Twentieth Prompt: Sunset

It was a rather boring and quiet day.
Edmund sighed.
Lucy was with Mr. Tumnus.
Susan was with a few of her friends.
And Peter was probably somewhere training sword fighting with Oreius.

Edmund could go to Phillip.

Nah.

Sitting here and thinking about his loneliness sounded way better than socializing.

The sun was about to set and Edmund stared at it so much that his eyes started to hurt.
It was kind of a pity that none of his siblings were here but Edmund didn't want to miss it.

The clouds weren't white anymore, they shone in the prettiest pink and the freshest orange, and the sky was no longer blue, it was orange and yellow and pink and purple.

A little smile appeared on Ed's face.
It was beautiful. And it was calm.

„You didn't want to watch this alone, did you?“, Peter said behind him.
Edmund sighed.

Peter sat down next to him.
„Did you?“, he repeated.

Edmund sighed and continued to stare at the sun.

„You know that your eyes get hurt through that?“

„Are you ignoring me?“

„I'll take that as a yes.“

„Why? Because I disturbed your bubble of loneliness and forced you to socialize?“

„Exactly“, Edmund mumbled.

„That's a pity“, Peter said.
„I would've pulled a prank on Susan, but if you don't want to help me...“

That got Edmund's attention.

„What kind of prank?“, he asked, trying to sound disinterested.

Peter chuckled and when Edmund realised that this was kind of a prank he kicked after Peter and pushed him accidentally from the bench.

But that only made him laugh.

Why did he have such a good day?

Edmund sighed and continued to watch the sun.

„Can we just sit here and watch the sunset? Please?“, he asked Peter quietly.

Peter looked at him kind of surprised and said:„Yeah, of course.“

„Thanks“, Edmund said.

Peter smiled.

Edmund thought of what he could be doing right now.

Socializing or sitting here alone.

Either way, this was much better.
