Brother and Sister Battle

xxx. brother and sister battle

——-

"Stop hogging the remote! Give it!" Freya complained, reaching for the remote that Juliet was holding about her head. Due to Freya's petite body, she couldn't reach it.

"I don't want to watch Friends! You always put it in!" Juliet exclaimed back.

Freya groaned, before she grinned and decided to shock her sister. Juliet yelped, dropping the remote and Freya snatched it, laughing.

Juliet stared at her sister with disbelief, shaking her head. "That's not fair. You have powers. I don't."

"Not my fault," Freya scoffed, sitting down on the couch and switching the channel.

Juliet pulled out the remote that disables Freya's bionics. "However, I'm in control."

Freya saw the remote and stood up. "You told me you got rid of it."

"I didn't. Just wanted to get your hopes up," Juliet said with a smirk and Freya quickly shot the remote with her electricity.

The remote fell to the floor, short circuiting.

Freya folded her arms, grinning. "Guess who is in control now."

Juliet grabbed a pillow and started to hit Freya with it, roughly. Freya yelped as she fell on the couch, hitting her back. Cassandra walked in the door and gasped at the sight of the sisters fighting.

"GIRLS!" She yelled angrily and the sisters stopped fighting. They turned to their mother and smiled sheepishly at her. "What is going on? You haven't fought like this since you were little."

"Juliet disabled my bionics!" Freya accused, pointing at Juliet.

Juliet smacked her arm down. "She shocked me! Than destroyed the remote!"

Cassandra folded her arms, looking back and forth at the sisters, who were glaring at each other.

"Okay..." she calmed started. "Freya, don't use your bionics to hurt your sister. Juliet, don't disable her bionics just because you feel like it. You both are to blame."

"BUT-"

"No!" Cassandra snapped, cutting them off and huffed, walking by them. "I don't want to hear it!"

"Ever since Freya got bionics, she uses them to make me feel less then." Juliet told her mother, who sighed and rubbed her face.

"I don't do that!" Freya protested.

"Yes, you do!"

The girls stared to argue and Cassandra was past her breaking point. "STOP IT!"

The girls froze and looked at their mother, who was beyond stressed and upset.

She let out an exhale, calming herself down. "Listen, we can't do anything about Freya's bionics. We have to remember that they saved her life."

Juliet shifted her weight, shrugging and sighed. "True."

"Also, Freya, try not to use your bionics unless it's for an emergency." Cassandra continued and Freya nodded, looking at her feet.

"Yes, mom," she softly said.

"You are sisters. Best friends?" Cassandra reminded them and the sisters looked at one another. "No one has power over anyone in this house.... well except me."

The girls looked at their mother, who had laughed and they raised their eyebrow at her.

"Sorry." Cassandra quickly apologized. "So... apologize both of you."

Freya looked at her sister. "I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry." Juliet apologized and the sisters hugged.

Cassandra sighed with relief, brushing her hair out of her face. "That's done. Now, what's for dinner?"

"Spaghetti."

"Pizza."

The sisters looked at one another and Cassandra groaned, hanging her head down. "Why'd I ask?"

~The Next Day~

Freya walked into the Davenport house. Chase was watching tv and she let out a big exhale.

Chase sat up, looking at her. "Hey, Rey, what's up?"

"My sister." Freya sat down next to Chase and laid her head on his shoulder. "We have been fighting a lot lately."

"That doesn't sound like you and Juliet," Chase remarked, holding her hand in his.

"Ever since I got bionics, it's been different," Freya told him, looking at his fingers and playing with them. "Douglas gave her that remote to disable them. And she feels like she's in control. Well, yesterday, we got into an argument and she disabled them. I got upset and our mom walked in. And she broke us up. Today, she got upset over the last banana."

Chase chuckled. "The last banana?"

"Yeah!" Freya lifted her head to look at Chase. "I don't know what's up with her."

"Maybe she's upset you have bionics?" Chase questioned.

"That can't be it. They literally saved my life," Freya reasoned and Chase nodded, putting his arm around her.

"Maybe she feels less than? Like she doesn't have as much power," Chase told her, rubbing her back.

"She did mention yesterday that she feels like I use my bionics to make her feel less then. So, when she was given the remote..." Freya stopped and realized. "She feels in control and powerful. Like the older sibling usually is."

"Usually is," Chase shrugged and smiled. "Not with Adam."

Freya frowned. "What?"

"Lately, Adam has been using me as his weight set, football, and jump rope. Douglas saw I was struggling and gave me a new ability," Chase grinned happily and Freya's eyes grew. "Want to see?"

"Is Davenport okay with this?" Freya asked him.

"Nope!" Chase chuckled and stood up. "Check this out."

Chase formed a blue laser bow in his hand and Freya smiled, gasping quietly.

"Cool right?" Chase asked as Freya stood up.

"It's like a glow stick!" Freya chuckled and Chase gave her a look, getting rid of the laser bow. "Sorry, it's a dangerous glow stick."

Chase grabbed Freya's hand and pulled her in, holding her close. Freya's face turned red, immediately getting flustered. His arm wrapped around her waist and Freya's hands landed on his biceps.

"What did you say?" He asked her, his voice getting dark and she stammered over her words, swallowing nervously.

"Uh..." she couldn't focus. She was too busy staring into his eyes as his minty breath hit her face. He smirked at her and Freya's breath hitched at the sight of his smirk.

He's so hot. She thought with her eyes focusing on his lips, wanting to kiss him.

"Use words," Chase softly told her, his other hand finding its way to her cheek.

"Screw words." She whispered and connected their lips in one swift movement. Chase chuckled, kissing back and the couple stood their kissing for a few moments.

They pulled away due to needing air.

"What is my laser bow again?" Chase asked, caressing her face and she giggled, flustered.

"Hot." She blurted out and then her eyes grew, realizing how easy she said that.

"That's what I thought," Chase grinned and kissed her cheek, before sitting down.

"You tricked me," Freya frowned still flustered and Chase chuckled.

"You seemed to enjoy it."

Freya huffed and sat down next to Chase, cuddling into him. His arm around her and her head on his chest.

"Can you do that more?" Freya asked, looking up at him.

Chase smiled, staring into her gorgeous eyes. "Definitely."

"Try to get me now, Chase!"

The couple looks over to see Adam walk in, encased in a plastic bubble. The couple shared a look, before Chase asked him a question.

"Adam, what are you doing?"

"I'm taunting you from the safety of my battle bubble. This way I can get you, but you can't get me. Watch." Adam uses heat vision but the bubble pops and Chase and Freya closed their eyes, shielding themselves. "Is the bubble still around me?"

Freya gave him a thumbs up. "Yep, you're good."

Chase grinned confidently as he stood up. "This won't hurt one bit."

Freya frowned Chase forms his laser bo, but she saw the door open. Davenport walked in and his eyes grew in shock when he saw Chase.

"Chase, what is going on?" Davenport asked and Chase turned to him, nervously and Freya stood up, holding her hands together with her lips pressed together.

"You and your glow stick are in trouble," Freya chuckled, patting her boyfriend's back.

Adam gasped with a chuckle. "Ooh, you're in trouble. You wanna borrow what's left of my battle bubble?"

——

Davenport has called Douglas onto the room to discuss giving Chase a new ability.

"You went behind my back and you gave Chase a new ability?" Davenport asked his brother.

"I was only trying to help." Douglas reasoned. "Look, I know you're mad, but at least I'm not trying to abduct the kids anymore."

"Huge win," Freya pointed out.

Chase nodded, putting a hand on his shoulder. "That's true. He hasn't committed a felony in weeks.

"Days." Douglas corrected.

"Days." Chase repeated.

"Wait, you gave him a new ability?" Adam asked and scoffed. "Well, don't expect a mug on Father's Day." Adam cringed. "Oh, darn, I already ordered it!"

Davenport looked at the three teens. "Guys, can you give us a second?"

"Yeah. Thanks, guys." Adam pushes Chase and Freya away gently and looked at Davenport. "Hey, don't worry. You're getting a mug, too."

"I meant you, Chase, and Freya," Davenport told Adam.

"Fine, then nobody's getting a mug." Adam rudely said and then groaned. "Oh, darn, I already ordered 'em!"

"I get a mug!" Freya smiled as the three walked away

——

Freya had pulled Chase down to the lab to apologize to Adam. She was going to watch Chase apologize to Adam, but she got a phone call from her sister. Juliet was asking her to come upstairs, which confused her.

Freya went up upstairs and saw her mom, her sister, Davenport, and Douglas.

"Hi?" Freya asked with concern. "What's up? What did I do this time? I didn't know Douglas gave Chase a new ability!"

"It's not that," Davenport said, pulling her over to the couch.

"Juliet and I had a conversation about what happened the other day," Cassandra told her daughter.

"I apologized for what I did." Freya reasoned and and turned to her sister. "I'm sorry, Jules. I don't mean to make you feel less than because of my bionics."

"You don't need to feel sorry," Juliet assured her worrying sister. "Every time you use your bionics, it makes me think of the moment we almost lost you."

"You did lose her for a few minute-"

"Can we please not bring that up?" Cassandra cut off Douglas and he put his hands up.

"But they saved my life?" Freya questioned her sister.

"I know, I know," Juliet said and sighed, looking down. "Your bionics remind me of what Krane did you."

Freya nodded, understanding her sister. "I get that. Well, i survived his attack and you survived his attack. We all good?"

"Freya," Davenport stopped Freya from getting up and she saw his concerned face. "There's something else."

"What?" Freya asked and she got scared. "What's happening?"

"Honey, listen," Cassandra took her daughter's hands. "You remember your father at all?"

Freya frowned, taken back by the mention. "Faintly? Just his eyes and his voice. But... I keep having the same dream of when we left him." Davenport and Douglas shared a sympathetic look. "It's weird. And it started when Krane got mentioned."

Freya stood up, realizing what she had just said. The four stared at her with worry as she paced the room, thinking.

"Also, he wants me to become his bionic soldier. He has it out for our family," Freya started to panic and Cassandra went up to her.

Freya froze and her mouth fell open, her body filling with fear. She started to breath heavily, the realization hitting her. Tears started to form in her eyes and her throat got tight.

"Freya?" Juliet stood up with worry. "You okay?"

Freya turned to everyone with tears. "Is Krane my dad?"

Cassandra looked at the others and Freya got impatient. "Is Krane my father?!"

"Sweetie, listen-"

"No!" Freya pushed her mother away. "You didn't tell me? You knew all this time?! Everyone knew? Except me?!"

"I was just trying to protect you!" Cassandra exclaimed to her and Freya shook her head, letting out some sobs as she turned and ran down to the lab.

"Go." Cassandra motioned Juliet to follow and Juliet ran after her.

Cassandra covered her mouth, feeling tears form and the Davenport brothers went up to her.

"It's hard, but it's best that she knows." Davenport told Cassandra.

"Is it?" Cassandra asked. "16 years of lying to my own daughter just to protect her."

"It was for the best," Douglas sighed, putting his arm around her.

"Too much," Cassandra told him, moving his arm away.

——

Freya ran down to the lab and sat in the tunnel, hugging her knees. She remembered Chase and Adam were in there and wanted to be alone.

Freya was sobbing. Her chest tightened, her face was hot, she couldn't breath right. She was panicking.

Krane's my father. Kept repeating in her head and it wouldn't go away. It was gonna haunt her forever.

Juliet rushed into the tunnel and saw Freya sobbing on the floor.

"Rey!"

"Go away!" Freya cried, hiding her face. "Leave me alone."

"Freya..." Juliet sat down next to her and put her arms around her. Freya didn't hug back, but Juliet didn't care. She would wait forever until her sister felt better.

Freya continued to cry and Juliet didn't speak. They sat together as Freya cried and Juliet shut her eyes, beginning to cry herself.

Juliet rubbed Freya's head gently, taking slow breaths in hopes Freya followed her breathing. Freya listened to her breathing and slowly followed her relaxed breaths.

"It's okay..." Juliet mumbled as she felt Freya start to relax. Freya's sobs quieted down and she slowly hugged her sister back, relaxing in her arms.

The sisters sat there, hugging.

"I'm sorry." Juliet sighed. "I had wanted to tell you. But I wanted to protect you from the pain. But I felt like not telling you is worse."

"How do you remember him? And I don't?" Frey asked her, sniffing.

"Age? You were barely 3 and were crying the whole time. I was 5 and spend the whole time protecting you," Juliet explained. "I also looked at birth certificates."

Freya pulled away and sat on her heels, wiping her eyes. "I wasn't expecting this today."

"I wasn't either." Juliet shook her head. "Now, you have answers for your dreams and why he's after us."

"I guess." Freya weakly shrugged and looked at her sister with glossy eyes. "Sorry I got upset at you."

"Don't worry about it." Juliet assured her. "I'm just glad you know. It's been killing me!"

Freya chuckled, sniffing. "I kept a secret from you, so it's fair."

The girls got interrupted by a fire extinguisher getting thrown into the tunnel.

"Ah!" The girls yelled, moving back and shared a confused look. They got up and peaked around the tunnel to see Adam and Chase fighting with their bionics and Davenport and Douglas fighting as Cassandra hid behind a console.

"What is happening?" Juliet asked.

"Brother battle?" Freya asked.

"Boys. Always fighting." Juliet scoffed.

"We are mature enough to not do that," Freya asked. "And we all know I would win in a fight."

Juliet's smile fell and she looked at her sister. "You?"

Freya frowned at her sister as they dodged another flying object. "Yes! Me! I'm bionic! I can take you down."

"You wanna go? No bionics!" Juliet challenged and Freya laughed, getting ready to fight.

"Let's go!"

The sisters started to tussle, moving into the lab. The boys didn't notice the girls fighting but Cassandra did.

"Girls!" She went up to her daughters to break up the fight, but they broke apart.

"Trying to see who would win," Freya told her mother and Cassandra nodded, adjusting her clothes.

"Oh!" She awkwardly chuckled and backed up to her hiding spot. "Continue!"

Freya tackled her sister to the floor and they started to fight again. Juliet had pinned down her sister on the floor when Douglas suddenly got blasted back to the wall and everyone got distracted, looking at him.

Chase got rid of his bo. "Wow. That was harsh."

"Yeah, it's ugly when brothers fight, isn't it?" Davenport asked them, approaching the brothers as Douglas recovered.

"Yeah, but with you guys it's also dangerous and cause you're super old and you could die!" Adam objected and Chase tilted his head in confusion at the sight of Juliet pinning Freya down.

"What's happening here?" Chase asked.

"Trying to see who can win in a fight!" Freya called. "Without bionics to make it fair!"

"As you can see I'm winning," Julilet laughed smugly.

"Not anymore!" Freya kicked Juliet off her and sat on her, pulling her arm back.

"OW!" Juliet cried and Chase raised eyebrows, impressed by his girlfriend. "Stop!"

Freya let go of her sister and Cassandra ran out as Freya got up.

"Okay! Enough!" She chuckled nervously, helping Juliet up. "Freya, you have to understand-"

"Juliet and I talked," Freya huffed, brushing her hair back. "I'm okay."

Cassandra and Juliet shared look and then at the Davenport brothers. Adam and Chase were very confused by what is happening.

"You are?" Cassandra asked her and rubbed her shoulders. "You were just sobbing upstairs. You sure you're okay?"

Freya nodded. "Yes."

"Freya, we understand-"

"Douglas, I'm okay. I promise." Freya told Douglas and Chase noticed Freya's bloodshot eyes and her tear strained cheeks.

Freya saw Chase's worried look and gave him a nod with a smile. He grabbed her hand, rubbing his thumb over her knuckles.

He was definitely going to talk to her later.

Davenport looked at Freya one last time and she gave him a smile. Davenport hesitated on moving on.

He eventually turned back to his sons. "Adam. Chase. Look, I know you two are polar opposites, but you're brothers and you have to start learning to respect each other."

Chase scoffed. "Oh, you mean like you two do?"

"Well, Douglas and I, you know, that's different!" Davenport protested and this got looks from everyone. "Look, we're adults and we've earned the right to act like children. This behavior has got to stop."

Adam nodded. "Okay."

"We get it." Chase agreed.

"Good one, Donnie. Way to nail 'em." Douglas turned to leave.

"Oh, no. You're not off the hook. You can't just go around handing out bionic abilities." Davenport berated his brother.

"But that's why they like me more than you!" Douglas reasoned.

Davenport turns around to see Adam and Chase shake their heads, but when he turns back around, they start nodding. Freya also nodded.

"Look, I know you're trying to help, but you have to let me take the lead when it comes to the kids." Davenport told brother and Freya inched her neck, looking around awkwardly.

Douglas may have given out one more ability.

"Okay, fine. I'm sorry." Douglas apologized.

"From now on, any major decisions have to go by me first." Davenport instructed.

Douglas nodded. "Absolutely. But we're gonna have to start that tomorrow 'cause... I kinda gave Freya molecular kinesis."

"What?" Everyone asked but Freya.

"Are you kidding me?!" Cassandra asked and Douglas smiled at her.

"He did!" Freya giggled and used her molecular kinesis to bring a cup to her hand.

"That's gonna be fun to have around," Juliet folded her arms. "I'll never have the remote!"

Chase felt himself smile, knowing him and his girlfriend share the same ability.

"Starting now. No more handing out abilities!" Davenport declared.

Douglas glanced at his brother and quickly admitted. "I made Bree invisible!"

"What?!" Everyone asked.

"It's true. I've been standing here the whole time." Bree's voice spoke, but no one could see her.

"Woah! Can I be invisible?" Freya asked.

"No!" Davenport denied and Freya pouted as Adam tried to catch Bree.

"Oh! Oh, I got her. I got—" Adam let go of the air he was holding. "No, that's air. That was air."

"You gave my daughter another bionic?" Cassandra ask Douglas.

"Out of the three she has, this is the safer option." Douglas defended. "She also has Chase to help her with it."

Chase blushed and Freya grinned bashfully.

"It's something to make me smile after being told Krane is my dad," Freya shrugged and Adam and Chase shared a shocked look.

"Oh. That's why you were sad." Chase nodded.

"You knew?" Freya asked her boyfriend and then looked at Adam. "You too? Everyone knew? It's a like a bad surprise party," Freya sighed, looking down sadly.

"Just know that there are no more secrets between us," Cassandra told her daughter, lifting her chin up.

Freya nodded, giving her a weak smile. Cassandra gave her a smile, before she walked out and Juliet followed after hugging her sister. Davenport and Douglas walked away and Bree turned visible, following them.

"Have fun with your new ability. Chase will definitely help you," Adam winked at Freya before running out.

The couple blushed and shared a bashful smile.
