Over the weekend things were a little off, aside from the regular. Dustin spent every second of the day holding Tanner's hand. She clearly could handle it but, she like the company. Let's just say her dad wasn't the best companion. He was rarely ever home but when he was, he spent his time all on Liam. Soon later everyone found out in the small town's papers what. "Benjamin 'Liam' Brady goes in a coma after car crash..." She was dreading the start of the week because it meant she would be given pitying smiles.

Your POV:
Everyone found out about Liam and Tanner was is denial.

"No reads the papers, right?" She asked worried.

"Just roll with it, We're gonna be here all day with you." Max encourages.

"Your right, gonna be fine." She says. Right before we get to homeroom Kathy approaches us.

"Tanner right? I'm soo sorry your brother was a great boyfriend," My jaw drops, correction all our jaws drop.

"Oh poor thing, I'm sooo sorry, your brother is going to be fine." She smiled walking away.

"I'm not doing this." Tanner mutters.

"Oh come on," Max said pulling her arm.

Time Skipppp

"Hey you need someone to walk you home?" I asked.

"No." She replied.

"You sure?"

"Yeah, my dad is a little off he wants me home early and such but thanks y/n." She said a little anxious.

"No problem." I said. She waved goodbye and started walking home. I saw Kate and she ran up to me.

"What's been up with you lately? You've been missing practice and Kathy needs you two-"

"Kate, it's been rough for Tanner and she needs someone."

"Oh." I swear Kate is so oblivious sometimes.

"Also since when has Liam and Kathy?" She cuts me off.

"Maybe since early December, why?"

"Just wondering,"She nods.

"Come on if we hurry we can probably catch The Shining." Kate hurries, I laugh and chase after her.

January 18th, 1986 HAWKINS, INDIANA

Your POV:

Today is C.O.P.E and honestly Mike and I didn't ask those questions. We realized we didn't need to share everything. We talked about getting out of this stupid town. I realized we never left Hawkins ever. We talked about a rode trip with the party including Will and El. Our well deserved get away from the lab,  the monsters, the Upside-Down, our parents, the drama of Hawkins itself. The bell rings and we pack up our things and head out. When we get out we see Tanner come out and Richie seconds later, clearly conflicted.

"Hey Y/n and I were thinking movie marathon at my place..." Mike says to Tanner.

"I wish but my dad, I'll try for tomorrow, okay?" She says quickly getting on her bike.

"What's up with her?" I ask Dustin, seeing him catching up with us.

"She's really uptight when it comes to her Dad. I don't know much she doesn't talk about her dad."

" At least she's coming over early tomorrow for A.V. Club." Richie mumbles.
