Chapter 3
Author POV:
"I'm still alive!" Buttercup yells out, "Don't fucking scare me like that you dummy!" Butch glares at Buttercup, "Well geez, a hug or a kiss would've been nice instead of getting yelled at, ya know? since I'm hurt and all." Buttercup pouts.
Butch rolls his eyes and leans down to kiss Buttercup's head, "There," Butch says, "How did you find ou-"
"The football team saw an ambulance outside the soccer field gates, and the soccer couch came running to our field, telling our couch that you had gotten hit and your head was bleeding and that the school nurse had already left." Butch sits down on the hospital bed next to Buttercup, "I got really worried and decided to leave practice to go see you." Butch explained, "But what happened? I heard you got distracted?"
Buttercup sighs, and was about to answer him, but a nurse comes inside the room with Buttercup's dad, interrupting them.
"Buttercup, the results from your brain examination are available. Just please follow the nurse to the neurological wing"
Butch gets up from the hospital bed, "Okay...well, I'll be leaving now then." Butch said, "I'll text you when I get home," Buttercup says, receiving a peck on the lips from Butch. "Take all the rest, you need, I'll see you at school." Butch waves goodbye leaving Buttercup alone with the nurse and her dad.

"Buttercup, it looks like all your injuries are all healed now," The doctor said, Buttercup smiles, "Well, I am a soccer player." She responds.
"When will I be able to go home?" Buttercup asks, but the doctor doesn't say anything. "Doctor? Is there a problem?" Buttercup's dad asks, worried all over his face.
The doctor clears his throat, "Mm, I'll get straight to the point," He mumbles, Buttercup looks at the doctor in confusion, "What are you talking about?" She says, "Buttercup, we have found a tumor inside your brain from the last examination, it probably appeared after you hit your head in the accident? We're not so sure."
Buttercup stays quiet, and hears her dad panicking in worry, "But I'm f-fine! That can't be true, I been healthy all my life!" Buttercup yells, her body trembling. "Have you gotten a lot of headaches lately? Having trouble sleeping? Vomiting? Memory problems?" The doctor questions.
Buttercup freezes in realization, and remembers the past few weeks how her health has been acting up. "No, No, No!" Buttercup yells, feeling tears spill from her eyes and stream down her cheeks. Buttercup's father comforts her and tries to calm her down.
"If you had none of those symptoms so far, than at least for now you'll be fine, but the tumor will grow in size as time passes, Buttercup." The doctor warns her, "Because of that, your recent memories and the new ones you make will slowly disappear." Buttercup looks up from the palm of her hands to look at the doctor.
"W-What? I'll forget all my memories? all of them?" Buttercup asks, and the doctor nods in response. "But, doctor isn't there a way to avoid that? Like surgery? Can't that fix it?" Butch's dad asks, "If we leave it, the tumor will grow and eventually rupture the the brain so we'll have to do surgery, but even if we're able to safely remove the tumor from your brain, that...we still won't be able to fix the damaged part of your brain to the way it was before." The doctor explained.
"I'm sorry, Buttercup, but your recent memories will still be lost."
"How many memories will she forget? How many past months?"
The doctor looks at the papers, "I won't know what memories she'll lose and I don't know how much she'll forget, but probably from the last eight? or nine months? might be affected."
It feels like Buttercup's whole world has stopped and she felt like she couldn't breathe correctly.
