It has been two days since Mami awoke from her coma and a week since she fell at Sheetal's feet.

The entire Raizada family, including Vijay and Savita, has been by her side.

Unfortunately for Mami, the fall paralyzed her, and it would take years of intensive therapy for her to regain even a little mobility in her body.

Akash was enraged at his mother rather than sympathetic to her.

Savita and Vijay questioned him in front of the entire family, and what he revealed shocked everyone.

"I can not believe you are all falling for her schemes." Everyone was stunned as they looked at him. "This is obviously a plot to gain our sympathy and prevent Papa from divorcing her...... It is not the first time she has assisted in a suicide attempt." Akash glanced at Anjali, who was taken aback when Akash turned to his grandparents. "The only difference in all of this is that her plan failed and she is now paralyzed...... I will assist if necessary, but do not expect me to sympathize with that woman..... I have more productive uses for my time and energy...... Papa, you better wake up because this is her retaliation for your desire to abandon her."

Everyone understands that Akash has become desensitized to Mami to the point where he no longer cares, and they do not blame him because Mami's actions were the result of Akash's current behavior.

It is no secret that Mami emotionally stunted Akash in order to control him, making him submissive and difficult to break free.

Siddharth immediately took charge of the investigation and returned to the mansion after driving Mami to the hospital and ensuring that she was cared for by the doctors.

That is when he discovered Mami's suicide note, but as an excellent detective, he knew there was something fishy about Mami's supposed suicide because the terrace where she was standing was too high for a person to fall off unless she had climbed up the rails or someone had thrown her off, and his suspicions were confirmed when one of the men on the case reported that the doctor saw nail marks on Mami's arms that did not belong to her.

Because the Raizadas are a well-known public figure, Siddharth had only his most trusted men work on the case.

"Boss, are you going to inform the family?" One of the detectives working on the case asked but Siddharth shook his head as he sat in his chair in his office.

"I can not say anything until I have all of the evidence pointing to an attempted murder, with no refutable evidence.....You can all leave now." Siddharth said as they all walked away, leaving him alone.

"Where were you that night Anjali?....... Your handy work is all over this because you were never a woman who wore sarees with long sleeves, but now you have been wearing them for a week...... If I find out you are responsible for this, I will not spare you and will make sure you pay for this atrocity." Siddharth returned his attention to the case with determination.

Meanwhile, at ARD, Khushi and Arnav were finalizing the designs that would walk the runway in a few days.

"You do not seem affected by any of this?" Khushi exclaimed unexpectedly, taking Arnav by surprise.

He paused what he was doing and looked at Khushi, who had her arms crossed across her chest.

"I have learned not to get involved too much in other people's lives...... She made that decision, and I am not going to waste my emotions on another selfish woman who used suicide to solve her problems and manipulate others into sympathizing with her."

Khushi was surprised by his response because he knew Arnav had always indulged Mami.

This made her wonder if she was wrong to assume Arnav was still the same Arnav she had left four years ago. Her heart told her he wasn't, but the pain she had endured wouldn't allowed her to let her guard down.

"It is strange of you to call your deceased mother selfish." Khushi spoke, and Arnav chuckled.

"But she was Khushi...... Despite my pleas, she committed suicide in front of me. She made a promise to care for Anjali...... From a young age, I knew that Anjali was more loved than I was by both my sperm and egg donors...... To my sperm donor, I was not as masculine as he desired because I preferred gardening, flowers, cooking, and reading to playing outside and sports...... To him, I was a disappointment, and Anjali, despite being disabled, was the light of his life because her birth boosted his business, whereas mine caused it to fail....... He had always blamed me for his failures in the family business since I was born, and my mother did nothing to defend me when he got drunk and yelled at me...... I adored my mother because, at the very least, she consoled me, which was the bare minimum she could have done as a mother. Millions of women and mothers are cheated on a daily basis, but how many make a thirteen-year-old take responsibility for their older sibling and then commit suicide in front of that same child?...... Over the years, I realized Ratna Malik was a selfish woman who did not care about the consequences of her actions on me, as long as I care for her beloved Anjali....... Khushi, I have lost enough because of my inability to process my emotions, so I have decided to give those emotions to those who deserve them, and Mami is not on that list...... Her own son has no sympathy for her, so how much more do I?

Khushi was surprised to hear all of this, but she understood his reasoning and did not push.

"Lulu has invited you to join us for dinner tonight." Khushi explained as she stood up to leave, and Arnav smiled and nodded.

"I will undoubtedly be there." Arnav responded, and Khushi nodded and walked out when Arnav called out to her.

She turned to face him, but with a frown, causing Arnav to chuckle.

"This is for you. " Arnav took out a velvet flat box and presented it to Khushi.

When she opened it, she was surprised to find a stunning emerald and diamond pendant inside.

"Happy Mother's Day." Arnav exclaimed and Khushi smiled at him. "

"Thank you." Khushi responded sincerely and walked out, leaving Arnav smiling.

"Khushi, I love you." Arnav smiled as his phone rang, displaying Lulu's number.

"Hello, baby." Arnav exclaimed with enthusiasm.

"Hello, papa........ I forgot to tell you something." Lulu replied.

"What does my beautiful baby want....... Your wish is my command your highness?" Lulu giggled in the background.

"I want you to bring Mama a cake, and do not forget the flowers." Arnav chuckled and to do whatever she wanted.

He hung up and sat back in his chair, smiling broadly.

Laxmi Nagar.

Shashi, Buaji, and Mami sat shocked as Payal confronted them with the truth about Khushi's parents' deaths.

She had been keeping this secret for a week and a half, but she could not do it any longer.

"Babuji, Khushi believes your love is purely out of guilt and is not genuine...... I know you truly love Khushi as your own, but she is correct in refusing to believe it...... You did not do well at all, babuji, and how can you still be married to Amma and let Buaji stay with us despite knowing everything they did?...... How could you, Babuji?" Payal questioned, disappointed, as Shashi sobbed.

"I did kick them out." Shashi's confession shocked Payal. "If you recall, before I brought Khushi home, you had to stay with Happy Singh and his family. I told you that your mother and aunt had gone to a funeral, but the truth was that I kicked them out." Payal remembered not seeing them for more than two months, until they relocated from Delhi to Lucknow......It was not easy juggling working at the sweet shop, caring for you, and an emotionally vulnerable Khushi while also keeping an eye out for those goons...... That is why I welcomed your aunt and mother back into our lives to assist me...... I know I failed to protect Khushi, but I tried really hard...... I really tried Payal." Shashi let out a cry and dropped to his knees.

Payal kneeled and cried while hugging him, but she looked up and glared at Garima and Buaji, who were also sobbing uncontrollably as Shashi pulled out of the hug and stared at Payal.

"What should I do to persuade Khushi to believe me?" Shashi inquired like a child, leaving Payal devastated as she saw him completely defeated.

Payal wiped his tears away and helped him sit down again.

"Please give her some time." Shashi attempted to respond, but Payal interrupted him. "Babuji, she is no longer the Khushi we know......" She had built a wall around her heart that would be difficult to break, and we are all, directly or indirectly, responsible for Khushi's current state...... Let us leave her alone for the time being. Time is our only hope; otherwise, if we force her, she will distance herself even further from us."

Shashi stiffened and nodded as Payal looked at him, feeling sorry for him because she knew that, unlike them, Shashi's only mistake was hiding the truth, and now he is paying for theirs.

"Payal? "

"Do not you dare call my name." Payal yelled at Buaji, who flinched and looked down, as did Garima. "You are both responsible for everything, from exploiting my insecurities to pitting me against Khushi..... You two and I are responsible for Babuji and Khushi's suffering...... The only victims in this family are Babuji and Khushi so don't you dare Buaji. " Payal warned and turned her attention back to Shashi.

She held him up and walked out to her car and they drove away leaving the women in tears.

Meanwhile, on the outskirts of Delhi, a drunk man staggered into a run-down apartment and opened the door, only to be greeted by an elderly woman laughing hysterically.

"What is so funny?" He asked, annoyed, as he slammed into the torn soft, causing the woman to give him a disgusted look, but she quickly changed her demeanor because she had good news.

"The private detective did exactly what I asked him to do." The woman exclaimed enthusiastically, piqueing the man's attention.

"What was the private detective for, and how did you get enough money to hire one? He inquired curiously, knowing that they were struggling to make ends meet.

"I sold my remaining jewelry and paid him to find all of the people connected to Arnav and Anjali that we could use against them, and he hit the jackpot." The woman squealed with delight and showed him pictures of the Raizada, Kapoor, and Gupta families. " It appears that Arnav is married to this woman. Pointing to Khushi's picture. "And this little girl is their daughter....... Anjali is also married, and the girl in the photo with Manorama is Anjali's daughter....... The other girl is Akash's and his wife's daughter, but the best part of everything is this. The woman placed a picture in front of her son, who picked it up and looked shocked to see the picture.

"Yes, Anant, it is exactly who you think it is...... none other than Garima Gupta, your brother's mistress, and guess what? She is Arnav's wife's aunt." Sudhadra Malik smirked devilishly, and Anant returned the smirk.

"We will kidnap those girls and hold them for ransom, and when we get the money, we will kill them and reveal Garima's true identity to Arnav. Knowing how emotional he is about his mother, he will be broken beyond repair for getting involved with the niece of the woman who killed his mother, and he will also be mourning the deaths of his daughter and nieces ....... "The family will never recover from this, and we will exact our revenge on them for kicking us out and killing Shyam."

Anant burst out crying when he heard Shyam's name.

"My boy has died, and all he wanted was my approval...... I should not have forced him to marry Anjali in order to inherit Arnav's property; perhaps he and my grandchild would still be alive." Anant cried, and Subhadra rolled her eyes, trying not to upset her only ally.

"Do not worry, Anant; we will get back at him soon." Subhadra assured him, and he nodded as he wiped his runny nose.

She had been living happily in Sheesh Mahal for over a decade and a half before Anjali and Arnav arrived and kicked her and Anant out.

For years, they had planned how to obtain Arnav's wealth, and the opportunity came in the form of Shyam Manohar Jha, Anant's illegitimate son and former lover at the brothel he frequents.

Shyam, desperate for Anant's love, came up with the idea of marrying Anjali and acquiring Arnav's properties for themselves, and he jumped at the opportunity out of greed and desire for his father's love, but their plans backfired, and Shyam is now dead, and they have been living like paupers for the past six years.

Sudhadra stood up and walked to the wall where her late husband's picture was displayed with a garland around it, staring at it with disgust.

"Suresh Malik, I assisted you in raising your motherless son Arvind, but how did you repay me? You slept with the maids and made a mockery of me in that palace...... When I cheated and became pregnant, you wanted to humiliate me and reveal the truth, so I killed you, and you ended up leaving everything to Arvind and his descendants....... I will never let that happen, which is why I spent years silently destroying Arvind and turning him into a womanizer like you, allowing me to destroy his family...... We were so happy until your grandson came into our lives and destroyed everything again, but now we will have the last laugh. Subhadra thought with an evil smile on her lips.

Khushi's Mansion.

Arnav arrived at the mansion, carrying the cake and a large bouquet of roses.

Khushi opened the door and was surprised to see him juggling a box of cake and a large bouquet of roses.

"Hi." Arnav approached nervously, noting the glare on her face.

"Yeah, Papa brought the cake." Lulu's voice interrupted Khushi, who was about to question him about the cake and roses.

Arnav moved to the dining table to find a table set up for dinner, but it appeared to be for only three people.

Lulu hovered over the cake box, opening it while Arnav looked at Khushi, leaned in, and whispered.

"Where is everybody?"

"Mohan arrived to pick up Kiki, Akash called to say that Mami's parents wanted to spend time with Kiki, and he was taking Payal out for Mother's Day dinner........ Preeto went on a date with Sahil."

Arnav's eyes widened upon hearing the shocking news about Sahil and Preeto.

"Wow, I did not see that coming." He responded and turned to Lulu, who was pulling his shirt. "This is for you, my Highness." Arnav kneeled and handed her a small bouquet of roses hidden within the larger bouquet, and Lulu squealed happily and kissed his cheek, making Arnav smile.

He then turned to Khushi and handed her the large bouquet, which she accepted and inhaled the lovely and calming scent of the rose, causing a huge smile to appear on her face, making Arnav's heart leap with joy to see her genuinely happy.

"It came from my garden at the penthouse." Arnav revealed.

"You made the bouquet on your own." Khushi asked, surprised, and he nodded as they sat down together. "Thank you."

"Thanks, Papa." Lulu's voice distracted Arnav from Khushi, and he kissed her forehead, making her laugh adorably. "Let's cut the cake. "

"After dinner, we will cut the cake." Khushi said sternly, making Lulu pout sadly and turn to her father for assistance, but he was in support of Khushi, so she gave up.

Arnav wished Khushi once more and then served the food.

The trio ate, talked, and laughed as if they were a whole family, and if anyone saw them, they would never believe the family was broken.

Two hours after dinner, Arnav cut and attempted to feed Khushi, but instead directed his hand to Lulu, who ate the cake from her father's hand without hesitation.

She licked her lips, delighted with the chocolate cake her father had brought.

"Mama, it is your turn." Lulu exclaimed with enthusiasm, but Khushi shook her head.

"No, baby; I am on a diet." Arnav was taken aback by Khushi's response, which caused him to look up and down.

Khushi's body was the envy of any model or woman, and she claimed to be on a diet.

"Come on, Mama, just a little.... Papa, give her some."

Before Khushi could retort, Arnav picked up a piece of cake, held her cheek and Khushi took a bite as she stared intensely at him and he did the same.

"Yay." Lulu's cheering and clapping jolted them out of their reverie, and they both looked away, embarrassed.

"Happy Mother's Day." Arnav said and kissed Khushi on the cheek, which surprised her.

Lulu's giggling  broke her reverie and a mischievous smirk replaced her shocked expression.

Before Arnav could react, Khushi smashed a piece of cake into his face, causing Lulu to laugh uncontrollably.

"Oh, you find it funny." Arnav said, taking a piece of cake and smearing it on Lulu's face, then on Khushi's.

Arnav burst out laughing after seeing his wife and daughter smeared with cake.

Khushi and Lulu exchanged mischievous looks, and before Arnav could react, Khushi tackled him down, while Lulu smeared the remaining cake on his face.

The trip burst out laughing when they saw each other covered in cake.

Unbeknownst to Khushi, this marked the beginning of her hardened heart melting.
