"𝐀𝐘𝐋𝐀!" Her uncle yelled over the music.
Ayla Roberts couldn't hear him, she was in her own world. Darron stepped forward and turned off the music. Ayla whipped around, hair going in her face, to see her uncle standing there in his uniform.
"I have to go." He said, throwing Ayla her headphones. "Make sure the neighbours don't file a noise complaint." He started walking downstairs.
"Wait, where are you going?" Ayla followed him, pulling on a red sweater.
"Someone found a dead body in the woods and the police are going to investigate." He stopped and turned around, causing Ayla to bump into his chest. "And you," he held her arms, "are going to stay here."
The girl groaned, making Darron smile slightly. "Sorry, kid. Those are the rules."
"Stupid rules." She replied as he shrugged on his jacket.
He gave her a look before closing the door behind him. Once Ayla heard the car pull out of the driveway, she raced upstairs to her room. She grabbed a small bag and threw in a torch, some batteries (because torches always go flat at the worst times) and one of the radios she borrowed from the police station. Wasting 10 minutes looking for her phone and finally finding it, she put her leather jacket on over her red sweater and picked up her helmet.
Ayla dialled her best friend Celia and brought the phone up to her ear. After three rings, she picked up. "Speak or forever hold your peace."
"Okay, so Darron said that someone found a dead body in the woods! And he went to the woods, joining the rest of the police department and State Police to look for it." She explained, locking the door behind her. Outside, it was cold and Ayla could see her breath in front of her face.
"Look for the body the person already found?" Celia deadpanned.
"No! Okay, so Darron didn't say this but I heard it on the radio and they only found half of the body."
"Okay, why are-" Celia sighed. "Don't tell me you're gonna go look for it."
"I'm not gonna go look for it."
"You're already outside, aren't you?"
"You know me so well." Ayla smirked and slung one leg over her motorbike. "Are you coming or not?"
"Hell no. The woods at night? Think of all the horror movies we've watched! The black girl always dies first!"
"Okay, that is so not true." Ayla rolled her eyes at her dramatic friend and said her goodbyes. She pulled on her helmet before speeding down the street and towards Beacon Hill's Preserve.
She parked a few meters away from the sign, so if someone came, they wouldn't know she was here. The blonde unclipped her helmet, shaking out her wavy hair. Readjusting the bag, she pulled out the torch and crouched under the chain, blatantly ignoring the No entry after dark sign. Straightening up, she looked around and decided to go straight.
After tripping on a stick and cursing it out, headlights shined through the trees. Ayla hid behind a trunk and peeked out to see two boys climbing out of a blue jeep. More specifically, Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski.
"You have got to be kidding me." She whispered to herself, rolling her eyes.
"I was trying to get a good night's sleep before practice tomorrow." Scott complained, pulling his hood over his head.
"Right!" Stiles' voice carried, making Ayla squeeze her eyes shut. "'Cause sitting on the bench is such a gruelling effort."
"No, because-" Scott started and Ayla realised they were literally right at the tree she was hiding behind. She took the opportunity to freak them the fuck out. She jumped out from behind the tree and yelled, causing the two teenage boys to scream.
"What the hell!" Stiles yelled, as Ayla got temporarily blinded by Scott's flashlight.
She laughed slightly, "You scream like a little girl."
Stiles scoffed and Scott put a hand to his chest, panting and taking a hit of his inhaler. "And you both have zero survival skills. And you're really loud. What if the killer was here right now?" She put her hands in her pockets and shrugged, looking around.
"What are you doing here?" Scott asked her, readjusting his hoodie.
"Looking for the body." Ayla said in a 'duh' tone. "What are you two doing here?"
"Looking for the body." Stiles said, squinting at her.
"We could look for it together?" Scott proposed, putting his hands in his pockets, shrugging.
"No." Both Ayla and Stiles replied.
Scott sighed, "you need to get over whatever happened when we were little-" he put his hands up silencing them when they tried to speak, "even if it's just for tonight. Okay?" None of them spoke. "Okay. Let's go."
They continued walking onwards and Scott continued with his story, "so, I'll be playing this year. Front line, in fact."
"Hey, that's the spirit." Stiles said as the two boys walked just behind the girl. "Everyone should have a dream, even a pathetically unreasonable one." He stepped on the back of her new Doc Martin boots and she turned back, punching him in the arm. He winced, glaring at her.
"Just out of curiosity, what half of the body are we looking for?" Scott spoke.
"Huh!" Stiles chuckled. "I didn't even think about that."
Ayla rolled her eyes. Scott said, "and, uh, as Ayla said before, what if whoever killed the body is still out here?"
"Also something I didn't think about." Stiles admitted.
"Whoever killed the girl. Not the body, because if it was the body, she'd already be dead when she was allegedly killed." Ayla moved some hair out of her face as she spoke.
They started to climb up a small, muddy hill and Scott panted, "it's comforting to know you've planned this out with your usual attention to detail, Stiles."
"I know." Stiles grinned.
"Maybe the severe asthmatic should be the one to hold the flashlight, huh?" His voice grew faint as Ayla walked onwards.
Stiles dropped to the leave covered ground next to her, making quite a lot of noise and Scott also joined, causing her, unfortunately, to be the one wedged in between them. They turned off their flashlights and watched as policemen with their own flashlights and police dogs were walking around. Stiles jumped up, "come on!"
"Stiles!" Scott hissed.
"Come on, Scotty Boy!" Ayla followed him, wanting to get a closer look. They ducked behind trees, running sideways and crouching down. Ayla looked back at Scott lagging behind and accidentally ran into Stiles. They turned and yelled as a dog barked in their faces and got temporarily blinded by a torch.
"Hold it right there!" The man yelled. "Hang on, hang on. This little delinquent belongs to me." Ayla shelled her face and saw it was Stiles' father, Noah Stilinski. "Darron! I believe this one belongs to you." He said as Ayla pushed Stiles away from her, picking leaves out of her hair.
"Dad." Stiles nodded as Ayla's uncle came over. "How're you doing?"
As Darron stared down at her, Ayla refused to make eye contact, instead looking intently at Noah. "So, do you listen into all of my phone calls?"
"No." His son shook his head before admitting, "not the boring ones."
Darron cleared his throat and Ayla reluctantly looked at him as water droplets fell from her leather jacket. "Didn't I specifically tell you to stay at home?"
"Well, you never said for how long." Ayla shrugged as she played with the zipper of the jacket.
"Ayla." He frowned, making her sigh.
"Fine, yes, you did." She nodded.
"Now," Noah looked around, "where's your usual partner in crime, Stiles?"
"Who, Scott?" He asked, his voice raising an octave or two. "Scott's home. He said he wanted to get a good night's sleep the first day back at school tomorrow."
"He's planning on playing first line." Ayla nodded.
Stiles continued rambling. "It's just me. And Ayla. In the woods. Alone." She elbowed him in the ribs and he groaned. "Not like that."
Noah ignored him and shined his torch out to try and see if Scott was indeed out there somewhere. "Scott, you out there? Scott?" He sighed.
"Ayla, I'll walk you back to your bike. Come on." Darron said and Ayla patted the dog on the head before moving off with her uncle, leaving Noah to deal with his son.

Boom. First chapter done. Yay! I've been thinking of writing a teen wolf fanfic for a while and here it is. It's been sitting in my drafts for so long. Hope you enjoyed ;)
Fun fact: Ayla's favourite bands consist of Nirvana, Queen, AC/DC, Arctic Monkeys, Green Day, Jet, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones. Those are just a few...
