ADELAIDE KNOCKS ON THE DOOR OF ISABELLE'S ROOM, peeking her head in and noticing that Isabelle was sat on her bed, staring down at her phone. The girl glances up, seeing Adelaide by the door. "Hey, Iz." She says as she waves lightly and Isabelle smiles brightly at her, putting her phone down on her lap.

"Hey! What's up?" Isabelle asks as she watches as the girl nervously walks over to her, sitting beside her on the bed. Isabelle turns to her, concern spreading on her face as she could tell that something had happened.

"I need to talk to you about something." Adelaide tells her and Isabelle nods her head, bringing her hand to Adelaide's.

"What's wrong?" She asks, worry in her eyes as she was afraid it was something bad. Adelaide takes a deep breath before moving her eyes to Isabelle's.

"Jonathan came to see me." She admits with a sigh and Isabelle stares at the woman in shock. Isabelle was definitely not thinking her problem would involve Jonathan.

"What?! When?" She asks, sitting up steaught and Adelaide moves her gaze to her hands.

"Last night." Adelaide responds and Isabelle didn't really know what to say.

"Why didn't you say something sooner?" Isabelle questions and adelaide could only shrug her shoulders.

"I was just thinking." She admits and Isabelle looked a bit confused.

"About what?"

"He said he'd get me my powers back." She tells the woman who seemed a bit suspicious of the whole situation.

"In exchange for what?" Isabelle asks, knowing that Jonathan wouldn't just do it out of the goodness in his heart.

"Bringing Lilith back." Adelaide answers and Isabelle's jaw drops for a second before immediately shaking her head

"Are you insane?" Isabelle asks her, they could not risk bringing Lilith back, even if it meant that Adelaide got her powers back.

"Obviously I didn't say yes." She replies with a sigh as she fiddles with her fingers. "Plus, I'm not sure why he wants to bring Lilith back from Edom anyways." Adelaide knew there was something that Jonathan wasn't telling her. She didn't trust him and she knew she shouldn't.

"We'll find another way to get your powers back. Do not accept it." Isabelle responds as they didn't need someone else because connected to Jonathan in some way.

"I won't." Adelaide says as she nods her head. "I just needed to say something to someone." She admits, just needing to get it off of her chest. Isabelle furrows her eyebrows as she stared at the girl.

"Why not tell Alec?" She asks, a little bit confused on why Adelaide had come to her and not her brother. Adelaide shrugs her shoulders.

"I don't want to worry him." She admits, he already had enough on his plate. Plus, he would just be overly protective about her and demand that she didn't take the deal.

"Please tell him so I don't have to carry the burden of this secret." Isabelle says with a groan as she knew she couldn't keep it to herself for long. Adelaide sighs as she nods her head.

"I will, soon." She assures the girl as she stares down at her hands. Isabelle places her hand on the girls leg, squeezing it.

"If Jonathan comes back, alert me okay?" Isabelle asks and Adelaide looks at her, nodding. She knew she should've alerted someone when it happened but she knew if she did, jonathan would've disappeared anyways.

"Of course." Adelaide responds before looking back down. She clenches her jaw as her mind was racked with a bunch of different things. She was not really thinking about taking his deal, but she couldn't really figure out what else to do.

☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎

ADELAIDE WAS SAT AT THE TABLE HAVING BREAKFAST WITH EVERYONE. but she wasn't really eating, she was mainly thinking about Jonathan's deal. She knew it would be an easy way to get her magic back, but she had to take the risk of maybe raising Lilith after they had just gotten rid of her.
"

It's not you, they just don't see a lot of warlocks in here." Alec's voice cuts through her thoughts and she had noticed that both him and Magnus had sat down next to her.

"I can see why." Magnus says as he picks up the pancake before using his magic to change it. Alec sighs as he looks towards Adelaide instead.

"Hey." Alec nudges her, seeing that she was kind of out of it. "You okay?" He asks concerned and she only puts a smile on her face, nodding her head.

"Yeah." She mumbles as she looks towards Isabelle. Jace glances at them, his eyebrows furrowing.

"What was that look?" Jace asks them and Adelaide only looks towards him.

"What look?" She asks, playing dumb and Jace only narrows his eyes at the girl.

"You and Izzy exchanged a look." He points out and Adelaide shakes her head, moving her eyes down to her food in order to avoid eye contact with Jace.

"No, we didn't." Adelaide denied and Jace was not just letting it go. He could tell that she was keeping something from them, he just didn't know what.

"Yeah, you did."

"It's nothing."

"Adelaide." Alec's voice was soft, he didn't want to pressure her but she could feel everyone's eyes. Adelaide let's out a sigh as she clenches her jaw. She knew they would find out eventually.

"Before you guys almost captured him...Jonathan paid me a visit." She admits and everyone stares at her with shocked expressions, well everyone except Isabelle.

"What?" Magnus was now paying attention to the conversation, his eyes solely on Adelaide.

"What did he want?" Alec asks as he squints his eyes a bit.

"He said he'd give me my powers back..." Adelaide starts, trailing off for a moment as she feels everyones eyes on her. "In exchange for helping him bring Lilith back from Edom." She states and there was an abrupt outbursts of arguments.

"That's insane." Clary says, she knew jonathan wanted her for something but to bring Lilith back.. that was something else.

"You aren't going to accept it, right?" Jace asks her and Adelaide reluctantly shakes her head.

"Of course not." Adelaide responds as she picks at her nails. "But, that means there is a way for me to get my powers back. I just have to find it." She points out, even though she has looked and hasn't found anything yet.

"Can't you do it the same way Magnus did?" Alec questions and she only sighs, shaking her head. Magnus frowns as he looks at the group.

"Unfortunately not." Magnus answers for her and everyone was just left reeling in the aftermath of finding out that information. Clarys phone rings, cutting through the conversation.

"Hello?" Clary says as she brings her phone to her ear. "Luke? Who's number is this?" She asks, confused while they all look over at her. "They gave you your badge back?" She questions but suddenly goes silent as her eyes widen. "Oh, my god. Wait, Luke. What about Maia?" Clary removes the phone from her ear, only staring down at it.

"What is it? What happened?" Jace asks her curiously, knowing something was wrong.

"The vampires attacked the jade wolf." She informs them and they all are taken aback.

"What?" Alec asks, hopefully not hearing that right.

"Killed most of Luke's pack." She states and they all just stare in shock. They knew this wouldnt be good because it would most likely begin a war between the two species. Adelaide shakes her head as she brings her hand up to her mouth.

"Oh, my god."

☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎

ISABELLE MAKES HER WAY OVER TO ALEC AND ADELAIDE AFTER RETURNING FROM THE JADE WOLF. She was trying to find some clue, any clue as to who might've done this. Or at least orchestrated it. "Hey." Isabelle says, getting their attention. Alec looks at her curiously.

"Any survivors?" Alec asks her and Isabelle sighs, shaking her head. Adelaide frowns as she looks down at her hands.

"I searched the entire area around the Jade Wolf. I couldn't find anyone." She tells them and Alec nods his head slowly.

"What about Maia?" Adelaide asks, knowing that she couldve very well been at the Jade wolf.

"She's not among the dead. There's no sign of her." Isabelle states as she shrugs her shoulders. She couldn't be sure if Maia was alive or dead.

"Vampires killing werewolves. That's how wars start, Izzy." Alec mutters as he shakes his head. Isabelle was about to say something when she lets out a scoff.

"What the hell is she doing here?" She asks as she watches Heidi walk over to them with a Shadowhunter.

"She said she had some information." The man tells them and Alec stares at him for a moment before moving his gaze to the vampire.

"I'm listening." Alec says, narrowing his eyes at Heidi.

"I know who massacred those werewolves." Heidi tells them and they all just stare at her. Of course they were suspicious because she had come to them fairly quickly.

"This way." Alec says, gesturing Heidi to follow them. He takes them to his office before closing the door behind him. "Why are you so willing to turn on your own clan?" He asks as Heidi sits down on the couch and she only scoffs.

"Well, they're not my clan, not really. I heard them talking about an attack on the wolves and I never thought they would actually do it. And now, I couldn't live with myself if I didn't say something." Heidi tells them and Adelaide felt amused as she stared at the vampire.

"You expect us to believe this?" She asks the woman, this was just making her look more guilty if anything.

"How do you live with yourself knowing that you murdered that tech in that blood truck?" Isabelle questions as she narrows her eyes.

"I couldn't. That's why I brought him back to life. Because I felt terrible." Heidi points out.

"What about praetor nick?" Isabelle adds, not impressed that she was trying to act all innocent when she wasn't.

"You don't understand what it's like to be, drained of blood, murdered and then wake up days later and you have no idea where you are. You feel like an animal. Alone and so thirsty and I just couldn't control myself." Heidi explains to them and Adelaide rolls her eyes. Her and Isabelle both turn to Alec who was just thinking to himself.

"Oh, tell me you don't believe her. She held Simon's family hostage." Isabelle points out with a scoff as she did not believe this whole sob story.

"And she's just bat shit crazy." Adelaide adds as she just didn't like the vampire.

"I still feel so terrible about that. Lilith was the one who talked me into that. I was actually getting better at the praetor until your blonde friend kidnapped me." She tells them and Alec sighs, bringing his hand up to his face.

"Jace."

"Can I please get another chance? Look, I am not saying that I'm a girl scout. I just thought that... I hoped that you could forgive me." Heidi admits and all of them just stared back at her.

"Never gonna happen." Isabelle scoffs as she crosses her arms against her chest.

"Why. You forgave Raphael." Heidi points out and Alec snaps his head towards his sister. Adelaide also looked at her curiously.

"What?" He asks, not knowing what they were talking about.

"She didn't tell you. Raphael is the one that brought me back. He kept me locked into eh DuMort to run experiments on me. He tortured me for days and then your sister just let him go." She explains to them and Adelaide raises her eyebrows a bit. But she knew the girl was just saying this to distract them.

"Is this true?" Alec questions, his tone firm.

"Alec, irs not that simple." Isabelle retorts as there were a lot of components that lead to her letting Raphael go.

"I'm sorry, I didn't come here to start a fight. I just want to help." Heidi admits and Alec sighs as he looks back at the vampire.

"If we give you a clean slate. Will you ID the vampires who attacked the jade wolf?" Alec asks her, still a little bit suspicious on her attentions. But Heidi smiles as she nods her head.

"It would be my honour."

☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎

ADELAIDE WAS SAT ON THE COUCH IN MAGNUS' HOTEL ROOM, he had lost his apartment to Lorenzo when he took the magic. She swore she was going to kill that man. Magnus could see she was anxious about something as she just tapped her foot against the floor. "We will find a way to get your powers back, buttercup." Magnus assures her as he wasn't going to rest until he found a way to restore her abilities. Adelaide only stares down at her hands, nodding her head.

"I know." She mumbles as she just picks at her nails. Magnus furrows his eyebrows as he moves closer to the woman.

"You're not thinking of taking Jonathan up on his deal, are you?" Magnus asks, not needing her to get trapped in something that she didn't need to. Adelaide meets his eyes.

"No..." Adelaide trails off for a moment before letting out a sigh. "Maybe." She admits as she sits up, bringing her hands to her face. "What if I double cross him? Say I'll help him but when he gives me my powers, I just don't bring Lilith back." She suggests and Magnus was very wary of the idea.

"That's one hell of a risk." Magnus points out and Adelaide only rubs her face.

"I know.. I just don't know what else to do." She admits, she had looked everywhere and couldn't figure out another way to get them back unless she asked Lilith herself. And she was definitely not going to do that.

"We will think of something. Just give me a little time." He tells her and she nods her head before she notices that Magnus was staring down at his hands and he looked a bit pale.

"Are you okay?" Adelaide asks him, worried about him. Magnus puts on a smile as he nods his head.

"Perfectly fine." He replies as he clears his throat. "Just adjusting to Lorenzo's magic." Magnus admits and Adelaide did not believe him at all.

"You don't look fine." She points out and he only reaches over to grab her hand, giving it a squeeze.

"Nothing to worry about, okay?" Magnus tells her and she narrows her eyes for a moment.

"Okay..." Adelaide decides to let it go for the minute. "I mentioned marriage to alec." She pipes up and Magnus widens his eyes a bit, shock written on his face.

"Marriage?" He asks as he was taken off guard. Usually she was the one to avoid those types of topics.

"I don't even know why. I don't even think I'm ready for that." Adelaide admits as a sigh  leaves her lips. Magnus nods his head slowly.

"What did he say?" Magnus questions, wondering how Alec responded to it. She only shrugs her shoulders.

"Nothing much, really."

"Well, you two have plenty of time to talk about your future. No need to rush it." Magnus points out as they didn't need to get married right away, they could take the time to talk about it.

"Yeah." Adelaide replied with a sigh before looking at him. "We'll find someone for you." She assures him and she could see that Magnus wasn't all that fond of the idea.

"I don't need help, thank you very much." Magnus denies as he really did not want her help, he'd rather ask Jace for help and that was saying something.

"Come on. I'm great at matchmaking." Adelaide tells him and Magnus scoffs, shaking his head.

"I don't think so. Remember when you set me up with that young warlock." Magnus says, almost grimacing just thinking about it. Adelaide looks at him amused, knowing how much he hated it.

"He was two hundred years old, barely young." Adelaide points out as most people don't make it that far. Magnus only raises his eyebrows at the girl.

"In comparison to me, young." Magnus states and Adelaide rolls her eyes.

"Says the man who crushed on Alec when he first saw him." She retorts, knowing the warlock had a crush before she started dating Alec.

"That was different." Magnus denies and she could only narrow her eyes at him.

"How?"

"Crushing and being with someone that young is different." He tells her and she crosses her arms against her chest.

"Not really but whatever you say." Adelaide says with a shrug of her shoulders. Magnus looks at her, biting the inside of his cheek as he could already see the gears moving in her brain.

"Please, no matchmaking." He pleads as he really didn't need more annoying dates. Adelaide only brings her hands behind her back.

"I can't make any promises." She teases him with a smirk playing on her lips. Magnus can only roll his eyes at the girl, shaking his head before walking away from her.

☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎

ADELAIDE HAD GOT A CALL FROM ALEC SAYING THAT MAGNUS WAS IN THE HOSPITAL. Of course she had rushed right over because she was worried about him. He didn't go into much detail, most likely wanting to explain it to her when she got there. As she runs into the hospital room, she sees that magnus was lying unconscious on the bed, Alec standing next to him.

"What happened?" She asks as she stops in her step. Alec looks over at her, hurt in his eyes as he felt bad for her. He knew how close they were and seeing him like this must be really hard for her.

"He just collapsed and started seizing." Alec informs her and Adelaide moves to stand next to the hospital bed. "His heart stopped." He states and Adelaide could feel her blood run cold for a moment as she just stared down at magnus.

"But hes okay, right?" Adelaide asks as she needed him to be okay. She couldn't get through this world if she didn't have him.

"Catarina said he should be fine if we take the magic out of him." Alec tells her and adelaide furrows her eyebrows, a little bit confused as she glances at Alec.

"What's wrong with the magic?" Adelaide asks curiously and Alec sighs as he crosses his arms against his chest.

"He's rejecting it." He admits and Adelaide frowns. She knew that could possibly happen but she was hoping that it wouldn't. "It's killing him." Alec states and Adelaide brings her hands up to rub her face.

"Damn it." She mutters as she stares down at magnus. "Why didn't he say anything?" Adelaide asks, almost to herself as she didn't understand why he didn't say something earlier. She could have tried to help him.

"He probably knew that we would have to take it back from him." Alec points out and she slowly nods her head. She knew Magnus losing his magic for a second time would hit him hard.

"Yeah, it'll be hard for him to accept." Adelaide agrees as she puts her hand on Magnus's shoulder. Alec looks down at the ground, guilt covering his face.

"I'm sorry." He apologized and Adelaide furrows her eyebrows as she turns to face the man.

"For what?" She asks him as she moves over to him, trying to look at him but he was just avoiding her eyes.

"The only reason he lost his magic because he didn't want me to lose my parabatai." Alec explains to her and adelaide frowns before shaking her head.

"Hey." Adelaide nudges his chin with her thumb so he was now looking down at her. "Magnus helped because he wanted to. No one made him."  She assures him, Magnus never did anything unless he decided to. She learned that very early on within meeting him.

"I still feel like this is my fault." Alec admits and Adelaide let's out a small sigh before shaking her head, taking his hand in hers and giving it a soft squeeze.

"It's not." She denies as she smiles up at him, tilting his head. "We'll figure something else out to help him." Adelaide says as she glances over towards Magnus.

"How are you holding up?" Alec asks as he runs his hand along her arm. He knew Jonathan's deal had messed with her head.

"Okay, I guess." She replies before looking back at him. "I'm sorry if I scared you, talking about marriage." She tells him and Alec only stares at her for a moment before shaking his head.

"No, you didn't. I was just caught off guard." Alec admits as he looks down at her before his eyes grow of curiosity. "Would you want get married?" He asks her as she never really gave a straight answer either.

"Maybe, I haven't really thought about it." Adelaide admits as she shrugs her shoulders before turning to look towards Magnus instead. Alec bites the inside of his cheek, fiddling with his fingers.

"Me neither." Alec lies as he looks down at the floor as Adelaide moves to stand next to Magnus in his hospital bed.

"I'm here, Magnus." Adelaide whispers as she brushes his hair out of his face before moving her hand down to his. "You're gonna be okay." She assures him, closing her eyes. She knew she had to do something to get his magic back. But she knew there was really only one person who could give back his original magic back.

Asmodeus.
