Aizawa didn't know why he cared about you so much. I mean, he barely even knew you! You were a new teacher at UA, so you were assigned to student teacher his class for a few weeks before moving on to teaching your own class the next semester. He hadn't treated you specially, but he did notice he didn't immediately hate your presence, which was odd. You were bouncy, carefree, and happy-go-lucky, something that generally did not mix with him. He would never admit it, but he did like the energy you brought to his class, and the kids seemed to love you. You weren't friends, per say, but you got along well enough to manage a class. What he didn't expect though, was you to ask to go patrolling with him, and what he really didn't expect, was his immediate response. He didn't even register that he had said yes until you began celebrating. Aizawa was well and truly baffled at his behavior. How he was softened by you, how he basically agreed to everything you asked of him, and how he enjoyed hanging out with you, even if it was a boring patrol. His affections never seemed to die down, not after the sports festival, not after the attack at USJ, not after the training camp, nothing! In fact, all that happened with every attack was he grew more protective over you, wanting to ensure your safety no matter what. He didn't mind getting hurt, but in his mind, you getting hurt was like a stab to his heart. One day on one of your (now regular) early morning patrols, you had just been walking ahead of him, minding your business as you hummed a tune. He didn't know what came over him, but seeing you so happy, the light from the sunrise illuminating your face, he couldn't help but confess to you.
