SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22nd 1977

The day that Lily has tricked me into going to Hogsmeade with the Gryffs has finally arrived and I am currently stood in the cold surrounded by four Slytherins and seven Gryffindors.

"I feel outnumbered" I hear Evan mumble to Mallory.

"That's because we are" She hisses back.

"Relax, you guys" Pandora giggles.

"Easy for you to say. You're always relaxed" Regulus retorts.

"You look well" James comments to Lily as we wait for Sirius who is running late.

"As do you" Lily replies.

"Oh, enough" I snap, causing the eleven people next to me to look at me in surprise "I cannot possibly watch this train wreck go on any longer"

"James, would you like to take Lily to the three broomsticks for a drink?" I add.

"I, uh..." James stutters.

"It's a simple question, Prongs. Yes or no?" I rush him.

"Yes" He decides "Yes, I would"

"Lily, would you like to go?" I ask the redhead.

"I'd love to" Lily nods.

"Excellent! How marvellous for you both" I say in a sarcastically cheery tone "Now we can stop dilly dallying and actually get to Hogsmeade today"

"Where the bloody hell is Sirius?!" I then shriek.

"Relax, cub" Remus tells me, messaging my shoulders.

"Relax?" Marlene scoffs "She just fixed a seven year problem in seven seconds. Let her continue"

"You're just hoping that I'll make Dorcas ask you out because you're too chicken to do it yourself" I retort.

Marlene is flabbergasted at the verbal attack while the others laugh in amusement and Dorcas doesn't even try to hide her smile.

"Go on then, McKinnon. Ask the girl out" I press.

"Cas?" Marlene smiles sheepishly.

"Yes" Dorcas nods and the older blonde smiles happily.

"Am I done playing matchmaker now? Or does Pete fancy Reg?" I huff in annoyance.

"You're all done for the day" Peter assures me.

"I'm here!" Sirius hollers, running to us.

"Oh, thank Merlin" I speak as we start walking to the village "Where have you been?"

"Where have you been?" Sirius retorts defensively.

"Right here, were you weren't" I answer snappily.

"I was getting a detention from Minnie for running in the halls" He lies but no one pushes the subject.

Once we reach Hogsmeade Dorcas, Marlene, Lily and James all head to the three broomsticks while Sirius swings his arms around Peter and Regulus.

"Come on, lads" He chirps happily before glancing at Mary and Pandora "And ladies"

The five of them set off towards zonkos and I am left with Remus, Mallory and Evan, the four of us planning to double date.

"Are you cold?" Remus asks me as we walk through hogsmeade.

"Mmhm" I nod.

"Here, cub" He says, pulling off his jean jacket and wrapping it around me.

I smile at him widely and lean up to press a kiss to his cheek.

"Evan, I'm cold" Mallory whines from beside us.

"Same" Evan agrees.

"Would you give me your jacket?" The raven haired girl asks.

"No. I'm bloody freezing, Mal" Evan answers.

She glares at her date in anger and I share an amused smile with Remus, the both of us laughing as they bicker about the fact Mallory should have brought a coat and Evan can't control the weather.

While Mallory and Evan are ice skating on the lake, I sit on a blanket and watch as Remus carves the initials 'R + E' into the tree next to us with a small pocket knife.

"Rem?" I mumble.

"Cub" He hums in reply, not looking away from the tree.

"I know this is supposed to be sweet and romantic...but should I be worried that you brought a knife on a date?" I question him.

"Not at all. Unless you think I'm going to murder you" He jokes.

"Are you going to murder me?" I ask with an amused smile.

"I don't plan on it at the moment" He shrugs.

"Angel, Remus, come on!" Mallory hollers from the ice "Join us!"

"Do you know how to skate, Lupin?" I smirk softly.

"Erm, I had a pair of roller skates when I was eight if that helps my case" He replies.

"Were you any good on them?" I counter.

"Not at all" He scoffs.

"Then it doesn't help your case" I laugh, shaking my head.

I stand up and hold my hand out to the Lupin boy with a warm smile.

"I'll take good care of you" I assure him.

"Don't you always?" He teases and I wink at him.

Remus takes my hand and I do a simple spell to turn our boots into ice skates, coaxing him out onto the ice. He slips a couple times before managing to balance himself and I giggle at the way he holds out his arms with a terrified look on his face.

"It's like watching Bambi on ice!" Evan howls in laughter.

"You're doing great, Remus. Ignore them!" Mallory counters, thumping Evan on the arm.

"Not everyone was taught to be fluent in French, a pro ice skater and able to play three different instruments by the age of ten, mate!" Remus retorts.

"My bad, pal!" Evan snickers.

"Moons, look at me" I grin in amusement.

Remus turns his head to look at me and I hold my hands out to him. He smiles at me happily and takes a hold of my hands, allowing me to pull him along as I start skating backwards.

"You're doing so good, Rem" I coo, watching as he becomes more confident on his skates.

Without warning him, I let go of him and continue skating at a slow pace.

"Hey! You can't just let go of me" Remus panics, his body wobbling.

"Come on, you can do it" I encourage him, making grabby hands at the boy.

I watch as he shakily skates towards me, his speed picking up the closer he gets and his eyes widen.

"How do I stop?!" He yells, headed straight for me.

"Oh, shit" I curse.

The scarred boy slams into me and we are both send sprawling onto the ice as Mallory and Evan laugh at us. We both lay on the ice and Remus gently lifts his head up from my chest, smiling sheepishly down at me.

"Hi, cub" He mumbles.

"Hey, Rem" I giggle.

"Did I hurt you?" He asks in concern.

"Fortunately, no" I answer, wiping a stray eyelash off the boy's cheek.

Remus leans down and presses a chaste kiss to my lips, a smile tugging at his own lips.

"There you guys are!" James Potter's voice causes me to lift my head.

All of our friends stand by the lake side with wide happy grins on their faces and I share a grin with Remus who helps me to my feet as they join us on the ice.

"Angel!" Pandora squeals, skating right into my arms.

"Did you have fun, Dora?" I ask her.

"She had one too many sugar quills" Regulus declares with a chuckle.

I spin the blonde girl around and she hums a soft tune happily before skating away, in a little world of her own.

"Make sure she doesn't get lost" I smile softly, pushing Regulus after her.

"Yes, ma'am" He salutes me, skating towards the twirling Lestrange girl.

"Am I the only one who can't skate?" Remus mutters, wrapping his arms around me.

I look around all the skating Gryffindors and I almost agree with him until I notice James helping Lily who more so resembles Bambi on ice.

"Lily can't either" I point out.

"Well, that's a relief" The brunette snorts, watching Lily slip into James' arms.

"Come on, Moons. I'll show you how it's done" I offer him.

"Are you going to let me go again?" He pouts.

"Never" I grin.
