sighed in relief. He was glad that his visit outside the ship was delayed. He's never going to pass the chance of escaping the dreadful moment. He decided to lay down for a bit, and then after his rest he'll put some more medicine on his wound. He was about to drift off into sleep, until he heard another message from the bracelet, this time read aloud, "If you are curious, Prince Han the 27th, the planet you have arrived on... is called Earth."

Earth...

The name echoed in Han's mind as his eyes close and his head sank into the cold ground of the ship's large hangar.

Filler I guess. I'm so excited to publish the rest, but you guys will have to wait and I'll also have to wait. Who do you think Jisung will meet first?
