decorations hung from the tree. it was a happy time of the year. it was supposed to be.

it wasn't as cold as it usually was in Pennsylvania. the wind could still pound on the windows but the snow was nonexistent. almost like jack frost wasn't real.

the brunette should have known better then to belive a folk tale. it was a story for children that she attached to her soul as she grew older.

she sat down on the couch in the living room as she watched the drowning voice of bernard fill the room.

santa claus. the first movie. the best movie.

in jamison's opinion you could never be to old for a christmas movie. yet for a time of a year that she was supposed to be happy and jumpy about she felt herself drowning in her own sorrows.

maybe she was just a very sad person. she was welling in her one self pity that she had brought upon herself and now she was ruining her favorite movie.

" is it cranberry, popcorn, popcorn" she heard from behind her before her sister walked in front of her walking in front of the television screen.

" ask mom" jamison let out trying to move her head to the side trying to see the movie that was playing.

" i did ask her and she said it's cranberry cranberry popcorn popcorn" alyanna let out. jamison gave her a look.

" that's definitely not it" jamison told her. " okay, right! that's what i said" alyanna spoke. this conversation taking away from jamison's current thoughts. it was refreshing.

" i think it's cranberry popcorn cranberry cranberry" jamison told her. " that might work" alyanna spoke finally walking away from the television screen. now giving jamison a clear view of it all.

every year her sister stressed about making the cranberry chains that were filled with popcorn. every year she would wait until the last minute to do it. this year was no different.

it felt normal for this all to happen. it was the day before christmas eve and she was distracting her mind now. she could hear her sister from the living room as she was in the kitchen.

she could hear whenever the girl started stressing out or pricked her finger on the needle on accident. blood spilling decorating the popcorn and the already red cranberry's.

but christmas was in two days so it didn't matter because it was supposed to be the happiest time of the year. the last holiday before new years.
