6. Cool

Taehyung felt the same surge of insecurity he felt when he was in Hoseok's body. Like something was pulling him back from feeling certain emotions. First instance, Yoongi doesn't show any sort of kindness or fear in his expression. His face always kept a calm expression and at the very most probably a smug smile.

Taehyung arrived at school early today. Not because Yoongi normally arrives early (in fact, he gets to school pretty late everyday), but because Taehyung had a plan in his head.

It wasn't long before he spotted the younger getting off the bus, eyes tired from napping in the bus. Taehyung quickly approached Jungkook before he entered the school doors.

Grabbing onto the boy's hand, the boys slipped into the bushes.

"What the-? Yoongi?" Jungkook stuttered, confused.

"Follow me." Taehyung said shortly, not waiting for a response from Jungkook.

Honestly speaking, Taehyung had no idea how this plan got into his head. It was like the rebel in him sprang to life and he suddenly wanted to skip school. Though slightly scared, Taehyung was certain school was a lot worse.

"Wait! Are we skipping school?" Jungkook squeaked, a little hesitant with following Taehyung.

"Oh, c'mon. It's just one day." Taehyung patted lightly on Jungkook's shoulder.

Taehyung always knew Jungkook loved lamb skewers. Unfortunately, the only place they could have lamb skewers nearby is around an hour away by car from where they lived. Hence, Jungkook never had much chance to eat lamb skewers. Luckily, words have spread at school that Yoongi had been secretly driving underage.

Taehyung led Jungkook to Yoongi's car, parked on one of the parking spots (perhaps one of the teachers').

"Wait... hyung... Is that your car?"

"Sort of." Taehyung blinked, remembering that morning with Yoongi's father. His father, very much like Yoongi, seemed cool. When Taehyung realized Yoongi lived far from school, he asked his father whether he could drive him to school. Without any words, the man looked at Taehyung suspiciously while throwing him his keys. "Well... it's my dad's but we share it sometimes."

"Woah... that's... cool." Jungkook stuttered, getting in the car in hesitation. "Are you sure this is alright though? I mean... neither of us are eighteen yet."

"It's fine." Taehyung assured, making sure he was confident with himself. "I've been driving for a while. It's easy." Though, truthfully, Taehyung still couldn't get over the fact that he knew how to drive a friggin' car. Well... more like Yoongi's body knew how to drive a friggin' car.

With a little help with the GPS in Taehyung's phone, the boy was able to find a nice lamb skewer restaurant.

"Hungry?" Taehyung raised his eyebrows cooly at the younger.

Jungkook's face lit up the second he realized where they were. "Oh my gosh, I was regretting skipping breakfast today. YES!"

"Hang on, hyung. This is a pub."

"What?" Taehyung peeked in the window, which seemed to have a ton of alcohol drinks displayed on the wall. There were also several tough dudes in there. What's worse is that, there was even a sign that specifically said AGES UNDER 18 PROHIBITED.

Taehyung's heart sank at that as he mentally cursed. Though, a part of him still had hope. "Hey, Jungkook. Do you know who am I?"

Jungkook blinked, confused. "Yoongi?"

Taehyung remembered Yoongi's favorite nickname. "That's right. Min Yoongi Genius Jjiang Jjiang Man Bong Bong. So we're gonna do what we want and get our food, right?"

The younger scratched his head, worried. "But what if-"

Taehyung shushed the younger, smirking while putting his arm around Jungkook's shoulder. "Hey, leave it to me, kid. I can handle this."

The two stepped into the pub, with several stares from the bartenders.

Casually, Taehyung took a seat on a stool, Jungkook following. His eyes immediately darted to a cocktail on one of the wall signs.

A male bartender approached the two. "Hello, boys. What would you two like to have today?"

"Umm...." Jungkook nervously bit his lip, causing the bartender to glance at him with suspicion.

Taehyung felt a tingle in his chest, realizing that Yoongi probably had some knowledge with cocktails. "Ah. Yeah. We'd like two Irish Bombs please."

Immediately, the suspicion faded from the man as he nodded his head with a polite smile. "Alright."

"Oh, and one serving of lamb skewers." Taehyung added, pointing at the menu. At that moment, he realized it also wrote something else along. "Wait... hang on..."

Realizing what Taehyung was looking at, the bartender chuckled. "Oh! The lamb skewers are thirty percent cheaper and double the amount if couples do a kiss. It's our event this month."

Taehyung and Jungkook exchanged glances at each other. The younger subtly shook his head. "Ah, um. No thanks. We'll still have the lamb skewers though." Taehyung brushed away the offer.

The bartender nodded his head as he finished their orders. Taehyung internally wished Jungkook had said yes to the kissing event or whatever that was. Perhaps he was just shy and the fact that Yoongi was a little bit of a stranger to him as well.

"Um... Yoongi hyung." Jungkook abruptly whispered to the older. "I've never drunk cocktail before..."

"Well, I'm gonna teach you." Taehyung smiled sweetly at the younger. Taehyung knew Jungkook wasn't a fan of wine.

"You see, once they drop the cream in the glass and serve, it hardens immediately. So you gotta drink all of it one shot." Taehyung quickly drank the glass until the glass was empty, earning a sharp sound of the shot glass. Hurriedly, the younger followed along, throwing the questions aside.

"Annnnd this is an Irish Bomb."

Jungkook blinked, processing the taste. Surprisingly, the boy liked the taste. "OH. It's good!"

Taehyung couldn't help but smile at the younger's reaction. "See? It's good right?"

"It's so much better than I thought."

"Better than banana milk, huh." Taehyung smirked, teasing the boy.

"Okay, maybe just a little." Jungkook rolled his eyes, smiling.

Just then, something caught the corner Taehyung's eye. It was a piano. Taehyung had no idea there were pianos in pubs. "Are we allowed to play the piano?" he asked the bartender.

"Oh, sure! Usually we hire some musicians to play on it but not on mornings. You can try it out."

To be honest, Taehyung had no clue how to play the piano and the only instrument he knew how to play is the saxophone. Shouldn't be that hard... Taehyung thought to himself as he and Jungkook walked up to the piano at the corner.

"You know how to play?" Jungkook's eyes lighted up in amusement.

Luckily, Taehyung felt a surge of familiarity through Yoongi's fingers. Yoongi definitely knew very well how to play the piano. Swiftly, yet effortlessly, the older's fingers automatically pressed the keys as he started to play with his eyes closed. A beautiful, mellow tone filled the pub. Strangely, Taehyung was unfamiliar with the song, almost as if...

"Hyung, did you write this song? It's beautiful." A surprised smile grew on the younger's lips as he turned to look at Taehyung.

"Yup." Taehyung responded with pride.

"Oooooh, what's it called?"

Taehyung froze in thought. "It's called I Need U." Because, clearly, all Taehyung needed was Jungkook to be on his side. After all, that was what he was chasing after all this time.

After a few more times, Jungkook quickly memorized the melody as he started to hum along. In fact, the younger had started adding bits and pieces of his own lyrics to the song, making it better and better. Eventually, Jungkook started to sing along to the piano with his beautiful voice, perfecting the song.

At last, when the two were done, they were surrounded by a round of applause from the pub. Taehyung and Jungkook, whom were too focused in the music to realize their surroundings, exchanged surprised glances. After, they both broke into laughters.

"Y'know what." Jungkook slurred, eyes boring into Taehyung's. "I'm gonna fucking do the kissing event thing."

"Wh-" Before Taehyung could react, Jungkook leaned in to peck the older on the lips.

Taehyung blinked, surprised at how soft his lips were as the two exchanged a glance. Suddenly, Jungkook gasped. "OH SHIT. I'm SO sorry, hyung! I don't know why I reacted that way. It's just... you reminded so much like someone I like and- oh gosh I'm a mess! I swear I'm not into you. I like you as a friend and I have a crush on someone else-"

The older quickly embraced the younger before he felt any more guilty. "Jungkook-ah. I forgive you, alright? Also, it's my fault to make you drink without your consent. I should've done that. Let's just forget all about this like it never happened, okay?"

Jungkook sniffed as he scratched his head in embarrassment. "A-alright. Thanks for... y'know, forgiving me and such. I'm glad we became friends."

"No probs, kid." Taehyung sweetly smiled back, arms around the younger's shoulder.

The two heard light crying sounds as they turned to look at the bartender, watching them from aside. "Oh!" He sniffed. "Sorry, it's just that... that was the sweetest thing I've ever seen." The bartender then placed the plate of lamb skewers on the table. "I know you guys aren't couples or anything, but I'll still add the thirty percent discount. Please enjoy!"

Taehyung and Jungkook exchanged glances. "Thank you!" Jungkook smiled shyly.

"Well I guess things aren't going so bad after all." Taehyung chucked as the younger laughed along. And so, the two cheered with their skewers as they started eating, savoring the juicy meat. It wasn't long before the pub filled with the boys' chats and laughters.

To Taehyung's surprise, the two had been hanging around in the pub for hours. At last, the two decided it was time for their next destination as they said their goodbyes to the friendly bartender, stepping out the pub.

Jungkook hesitantly watched Taehyung as he started the car. "Are you really okay to drive?"

Taehyung scoffed, rustling Jungkook's hair. "I'll be fine. I've done this many times." The older noticed Jungkook shifting uncomfortably in his seat, "Are you alright, Jungkook?"

"Yeah... just a little nervous." Jungkook mumbled.

"Why?"

The younger sighed. "Well... prom is coming soon and... I'm not sure if I'm ready."

Taehyung's heart melted at the kid. He knew how much Jungkook was looking forward to prom. "Awe no, why not?"

"Well... I don't have a partner..." The boy replied softly.

"You could, ask your crush?" Taehyung suggested.

The younger rapidly shook his head. "No! I don't have the guts to do that! I don't even know if he likes me that way."

"Hey. I'm sure he'd be really really happy to go with you." A part of Taehyung knew he was telling it in his own perspective. Because he would literally do anything to go to the prom with Jungkook.

"Thanks, hyung."

So, where to next?"

The younger shrugged, looking at the time. "Dunno... but school's almost over. Maybe we should get back home."

"You're right."

"Well, I'll see you at class tomorrow?"

"Well... umm... maybe not."

"Why not?"

"Cause I'm meeting Jimin during class to-"

"Jungkook?" Jungkook's mother yelled from the house, angry. "Explain why the teachers are saying you're absent in class?!"

Immediately, Taehyung stepped forward. "Ms. Jeon. It was my fault. I took your son out to play. It won't happen again."

Taehyung internally felt extremely bad for placing a terrible image to Yoongi. Surprisingly, his mother let him go quite easily. "Oh, it's alright. I was just worried he got kidnapped or something. Sometimes kids need a break. I understand."

Even Jungkook was surprised at his mother's response. "Y-you're not mad at me?"

"Well, a little. But to be fair, I did skip school a lot back in my days to hang out with hot badass men like him." She whispered loudly, referring to Yoongi.

Jungkook rolled his eyes. "Mom... it's not what you think."

The woman chuckled. "I know. It's Mr. Nice Guy you're crushing on, right?" Taehyung raised his eyebrows, wondering who she was referring to.

At last, the boy's cheeks flushed pink as he lightly pushed his mom in the house. "Alright, alright... that's enough, mom." Shyly, the boy mumbled to Taehyung. "Bye, Yoongi hyung. Thanks a lot for for today."

"No probs. You need the break. Especially from what happened yesterday." Taehyung replied, smiling.

"Hey, thank you for standing up for me. It was really cool of you."

"If Seungjae ever comes back to bully you, call me will ya? Gosh, what a dick, huh."

Jungkook chuckled as he waved the older goodbye. "Don't think he'll ever come back. You totally showed him. Oh well, see ya!"

Taehyung smiled to himself as he watched the younger step in the door. As the older walked to the car, he couldn't help but wonder who Jungkook was crushing on. To his luck, his mother had dropped a hint that he was Mr. Nice Guy. So, obviously, it made sense to assume that it was Jimin.

Jimin was known as the class angel or fairy, as he was equally nice to everyone - students, teachers, and even the staff members. Heck, he'd bring snacks to school and share them with the whole class every single day. He was always helping people out and never did he lose temper to anyone.

Taehyung gasped as he remembered, Jungkook was also meeting Jimin to skip class tomorrow. Perhaps... a date?

The boy furrowed his eyebrows. "Well, I guess I'll find out tomorrow." he whispered to himself.

And so, the next day, Taehyung woke up as Jimin.

{On a serious note, don't drunk drive or drive underage} <-- even though Jungkook totally thought that was cool and stuff - but don't risk your lives, y'all!
