"I just... I don't understand..." Akaashi watched as Daichi buried his face in his hands, his chest moving ever so slightly, indicating small, silent sobs.

"Daichi.. I don't know what to tell you, to be honest. No one expected this, not even me. But things like these don't happen without a reason, you know?" Akaashi genuinely had no idea what to tell his friend, moreover he was quite surprised himself.

"I know they don't, but why would Suga do this? Why kill someone so precious to me? Izumo had done nothing to Suga, she liked him a lot and yet..." Daichi took a few deep breaths, trying to calm down.

"How many days have passed?" Akaashi watched as Daichi glanced at the calendar, still set on the day his best friend of all time turned out to be a murderer.

"Nine days since Suga left. We're still looking for him, but seeing Kageyama and Hinata panicking all over the place was too hard on my heart, so I sent them to you. That's why you called, right?" Daichi finally got himself together. Akaashi's expression was quite weird, Daichi couldn't quite make it out.

"Yeah.. here's the problem. Hinata is here, Kageyama is not" Akaashi said as he exhaled.

"What?!" Daichi panicked, his eyes wide. He was sure that he led them both to the airport.

"Kageyama had to attend some family stuff, he left literally the day after. I'm guessing he didn't tell you, probably didn't want to worry you more" Akaashi sighed. He sort of wished it was Hinata who left.

Kageyama was the quiet type and Akaashi liked that, not to mention he wouldn't talk to Bokuto. Hinata, on the other hand, talks about everything and anything, follows Bokuto around and really just makes Akaashi irritated.

"Oh.. quite typical of him. Thank you for telling me. I have to go now, I need to look through the leads we have on Suga, I'll update you on the case" Daichi gave Akaashi a weak smile. They said their goodbyes to eachother before finishing the call.

Akaashi felt a wave of relief wash over him, but it was followed by harsh realization that now he'll have to deal with Hinata for the time being. Still, even he didn't expect Suga to kill like that.

The two have known eachother for a while, Akaashi was the only one who knew about Suga's feelings towards Daichi and his obsessive behaviour. Yet, Akaashi didn't have the heart to tell Daichi that the only reason Suga killed was because of love, because he loved Daichi too much. As a matter of fact, he could relate to Suga, after all he'd kill anyone who would try to steal Bokuto away from him.

A slight knock on the door shook Akaashi out of his thoughts. "What?", he asked knowing damn well that Bokuto was on the other side.

"I don't want to interrupt or anything, but your tea is getting cold" Bokuto spoke from another side, his voice quiet for once. Without a word Akaashi stood up and went to open the door, actually, he felt quite bad.

It's been two months since Akaashi last hurt someone, he wanted to see if he could actually stop himself, but in return he became angry and frustrated all the time. He accidentally snapped at Bokuto, scaring the poor boy. Akaashi yelled at him, called him some bad things but Bokuto didn't get his feelings hurt - he simply thought Akaashi was frustrated about a case of some sort.

"Thank you, let's go drink it" Akaashi said, smiling at Bokuto apologetically.

"Okay! Oh, I have some.. news" Bokuto started saying as they made their way to the kitchen. Akaashi quickly glanced at Bokuto, waiting for him to continue. "There's going to be a massive cleaning at the station, I'll be staying there overnight"

"I should make you something to eat" Akaashi said. He seemed completely unbothered by that fact, which made Bokuto confused.

"Wait, you're not gonna question it?" Bokuto raised an eyebrow.

"Why would I? I know about the cleaning, Roy told me. He's also staying there overnight. You're a grown man, Bokuto. I'd trust you with my life" Akaashi glanced at Bokuto who seemed to be moved by his words.

"Oh! I was worried for nothing. I thought you're gonna be angry or something.." Bokuto said quietly.

"I'm sorry about the other day, dear. I've just been on the edge. Text me or call me though, okay? Just so I know you're safe" Akaashi walked closer to Bokuto, leaning in ever so slightly to leave just an inch between them. "You're my everything, Bokuto. Always remember that"

Bokuto felt his cheeks heating up as his heart practically exploded in his chest. "O-Okay..", was all that he managed to say before Akaashi smiled and took a step back.

Akaashi wasn't going to leave Bokuto hungry, so the least he could do was cook something. While Bokuto went to take a shower, Akaashi managed to put together a nice bento for him.

"Just in time, Bokuto..." Akaashi thought to himself, he knew he was at his limit. He needed to do something to someone, he desperately needed to feel that kind of satisfaction again before he turned into a mindless killer. Akaashi couldn't stop. He was too hooked.

He was weak.

As soon as Bokuto left, Akaashi glanced at his wristwatch. 6:07 PM. Plenty of time to do whatever he wants, isn't it? The only problem that remained was the victim.

Akaashi sighed loudly before grabbing his car keys. He still had plenty of anger within him. Akaashi was angry at himself, at Suga, at the people in the police station, at all of the undiscovered bodies that were still rotting... he knew that whoever falls into his hands will regret their entire existence.

Driving around, looking for potential victims was as hard as it always is. He never understood how serial killers could just lure people they don't know into their home that easily. Sure, he did it once, but that was pure luck. Honestly, he found some aspects of most serial killers disgusting. For example: raping their victims. Just, no.

While Akaashi was a horny bastard, he would never lay his hands on someone against their will. Not only because Akaashi wouldn't find it exciting, but also because he knows how it feels like to be used against your own will.

Another thing he found absolutely revolting is how some serial killers would keep their victim's body parts in their home, or even bury them nearby. First, that's the most obvious way to get caught. Second, having a body part of some you killer would just be weird. Does he need to remember it? No, he doesn't.

Akaashi stopped the car by a convenience store. His wristwatch showed 07:35 PM, he had been driving around for a while. He picked up some matches, drinks, cigarettes (Malboro Gold's to be more exact) salt and everything he could think of. It was going to be a long night after all.

His phone started buzzing as he was paying, which pissed him off slightly, but not enough for him to snap. "This is Akaashi Keiji, how can I help you?", he answered making the cashier stare at him.

"Hey, it's Roy. Here to tell you that Bokuto's phone died and he asked me to call you and inform you he's okay" Roy laughed on another line.

"That idiot... I told him to charge it. Thank you, Roy. I appreciate it" Akaashi said, laughing lightly.

"I'm gonna ask him all sorts of things about you, just so you know. Also, have you ever had to deal with annoying letters?" Roy asked. Akaashi quickly threw the groceries in the back, muttering a small "no" to Roy's weird question.

"Oh.. well, as you may know X has been quiet for a while. I've been getting a shit ton of letters of people either confessing to the crimes or claiming to know him." Roy sighed loudly. Akaashi burst out laughing accidentally, but the thought that someone was confessing to him was just to hilarious.

"I'm sorry, it's just that it's absurd" Akaashi said as he finished laughing.

"It is! But I still have to go through all of them! We had our professional criminal profiler tell us what sort of person we should be looking for, so eliminating unlikely suspects became much easier." Roy said, making Akaashi stop in his tracks. No way they could be onto him.

"And? What did they say?" Akaashi asked as he sat down in his car.

"Well, she said we should be looking for someone with anger issues, possibly mental problems as well. She mentioned psychosis and bipolar disorder. She also said that the person would be a clean freak, considering no finger prints or anything was ever found on the victims. All in all, she had a hard time painting X's picture, his crimes are so spontaneous and unpredictable..." Roy sighed again, banging his fist on the table. It was making him agitated, all he wanted was to catch X, but no. He had no leads.

"You'll catch them, Roy. I believe in you and your team" Akaashi said. They said their goodbyes and hung up, he once again burst out laughing. He hadn't laughed this much in a while, but knowing the detectives were in distress just brought him so much joy.

As he was about to leave, he heard a knock on the window. He quickly turned his head to see Hinata standing outside, waving at him with that stupid grin on his face. Akaashi unlocked the door and let Hinata in, big mistake must I say.

"Keiji-san, good evening! What are you doing out this late? It's pretty dangerous" Hinata asked cheerfully, offering Akaashi some chips.

The other kindly declined. "Needed to buy some stuff. Why are you out, though?", Akaashi watched Hinata stuff his mouth with chips, dropping crumbs all over his clean car.

"Oh, I was heading towards a hotel. I need to sleep somewhere, don't I?" Hinata laughed before continuing to eat.

"How about I drive you there? It will be safer than walking" Akaashi volunteered to help, he wanted to drop him off as soon as possible. Sure, this was a chance, but hurting Hinata? A person who looks up to him, who trusts him and would be totally devastated to know who Akaashi really is?....

Even though Akaashi tried to control himself, Hinata's non-stop talking about God knows what just made him so frustrated to the point where Akaashi almost crashed the car on purpose. He kept on talking and talking, louder and louder, stomping on the precious silence that Akaashi treasured so much.

Akaashi felt it all building up inside of him, there was no going back. Either Hinata shuts up and saves his life or dies painfully.

"Oh! Can I sleepover at your place, Keiji-san? If you agree of course" Hinata suddenly asked, digging his own grave.

"Sure." Akaashi answered through gritted teeth, trying to suppress his emotions. He ended up making a sharp turn, which Hinata immediately started criticizing, joking how he could arrest Akaashi for driving like that.

The trip home was longest ever and Akaashi had never felt so glad to just leave the car and stand outside. Not for long though, Hinata jumped out of the car running towards the front door, bouncing around in excitement. He kept on saying "oh, I can't wait to see your place!", to which Akaashi could only think "no you don't, run while you can".

He wanted to tell Hinata to go away, to leave, but he couldn't. His body, his brain and his whole being was against letting Hinata off the hook.

It hurt inside. For the first time, it hurt Akaashi to even think of hurting such a precious small being, but on the other hand was his raging anger, all his pent up emotions. The latter were much stronger.

"Wow! Keiji-san your place is so cool!" Hinata exclaimed as he ran inside, looking around and admiring Akaashi's minimalistic house interior design.

"Thanks, it's not much but it's cozy" Akaashi said, he dropped the groceries on the sofa and headed towards the kitchen, craving a cup of steaming hot Hibiscus tea (a/n my favorite uwu). He stood there, motionless, waiting for the water to boil so he could relax at least a little bit.

Akaashi's breathing stopped for a second as he heard Hinata move a door handle and open the door that led downstairs. He followed Hinata with his gaze, watched him descend down the stairs, waited for a reaction. His legs moved on their own, the door behind his was shut in no time.

All Akaashi saw was Hinata's back, his fists clenched as he looked around Akaashi's Play Room. There was dried blood on the floor that Akaashi forgot to wash off, his tools were on the table.

"K-Keiji-san, what is this?" Hinata slowly turned to Akaashi. There was no longer a sparkle in his eyes, just confusion. He stared into Akaashi's dark, dead eyes waiting for an answer.

Akaashi slowly walked down the stairs and opened a cabinet, he soaked a cloth in chloroform and sighed loudly. "Hinata, now that you've seen this, there's no going back."

Hinata didn't even have enough time to react before Akaashi turned around and grabbed his waist, pulling him closer and pressing the cloth to his face. Hinata went numb and Akaashi immediately tossed the cloth away.

"I'm sorry, Shoyo" Akaashi whispered before picking his light body up and putting it on his table, strapping Hinata's hands, legs, waist and neck down so he couldn't move.

Akaashi bolted upstairs to pick up everything he would need, he also made sure to drink his damn Hibiscus tea. He sighed again, poor Hinata doesn't even know what awaits him. It took him a while to get ready and set everything up. To tell you the truth, Akaashi didn't even plan to stab Hinata and get it over with. No, after two months he craved much more. He needed to feel alive, to feel happy and satisfied - he needed to make someone suffer.

Hinata awoke faster than Akaashi had anticipated, the other had just finished adjusting the table and stripping Hinata down to just his underwear. "Huh?! Keiji-san?!", Hinata panicked, he couldn't help but notice Akaashi's irritated facial expression.

"You're awake already? I didn't even have time to put my work apron on" Akaashi murmured angrily.

"What are you doing?!" Hinata watched as Akaashi put on his pretty white apron, it still had some blood on it. He kept on screaming questions at Akaashi, making him even angrier.

"Shut up!" Akaashi yelled at Hinata, shutting him up. "Do you ever shut up?! Do I need to sew your mouth shut?!"

"K-Keiji-san... is this some sick joke?" Hinata started trembling in fear, he had never seen Akaashi this angry before.

"Does this look like a fucking joke?! You saw this place, my mistake, I forgot to lock the door. It's your own fault for snooping around and getting your nose into other people's business!" Akaashi angrily stomped to his, now extended, tool table and picked up a needle.

"Keiji-san, I don't understand..." Hinata started breathing heavily. Akaashi turned to him and smiled brightly.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of you, my dear one. I always wanted to torture someone" Akaashi walked closer to Hinata, holding nothing but a long needle.

"Torture?!" Hinata started squirming around, but the straps were too tight, there's no way he could break free. "This isn't funny! I swear if it's you and Kageyama playing a joke on me, I'll kill both of you!"

"Kill me?!" Akaashi burst out laughing. "Honey, Kageyama has nothing to do with this! You fell into a mouse trap! Take a good look at your surroundings, Hinata! You're not getting out of this place alive.."

"Wait.. Keiji-san, there's no way that you're..." Hinata got teary eyed as the realization hit him. "You're not X, right?! I'm just going crazy, right?!"

Akaashi smiled once again, he grinned widely before walking closer to Hinata and staring right into his eyes. "You are absolutely right, Hinata. I am the one everyone's looking for so desperately. The one that's causing everyone to stay inside after 9 PM, the one that Roy wants to find.. it's me"

"You're lying.. Keiji-san you're lying!" Hinata screamed, refusing to believe the harsh reality. "There's no way two of my role models would be killers...."

Akaashi took a step back, chuckling at Hinata's broken dreams. "I'm sorry honey, you'll have to accept that. Though, I have some bad news for you"

"What..?" Hinata managed to ask through the tears that started rolling down his cheeks and onto the cold, metal table.

"I'm going to take my time with you. I'm going to try different methods and see what impact they have on a human body" Akaashi lift up the needle he was holding all this time and smiled.

"If you're going to kill then please just do it quickly! I don't.. I don't want to suffer.." Hinata gave up too quickly for Akaashi's liking.

"No. No way. I don't care what you want, this is about me! This is what I want! All you need to do is scream and beg for mercy" Akaashi finally pressed the needle against Hinata's palm. "I'm going to show you what torture is, Hinata."

Without another word Akaashi started pushing the needle in. He did it slowly, oh how he missed those pained facial expressions. Hinata bit his lip as to not make a sound. Annoyed by his action Akaashi picked up more needles, he pushed another one through his other palm, still not getting a single noise from Hinata.

"So, you're going to be stubborn? We'll see how long you last.." Akaashi spoke as he practically used Hinata as a small cushion for needles. Pushing them deep into Hinata's skin, but the other refused to make a noise, to let out a scream. Hinata was crying, his lip was bleeding for how hard he was biting it, it hurt - it really did.

Akaashi walked back to his tool table and picked up his beloved knife and a small box of salt that he had bought before. Hinata's eyes widened as he saw the knife, he tried getting out of the straps, but to no avail.

"Let's see how long you stay quiet.." Akaashi said as he dragged the knife across his skin softly. "Let's start with your legs, shall we?", Akaashi didn't hesitate to leave a small cut on Hinata's leg. Sure, a cut like that was nothing, but thirty of them should do something, right?

A couple of drops of blood escaped from the small cut, Akaashi licked his lips. He missed that crimson color. One more, two more, three, four, five and so on. Small little cuts soon covered a considerable area of Hinata's pale leg, but the other was still quiet.

"Hmmm, you're not interesting at all, let's step it up a bit" Akaashi said before swinging his knife and slashing Hinata's leg, about 0.5cm deep. Hinata couldn't hold it in and finally cried out. Blood immediately escaped from the wound, running down his leg and dripping onto the floor. Hinata let out another cry he had been holding in.

A smile plastered on Akaashi's face as he watched Hinata squirm around. His agony was music to Akaashi's ears, it satisfied him to his very core. "After two months, finally.. I feel so happy", Akaashi said whilst staring at Hinata. The other was just scared, no other emotion or feeling was left in his body apart from fear.

"Why... Why are you doing this to me? Please, Keiji-san, just let me go.. I'm too young to die.." Hinata managed to say through the tears and pain, he watched as Akaashi started laughing, his cheeks and ears getting red from all of the blood rushing to his brain.

"No one is too young to die, Hinata. Nobody is born innocent, just accept your fate" Akaashi continued laughing, his pessimistic world view once again managed to surprise someone. It has happened before, one of his clients expected Akaashi to have a quite positive view of the world, as a lawyer, he should at least try to see the  good in people, but from the very start he was pessimistic - the only genuinely good person he had in his life was Bokuto.

Akaashi's laughter made something in Hinata snap and instead of just squirming around, he began banging his hands, feet and even head against the metal table. Subconsciously, he knew that the worst was coming. His odd behaviour was soon followed by multiple curse words and threats, but that only futher amused Akaashi.

"You fucker, just let me go!! I'll kill you, I swear!" HInata yelled in despair. His breathing got heavier as he watched Akaashi rip open the box of salt and take a nice handful.

"Finally, you enter stage 2. First stage is pleading for forgiveness, the second stage is anger.." Akaashi said, his voice as calm as ever. As soon as he finished speaking, he pressed the salt against the wound on Hinata's leg. The Younger's eyes widened, his breathing hitched. It felt as if someone started stabbing him with a million tiny needles, but the pain was not great enough to make him scream.

"salt is no good, huh?" Akaashi said to himself, before waking away from Hinata for just a second. He stared at the tools on his table, his eyes caught these very shiny pliers  in the left corned. A sinister smile once again appeared on his face as he took them and turned back to Hinata.

Hinata went pale, his body covered in cold sweat - this was the start of something terrible.
