It took the entire party two hours to get Andrea completely settled to the point where they could treat her wounds. The only reason she had settled is because she ended up falling asleep while trying to push them off of her.
And Will managed to get the girl's wounds treated during the time that she slept before the entire party settled down. Knowing that Seven and Eleven weren't the only ones needing to rest.
Andrea's chest rose and fell as she slept. For once, not dreaming of anything. Finding herself just sitting in the darkness of her mind. Her thoughts running through her head.
The Mind flayer is back. Billy is definitely the host and everyone was at stake.
She was worried though when she woke up. She barely recognized Mike's basement as she squinted her eyes before letting out a small hiss in pain. She sat herself up from the couch, nearly letting out a shriek when noticing Will was sitting on the floor in front of her.
It seemed that everyone else was awake and trying to figure everything out.
The only thing that Andrea was focused on was that her brother and Steve had no idea that any of this was happening. They were still probably trying to plot on how to fight those stupid Russians.
They didn't know.
They had no clue what was happening. They could easily be found and killed. Steve wouldn't get killed, right? She knew he would die trying to protect Dustin. She knew Dustin would die trying to protect Steve. She was not going to lose either of them.
"Morning," Will must've realized Andrea was finally awake as everyone looked back at her.
"How are you feeling?" Mike questioned.
Andrea's eyes scanned around to everyone, her throat hurt as well as her face, "Fine," Her voice was beyond hoarse.
"We need to figure out where the adults are, Eleven said she could find them," Lucas was trying to be careful around the girl knowing she did not like being put on the side.
Andrea didn't say much, just nodding as she moved to where she was sitting and facing the group so that Will could take a seat beside her, which he did. Everyone played static to help out El, the girl taking a blind fold to place it over her eyes.
Andrea sat quietly as she watched her sister. The entire group focusing on her.
"I found him," Eleven finally spoke.
"Where is he?" Max asked as soon as El spoke.
"Woods," was her short and simple answer.
"Woods?" Lucas asked, confused.
"He's with... Will's mom," Eleven added and Will began to get worried.
The boy leaned forward as he stuttered out, "My - my mom?"
Andrea placed a comforting hand on Will's shoulder while Max asked, "What are they doing?"
"Ill... annoy," Eleven stumbled out as blood began to drip down her nose, "They're going to Ill-annoy."
There was a knock on the door as Karen Wheeler yelled down, "Mike! Breakfast!" Though, Mike did not seem impressed that his mother was interrupting this.
"Not now, Mom!" Mike turned around and yelled up the staircase, "Illinois? Illinois, like the state?" Eleven pulled the bandana from her face as she looked at Mike, "Like the state of Illinois?"
"Ill-annoy," Eleven repeated once again, the girl struggling to figure out how to say this particular word.
Andrea rose to her feet as she looked at Eleven, "Let's get you cleaned up," She whispered.
Max, Eleven, and Andrea piled into the bathroom that resided within Mike's basement. Both Andrea and Max use a wet washcloth to wipe the blood from El's face. Andrea stopped since Max took over.
Eleven started to place her fingers over the bruises left on her neck by Billy Hargrove. Andrea noticed as El's eyes lingered over to her before she looked back into the mirror.
"Does it still hurt?" Max asked as she looked at Eleven.
"Only when I talk," Eleven had a bit more of a voice than Andrea but she knew they were both equally in pain.
"Well, it's a good thing you're not Mike, then," Max stated as she grinned over at Andrea, "Blah, blah, blah, blah! And you'd be in constant pain."
The group of girls let out a laugh. Andrea looked in the mirror as she stood beside her sister. Both had matching bruises on their necks. Yet another thing that they had in common.
"She said she dumped your ass, that doesn't sound like a break," Will spoke, the boys were absolutely anything but quiet.
"It wasn't. You guys realize we can still hear everything you're saying, right?" Max yelled while all of them grinned and laughed.
A loud knock came down on the door and Mike yelled again, "NOT NOW MOM!"
"Mike, open the door," Nancy's voice was stern and Andrea was quick to leave the bathroom.
Andrea watched as Mike ran up and opened the door for the tired Jonathan and Nancy. Both coming down into the basement to explain their story of the events that they had encountered over the time.
Though, Nancy saw Andrea and was quick to pull her best friend in for a hug. The girl hugged her back before she hugged Jonathan.
"It was the same thing, the exact same thing that happened to Will last year," Nancy explained as she began to pace around, "And look at this. Look at the body temperatures," Nancy placed down a piece of paper for everyone to look at.
Will looked down at the paper placing his finger on it, "He likes it cold."
"Okay, so this crazy old woman who was eating fertilizer-" Mike began to form a story before Nancy stopped him.
"Mrs. Driscoll," Nancy corrected him.
"Right, yeah, Mrs. Driscoll. What time was this attack?" Mike questioned trying to line everything up.
"Last night," Nancy added.
"Right, but what time last night?" Mike added.
"Around nine," Nancy added and Andrea's stomach dropped.
"That's the time of the attack," She spoke, both Nancy and Jonathan looking shocked at how bad her voice sounded.
"You waited all night to call?" Jonathan turned and looked at Nancy.
Nancy looked back at Jonathan as she stammered out, "I was waiting for the doctors to run some tests."
"You weren't there?" Will questioned as he looked at his brother.
"Well, I'm here now, aren't I?" Jonathan threw his arms up as he stood there.
Nancy let out a scoff as she spoke, "Hallelujah."
"Ooh," Lucas let out a small noise.
"God, are we all having relationship problems," Andrea muttered before going to pinch the bridge of her nose.
"Wait, don't do that," Will was quick to say, causing her to pause.
"Right, thanks," Andrea let her hand fall back down, how could she forget that her face would hurt even worse if she touched it.
"Um, so, wha – what time was your... sauna test?" Nancy questioned as she winced.
"Around nine," Everyone agreed in unison.
"Well, that proves it. That proves my theory," Nancy exclaimed as she dropped her hand.
"She's flayed, just like Billy," Mike agreed as he spoke.
"Flayed?" Jonathan asked, confused.
"The Mind Flayer, he flays people. Takes over their mind," Mike explained as he looked at the older Byers, "Once they do that, they basically become him."
"If there are two flayed-" Lucas spoke as everyone came into the realization.
"We have to assume there are more," Will agreed as he sighed.
"Heather," Eleven said as she looked at Max, "Billy was doing something to her. She was scared. She was screaming. Bad screams."
"What's a good scream?" Lucas asked.
"I don't think she means screams," Andrea whispered, trying to keep it together.
"Max said-" Eleven was cut off.
"Doesn't matter," Max said, quickly cutting her off.
"I'm sorry, I'm lost. Who is Heather?" Nancy was trying to keep up but none of them knew who Heather was.
"She's a lifeguard at the pool," Max began to explain.
"Heather Holloway?" Nancy asked as her voice went high-pitched.
Everyone nodded before both teens went to the realization, "Tom!"
Everyone was quick to leave the basement knowing exactly where they needed to go next. Piling into the car that Nancy had decided she was driving. Jonathan was quick to get in the passenger seat as everyone else piled in.
It was a miracle that they all fit.
"Seriously?" Mike and Will looked annoyed.
"Welcome to my world," Will spoke as he clambered into the back, sitting beside Andrea.
"Seat belts," Nancy ordered once everyone was in the car.
Nancy backed out quickly after the click of everyone's seatbelts was heard before she began driving off. Knocking over bikes in the process.
"So uh.... Relationship troubles?" Nancy tried to break the silence of the car.
"Focus on what's at stake, please," Andrea was not wanting to talk about this, "There's no more trouble - or there won't be as long as I find Steve and Dustin once this is done."
"Oh."
And that's when everyone shut up yet again. Everyone sat in the car as Nancy drove down the road to find this damned house. Nancy whips around the vehicle to get into the driveway before everyone piled out.
Eleven opened the door so that everyone could enter. Andrea stepped through first followed by Nancy and Jonathan before the others followed in.
"Tom? Heather?" Nancy called out before getting a cold shiver, "Jesus it's freezing."
They continued to walk through the house to find any sign of anyone. Only to find nothing. Walking through the empty house, though, there was a weird odor. One that Andrea knew had to be something like a chemical.
"Do you guys smell that?" Nancy questioned.
Everyone began to sniff to see what they could smell.
"Chemicals," Andrea muttered out as they continued to walk around.
"Oh," Will took notice first.
"Oh, god," Nancy placed her hand over her mouth.
Chemicals were all laid out over the counter. It was insane.
"More chemicals," Nancy realized as everyone walked closer.
"You think they're guzzling this shit?" Jonathan asked as he picked up a bottle.
"Yeah, either that or they just went on a hell of a cleaning spree," Nancy spoke sarcastically.
"Don't touch anything, you'll have us all chemical infused," Andrea scolded them all before she trudged on.
"But last year, Will didn't eat chemicals," Max said the obvious before asking, "Did you?"
"No," Will shut that down before adding, "This is something new."
"Mr. Clarke, fifth grade. Posit," Mike began to speak as he realized, "What happens when you mix chemicals together?"
"You create a new substance," Lucas and Will spoke in unison.
"What if they're making something?" Mike questioned as he looked between the two boys.
"In themselves?" Max questioned, she was confused.
Andrea would be lying if she wasn't confused either. Why were people now beginning to eat chemicals once they were flayed? Was it something to do with killing themselves or something? Something just did not seem right. There was something missing.
"I mean, come on, if you drink this crap, it'll kill you," Max explained.
"Exactly," Andrea looked over at Max, "Maybe he wants to kill them. Kill the part of them that still lingers."
"Yeah, if you're human," Lucas explained.
Everyone then followed the sound of Andrea's voice. Finding themselves walking into the kitchen. Andrea was inspecting the foods and drinks that were left behind. It seemed Nancy had a similar idea as she crouched down on the floor.
"Blood," Nancy pointed out on the carpet.
"Yesterday, Tom had a bandage on his forehead," Nancy rose to her feet as she picked up the bloody wine bottle, "He was attacked."
They followed the trail of items, trying to see where it would lead them. They continued to walk through the rooms of the house. Following the faint sounds of light. Walking into the garage where there were ropes.
"He must've tied them," Jonathan realized as he crouched down, "They must have taken them somewhere."
"Mrs. Driscoll," Nancy realized, "She kept saying... I have to go back. What if the flaying, it's taking place somewhere else? There must be a place where all this started, right? A source."
"Somewhere he didn't want me to see," Eleven then realized.
"If we can find the source, then maybe we can stop him," Nancy looked back over at the group, "Or at least stop it from spreading or doing whatever the hell he's doing with those chemicals."
"How do we find it?" Eleven then asked.
"Mrs. Driscoll," Will realized, "If she wants to go back so badly, why don't we let her?" Will questioned.
It hadn't taken long before the rest of the group piled back up into the car. Now knowing where they needed to go, and getting there in the span of another hour.
Everyone began to walk through the Hospital. The group tried to get past but were stopped by the lady at the desk.
"Whoa, Whoa, Whoa... Excuse me! Where do you think you're going?" The lady called out as she looked at the group with her hands on her hips.
"Oh, um... I was just going to visit my grandma again," Nancy began to explain, "And - and this is my family."
Andrea had to force herself not to make any reaction as Lucas added, "Extended."
Andrea was nearly choking on her laughter, "I don't care who they are. You know the rules. Two visitors at a time."
"Yeah, but-" Nancy tried to reason.
"Two!" The lady yelled as she showed the group two of her fingers, "Girl, this child has done lost her mind. She brought a whole zoo in here."
The rest of the group but the lady stopped Andrea, "Are you alright, Hunny? That looks like a nasty gash. Maybe we should get you checked out."
Andrea shook her head, "No. I'm fine. I've already had it checked out," She lied before walking over and sitting down in the waiting area.
Mike and Lucas walked over to the vending machine trying to get candy out of it. Both placed a coin inside of it and watched, waiting for whatever they wanted to fall. Yet, the machine got stuck.
"Oh, come on, you piece of shit!" Mike began to complain and hit the machine.
Both Mike and Lucas continued to hit it until Eleven made the machine drop all of the candy, "Thanks," Mike called out while Lucas grabbed everything.
Eleven nodded at him and Andrea rolled her eyes. The two needed to learn to do stuff on their own and not use anyone else's abilities to get anything.
For the time that the two sat in the hospital, Andrea talked to Will. The two talked about whatever movie or game they had both gotten into recently.
Andrea felt odd. Looking over at Will seeing if he sensed anything. Something was not right at all. Andrea rose to her feet as she began to pace around, looking to see if she could tell if anything was flickering or just off.
But Will continued to look at his magazine eating a few pieces of candy that had been spared to him. So, Andrea figured that she was the only person who had the sense that something very wrong was happening.
Andrea used her abilities to get past the front desk. She made a run to find Nancy as she climbed up the stairs, watching as the lights began to flicker. Something was there.
"Where did Andrea go?"
"NANCY!" Andrea yelled as she reached the floor she needed to be on, screaming at the sight of the dead nurses.
She watched as the electricity rustled. She reached a room which Nancy had been backing out of and let out a scream watching as a man's body disintegrated into liquid. Bile rose to her throat as she began to throw up, Nancy patting her arm as if saying hurry.
Trying to keep herself together, Andrea followed Nancy and watched as another blob met with theirs. The thing grows and becomes bigger and into some sort of creature while the lights continuously flicker before going off.
And once the lights came back on, a loud screech erupted from the monster. Though, Andrea gave a much louder scream of fear that gave it a run for its money.
The scream that Andrea had let out which only put her in more pain before she jumped back into, "FUCK THAT!"
"Shit," Nancy wrapped her arms around Andrea.
"NANCY!" Jonathan yelled before yelling, "ANDREA! RUN!"
Andrea and Nancy both turned hot on their heels pushing against the door behind them, "DAMN!"
Andrea focused to get the door to open and it swung with a force but the thing was way too close to them by the time it got there so both slid in quickly while making a run for it. Andrea let Nancy take the lead as she used her abilities to throw things in its path to slow it down.
Newsflash, it did not slow down.
The creature began to snarl as the two ran, Andrea, throwing open a door for Nancy to enter before she followed it. A sound of sizzling ensued and Andrea covered her mouth as she gagged watching it get through the door.
"Jonathan..."
"NO! NANCY!"
"Jonathan!"
"No! No! Nancy!"
Andrea was trying not to throw up despite the taste in her mouth and the sight in front of her, She tried to hold the creature back, but it would sizzle and drip onto the floor again.
"I'm going to be sick," Andrea watched as it formed back into the creature and snarled, throwing Nancy back into the wall, "NANCY!"
Andrea focused on the creature as it got close to Nancy, the girl holding her hand out keeping it from doing anything while it snarled.
The door blasted open, knocking Andrea's focus, "Jesus!" Mike yelled.
"What the fuck," Max couldn't help but stammer.
It roared and went to get the kids and that's when Andrea got protective, "Eleven! Help?" In hopes, the two doing it together would keep it in one piece.
Both girls' hands went up as they took the creature in the air. Throwing it back and forth, up and down. Both let go momentarily and Seven moved in front of them all.
"Not my family!" Seven sneered before she threw it back out the window with such force.
Everyone ran outside after watching this happen. Everyone of the kids followed suit to get outside of the hospital before watching as it turned back into a liquid and went down the drain. Leaving bones on top of the small sewer hole.
"Oh, I'm going to be sick," Andrea didn't get to finish her sentence before she turned away from everyone and began hurling.
What the actual fuck was that thing?
