note - you are in a zombie apocalypse. Winter is your roommate from college. You both escaped the campus and are looking for survivors and resources.

I was running with Winter as a horde of zombies chased us.

Winter - "Ah shit!" She screamed as she tripped and fell scratching her knee. I stopped and turned around as fast as I could and picked her up. I seen an alleyway we could stop on and hide.

Y/N - "Over there! You see that alleyway?" I said as I turned and ran down it carrying Winter.

We sat and hid behind one of the trashcans as the horde ran right past us. We held our breaths and made zero noise as not the alert them. Once we thought they had passed I got out of hiding and looked both ways before tending to Winter's wound.

Y/N - "Your cut is pretty deep Winnie." I told her as I set my backpack down.

Winter - "Yea. I need alcohol for this wound. Don't want it to get infected." She laughed at the comment.

Y/N - "You know alcohol is hard to come by."

Winter - "I know but I don't want to waste our water bottles, we need that for hydration."

She said as I grabbed one of the bottles and a cotton swab and applied it to her wound.

Y/N - "It's not alcohol, but it does the job." I said smiling at her.

After cleaning her wound I bandaged it up using toilet paper and we headed on our way. We began walking down the street again trying to find a cafe or a grocery store. We walked for about two miles until Winter blurted out something.

Winter - "Do you see that?"

Y/N - "See what?" I asked puzzled and turned my head towards her.

Winter - "It's a store, I think it's a grocery store." She pointed to something in the distance.

I squinted and seen what she was talking about. It indeed was a store, it was a grocery store. It was in a cut so you couldn't really see it. I was surprised she seen it.

Y/N - "Good looking winter! Let's hurry before someone else finds it." I said as we began to run.

We ran to the opening of the door panting. Winter's face was red from all the running and she collapsed on the ground. It was loud enough to get the attention of nearby walkers so I quietly advanced to her.

Y/N - "Woah, are you okay?" I whispered to her. She nodded so I'd know she was awake and alive. I picked her up and carried her to the door. I put my backpack down and went to grab a water.

Y/N - "Drink." I said as I passed her the water bottle.

Winter took hold of the water and took a couple of gulps. Her face wasn't red anymore, and she looked more alive.

Y/N - "I'm guessing you were dehydrated?" She nodded and we got up and tried to open the door. Surprisingly it opened with ease. It was very suspicious.

Winter - "Was someone in here?" She asked me concerned.

Y/N - "I don't know but soon we will find out." I commented as we both went into the small store.

It was full to the brim with stuff. It had food, water, first aid kits, everything. We hit the jackpot.

Winter - "All this stuff? There has to be a catch. There's no way nobody has found this before."

Y/N - "I understand your concerns but, we need to take advantage of this." I said as I grabbed stuff and stuffed my bag.

Winter proceeded to do the same. We stuffed our bags to the brim. We decided to explore to see what else this store has. I seen new clothing and gasped.

Y/N - "Do you see that?" I said as I pointed to the rack of clothes. Winter also gasped and we turned to each other and smiled. We walked over to the clothing and put them on. They seemed like army clothes, but could help us protect ourselves against the zombies. We were too busying trying on clothes to notice someone coming in the store and ambushing us.

??? - "Who are you? And why are you in my store?" The stranger asked us as she pulled out a gun.

We threw our hands up and defense and plead with the stranger.

Winter - "Please don't shoot us! We only came for resources!"

Y/N - "Yea we had almost nothing!" We both pleaded as the woman put her gun down. She stared at winter looking concerned, I guess she noticed her wound on her knee.

??? - "What happened to you?" She said as she pointed towards Winter's knee.

Winter - "I fell while running away from walkers." She responded as the lady headed towards her. She knelt down and slowly unpeeled her bandages. It was bleeding pretty badly.

??? - "Stay here, I'll help her with her wound and make you guys something to eat. Then I can take you guys back to our camp." She responded as Winter and I stared at each other. 'Camp what camp?' I thought as she came back with alcohol and bandages.

Y/N - "What is your name?"

??? - "Karina, Giselle is my Girlfriend. She's not here right now though."

Winter - "Your name sounds so familiar.."

Y/N - "It does." I replied as I thought where I knew Karina from.

School Days - Three Days Before The Breakout.

I was walking around with Winter as we bumped into a girl named Karina. She wore glasses and was pissed we collided.

Karina - "Watch where you guys are going!"

Y/N - "Sorry, it was an accident." I replied as we moved along in the hallway.

Winter - "You were the bitch who got mad at us over bumping into you." She blurted out as Karina looked up at her with a dull expression.

Karina - "Yes I am. But I've changed since then."

Y/N - "We all did." I said as I sat down on the hard cold floor.

I watched Karina tend to Winter's wounds. She did it so perfectly that Winter didn't feel any pain. I smiled seeing Winter happy again.

Winter - "Thank you."

Karina - "No worries, I have some ramen in the back I'll heat up for you guys." She said as she turned around and headed towards the back.

I got up and walked over to Winter.

Y/N - "What do you think we broke into?" I asked her as she lifted up her head and spoke to me.

Winter - "Probably there supplies. This thing is loaded."

Y/N - "Yea, but she also said there is a camp nearby. Are you sure you want to head there?"

Winter - "I don't really know or trust her yet, but she is the best thing we got right now. We are hungry and have no place to sleep, so if there really is a camp I'd love to see it." She said as I nodded agreeing with her.

The door opened and revealed a beautiful smell of ramen. Karina came out with two bowls and handed them to us.

Karina - "Eat up!" She announced as she went back to the room.

And eat we did, the bowls were clean in under five minutes. It was one of the best meals we had since the apocalypse started. We've just been eating canned ravioli and spaghetti. We picked our lips and grabbed the bags when Karina came out again.

Karina - "Ready to head to the camp?" She asked us as she smirked suspiciously and pointed forward.

We headed out and began our walk when a horde of zombies came out of nowhere. Karina was no where to be seen. We began running but everywhere we ran zombies were there. I started to think that this was the end of me and Winter's life. We stood as the zombies cornered in on us and I turned around and face Winter.

Y/N - "There's no way for us to get out of this circle."

Winter - "Don't say that!" She screamed as the zombies grew closer.

I knew we were running out of time, so I decided to tell Winter how I really felt about her.

Y/N - "Winter, I love you. Okay, I'd had a crush on you ever since freshman year in college." I told her as I began to hold her hands as the zombies grew even closer. We knelt down and I tried to cover her as much as possible as we both accepted our fate. We closed our eyes as the zombies were really close right now, and it all went black.
