growing up with everything, there was no reason for mile's to have issues with anyone. if someone disliked him, it was probably one sided. he didn't have enough time, nor did he care about what other people thought. throughout high school, the male had a chill, nonchalant attitude. people would gossip about him, rumours would spread — but he never cared. unlike others, the whispers in classrooms and halls never bothered him. he wasn't insecure, nor did he have anything to worry about. good grades, a spot in the high school football team and his own swarm of fans whom he would hook up with every so often. miles considers caring for other people's opinions a weakness. an act of insecurity, there's no reason why anyone should care what a stranger, or someone with little to no relevance in your life has to say. their opinion is invalid, and he disregards it with little to no attention.
though miles has always been known for his more adventurous side. he likes exploring, and as a young kid he loved looking for danger and situations he shouldn't involve himself in. if it weren't for his motorcycle incident, miles would be exploring the world. but things happen for a reason. he adores a good hike, anything that gets his blood pumping and creates adrenaline. starting off most of his days with a run, he finds peace and serenity outdoors.
at time's miles is excessively overconfident, he claims to know what he's doing and hates to be proven wrong — but just like everyone else, he's learning along the way. he was brought up in a household were being unsure, or having the wrong answer was seen as a weakness. confidence was a good thing and would leave to a prosperous life. the only reason miles passed high school was due to his need to be right. he had to prove people wrong. to not fall into the dumb jock stereotype everyone was subjected with. his overconfidence is known to have cost him, especially when it came to that awful motorcycle crash a few years back. it's something mile's knows he needs to work on, but the desire to be the best in the room is engrained in his brain. trying to remove that would mean changing who he is.
having a soft spot isn't exactly something he's proud of, miles likes to give off a careless vibe. and he does, not giving two fúcks about what others think about him. he's secretly a softy that enjoys being there for others. helping them get through their issues & plights. he wants to be everyone's emotional support, the first person people turn to when they need help. kind hearted, the male truly does have the best in mind for people. he doesn't hesitate when it comes to helping. seeing others smile as a result of his actions warms his heart. miles is a huge softie and would do anything to see people laugh, especially his loved ones.

born to affluent parents, nicolas and sadie monroe miles always had a cozy childhood. he never had to worry about where his next meal would come from, if the electricity would stop working one day. his parents were hard workers — perfectionists might be able to better describe them. they were amazing at their jobs, giving everything one-hundred and ten percent of their effort. if only they tried that hard to be better parents. they were as good as two working parents could be — present at only the important events, working late hours, they were rarely there. and when they were, they passed off their perfectionist values. whilst most normal families may converse about things that happened during the day at dinner, his family played different games. create a story using the last word someone said, random trivia, competing to see who was more skilled at mental maths. it was like survival of the fittest. miles always felt like he had to live up to their standards. when he closed his eyes, the male could see the look of disappointment etched on his parents face. he made his personal conquest to never fail them, the fear of disappointing was far to grand.
in high school, miles had it all. he had a ton of friends, he always got the girl he wanted, he was popular and adored by the mindless zombies that followed his friends around school. a jock, he played for the school team. if he wanted to, he could've gotten drafted for the big sports teams — but all that popularity and fame seemed unappealing. miles had had enough of it through high school, he didn't want to spend the rest of his life with a growing fan base who critiqued everything he did in his life. he was good at everything he studied, demolishing the dumb jock stereotype. the male really had it all if you looked at him from a distance — he had everything, but the one person he really wanted. his best friend. it started off as an innocent crush, but his feelings developed faster than he could think. the more time he spent with her, the faster he fell for her. he couldn't have her, so he slept with other girls to fill the void in his heart. she was always so happy, he didn't want to ruin their friendship by professing his love for her — the last thing he wanted was for it to ruin their friendship.
after overhearing his parents talk about something, the male was willing to risk it all to talk to his best friend. he had planned everything out, flowers and chocolates. he wanted to ask her out on a date. the plan was all set, and he was prepared to ask her some time after school. however the plan was foiled when he found her gushing about some other guy, the sparkle in her eyes was enough to tell him that she was long gone. devastated and most definitely heartbroken, the male got through the school day. he was happy for her, but for himself? not so much. hopping on his motorcycle, he prepared for the journey home like usual — his parent claimed a motorcycle was more efficient than a car. the small drive home had begun like usual, weaving out of roads leading to the school building. though his mind was clouded with thoughts, regret he didn't ask her earlier, angry at himself for wasting a golden opportunity. the male was distracted, his mind elsewhere. he wasn't focused, didn't see the red light, kept driving, until the whole world went dark. a speeding car colliding with his bike, sending him into the air, his body tossed around like a rag doll. both of them were at fault, the driver for speeding and miles for not stopping and watching.
by some miracle he survived the collision. spending a month or two in the hospital, it took him a while to learn how to walk again. his longest scar starts at the nape of his neck and ends halfway down his back. he spent almost two years in pain, recovering. miles still has a long way to go, sometimes forgetting how simple things are done but overall he manages to cope. he hates how he wasn't able to be there for hardin when her husband dies, but makes up for every missed moment by acting as a parental figure to her child.
