The prestigious Blackwell University (often referred to as BU) is a university located a couple miles from the humans' Columbia University, and its students often mix in with other college kids from various human New York institutions. Blackwell University is one of the older colleges in the state(and the oldest college for witches in America), having been founded by Reginald Blackwell in 1801.

The school's mascot is the black cat, and their colors are purple and silver. A lot of students roll their eyes at the stereotypical nature of their symbols, but its undeniable that the school's sports teams are striking in their deep purple and gleaming silver uniforms.

Below is a collection of information about life at Blackwell University, from dormitories to majors.

1. Ceremony and Ritual (Study into ritual magic, such as exorcisms, summonings, lifting curses, etc.)

2. Elemental Magic (Often accompanied by a concentration in a specific element)

3. History of Magic

4. Potions (Often accompanied by a concentration in a specific branch of potion making)

5. Astrology

6. Dead Languages (As in literally talking to the dead, not as in Latin)

7. Divination

8. Viricorp (The study and manipulation of the body. Increasing/decreasing stamina and strength, healing injuries, heightening/ lowering any and all senses, etc.)

9. Visanima(Study of the mind. Reading minds, speaking to people telepathically, causing them to see hallucinations, reading emotions, etc. Because working with the mind is an incredibly complex field, this is a difficult major to be accepted into.)

10. Chrono Studies (The study of time. Many witches can accelerate or decelerate the aging process. Witches who are skilled in this discipline can also stop time for periods up to a couple of hours on average. Researchers in the field of Chrono studies are also investigating methods that can be used to travel forwards and backwards in time, though no one has yet achieved it.)

11. Zoology (The study of animals. This major focuses on topics such as commanding/communicating with animals and the biology/classification of magical animals. Many zoology students also cultivate the ability to shapeshift into an animal over the course of their study.)

12. Healing Magic

13. Contract Law (Literally making deals with the devil)
