The solider's came closer and closer, "Take your aim!", Susan instructed them and they all raised their bow to choose a target.
They watched how the ground suddenly started to disappear and the soliders fell into the large hole. That meant their plan had worked and Caspian and the others had successfully destroyed the pillars that held the ground.ย
"Now!", Adeline's sister screamed and everybody immediatley released their arrows.
They flew through the air and as hit the soliders, at the same time the Narnian's and Adeline's brother's attacked the Talamrines.
The Narina's came from all sides lead by Caspian and fought the soliders. But the Telmarine army had more people, the Soliders came one after the other.
Peter soon announced the retreat but the Telmarines started to fire at the term who the Archers stood.
A tree fell over and hit Adeline off of the term roof, but Susan grabbed her arm and tried to hold her off from falling.
But that didn't worked well, after a short moment Adeline couldn't hold on to Susan's Arm and fell to the next rock outcrop.
She slowly stood up again and looked to the ground where Peter and Caspian were looking at her with relieved looks.
The entrance to the term was now closed and the Narina's had no way to retrain, so Peter, Edmund, Susan, Adeline and Caspian lead them back into the fight.
Adeline stood in the middle of the battlefield as she swung her sword and killed a solider that wanted to stab her from behind.
She hit one in the face with the end of her swords grip. She put her sword away and shot a few soliders with her arrows like Susan.
The soliders were everywhere and the situation seemed hopeless, but suddenly the girl saw the trees of old times join them on the filed.
They awoke after years and years of sleep and came to their rescue. The soliders tried to escape, but the trees wouldn't let them.
"For Narnia!", Peter screamed loudly as they attacked the Talamrines again.
The soliders retreaded and tried to escape through the river but Lucy and Alsan cut then off before they could enter the bridge. But that didn't held the Telmarines off for long, they soon started to try and attack Aslan and Lucy.
Aslan just roared loudly and the water started to move. The river seemed to bulge and suddenly turned into a huge person who washed the soldiers off the bridge.
Then the creature took a piece of the bridge where the current leader of the army stood and just ate him. After that it disappeared and with him the man.
Caspian, Adeline and her siblings made their way over to Aslan and Lucy and immediatley kneeled infront of them.
"Rise, Kings and Queens of Narnia", the lion told them friendly, and so they did.
"All of you", Aslan told them as he looked at Caspian who still kneeled.
The Telmarine looked up surprised, "I do not think I'm ready", he said as he looked at the ground again.
"It's for that very reason. I know you are", Aslan reasoned as he watched the prince. A small smile crossed Caspian's face as he slowly stood up as well.
Suddenly a bunch of mouses carried Riepischiep through the king's and queen's.
He was injured and breathed heavily, so Lucy quickly gave him something from her special medicine and he was immediately healed.
"Thank you, Your Majesty", the Mouse thanked the little girl. He suddenly saw Aslan standig infront of him,
"Hail, Aslan! It is great honour to be in-", he started but stummbled forward. The mouse turned around only to see that his take was cut off.
"I'm completely out of countenance. I must crave your indulgence for appearing in this unseemly fashion", the mouse apologized.
"Perhaps a drop more", the mouse asked Lucy desperat, "I don't think it does that", the girl answered him as she scrunched up her nose.
"You could have a go", the mouse reasoned with her, Aslan laughed, "It becomes you well, small one."
"All the same, great king, I regret that I must withdraw, for a tail is the honour and glory of a mouse", he said as he held his sword for Aslan to take.
"Perhaps you think to much of your honour, friend", the lion said to him, "Well, it's not just the honour. It's also great for balance. And climbing. And grabbing things", Riepischiep went on and on.
Another Mouse interrupted him, "May it please your High Majesty, we will not near the shame of wearing an honour denied to our chief", he said as they all grabbed their tails.
"Not for the sake of your dignity, but for the love of your people", the Lion said before Riepischiep's tail grew back.
"Look! Thank you, my liege. I will treasure it always. From this day forward it will serve as a great reminder of my huge humility!", the mouse exclaimed thankful.
They all smiled at him, Adeline never had met someone as dramatic as Riepischiep.
"Now, where is this dear little friend you told me so much about?โ, the Lion asked them chuckling. They all looked to the dwarf who slowly approprached Aslan.
He kneeled infront of him and stung his sword into the ground, Aslan roared loudly and Lucy laughed, "Do you see him now?", they all chuckeld.
A day after that it was Caspian's coronation, the people were happy and cheered for them as they rode through the crowd.
The time flew by and the afternoon changed into evening. But the people were still celebrating, they made music and danced with each other. There was chatting, laughing and everybody was eating.
Adeline sat in between Edmund and Susan while she drunk from her goblet.
"I still can't believe that we're back", she could hear Lucy say from next to Susan. "It feels like a dream", the girl added and she was right.
Adeline could remember when she sat on the bench in the train station and thought that she would never see Narnia again but here she was.
They had defeated Miraz, Caspian was King and the Narina's didn't had to hide anymore. She turned to the side and watched a couple of little girls dance around each other happyly.
After a while they stopped and approched her smiling, Adeline was confused but then she realized that they wanted her to join them.
They grabbed her by the hands and dragged her to the middle of the dance floor were they started to jump in a circle.
The Pevensie girl was truly happy, she jumped next to them and spun the little girls around making them giggle loudly.
The music changed into a slower melody and the children stop jumping as they looked past her with wide eyes.
Adeline furrowed her eyebrows and turned around only to come face to face with Caspian, who had watched them for a while.ย
He stood there in his robes, his crown still on his head and his hair messy as always.
"May I have this dance?", he asked her smiling as he bowed and streched out his hand, "You may", the girl answered him as she slowly took his hand.
The King place his left hand on her waist, while Adeline's right hand went to his shoulder. They intertwined their free hands with each other as they slowly danced to the music.
"And what do you think?", he asked her after a while of scilence, "Of what?", Adeline asked him curious as she looked into his eyes.
"Of me as a King", he said as he looked at her as well, "The crown definitely suits you", the Pevensie girl told him chuckling.
"You're going to be a good King", she added as she looked at him seriously.
Caspian smiled widely as he nodded his hand thankful, "For how long will you stay?", the king asked her, secretly hoping that they would stay here with him in Narnia.
"I don't know. But I expect that Aslan will sent us home soon", the girl told him as she looked at the lion who sat on the side and chatted with the Narnian's.
"What if I would ask you to stay?", the prince asked her suddenly, Adeline was a little bit surprised.
She looked back at the boy unsure of what to say to him.
Of course she wanted to stay in Narnia, she wanted to experience Adventures and she wanted to spent more time with Caspian but she couldn't.
She didn't belong in this world and the girl knew it. She had a live back in London and a Family, the Pevensie's had to go back.
The two continued to sway to the music, "Caspian, I don't belong here", the girl told him smiling sadly.
"You belong here like every other Narnia. And you will always have a place here", the king told her honestly as he smiled sadly as well.
"I might take you up on that offer", Adeline smiled as the prince slowly spun her around.
"I'm counting on it", he replied happyly as he pulled her close again. "Adi, you're coming?", she suddenly heared Lucy shout for her.
The brunette girl turned her head to see her siblings standig by the entrance of the castle waiting for her to join them.
She turned back to the boy who already looked at her, "Goodnight, Caspian", she smiled shyly as she stepped back from him.
"Goodnight, Adeline", the king replyed as he held her hand up and softly kissed the back of her hand.
They held eye contact for a moment before Adeline did a little bow and made her way through the crowd. Caspian watched her until she disappeared behind the door.
The sun was already up when Susan and Peter were called to Aslan, the lion wanted to discuss something important with the two.
Lucy, Edmund and Adeline waited in their big room chatting with each other.
"I saw you dance with Caspian yesterday", Lucy told her sister as she laid her head on the back of her hands with a mischievous look.
"Urgh, shut it Lucy!", the girl exclaimed as she let herself fall on to her bed. "Are you in love with him?", the little girl asked her sister a little curious.
"I don't know. I just have this feeling when he is around", Adeline answered her smiling as she sat up again.
โThis feeling like thousands of butterflies are in my stomachโ, she explained to her younger a sitter as she sat up again.
โUrgh, vomitโ, Edmund scoffed aร ge sat by the window looking at his sisters.
โShove off, Ed!โ, Adeline exclaimed as she threw a pillow at him, just when it hit him Susan and Peter came back and informed them that Caspian and Aslan wanted them to gather outside.
"Narnia belongs to the Narnias, just as it does to man. Any Telmarine who want to stay and live in peace are welcome to. But for any of you who wish, Aslan will return you to the home of our forefathers", Caspian told the folk as they were gathered infront if the castle.
"It's been generations since we left Telmar!", one of them said, "We're not referring to Telmar. Your ancestors were seafaring brigands. Pirates Run aground on an island. There they found a cave, a rare chasm that bought them here from their world. The same world as our Kings and Queens", Aslan replied to them.
The Siblings exchange surprised looks, "It is to that island I can return you. It is a good place for any who wish to make a new start", the Lion continued to offer the people.
"I will accept the offer", someone said loudly, the man stepped forward and bowed before Caspian, who did the same.
"So will we", a couple with a baby spoke up, "Because you have spoke up first, your future in that world shall be good", Aslan told them before he breathed out hardly.
The two intertwined trees behind the Pevensie siblings began to separate from each other and opened a portal from Narnia to the real World.
The people walked through the portal and disappeared, the crowd gasped shocked.
"How do we know he is not leading us to our death!", one of them asked angryly.
"Sir, if my example can be of any service, I will take 11 mice through with no delay", Riepischiep spoke up brave as he stepped forward.
Aslan looked at the Pevensie Siblings and Adeline knew what was about to happen.
"We'll go", Peter said slowly as he stepped forward. "We will?", Edmund questioned him confused, "Come on our time's up", the oldest Pevensie said as he looked at his siblings.
"After allโ", he started as he turned to Caspian, "We're not really needed here anymore."
Peter grabbed his sword and handed it over to Caspian. "I will look after it until you return", the new King promised him.
"That's just it, we're not coming back", Susan spoke up as she looked at Caspian, who's eyes immediatley widened as he looked at Adeline sadly.
"We're not?", Lucy asked her disappointed, "You three are. At least, I think he means you three", Peter spoke up as he looked at Adeline, Edmund and Lucy. Caspian's face immediately brightened up again.
"But why? Did they do something wrong?", Lucy asked the Lion sadly. "Quite the opposite, dear one", Aslan answered her friendly, "But all things have their time. Your brother and sister have learned what they can from this world. Now it's time for them to live in their own", Aslan explained to them a little sad as well.
"It's alright, Lu. It's not how I thought it would beโ but it's all right. One day you see, too", Peter said to his little sister as he approched her.
"Come on", he softly grabbed her hand and lead her to the others to say their Goodbye's.
They were followed by Susan and Edmund but Adeline stayed behind, she looked to her side and saw Caspian who already watched her as he still stood were he held his speech.
Adeline walked towards him, "I'm glad I came back", she said as she looked directly into his eyes.
"I wish we had more time together", Caspian said honestly as he watched her.
A smile made his way on to the girl's lips, "We would never have worked, anyway", the girl told him.
"Why not?", the King asked a little sad that she didn't believed in them. "I'm 1,300 years older than you", the girl smiled widely and he chuckled as he continued to eye her.
โI have something for youโ, the king spoke up as he took his Ring from his finger, โThis way you will always remember meโ, he told her as he softly grabbed her hand and placed the ring on her thumb.
Adeline began to smile widely, she quickly took her necklace she wore everyday from her neck and placed it in his palm. โAnd this will always remind you of meโ, she told him now smiling sadly.
They looked at one another one more time before Adeline slowly turned around. But she just couldn't bring herself to leave him yet.
So she quickly turned around to him again, placed her hand on his neck and softly connected her lips with his.
After a moment they let go of each other, Caspian immediately hugged her. It felt like the boy never wanted to let her go and she wanted to hold on to him for forever too.
As they sperated from each other their eyes met again, "I'll never forget you", the girl whispered as a tear made it's way down her face.
The King looked at her with a look in his eyes that said stay, but she had to go.
So Adeline quickly turned around and walked to her siblings, they all stood in a row and looked at their friends and the folk.
Aslan nodded at them slowly and with that the Pevensie's turned to the trees and all stepped one after the other through the Portal.
Adeline closed her eyes and when she opened them again, they were back at the train station, in their Uniforms between all the other students.
The train was already there and everybody entered, but the siblings only stood there and watched the people walk by.
"Aren't you coming, Phyllis?", a boy suddenly asked Susan as he entered the train.
They all looked at each other before they quickly grabbed their stuff and entered the train as well.
"You don't think there's any way we can get back?", Edmund asked his siblings curious.
"I've left my new torch in Narnia", he said as he looked at his siblings. They all looked at him and began laughing, the door's slowly closed and the train continued his way to the next train station.
Adeline sighed and watched as the walls and the landscape rushed past them.
She thought about Caspian and the girl was absolutely sure that one day, she would see him again.
