Busan.
They had finally arrived after a bit of driving, silence taking over both vehicles.
Everyone wasn't sure on what to do nor of what to say.
Regardless, they all made it to Busan in one piece, parking their cars by a motel they decided to spend the night at.
"Final day, boys!" Seokjin said when he exited the vehicle, throwing his arms in the air to stretch out his muscles. "Let's have fun! Let's not worry or think about anything!"
"Actually," Jeongguk butted in, waiting until they all gathered. "Me and Kook wanted to go visit our mom, so . . . It won't be anything long, not that it should matter how long we take, but we just wanted to visit her since she's here in Busan now."
"When did you guys discuss this?" Namjoon inquired.
"We were texting each other in the car. We figured if we looked busy doing something that you guys wouldn't want to talk to us." Jungkook shrugged. "And we haven't seen her in awhile which shame on us, she's our mom."
"Hmm," Seokjin let out a silent sigh. "Well, we can't stop you and it's not like you guys are actually asking us if you can see your mom." He chuckled. "Just go. We're going to get some lunch."
Jeongguk nodded. "Can we take one of your guys cars?" He asked.
Within a heartbeat, Namjoon pressed his index finger to his nose, looking over at Hoseok who was in the mist of doing just that. "I beat you." Said Namjoon, sighing in relief that they weren't taking his car.
Hoseok looked over, cursing under his breath. "Damn it. Fine, I guess, but don't ruin anything or you will pay for it with your pro-football money." He warned.
"Mhmm, sure, Hand Soap." Jeongguk smirked and grabbed the keys once they were handed to him. "Thanks anyways."
"Jeongguk's driving? Oh my god, I'm losing my car." Hoseok frowned, furrowing his brows. "Wait, did he just . . . Call me Hand Soap? I honestly thought we were done with the nicknames."
"I think it's just the way he is." Jimin answered, eyes watching both twins enter the latter's vehicle. "Your car is so going to get totaled for sure."
On the other hand, the Jeon Twins got into Hoseok's car and started it up, waving off the rest of the group before leaving the scenes.
"You think that she'll be happy to see us?" Jungkook wondered. He was curious on what their mother would think after not seeing them in so long.
That question made Jeongguk laugh a bit. "I sure would hope so, ya know, she birthed us and whatnot. It just kind of makes sense she would want to see us."
"I hope she still lives there. If she doesn't, what do we do?"
"Just knock on every door around until she answers."
"That's a lot of time we would waste."
"Sure is but do we actually want to go back to the group? I think not." Jeongguk shrugged. "They're cool and all but I just . . . I don't really want to spend too much time with them. I feel like we're being set up."
"Set up? Now, Gguk, take a moment and think of what you just said and how actually ridiculous you sound." Jungkook commented. "Those idiots could set us up?"
"I mean, we're not exactly smart so I assume they can."
"This is what you think about?" It was Jungkook's turn to laugh.
"But think of it, I see Taehyung after many years, I show my junk, they don't care that we're leaving the group for a bit. To me, it just doesn't connect." Jeongguk uttered, his eyes on the road.
"Wait," Jungkook's thin lips parted. "When did you show your junk? The fuck were you doing?"
"Oh yeah, funny story."
"I'm not sure if I want to hear this or not."
"Well, you're going to. When I drank, I decided to get shit-faced drunk and I guess I was too hot. How did you not remember? Didn't we share a room?"
"We did but doesn't mean I watched you strip ass naked. Who did you show?" Jungkook was concerned at this point on why the hell his brother was flashing people.
"Hyungs." Jeongguk said without the specifics.
"You are aware that they're all older than we are, correct? Which hyungs did you show and when do you refer to them formally?"
"Wow, you just don't stop asking questions." Jeongguk rolled his eyes. "Jin, Namjoon, and Hoseok. It's when you, Yoongi, and Jimin all went to get breakfast before dropping mine."
"Hmm, well, that answers one of my questions. Anyways, I know you don't want to talk about it but, um, I just want to . . . Um,"
"Spit it out already." Jeongguk sounded a bit on edge on what Jungkook was gonna ask. He had a deep feeling on what was going to be brought up.
"Well, I didn't get to . . . See him so-"
"He looks great." Jeongguk spilt. "His hair is naturally brown, long, he looks healthy . . . Not too different from when we last saw him but, hmm, better?"
"Really? Blond suited him so much."
"Sure did but I don't want to talk about it if that's okay with you. I know I sound like a crybaby but it stresses me out. So, like, can we drop it?"
"I'm sorry, we don't have to." Jungkook replied, placing his hand on Jeongguk's shoulder, wanting to comfort him.
For the rest of the ride, they turned on some music and drove while jamming to it. The two didn't speak too much after that, it wasn't awkward, just silent as they bobbed their heads here and there.
When they arrived at their destination, both exited Hoseok's car, making sure it was locked because the last thing they needed was someone stealing it.
"Is it bad that I'm nervous?" Asked the younger of the two. "I mean, we haven't really kept up with her and spoken to her like we should."
Jeongguk pursed his thin lips in thought. "Well," he started. "She cared more about dad coming back than she did us."
Jungkook was unsure on how he could respond to that. He just walked up the steps to the front door, Jeongguk following suit.
They both knocked on the door in sync, standing one beside the other as they waited.
Jeongguk wouldn't say he was nervous about seeing his mom after some time, just that he was worried on how she would be after so long.
"I guess she isn't here." Jeongguk breathed, defeat lacing his vowels. Part of him was looking forward to seeing his mother. "We can come back later, we'll see her."
Jungkook frowned and knocked again.
"Kook, she isn't here, okay? Let's just go." Jeongguk began to walk, not wanting to admit the bit of pain he felt with every beat of his heart.
Jungkook sighed, shaking his head. "We can wait-" He was cut off by the door opening, snapping his head over.
"Jungkook?" The feminine voice spoke softly. After years of not seeing them, she still could easily tell them apart. Jeongguk came running back up the steps, damn near falling but his brother helped him so he wouldn't, having a grip on him.
"Mom," Jeongguk's face lit up and a smile spread so very fast on his pale skin.
Mrs. Jeon opened her arms and pulled both of her sons into her embrace, squeezing them close. "Oh, my babies, how I've missed you boys so much." She breathed, feeling their arms engulf her as well.
They stood like that for a bit before she pulled back. "You boys looks so handsome, so alike, I love it. Come on inside, I can start baking cookies."
"We kind of have to stay in shape." Jeongguk said with a slight chuckle, letting Jungkook go in first before following. He shut the door behind him.
"No," Jungkook looked back. "You have to stay in shape, I'm eating cookies." He remarked while emphasizing that he was able to chow down some delicious cookies.
"Nonsense!" Mrs. Jeon spoke. "You both will eat my cookies. Look how skinny you are!" She waved her hand. "Whoever of feeding you boys aren't doing good enough. What happened to your boy toy? I might not like him but bring him here, I'll teach him how to cook for you boys!"
And that's when Jeongguk's smile fell, tonging his cheek. "Um, well, you see-"
"We're not together anymore." Jungkook cut off Jeongguk, knowing he felt a bit touchy on the subject. "It's broken off."
Their mom looked back at them, confusion on her face. "Not together anymore? What happened? I might've had distaste for him but he made you guys happy."
"He broke up with us. We still don't know why but he ended things and left it at that." Jungkook shrugged. "We would actually prefer not talking about it and we do get that you're our mom but it's just a bit hard for us to talk about the topic. People change and move on."
Mrs. Jeon's frown was evident. She gave a coy nod, grabbing her ingredients to start baking cookies for her twin sons.
"You know I can speak, right?" Jeongguk uttered to his slightly younger brother. "It might hurt my feelings but I can talk just as much as you can, Kook. I have a voice as well."
"I know," Jungkook spared his brother a look. "But you're not the only one who's dealing with it, sometimes I need to just say it as much as you do." He offered a weakened smile. "It helps me, I need to fully comes to terms too."
