SUDDENLY A ROCK WAS THROWN AT ONE OF THE WARRIORS, WHO LET OUT A PAINED GRUNT, AND MORE WERE THROWN AT THE ENEMIES AFTER THAT. The children of the tribe were now fighting, as they fired spears and used rocks to hit the firebenders away from the girl and their home. Sokka never looked so proud of what they were doing.

"Enough games. Burn this whole place to the ground." Zuko sneered through his teeth, stepping forward from his spot with his army and narrowed his eyes down on (Y/N), as they got ready to use their firebending on the village.

(Y/N)'s eyes went wide in panic hearing his sudden command, body moving before she could think it over and ran in front of the gate where their fire was aimed, "No! I'll go with you. Just leave them alone." She pleaded raising her hands up in the air, causing Zuko to falter in his movement, and stand down.

If it weren't for the tight grip Karata had on Aang, he would of ran out ages ago to help his older sister in need, who was sacrificing herself to save a tribe that she barely knew yet. His face held fear for the girl, as he stood near Sokka with his arms stuck in Katara's, sensing he would join in the fighting if she didn't stop him.

A long exhale escaped the Avatar's lips, that was visible to the eye from how cold it was and stare into Zuko's dark eyes seriously, "I'm the one you're looking for. Don't take it out on them, and take me instead."

Zuko was pondering for a few minutes with his gaze moving up and down her figure slowly, before his top lip perked up into a sneer, "Get her." He ordered gruffly to his soldiers, which had the trio watching behind instantly springing to action.

"Wait- (Y/N)!" Aang and Karata exclaimed alarmed seeing her winningly handing herself over, both of them running up to where Sokka was, his back facing them so his reaction wasn't visible to their eyes.

Sokka swallowed the lump in his throat when his gaze latch onto her pair of cold eyes, his arms stretching out to stop the two from going any further despite Aang trying to fight against it, "You don't have to do this, (Y/N). Please." His name flew out of his mouth softly, a begging undertone that she didn't miss.

She shakes her head with a small smile, and gripped her staff tighter in her hand to seem strong for them, "It's okay, guys. Don't worry about me." She assured in a confident tone, looking at them individually as her heart breaks at the tears in Aang's eyes, and goes to turn her back to them briefly.

"No one has ever fought for me that much before." She glances over her shoulder directly at Sokka, who felt his breath hitch again staring at the powerful girl, and saw the bright grin she sent him, "I think you're the bravest person I've ever met, Sokka. Thank you."

His own lips twitched up a bit into a wobbly smile, never having experienced that gratitude from someone other then his sister or grandmother, which he knew he would enjoy a lot if it was coming from the Avatar. He didn't know why yet, but would soon.

Aang tried to leap forward once more to grab onto (Y/N)'s figure now walking away, but she just flashed him a reassuring smile that didn't reach her eyes like normal. His fingers gripped onto Katara's arm, trying not to let his tears free as he knew he had to believe in his sister. Believe that she would be alright, and come back to him in one piece.

She walked past Zuko very slowly, bumping her shoulder into his eyes as their gazes met, and he shot her a scowl spotting the smirk laying across her lips. She handed him her staff, and he snatched it from her, as she continued to walk in the middle of all the soldiers towards the battleship.

The trio behind watched her go with the Fire Nation in dread, wishing they could of done something more to help her, but knew they didn't have enough power to do so. Only she did, and now she was in the ship that was sailing away from the ice lands.

"We have to get her back. Please help me rescue my sister." Aang was straight away turning to the two beside him, practically begging them for their aid. Katara was already agreeing to join Aang in the mission, but Sokka wasn't so much yet. But in reality, he was already planning to get the girl back more then anyone else.

Sokka turned on his heel with a light lipped look, not even glancing back at the ship where (Y/N) was currently on, even if his heart was pulling, more like tugging him towards where she was. He ignored that and continue to quickly make his way back into the tribe.

"We have to help her. We need to help Aang save her." Katara was trying to get her brothers attention, slight jogging beside Aang to catch up to the male, "Sokka!" She repeated louder when she still received no answer from him.

He grabbed onto one of the younger males shoulders, and started to talk to him instead of the other two, "Okay, listen up. Make sure to reinforce the braces on the gate, and don't fall behind on drills." He tells him strictly, confusion twisting up on the boys face, "I saw real sloppiness out there today."

        "Drills-?"

"And Don't let the younger ones push you around." Sokka speaks over the boy, continuing his last instructions to insure the tribe would stay safe, "You gotta let 'em know who's in charge. That's right." He nods at the boy, and pats his forearm in conformation, "You're in charge."

When the boy ran away with a wide smile on his face to help the others, Sokka turned back around to Katara and Aang wearing a slight smirk of his own, which caused a giant grin to break out on Aang's face, "Now, let's go save sky girl."

Aang cheered loudly with relief, him running off straight away to go find Appa so they could travel, as Katara smiled slyly and nudged her brothers shoulder as they followed behind Aang through the village, "You mean your girlfriend."

His cheeks exploded into a slight red hue hearing his sisters word, stuttering a bit embarrassed as he shot her a warning look, "She's not my girlfriend." He grumbled stomping a few steps away, the idea itself sending a funny feeling to his stomach as he continued to grumble annoyed.

Yet... Katara thought to herself, watching her brother act like a total idiot at what she said, and smiled knowingly seeing the redness over his cheeks. She snickered quietly, and picked up her walking to catch up to the males.

THE DOOR TO THE JAIL CELL SHE WAS THROWN INTO CLANGS SHUT, (Y/N) BEING ROUGHLY THROWN INTO IT AS THEY WERE NOW INSIDE THE BATTLESHIP, WHICH WAS A LOT BIGGER THEN IT SEEMED TO THE EYE. The keys jangle as the solider locks the cell shut tightly, and she rolls her eyes at their glares they sent her before leaving her alone.

She rolls her sore shoulder a bit from hitting it against Zuko's armor, cursing him out in her out as she tripped many times because of how hard he was tugging her along to walk beside him. Her (E/C) eyes glance around at the many jail bars around her, and blows away the lock of hair that sat on her sweaty forehead.

A sudden sigh that belonged to male caught her attention, as she quickly snapped her head around to spot Iroh, Zuko's uncle standing by her cell, "There are many who never imagined this day would ever come, myself included."

She brings down her palm from rubbing her left shoulder, and nervously shuffled in her spot, "Can I ask you something?" She questioned hesitantly, and trailed off knowing she didn't know his name, "Uh..."

"Forgive me." He bows his head a bit in respect, and also greeting as he introduced himself to her, "I'm Iroh, son of Fire Lord Azulon. And of course." He adds answering her words from before, as his eyes flickered to the guard near them.

She too looked at the guard warily from the corner of her eye, before she directed her attention back to Iroh, "Uh, well. Why did the Fire Nation start this war?" She asked a bit on edge, not knowing she wanted the answer or not, but she also knew to become the Avatar, she needed to learn her history.

Iroh hummed in acknowledgment, his warm gaze looking over her smaller figure for a few seconds, "Some people say it is within out nature to expand and consume like fire itself." He began to explain to the curious girl, "Others believe that true stability in this world can only happen under our rule, so the drive to conquer is a drive for peace and unity."

"But peace comes from respecting life, not killing and destroying." She spoke appalled through her teeth, a heavy frown creasing her forehead staring at Iroh, who was taller by a few inches, "It doesn't come from what you just told me."

The older male felt a faint smile linger across his lips, before it faded a bit remembering where they were and who was watching them talk, "A noble sentiment, Avatar. But in the end, for most of us, it doesn't matter how this war started. It only matters how it can end." He retorted calm unlike her raising anxiety, "And the belief is that by capturing you, the Fire Nation can finally bring that about."

She narrowed her eyes down on him, a radiated and fierce glint in them that he saw straight away, "Is that what you believe?" She whispered a question she knew he wouldn't be able to reply to, by the sudden hesitant look across Iroh's face now.

His lips pursed slightly, and broke off their intent eye contact to shake his head, "I must leave, but I look forward to many more conversations with you, Avatar." His tone was friendly which did ease her tension a bit, "In the meantime, I'll have some jasmine tea sent to you. It's quite soothing."

A soft chuckle escaped him, and he bowed his head a bit in farewell, before turning around to walk towards the entrance. The guards keys jingle a bit when he grabbed them, and the lock clicks open, while (Y/N) leant on the jail's bars to watch this happen closely.

Her eyes spotted the keys on his side belt of his uniform, which had her smirking to herself a bit, and waved her hand in the air. The keys came floating to her from using her bending on them, and she quickly shot the keys into her other hand, which made a loud jingle.

The guard turned to look back at her suspiciously, as she sweat dropped a bit and hid her hands behind her, looking around with a nervous look like nothing happened. He shrugged a bit when he spotted nothing, and followed the others out of the room, leaving her alone with the keys to her freedom.

She managed to use the keys to unlock the door trapping her, now on edge a bit more as she spotted no one inside the jail cells with her. She placed the keys inside an empty one, moving through the room till she got more into the ships hallways.

Her head peeked around the corner of the end of a hall, ears catching the sound of chatter upcoming, and figured that's where the soldiers were. Her heart jumps when she saw one of them passing where she was, and yelped quietly as she ran into a room, opening the door and shut it closed quickly.

The voices got closer to where she was causing her to press her ear up against the metal door, trying to hear them but they eventually faded away, making her sigh in relief a bit. However, her eyes went wide realising what room she was in, and saw the many scrolls, papers and weapons laying around.

(Y/N) could only assume this was the Princes' room, and she was currently standing in the middle of it, gawking like an idiot. She placed her palm up to her mouth, now slowly walking around the bedroom as she glanced around it, trying not to squeal a bit. It wasn't everyday she got to see inside a male's room, and a handsome one at that.

Her eyes landed on something laying open on his desk, and she made her way up to it, seeing the many words written on it with ink, and pictures of an airbender that resembled her a bit in a way. She gently touches the diary's pages, feeling bad that she was snooping through this, but had a feeling that this would hold the history that she missed and didn't learn.

"The Avatars..." She mumbled in awe when she turned the page, running the tip of her fingers along the earthbender Avatar, Kyoshi. She knew she needed to take his diary to learn more about them, even if she still felt horrible for doing so. But then again, he did kidnap her so this could be payback.

A sudden creaking sound from outside the room caused her to gasp startled, and it was followed by footsteps approaching. (Y/N) quickly scrambled up the book into her hands, snapping it shut and placed it behind her belt underneath her cloak for safe keeping. She would give it back to Zuko later, if they did ever meet again. And she was sure they would.

She hisses through her teeth at bit as she tip toes up to the door, pressing her ear against it once more to listen for anyone that was coming close to where she was. When she heard nothing, her eyes flickered up to something beside her and a happy gasp left her lips spotting what was placed there.

With a giddy smirk she snatched up her staff back into her grip, flexing her fingers around it with a low whistle. Once she was sorted out, she pushed open the door to Zuko's room, and crept out of that, being careful to not get caught and ended up all the way to the front of the ship.

The coldness from outside instantly hit her when she opened the massive door, hearing it creaking which had her cringing a bit. (Y/N) stays low to check if anyone was around, hearing some of them yelling but it was a bit away from where she was.

Still keeping low to not get spotted, she made her way from the door towards some of the equipment placed all over the ships deck, and pressed her back against the nets wrapped around them. Her head pokes out from the corner, a grimace covering her features seeing some Fire Nation soldiers standing where she needed to escape to.

Once the solider who was in front of her carrying a bucket of warm water, she ran out from her hiding spot to another one which was lower, causing her to squat a bit on the floor. She tightened her grip on her staff when she saw no one, and decided that the coast was clear for her to flee.

(Y/N) ran out from her spot quickly still keeping a bit low, and had almost made it to the edge of the ship, until the familiar voice of Zuko shouts behind her, "Stop!" He was the first one to spot her escaping figure, which alerted the rest of the soldiers on board.

One of them tried to grab her which she just narrowly avoided with a side step, and continued to running towards the edge of the boat. Zuko yelled an order again but she just blocked it out, and leaped up onto the edge. She didn't even think twice before jumping straight off of it.

A small yell escaped her when she did using her staff to help, as it unfolded into fan-like gliders, which enabled her to fly while manipulating the air currents around her figure. She gripped onto the handles near the top of her head, while her foot touched the end handles of it.

She grazed the water below for a few seconds, before the wind picked up and she was flying up higher into the air, having successfully gotten away from Zuko and his soldiers. However, she got hopeful too quickly when they started to aim fireballs at her with their bending, and her gliding was knocked off balance.

"Come on! Can't we be civil about this-!" Her nervous exclaim was gone unheard by the cranky Fire Prince, who continued to order blasts at her, making the girl deadpan back at him and gulp, "Guess not then..."

Heaps of them kept coming at her in rapid movements, causing her panic to rise now as she barely managed to dodge all the attacks. The back hairs on her neck suddenly stood up for some reason, causing her to snap her head back and gasped seeing an even bigger fire blast coming towards her. One that she knew she couldn't dodge in time.

A scream left her lips when the fire had hit her and her guilder, which made her grip on the object drop and she was now flying through the air at top speed. Her heart dropped to her stomach, flailing around trying to grab her staff that was dropping through the air like she was.

She continued to scream trying to think of a way out of this, figure falling straight down to some sharp ice shards in the cool water below. He manage to snatch back her staff, but was still dropping fast from the sky not knowing what to do.

That was until a familiar voice yelled her name loudly, and a familiar sky bison's bellow was heard through her ears. She felt a warm, and tight hand clasp around hers, causing her to grunt at the sudden pull as someone had caught her from falling.

She looked up straight away with wide eyes, feeling her hand slipping but the one holding her wouldn't drop her for anything. Her eyes tear up a bit in both relief, and happiness seeing Aang and, Sokka's faces staring down at her, the latter whom caught her from falling to her death.

"We've got you, it's alright!" He yelled is reassurance to her over the rustling wind, slowly starting to pull up her figure from dangling in the air, and gave her a warm grin, "I've got you, sky girl."

A breathy cry fell from her lips as she held onto his hand more feeling him pulling her up, "Sokka! Aang!" She exclaimed, just as Appa bellows out flying them away from the battleship, and she was finally pulled up into the safety on the saddle.

She lands in the Sokka's arms who saved her, both of them falling back into Appa's saddle, as he caught her securely against his chest. She fell in between his legs with hers, arms around his neck with his around her waist and the back of her head, silently reassuring her from the fear she felt before.

Before Aang could even dramatically sob over his sister being saved by Sokka and her being back, a massive fireball was being sent towards them on Appa, which had the entire group gasping in horror. However, water suddenly splashes against it which put out the fire and completely stopped it from harming them.

(Y/N) lifted her head up from Sokka's chest to see who was the one that stopped the fire, and saw Katara standing there in a waterbending pose, a shocked look over her face. The Avatar's smile was so wide it made her eyes crinkle up, feeling proud of Katara that she manged to control her bending.

Sokka still keeps his hold on the girls waist even with Aang hugging her, and smothering her in his arms. The older male watched his sister with a proud look, and they share an amused look at the other siblings who dramatically cry together over being separated for so long.

Once she let go of Aang for the time being, she turned around a bit in between Sokka's leg, her eyes catching onto the fading ship and Zuko behind them. She gulped a bit having a feeling this wasn't going to be their last encounter, and sinks back into Sokka's chest to catch her breath, tip of her head resting on it.

Appa was flying them up into the clouds now which hid them very well from any eyes below, and (Y/N) finally calmed down enough to talk, "I can't believe you guys came for me." She breathed out smiling gratefully, eyes landing on Sokka's figure that was sat beside her now, "Thank you. Really."

"Well, of course I would (N/N)." Aang huffed out through a sad pout, arms crossed over his chest holding onto both their staffs use to help them fly, "I wasn't about to leave my sister alone and left with the Fire Nation, let alone the Prince."

Her heart felt warm hearing his words, reaching out to squeeze the top of his tattooed arm knowing how hard it was to watch her go with them before, not knowing if she would be alright or not. After all, they have been by each other sides since forever, and it would be difficult for either one of them if the other left.

"Yeah, it's time we showed those flameheads they can't step on us." Sokka commented is agreement, nudging (Y/N)'s side with his elbow softly with a smirk as she chuckled amused and sent him a small smile back, while the other two shared a knowing look.

He shuffled around a bit to directly sit in front of her, their knees touching a bit as his face suddenly becomes a bit more serious, tone as well, "The firebenders aren't gonna give up." He points out making her shoulders drop a bit dejected, "They're gonna keep coming after you."

"Which means we can't go home." Katara speaks up confidently gaining everyone's attention on her now, as the wind whistles around the four on Appa, "It would put everyone in danger. So where do we go?"

The two airbender best friends shared a look with one another, both thinking of the same place that no one would find them at while they figure out a plan. Their home.
