Okayyyy, I'm backkk!!!

...

...

...

AND BYEEEEEEE!!!

ENJOYYYYY!!!!

Also, um... I need to warn you all that this story contains a bit swearing and other stuff.

As for now, there aren't any mature scenes here, and I'm currently not planning on adding them here either.

But as the story goes on, a bit might change, so even though there won't be any direct smut and all, there will still be things that are close to the line.

Young adult, you could say.

Basically, every Shatter Me reader could read this story without any problems.

(Btw, fyi, the "Shatter me" series by Tahereh Mafi is for people above the age of 13, so if you have joined Wattpad, you should technically be OK with reading this book.)

(I totally recommend that series. You HAVE to check ot out)

Sairan's POV:

I was just walking around in the forum when I saw her.

Oh no, not her again.

Anyone but her.

I closed my eyes and opened them again, wishing that she would just disappear, vanish into thin air or something.

She was the last person I wanted to see right now, I really hoped this would turn out to just be a bad dream.

Or I could be hallucinating.

Because this was not on my To-Be-Taken-Care-Of List for today.

But it was too late to hide.

She had spotted me already and was making her way towards me.

"Well, well, well...," she smirked, raising her eyebrow in a mocking way, "If it isn't Agent Shadow."

I gritted my teeth and forced myself to breathe in deeply before answering, "Agent Jewels."

She dipped her head just a little bit, reminding me that she worked for me.

Even though I was technically her boss, she just had this aura of a leader surrounding her, making everybody respect her immediately.

Her sass wasn't exactly helping me to remember the fact that I could order her to jump off a cliff anytime I wanted, and she would have to obey me.

I basically had complete power over her.

While everyone else was intimidated by my presence, I just seemed to make her more annoying and snarky.

Agent Jewels was one of the top agents of the Rebel Organization Skia Olethros, and my Dad was the founder of the organization.

Our world, as we had known it, was falling apart, with the government being really stupid and blind to see the chaos and havoc happening right in front of their eyes, so my Dad decided that it was time that someone had to do something against it.

If my Dad hadn't started Skia Olethros, the Emerald Cities would've been destroyed by now.

Agent Jewels' voice snapped me out of my trance.

"Sorry, what?"

"I said, do we have another assignment?" she asked, her voice showing no sign of her respect to her superior (which was me).

"Agent Jewels, if we have another mission or assignment that has something to do with you, we would've informed you about it, don't you think so?" I didn't bother to keep the annoyance out of my voice. My shift didn't begin until today evening, I had no reason to speak with my colleagues outside of my job. "Now, if you don't mind, I have some things I need to take care of. Please excuse me."

I turned my back to her and started walking away, but my foot stopped right mid-air, as I saw someone far away who shouldn't be here.

What the fuck?!

I must be dreaming!

Or someone slipped some drugs to me because this was impossible.

I swiftly turned back to Agent Jewels. My eyes were probably blazing with anger, considering the fact that the only color I could see right now was red.

"You. Said. She. Was. Taken. Care. Of." I managed to grit out, but her horrified expression told me that she was shocked about this too. "What exactly is going on, Agent Jewels?" I asked, my voice dripping with poison. "How come she is still alive when you assured -swore to us - that she was dead?!"

It took me all of my willpower not to strangle her, even though my fists curled tightly, my knuckles turning white.

I forced to breathe in and out, trying to calm myself down, which was clearly not working.

Get a grip, Sairan, I told myself.

"I- I don't know what's going on!" Agent Jewels' eyes looked full of panicking, and I saw her fingers pinching the back of her hand. She winced slightly as she felt the pain, but she looked at me with a clueless and helpless expression. "She was dead! I swear to God, she was dead!" She started shaking her head and looked at me, her eyes begging me to show some understanding towards her today at Skia Olethros. Tears started running down her cheek, and this was the first time I had ever seen her cry.

"Please." She whispered. "I know when somebody is dead. You have to believe me!"

"I can't." I replied, already imagining what would be happening this evening. She would be punished. Heavily. For lying, for not completing the mission successfully, for possible betrayal. "I'm sorry."

Even though I couldn't stand her, I really felt sorry for her.

Because the punishment would mark her forever.

I knew I could defend her, saying that this couldn't be possible, but I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, so I couldn't trust her completely.

"You have no proof that she was actually dead, Agent Jewels." I sighed. "I'm sorry, but I can't defend you today. You're on your own."

Just then, I heard a voice dripping full of poison behind me.

"What are you doing here, Gemmy?"

----

Anywaysssss, let's see how intelligent you are.

Guess who the person was!

And who is Agent Jewels?

Let's see who gets the right answer!

Byeee, see you in the next chapter!!!
