He sits on the familiar smoke-grey couch, as he waits for her to come back, glancing around the tiny, cozy apartment, looking for any new changes since he'd last been here.
The guilt gnaws at his heart, when he remembers his last time being here.
The supermarket. He'd dropped her here that night. And he didn't even come in.
They practically used to stay together, as he would spend most of his time here, at her's.
What changed since then?
Was it him?
He doesn't know.
But he sure wills to make it right.
She enters the room, the cloth of her shirt painted with tiny water spots at a few places. Her face is a little brighter after having washed it.
Sheepishly, she sits down beside him, keeping mum, yet stealing a few glances of him.
Therefore, he takes the initiative to start the conversation.
He clears his throat.
"How have you been?"
"I'm— okay, I guess, a but lonely though..." the last part leaves her lips unwillingly, and hopefully incoherent to him.
"I'm sorry..."
It's a whisper, almost inaudible to her ears, but it leaves her surprised.
He's—sorry? Why?
She looks up to his eyes, only to find the deepest forms of regret and guilt pooling them.
"HaeJin, I need you to be honest with me, and tell me something."
