ATHENA XIN WATCHED HER REBEL ELDER SISTER AND MOTHER BE PUT TO DEATH THE DAY THE CAPITOL SEIZED CONTROL AGAIN. at seven years old, her father's arms draped over her shoulders in a firm touch, she was powerless to help. and he decided then that those left in the xin family would never be powerless again. athena grew up finally fitting her name considerably well in an attempt to impress her father - athena, the greek goddess of war and wisdom turned into a mortal girl with scarily onyx eyes, a heart that hardened into stone, and sharper than a sword's blade. she became unstoppable.

UNSTOPPABLE ENOUGH TO BE CHOSEN AS A TRIBUTE FOR THE 10TH HUNGER GAMES, SERVING DISTRICT TWO. athena's old man was proud of all the years he spent training his daughter like he was her general from the moment her feet hit the floor in the morning to when her head hit the pillow late at night with an ache in her bones. athena could finally bring them honor and rid them of the tarnished xin name, should she come home victorious. if not, well, then she died for a good cause.

ATHENA HAD A TASTE FOR BLOOD AND SHE WAS READY FOR WAR. she wasn't prepared for a captivating songbird to come flying into her world of rage, calming the unstoppable twister around her. still, athena is forced to remember that there can only be one that comes out of their games alive. but when snow falls, she's also reminded how her anger is powerful enough to melt the cold. after all, the captiol loves nothing more than a tragedy.
