TAKING DOWN ESTHER WAS A LOT LESS SATISFYING AS CASSANDRA THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. There was no real battle, it was over within two seconds. To say she was disappointed would be a drastic understatement. She wanted to knock the bitch around a bit but never got the chance. Okay, she should be happy that the witch was gone and that Alaric was planning on dying but it would've been so satisfying to have the woman on her knees begging for mercy as Cassandra beat the crap out of her.
Instead she was practically sulking as she followed Klaus into his house. She didn't know why she decided to go home with him but she did. Klaus wasn't complaining as he held the door open for her, seeing the displeased look on her face. He figured she hated the way it went down with Esther but he was just glad his nuisance of a mother was gone. "Are you okay, love?" Klaus asks as he closes the door, moving over to the girl who had started pouring herself a glass of his alcohol. Cassandra sighs but nods her head, she should probably be happy that this disaster was over.
"Yeah, I just wanted more action." She admits as she frowns lightly. The Mikaelson chuckles as he rubs her shoulders, pulling her back into him. Cassandra smiles as she leans against him, resting her head back. Klaus kisses the top of her head, holding her in an embrace.
"Well, I'm sure you'll get some soon." He didn't want their to be a fight but he knew it was only a certain amount of time before Salvatore's hatched another plan to kill them. They did still have some stakes in their possession.
"I'm not gonna hope for it." Cassandra says, not wanting to jinx them because knowing their history, something bad was going to happen again. Klaus nods as he lets her go, seeing her turn around to face him.
"I'm just glad everything's back to normal." Klaus tells her as he pours himself a glass of bourbon, lifting it up to his lips in order to drink. Cassandra watches him, pain filling her eyes as she remembers the conversation they were having
"I'm sorry if I hurt you." She states as a frown takes over her features. There was no hiding the distraught look he had when seeing her and Elijah in any setting.
"I understand what you need time for, Cassandra." Klaus says with a soft smile, taking a hold of her hand. Cassandra smiles back but she still felt bad for him. He spent five hundred years trying to find her only to find out she had feelings for his own brother. She knew that hurt him but he never said a truly bad thing about Elijah.
"Yeah.." she says softly, trailing off as her eyes cast towards the ground. A deafening silence fills the air as they stand a little farther apart now. Klaus sighs, rubbing his face as he leans against the wall. "Caroline did have a good idea though." Cassandra tells him after a moment of silence, deciding to change the subject because she wanted to lighten the mood again. Klaus glances at her curiously, raising an eyebrow at her. "Scandalous sex." She suggests as she moves off of the table, walking around it in order to make her way over to Klaus who was staring back at her. He didn't know if she was just saying it to get a rise out of him but it was working.
"Is that right, love?" He asks, a ghost of a smirk on his lips but there was an amused tint behind it. She only nods her head, stepping closer to him in order to put her lips nearer to his ear. Her hands plant themselves firmly on his chest.
"You gotta catch me first." She whispers before speeding off throughout the house. Klaus chuckles under his breath before following after her. Cassandras giggles echo throughout the house as she rushes around. Making her way into the man's bedroom, she is suddenly grabbed by strong hands, throwing her onto the bed. Cassandra gasps, her eyes meeting Klaus who was smirking at her as his hand clasps around her throat, his body dipping into hers.
"Now, what am I gonna do with you."Β He asks, growling lowly as she moves further on the bed, running a hand through her hair. She makes eye contact with him, sending him a taunting wink as she runs her tongue over the bottom of her lip.
"Whatever you want." She tells him seductively as a smirk plays on her lips. Klaus's eyes darken as he hovers over the girl. Cassandra knew she was in for a long night when those words left her lips. The man meets her smirk, a lust filled expression on his face. Suddenly, his lips hit hers with passion igniting flames inside Cassandra's body.
β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’
CASSANDRA HAD JUST GOTTEN UP FROM BED, Klaus's shirt hanging over her lingerie. She got fifty texts from Caroline and Rebekah each asking where she was. She may or may not have forgotten that she told them she'd hele them clean up from the dance she didn't even want to go to. Rebekah didn't even get a chance because Esther snapped her neck. Klaus wasn't too fond of the girl leaving, watching her as she rooted through his closet for any sign of something decent to wear.
"Come back to bed, love." He pleads as he rolls over in the bed, his abs on full display to her. Cassandra almost gave in but she didn't like breaking promises even if it was the stupidest, boring promise in the entire world. No, she did not want to spend however long cleaning up with the two girls but maybe it would give the three of them to bond since Rebekah still wasn't the biggest fan of Caroline.
"I promised Caroline and Rebekah I'd help clean up the mess at the school." Cassandra states as she combs through her hair with her fingers but the tangles didn't seem to be coming out. She lets out a frustrated groan, earning the attention of the man who didn't want her to leave. Klaus licks his bottom lip, raising his eyebrows as he watched the girl grumble at herself.
"We can make our own mess here." He points out, giving her a smirk as his eyes run over her body. Cassandra glances around the room, it was a complete disaster. There was furniture flipped over, glass shattered on the floor and some paintings were crooked, a couple even on the floor. Their clothes were scattered across the room, torn apart.
"Seems like we already did." Cassandra says before looking back at him with an amused expression. Klaus shrugs his shoulders, sitting up in the bed and leaning back on his hands. The girl only turns back to finding clothes when she feels clawing hands trying to grasp her waist. She smirks, gazing at him as she tries to fight his hands.
"It's not my fault you were all over me. I was the innocent victim." Klaus tells her as he grabs her at her thighs, pulling her back onto the bed. Cassandra gives him a raised eyebrow, a sly smirk on her lips as she remembers the events of last night.
"You were hardly innocent." She teases him as she straddles his waist with ease. Cassandra sighs, running her hands down his chest for a moment debating being late so she could stay in with Klaus. But Cassandra liked living and not showing up would get her a death wish from Rebekah's and Caroline. She feels his hands slip under theΒ shirt, gripping at the skin of her hips. Leaning down, she places one last kiss on his lips, fighting against the hold he had on her in order to get up again. Klaus only sighs, rolling over as he watches her rush off the Rebekah's room in order to steal some of her clothes.
Cassandra hadn't made it two seconds into the high school when she was knocked unconscious. She didn't know by who but whoever it was wasn't going to have a heart when she woke up. The vampire could hear faint chatter near her but she couldn't quite open her eyes yet. She didn't want to. Because then she'd have to face reality. And reality sucked.
She felt her head banging against her skull, the bright light from the windows burning into her eyes. There was something on her skin that made it feel like it was melting and pain coming from all over her body. Cassandra knew it was time to face whatever it was but she was terrified. She didn't want today to be the day that she met her end. Not after just surviving an attempt.
"Cassandra." A voice says as they notice her start to slowly open her eyes. Cassandra didn't know who was talking, she didn't know where she was but she knew she had to get out of there. "Cassandra, you're okay." They tell her, fear laced in their tone which wasn't exactly motivating. Cassandra didn't feel okay. In fact she felt awful. The pain was unbearable but it was faded enough for her to open her eyes fully.
"Oh don't lie to the poor girl Elena. Her suffering is just beginning." Alarics voice fills her ears making her eyes widen. There was no way he was still alive. If he was, he had to have completed the transition into a vampire and that was never supposed to happen. But there he was sitting on the desk in front of her, a wicked smirk playing on his lips as he enjoyed watching the girl in pain.
"Stop! You have me. Let them go!" She yells at the man who only turns his head quickly towards the doppleganger. Elena flinches back, scared that he will also hurt her If she makes him too angry. He couldn't believe she was still trying to defend vampires to him, they were the madness behind every bad problem to happen in her life.
"They are vampires Elena. They deserve this." He sneers at the brunette before soaking a towel in vervain and sticking it in Cassandra mouth just as he did with Caroline. The older vampire didn't even notice Caroline, she was too busy trying to move away from the burning sensation that filled her making her let out a loud scream. She had been drinking little amounts of vervain a day but it was nothing compared to being drowned with it, the vervain touching her skin.
"Please, stop." She pleads, wanting it all to be over. Alaric laughs loudly, humour void from his voice as he leans towards the girl, slamming a stake into the girls shoulder. Cassandra lets out a disgruntled groan as her mouth was now gagged with the towel.
"Aww, she wants me to stop." Alaric says as he moves around the girl, giving Elena a venomous expression, his eyes pure darkness. Elena tried to hold back her tears seeing the two girls being so brutally tortured, she wish she could help them but Alaric wouldn't allow her to. "Is this hurting you?" He asks the girl, nearing to her face. Cassandra glares at him, trying to move towards him but ropes were keeping her arms bound to the chair. Alaric's face turns deadly, his eyes meeting hers. "Imagine how all your victims felt." He hisses at the girl, his tone cold as he allows his hand to push the stake deeper, all the while pushing the vervain further into her mouth. Cassandra tries to hide the obvious cries coming from her lips. She wanted to act strong but in all honesty, she wasn't. She was powerless.
"Run!" Elena tells Caroline who does as she is told. The doppleganger turns to Cassandra to tell her to do the same thing but Alaric blocks her view, an annoyed expression on his face.
"You're pathetic." Alaric tells Elena who glares at him. He lifts his hand towards her but Cassandra pushes him back, making him hit the wall. Alaric doesn't take much damage though as his eyes were back to staring at Cassandra. "Come on! Come at me!" He taunts her with a sickening smirk on his lips. Alaric wanted a good fight, but he would nothing more than to drive a stake through her heart since Elena wasn't man enough to do it. Cassandra rushes to him, catching him off guard as she kicks his knee making him buckle.
Cassandra throws Alaric through the desks, half of them breaking. Speeding towards him, her foot kicks him in the head, making it snap back as she continues to kick at him before bending down to connect her hand to his throat. Alaric only grabs her arm with a smirk before twisting it making a sickening crack be heard. Cassandra growls, headbutting him before kneeing his stomach and throwing him across the room, Alaric crashing into the wall.
He only gets up quickly, his eyebrow raising at her as if tempting her to try again. Cassandra's jaw clenches, her eyes filling with rage as she speeds over to him, landing multiple punches to his face. Alaric dodges the last hit, twisting her arms behind her back and tossing her into the book case. Cassandra groans as she hits the floor with a thud, but gathering her strength she gets back up. Alaric doesn't let her catch her breath though as he has his hand around her throat all of a sudden, the white oak stake in hand. Elena gasps, seeing the man raise the stake up in the air. Running as fast as she can, she knocks into him as hard as she can making the man fall forward, dropping both Cassandra and the stake to the ground. Alaric grumbles, anger radiating from his body as he turns back to Elena.
Caroline kept looking back as she ran, wanting to have snatched cassandras hand and dragged her with her but the girl had stayed back willingly. She didn't know whether Cassandra was brave or dumb but the girl sure knew how to fight. Caroline just hoped it was enough. Suddenly, a hand grabs the girl, covering her mouth and bringing her over to a corner.
"Shh. Its okay. It's okay. It's me, you're safe." A voice whispers in her ear, finally letting go of her mouth so she was able to turn her head in order to lock eyes with Klaus. She was grateful that he was here, maybe he could be the one to stop Alaric even though he seemingly couldn't be killed.
"Klaus." Caroline says with a small gasp, looking at the man who allows her to pull away from him. Klaus glances around, noticing how Cassandra hadnt been following after her. That meant that Alaric still had her in his grasp.
"Where is she." His voice was more demanding than a question in its entirety. Caroline knew he wasn't trying to be rude or snap at her, he just wanted to find Cassandra before she ended up dead. Alaric is strong for just being turned, if Cassandra was struggling against him she wondered if he'd actually be able to take Klaus as well.
"He's gonna kill her." She says breathless as a wave of fear fades through her tone. Klaus looks past her down the hall before he looks back at her hurriedly.
"You go home, stay inside. Do you understand?" He asks in a harsh tone, his hands firm on her shoulders. Caroline nods her head, tears welling up in her eyes as she wanted to go back for Cassandra but she knew she would be doing more harm than good.
"Thank you." Caroline tells him softly before speeding off away from Klaus. The man turns around, his face turning deadly as he goes to the classroom where he could hear her screams coming from. Klaus enters, only to see Elena crying as she watches Alaric hold Cassandra against the ground. He raises the white oak stake, aiming it at her heart. Klaus growls, tackling the man to the ground just as the stake enters the girls chest. Alaric pushes the original off of him, grabbing the stake from Cassandra's chest which had barely missed her heart yet again. The vampire glares at the hybrid but Klaus only throws him out of the classroom so cassandra was safe.
Cassandra lets out a gasp, her eyes opening wide. She coughs a couple times, her head turning only to see the Salvatore's and Klaus get a hold of Alaric who fights against them. She didn't know when they get to the school but she was glad they did. Elena was only standing in the classroom, trying to figure something out while bending down to see if Cassandra was okay. The girl felt pain deep down inside her chest but she was still alive which was the good thing.
Klaus makes contact with alarics chest, smirking at the man as Stefan and Damon hold him. Alaric groans, feeling his heart start to slow. The man only glares at them, using all his strength in order to throw the salvatores into the lockers. Klaus widens his eyes before getting thrown back himself. Alaric snaps both Stefan and damons necks before gripping the white oak stake and attacking Klaus. The original blocks a lot of his hits, getting in some himself before ultimately getting defeated by the vampire hunter. Klaus groans, trying to hold off the stake that was making its way to his heart as Alaric held him against the ground.
"Stop!" Elenas voice shouts making the man stop what he was doing but Alaric still held tightly onto Klaus who was glaring daggers at him. "Let him go or I'll kill myself."Β She tells the man as she holds up a small knife to her throat. Alaric glances over at her, licking his bottom lip as he didn't quite believe the girl had a suicide wish.
"Put it down Elena." Alaric demands sternly as he keeps his grip tight on Klaus who was still fighting against him. He needed to get to Cassandra, she was Injured and he needed to help but he couldn't do that if he was way past dead.
"Why? Because you still need me alive?" She asks curiously, her eyes squinting as Alaric falters at her question. He obviously knew something that no one else did. Klaus flickers his eyes between the two, knowing she was only trying to save him in order to save her little boyfriends. "There's a reason Esther used me to make you, isn't there? She didn't want you to be immortal so she tied your life to a human one. Mine. That way you have only life span to kill all vampires and then you'll be gone. So then if I die, you die too. That's it. It has to be." Elena explains angrily as she stares at the man who used to be her friend, a man she looked up to. Esther destroyed him, made him into something that he wasn't and now he was forced to attack the people who he cared about.
"You're wrong." He snaps at her, eyes glaring into her soul. Elena only raises an eyebrow, knowing she was right. If she wasn't, he would simply kill Klaus but he was only staring at her curiously.
"Am I?" She asks, her eyes flickering to Cassandra who was almost passed out on the floor, writhering in pain after being stabbed with the white oak stake two times. Luckily he had narrowly missed her heart both of the times due to Elena and klaus. Elena digs the knife into her throat, blood starting to drop down her skin. The new vampire is suddenly alarmed making him seem to drop his guard.
"Stop! Stop!" Alaric yells at the doppleganger, his grip loosening on Klaus who takes this as his opportunity. The original throws Alaric off of him before grabbing both elena and Cassandra and speeding off with them, leaving the salvatores to deal with the vampire killing hunter. It was the least he could do after they tried to kill him countless times.

CASSANDRA COULD FEEL HERSELF BECOMING MORE WEAK BUT SHE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY. Luckily she was able to open her eyes, even though she didn't want to. Being unconscious allowed her to not feel the pain that was suddenly flooding into her body at an alarming rate. She noticed someone sitting beside her and a shadow of a figure just a little farther away. Cassandra groans, her hands pressing against the soft surface beneath her in order to sit up. Her body clasped though, unable to hold her up. "Lie back down, love. You're still very weak." Klaus tells her as his hands press her gently back down into the couch. Cassandras eyes move around the room, falling on the girl hunched over in a chair. There were multiple blood bags littered around.
"What are you doing?" She asks as she stares at Elena who seemed to be trying to keep her eyes open. Klaus glances over at the doppleganger before shrugging his shoulders.
"Draining her and then we will leave."Β Klaus states like it was the most normal thing in the world. Cassandra's eyes widen, snapping her head to him but instantly regretting it as a wave of dizzyness rushes over her.
"What?" Cassandra asks, almost like she hadn't heard him right. Klaus glances at her curiously, wondering why she suddenly seemed to care for the girl. "She was trying to save me." She tells the man who only sighs, putting his hands on either side of her cheeks. Cassandra furrows her eyebrows, feeling his thumbs move softly against her skin.
"And now we need Alaric dead and the only way we can do that is to kill her." Klaus says as he holds her hand, giving it a light squeeze.
"Nik." She scolds but it was soft since she could feel something scraping against her heart. Klaus only sighs, giving the girl a small smile.
"Just rest, love. This will all be over soon." Klaus promises as he wipes the sweat off of her forehead, he didn't know why she wasn't getting better but it wasn't worrying him at the moment. Cassandra flickers her eyes over to Elena who was watching them.
"I'm sorry." She mouths to the doppleganger, for once in her life genuinely feeling bad for the girl. She didn't deserve to die for Klaus's gain, granted Alaric needed to die.
"I know." Elena mouths back with a nod, frowning as she knew the girl couldn't do anything about it. Cassandra sighs, closing her eyes as she feels the pain take over.
Cassandra opens the carriage door, stepping out onto the gravel. She had finally agreed to a date with Klaus after a month of him asking. She thought she'd at least give him a chance. Klaus makes his way to her side, raising an eyebrow as he watched her close the door. "Usually the beautiful maiden awaits for her carriage to be open for her." Klaus explains to her as he wraps her shawl around her shoulders. Cassandra smiles at him, looking over at his eyes.
"Well, I am not a damsel in distress my dear Niklaus. I can quite frankly take care of myself." She assured him as she bites her lower lip. Klaus notes, loving how she was taking control of the situation.
"I am delighted you chose to join me this evening. Part of me was terrified you'd say no." He admits as they walk next to each other towards his castle. Cassandra smiles to herself, shaking her head.
"I was indeed going to because you unable to leave my right hand alone." Cassandra tells him accusingly making him smirk knowingly. He tried to get in contact with her but it was difficult since Augustus wasn't really being much help to him.
"How else would I contact you, love?" Klaus asks her as he leans closer to her. Cassandra raises her eyebrows, shaking her head.
"A simple letter would've sufficed." She replies before feeling their hands brush against each other's. Klaus chuckles before asking a question he'd been wanting to since they had met.
"Onto more mannered subjects like where is that magnificent accent from?" He was curious since he didn't think he had ever heard the accent she had before
"I am from Romania." Cassandra tells him with a smile as she feels his fingers interlocking with hers. She moves the slightest bit closer to him as she pressed against his side. Klaus hadn't heard of that place yet before, maybe because he hadn't visited yet. It wasn't a known place, not like England.
"Oh, where is that?" Klaus asks her hoping she would elaborate on her answer but she only smirks at the ground, keeping her mouth shut. He thought she was playing a game with him but in reality she didn't want him to know. Because then he'd find out about her past. Maybe even lead her father to her. "Mysterious, I'm in love." He says teasingly as as gazes down at her. Cassandra blushes at his words, not being able to look at him for a moment. Composing herself, Cassandra lifts her eyes to his.
"What about you, Niklaus?" Cassandra raises an eyebrow at him but he only smiles, shaking his head at her.
"Now, I have given you permission to call me Klaus yet you keep saying my entire name." Klaus points out, wondering if she was doing it on purpose or just saying it because she had gotten used to it.
"Do you not like it?" She asks curiously, a small frown on her lips. Cassandra didn't want to offend the man or make him angry but it didn't seem like he really minded what she called him.
"Whatever you prefer is okay." Klaus tells her after seeing the change in her mood. Cassandra nods, her fingers playing with his as they walked along the gravel together.
"Nik, where were you born?" Cassandra questions, hearing his british accent but she wanted to know more about him. He made her curious. Klaus smirks lightly, glancing over at the girl. He had only heard his sister call him that name, but he liked it better coming from Cassandra's mouth.
"Just a small village, no where important." Klaus tells her as he lets his eyes move to the ground for a moment. Cassandra raises an eyebrow at him, a small giggle leaving her lips as her hand squeezes his.
"Now who's mysterious." Cassandra replies to him with a smirk as she nudges his arm. Klaus laughs, his tongue running along his bottom lip. The man stops in front of the doors, his hand dropping from hers.
"M'lady." He says as he opens the door for her. Cassandra only smiles, shaking her head as she brushes past the man in order to walk into the castle. Klaus's hand hovers over her back as he closes the door, following after her.
"Please, get Stefan." Elena begs Tyler, the boy contemplating whether he should make it obvious he wasn't sired to Klaus anymore or save his own ass. Cassandra didn't know what she had woken up to but she knew Klaus was angry that Tyler wasn't listening to him.
"No, Tyler. Get the bags." Klaus demands Tyler who stares at Elena for a little while longer. He takes a step towards the girl but Klaus blocks his view. "Forget the girl and get the bags. Now." He sneers, trying to understand why Tyler wasn't doing exactly as he was told. Tyler eventually turns around, walking out of the room.
"So that's it? Youre just going to bleed me dry?" Elena asks as she tries her hardest to glare at the man but she could barely keep her eyes open. Klaus turns to her, not caring one bit of having to kill her. It was to protect him and his family.
"Yes. But don't worry. It will be painless. As the last drop is drawn, you'll simply fall asleep." He states with a smirk before moving towards Cassandra and sitting down next to her.Β "Drink, love." Klaus tells her as he lifts her body up towards him. Cassandra whimpers, her hands gripping his chest as she rests her head in his neck. He was practically holding her up as she starts to drink from him. It was giving her little to no strength, sweat glistening her forehead.
"Why is she not getting better?" Elena asks curiously, her eyes furrowing a little bit. No matter how much blood klaus seemed to give her Cassandra wasn't getting any better. In fact she was getting worse.
"Alaric took a lot out of her. Give her time." Klaus says as he notices the girls eyes shut once more, her weak body giving in to the pain. Her head drops onto his shoulder, her hand loosening on his shirt as she falls to the side on the couch.
"Where are we going, Cassandra?" Katherine asks for the thousandth time as she follows after the girl. It had been two days since they escaped from Klaus and they hadn't had made much progress. Cassandra was half ready to turn around and go back to him on her hands and knees, hoping if she did that he would forgive her for leaving. But she knew she couldn't. The man would simply kill her because she betrayed him. She was just like his siblings. Maybe even worse.
"Anywhere, somewhere away from Nik. Far away." Cassandra mumbles, her eyes checking their surroundings every couple seconds to make sure they weren't being followed. They did not need to be taken back to the man anytime soon, especially not Katherine. Klaus would most likely take it easier on Cassandra but he didn't even care for the doppleganger.
"But what if he finds us?" Katherine questions, terrified that they may be found. Cassandra groans, wanting the girl to be quiet because she was getting on her nerves.
"He wont." She states firmly, speeding up in hopes that's the girl would shut her mouth. Katherine doesn't take the hint though, wanting to girl to finally tell her what they were going to do.
"But what if he does--" She starts to ask again but Cassandra only speeds her against a tree, her hand wrapping around the girls neck. Pure rage fills her features as she glared at the woman who was truly terrified. Cassandra could easily kill her if she wanted to.
"He wont, Kat! You have to trust me." Cassandra snaps at her angrily, hating being questioned so much. But she didn't truly know where she was going but didn't want to admit it to the brunette who was getting anxious. It didn't help that she was a newly turned vampire either.
"Well, do you even have a plan?" Katherine asks her, staring at the girl as she wasn't too keen on just running aimlessly until Klaus caught up to them. If they didn't even have a plan, how were they supposed to avoid Klaus and his little minions for the rest of their lives.
"Perhaps she doesn't but I do." A new voice says, making the two girls snap their heads in the direction of the person who was talking to them. Cassandra gasps softly, her eyes meeting the man who she didn't expect to see so soon. She didn't understand how he did find them, unless he was following a non existent trail.
"E-elijah."Β She stumbles over her words as she stares wide eyed at the man. Elijah didnt look bad but he didn't seem too thrilled to see her either. "How did you find us?" She asks nervously as she backs up when he takes a step towards her. Cassandra didn't mean to act afraid in front of him but she couldn't help it. She falters though when she sees the clear hurt in his eyes.
"It wasn't as difficult as you may think which is why you need to do as I say." Elijah tells her as he stares down at her. Cassandra looks at him confused for a second, not understanding why he was planning on telling them what to do rather than take them back to his brother who was no doubtbly waiting to kill them. But unfortunately, Katherine had killed herself after Rose fed her blood to heal her of her 'wounds'. Cassandra wasn't too keen on the idea but she didn't stop the girl either.
"Wait... You're helping us?" Cassandra questions suspiciously, her eyes glancing around their environment. She was scared Klaus was going to come out of nowhere. Elijah nods his head, his hands in his pockets. "If Nik finds out, he will dagger you Elijah." She tells him, not wanting the man to risk his life for her. Not after she was the reason Klaus was so angry. He had spent so long building everything for his sacrifice and she ruined it so easily.
"I can deal with my brother, Cassandra." Elijah states as he takes a couple steps towards her. This time she doesn't back away, instead looking at him intrigued as she never saw any type of rebellious side to him. "All I am worried about is your safety." He lifts his hand, wiping the smudge of dirt off of her cheek. Cassandra smiles at him, glad that he was on their side.
"I am here too." Katherine clears her throat as she raised her hand, gaining their attention. Elijah didnt seem to spare her a second glance though before his eyes fell back on Cassandra who was already staring up at him.
"Then where to, Elijah?" Cassandra asks, her eyes gazing up into his. Elijah only smirks at her, tilting his head to the side as he evaluated the girl. Part of him thought she was just messing with him, but he knew she wanted to get far away from his brother. Cassandra for some reason knew she could trust him, she didn't know why since he could easily hand her back to Klaus but she knew he wouldn't do that. And thus begun the five hundred year escape from the man she thought was the true enemy.
Cassandra groans as she allows her eyes to adjust to the light again. She wanted Klaus to comfort her but the sight that she saw was something horrible. Something she never thought she would have to see. Damon and Tyler were holding Klaus back as Stefan had his fingers digging in to the hybrids chest. They were killing him.
"Nik." She gains his attention, the veins slowly moving up his body. Their eyes connect and all that was shown was pure pain. Cassandra felt utterly powerless. She could do nothing to stop this and that made her angry. Damon also seemed to notice the girl was conscious again but that only made his grip on Klaus tighten. "No." Cassandra gasps as she feels tears stroll down her cheeks. They drop klaus to the ground after the veins cover his whole body. They didn't even seem the slightest bit sorry. "What did you do?" She asks weakly as she tries to sit up but is inable to. Damon glances down at the floor, unable to look the girl in her eyes.
"I'm sorry. We had to." Damon says sympathetically, frowning as he genuinely felt bad for her. If it could go any other way, he wouldve done it but klaus was going to kill elena and he couldn't have that. No matter the cost. Their friendship was expendable to him.
"Elena." Stefan warns her, not liking how close she was getting to Cassandra. The brunette gives him an assuring look, holding her hand up at him. Damon only gets in front of her, not allowing her to continue walking.
"She was gonna help me. She's just weak." Elena says, trying to break away from the hold damon had on her. He wasn't too keen on her being anywhere near the homicidal vampire though especially now that they killed klaus.
"Now, she'll want to kill us. Let's go." Damon tells her but elena only glares at him, ripping her arm out of his grasp. She makes her way over to the girl who was trying to keep a deathly expression on her face but the pain evident on her face made her not be able to act on it.
"Hey, hey. Cassandra." Elena says softly, earning her attention as she flickers her eyes up to look at her. The doppleganger opens her shirt a little, wanting to check for injuries only for her eyes to widen at the sight in front of her.Β "Oh, my god." She gasps, seeing the gaping hole that was left. It mustve been made when Cassandra was trying to take down alaric. The rest of them lean over in order to see what elena was staring at.
"What is that?" Tyler asks as he grimaces at the disgusting hole in cassandra's body. Elena frowns, stroking the vampires hair as the girl breathes heavily. The salvatores glance at each other, both knowing if they helped her, they would only be giving her back her strength and then she'd kill them.
"Alaric stabbed her with the white oak. Maybe a part of it is inside her." Elena suggest, thinking that was the only logical explanation to the girl not being able to heal. The girl groans, turning over on her side as she felt her body get worse and worse by the second.
"It has magic in it. It's killing her slowly. That's why she's not healing." Stefan adds, a frown forming on his lips as he glances down at the girl. There eyes meet for a split second but cassandra looks away since she couldn't bare looking any of them in the eyes after they killed klaus right in front of her. "We have to get it out." He informs the group who all nod their heads. They just killed klaus, the least they could do was save her life and not her go out this way.
"Guys." Tyler catches their attention, noticing Cassandra was trying to get up from the couch. She was not about to give them the satisfaction of watching her die.
"We're trying to help you." Damon tells her, only earning a stern glare from the older vampire. He gulps, taking a step back as she didn't want to be in her direct line of fire. Cassandra pushes elena's helping hands away from her body, but she could feel herself getting weaker by the second.
"Just let me die." She begs them, hoping for once in there lives they will actually do as she says and let her leave this miserable world once and for all. "I want to die." Cassandra coughs, her voice cracking as she takes in a deep breath. Elena didn't believe that though, she wanted the girl to fight.
"No, you don't." The brunette denies as she shakes her head, not wanting the girl to go out this way, no matter how many differences were between them. Elena turns her head towards the rest of the group, deciding they needed help. "Call Elijah." Elena tells them, getting a few hesitant looks but Stefan eventually takes out his phone to call the original. The doppleganger strokes Cassandra's hair, watching the girl take shaky breathes as she could feel the piece of wood scrape against her heart with every movement.

OPENING HER EYES SLOWLY, Cassandra is met with familiar eyes staring down at her. A sigh leaves her lips as she notices him bite into his wrist and hold it to her lips allowing her to drink slowly. She needed to regain her strength after having the white oak removed from her. Cassandra felt much better, she didn't feel like she was internally dying anymore which was a good sigh. She moans at the taste of the blood, her hands softly gripping the arm. "There you go." Elijah tells the girl, allowing the girl to drink from him. Cassandra sighs, her eyes closing as she takes in the blood. "Slow and steady." He says as he strokes her hair with his other hand. Cassandra does as he says before pulling away and looking into his eyes.
"Elijah." She mumbles as she smiles softly at him. Elijah brushes her hair away from her face, his face remained stoic though as he was still angry at the Salvatore's for taking his brother away.
"Good to see you awake, Cassandra." He tells her, the girl fiddling with her fingers.Β "How are you feeling?"Β Elijah asks her as he didn't want to push the girl too far.
"Like I just almost died." She muttered, moving uncomfortably as she still felt the wood inside her that was no longer there thanks to Elijah.Β "Where is he?" Cassandra asks as her eyes flicker around the room. She was still in the living room but Klaus was no where to be found. Elijah frowns, glancing down at the ground as he knew that was what she wanted to know more than anything.
"Damon and Stefan.. have him." Elijah says reluctantly, not wanting to girl to spring up and try to get his brother back. To her luck, she'd only make the situation worse and then they would never end up getting Klaus back.
"We have to get him back." Cassandra tells the man, sitting up fully as she wanted to get Klaus back in order to revive him. Elijah holds her down by her shoulders though, not believing that the girl was in her full strength yet.
"Easy there. You just woke up." He says, making her frown as she shakes her head. She couldnt just sit around because she was injured. That wouldn't help Klaus in any way. If she wasn't hurt, he never would've been killed in the first place. She had her guard down and he died because of it. Cassandra couldn't live with herself If anything bad truly happened to him or they weren't able to get him back.
"I need him." She tells the man softly, tears brimming in her eyes. Cassandra knew Elijah didnt want to hear that. He wanted to hear that she needed him but that wasn't what came out of her mouth. Elijah tenses, his face faltering as he heard her. The truth was, Elijah already knew. He already knew of her choice but he couldn't bring himself to accept it.
"I know." Elijah replies in a saddened tone, his eyes gazing into hers. Cassandra felt bad for saying that she needed his brother instead of him but it was true. It was like Klaus was her oxygen and she couldn't breathe now that he was taken away from her. He was gone and although they could bring him back, they couldn't do anything until the Salvatore's handed him over. Once again Elena Gilbert had won. She got everything she wanted and that made Cassandra become pissed off. After saving her ass countless times, this is how she got repayed. Sure, they were probably going to make a deal in order to save themselves but it probably won't indicate anything about making Elena's life a living hell. And that was exactly what Cassandra was going to do.
