6th Chapter, and Adhara doesn't even know what she's giving you.

This chapter is just some random stuff about my life.
So yesterday, it was my grandparents' 46th wedding anniversary.
We had some cake, pizza's and other stuff.
I was brushing my teeth, before going to bed.
And then I hear my parents call, "[Insert my irl name here], come here!"
And I go to them, and they ask me to sort out their argument.
And do you know what the argument was about?
About who gets to sleep on the corner of the bed.
I'm not joking, guys! Sometimes, my parents can be more immature than kids.
And then they started validating their reasons to get the better spot to me, and I was just face palming and thinking, What did I get myself into?
I just left, after sometime, 'cause I didn't want to get caught up in the argument.
On a completely unrelated note, this morning, at breakfast, I told my mum a joke, "There's something strange about parents. When you ask your mother for something, she'll tell you to ask your father. When you go ask him, he'll send you back to your mother. In short, you'll have to circulate between your parents a hundred times before they say no. It's their way of torturing you."
I expected her to scold me or something. But she just laughed and said, "At least you have enough nerve to say it straight to my face. We were so scared of my dad that we couldn't even say it to his face till we were seniors!"
Then, insert grandma-defending-grandpa, "It wasn't like that! You could speak up by the time you were her age!"
My mum ignored her, "Whenever he would come home on Saturdays, we would go, 'Great. Now we're gonna get scolded.'"
In comes grandma, "It wasn't like that! You only got scolded for studies!"
And then I turn to grandma, "Ok, you officially lost all faith I had in you. Even I've gotten scolded by grandpa for just TALKING. Imagine how much worse it would've been for mama and my aunts."
And then my mum tells me how her parents were so much stricter. And I believe her.
Why?
Well, you see, I love reading stories. But my grandparents don't support that. The only types of books they support are textbooks. Nothing else. Just textbooks. Once, I asked my grandmother for a fiction book, for my birthday, and she said, "You'll get it."
And I made her promise, but when I asked for it she refused. She reasoned, and I quote, "Books are a waste of time, a waste of space, and a waste of money."
And I argued, "So, you're saying that I should throw out all my school books?"
She shook her head no, and said, "They're the only books you should be reading."
And I was quite young then, so I cried and didn't talk to my grandmother for the entire day. When I told my mother, she promised to get me the book I wanted, because she had loved reading and had faced the same problem. She used to read at night, under the covers, in the light of a flashlight. She was so hungry for reading, that she finished 'Wuthering Heights' in one night.
And it took me four days to finish 'Breaking Dawn.'
It was harder for her, since those days, my family wasn't that well-off. My mother and my two aunts shared a single bed, and my grandpa was out the whole week just to pay for my mother's and her sister's education.
OK, that wasn't funny, but it was terrible for me.
But I'll tell you another funny thing.
When my grandparents' third child was born, and she had to go to school, my grandparents told her, "We don't have enough money to send you to the same school as your older sisters. You'll have to go to a different school."
She refused, because the school they could afford for her didn't have the best facilities.
And she went out, a measly four-year old, and got herself registered at the same school as her older sisters.
I'm not kidding!
She literally did that, and since she was the absolute FAVOURITE of her parents, ( Just like my brother is of our family members ), she got to go to that school, and my grandparents reduced the expenses as much as they could to pay the hefty fees of the school.
I'm ending this chapter now, and I'm sure that I'll see you soon with something new. If you're still around, that is.
Bye!
