15⋆Change

A war has broken out in the apartment on the third floor.

Wooyoung's voice seems even louder than usual, and Yeosang's eyes are rolling back in endless loops while he keeps sighing heavily. San is sitting awkwardly on the couch, not saying a word - and it's clear to see that he wants to get up and leave, but he's afraid to do so.

Yeosang knew he was in trouble, as soon as the word boyfriend had left his mouth. But in the moment he didn't care - now, is a different story. Wooyoung had been pestering him with questions, not giving up since the new relationship came so unexpected.

If he should ever be given even two minutes of silence to actually think about it, Yeosang will probably end up being just as surprised himself. But when he was still lying in bed with Hyunjin, and the other had asked if Yeosang finally was his - he didn't hesitate to saying yes.

"Are you out of your fucking mind?" Wooyoung shouts, while frustrated hand-gestures are being thrown all around him. "Hwang Hyunjin? You must be kidding me! Tell me you're kidding me!"

With another loud sigh, Yeosang shook his head. He understands why Wooyoung is reacting the way he is - he was there when Hyunjin tried to pull Yeosang away from not only him, but also life overall. But that was back then. That was years ago...

"He has changed," Yeosang then said, "And so have I. Can't you just be happy for me?"

"Happy? How do you expect me to be happy that you're dating that fucking psycho?" Wooyoung's eyes flickers between Yeosang and San, trying to get some backup from the other blonde.

But Yeosang doesn't feel intimidated by that. San doesn't know anything about Hyunjin, so what should he say anyway? And for once, San isn't saying anything. No rude or snide comments. He just stays silent, with his hands folded in his lap - probably praying that he can get to escape this uncomfortable situation as soon as possible.

A sudden silence from both ends, is suddenly stopping the fight. With a glare Wooyoung's way, Yeosang takes this as his opportunity to leave. But just as he's about to walk into his bedroom, Wooyoung speaks again.

"Don't bring him over. Ever." The blonde's voice has calmed down, almost too much - to the point where it's colder than Yeosang has ever heard before.

"Don't worry, never planned to," Yeosang replies, looking over his shoulder and catching the disappointed glare Wooyoung is looking at him with.

Even with the door closed, Wooyoung's voice is still heard clearly throughout the apartment. Yeosang has cuddled up in bed, staring at the walls while listening to San and Wooyoung arguing in the living room.

To say that San for once is taking Yeosang's side would be an overstatement, but at least he is trying to calm Wooyoung down. Not that it's going very well though. Wooyoung is still extremely upset, as he keeps 'swearing to fucking God' and telling San that he has no idea what kind of mess Yeosang is getting himself into.

But Yeosang knows exactly what mess he's chosen to walk straight back into - the arms of the only one who ever truly understood him. The only one who ever truly loved him.

Being with Hyunjin is like constantly switching between night and day. One moment he is so soft and gentle, but the next - possessive and with flames shooting from his eyes.

Yeosang has already learned that if there's one thing Hyunjin doesn't like, it's Yeosang being on his phone too much when they are together. Not that he did it much to begin with, no one is texting him anyway, besides Wooyoung - and even that has become something so rare these days.

Hyunjin has always been a jealous type, Yeosang knew that when he chose to go back to him. But as he doesn't want to upset his new boyfriend, Yeosang has begun to simply turn his phone off and leave it in his jacket, when he visits the older.

"I remember seeing your photos in the tabloids, and on the internet, when you were dating that fashion guy," Hyunjin says one night, his arms wrapped around Yeosang from behind, as they're sitting cuddled up in bed. "I never understood what you saw in someone like that?"

Letting the question hang unanswered in the air, Yeosang chews his lip while wondering how to respond in the right way. He snuggles closer against Hyunjin's chest, and receives a few kissing in his hair for doing so. Hyunjin's fingers are stroking down Yeosang's chest, making him hum softly from the gentle touch, and he briefly forgets the question Hyunjin had asked him.

"Yeosang."

"Sorry..." Yeosang mumbles, a bit startled by the harsh tone in Hyunjin's voice. He quickly wraps his fingers around Hyunjin's, to assure him that he is the only one he wants. "I honestly don't know either..."

It is a lie, obviously. Even now, Yeosang still remembers the days Lucas was the one who made him smile. Despite their differences, and the stupid arguments whenever Lucas' temper got the best of him - and of course, the world Lucas lived in, which Yeosang never felt he would fit into - they did spend two years together, and Yeosang wouldn't have been without them.

But thinking about those memories only brings pain. The pain of losing, the pain of all the mess with Jun and Seonghwa and... Just everything. If only Yeosang had been able to control himself, to not let his constant longing for something more, for being loved, get in the way of him seeing that he already had it all.

And with this thought in mind, the next words don't scare him the way they used to.

"I'm glad you came to your senses," Hyunjin then whispers, his voice softening up again. "I would've waited forever for you, if I had to. You and I were made for each other, Yeosang. And no one else should ever get to touch you, the way I do."

Yeosang smiles, as he turns around in Hyunjin's embrace. Looking into the eyes that used to fighting him, he feels at peace - at home. He nuzzles his nose against Hyunjin's, before leaning in to kiss his lips.

"No one ever will," he then whispers back.

Wooyoung's happy demeanor has changed around Yeosang, the disapproval of his choice is shining like a spotlight from the blonde's eyes. Their friendship seems to crack, and maybe it's only a matter of time before it falls apart completely. On the other hand, San seems more pleasant to be around at least, now that Wooyoung is paying more attention to him, and wants them to spend more time together, without Yeosang.

And Yeosang is also thrilled about that decision. But even with their different opinions on the subject of Hwang Hyunjin, there is one thing Yeosang still owes to Wooyoung. And himself.

"Wooyoung?" he calls out, as he hears the blonde coming home from work.

Wooyoung walks into the living room, slouching his body, almost dragging his leather briefcase behind him. Another dreadful day at the office, with an endless stream of numbers that are imprinted on his face, as the dark circles under his eyes.

"Yes?" Wooyoung replies, seemingly not caring all that much.

With a long sigh, he throws himself onto the couch, legs up and covering his eyes with his arm.

"I took the job," Yeosang then says, peeking over at his friend.

"What?" Suddenly Wooyoung is up again, almost running to the table where Yeosang is sitting. "The job at the kindergarten?"

Only the smallest nods get to fall with the movement of Yeosang's head, before Wooyoung has pulled him up from the chair, and into a big hug. And right there, Yeosang regrets how he's been acting towards Wooyoung lately. He suddenly realizes just how much he's missed having his best friend by his side.

"Woo..." he says, daringly using the nickname he has left unspoken for days, "I know you don't agree with some of the things I've chosen... But I... I promise you, everything is fine. And I'm very excited for this new job."

A smile dances at the corners of Wooyoung's lips, as he lets go of Yeosang again. Deliberately he avoids getting anywhere near close to talking about the one thing that is trying to tear them apart, as he swings his arm around Yeosang's shoulder and congratulates him with a big grin.

"It's going to be good for you!" he then adds.

"I hope so too," Yeosang agrees with a nod. "Seems like everything is finally coming together!"

But blinded by what he tells himself is love, Yeosang fails to remember that nothing will come together, with Hyunjin in his life.

Everything, will be left broken.
