Yn detached out of her car and locked it to turn around and walked towards the door. She twitched the doorknob to open the door.

Yn froze at the doorway, her eyes widening in disbelief at the sight before her. Yoongi, her older brother, stood casually in the living room, his calm yet charismatic presence filling the space. Zara, her bestfriend, sat beside him, grinning as if she had orchestrated the whole reunion.

โ€œ Yoongi?โ€ Ynโ€™s voice trembled, unsure if she was dreaming.

He turned to her, his expression softening instantly. โ€œ Hey, little one,โ€ he said warmly.

Without hesitation, Yn dropped her bag and rushed toward him, wrapping her arms tightly around him. โ€œ Youโ€™re really here," she said, her voice muffled against his shoulder. "Three years, Yoongi! Three!"

He chuckled softly, patting her head. "I know. Iโ€™m sorry it took so long, but Iโ€™m here nowโ€”for good."

Before she could say anything more, their parents entered the room. Their motherโ€™s hands were still dusted with flour, and tears brimmed in her eyes as she approached. "Yoongi," she whispered, her voice breaking.

Yoongi stepped forward, bowing slightly before pulling her into a gentle hug. "Iโ€™m back, Mom," he said.

His father, though composed as always, couldnโ€™t hide the pride in his eyes. "Three years is a long time, son," he said, his tone warm. "What kept you so busy in America?"

Yoongi smiled, stepping back to address them all. "Work, mostly. The company had me managing major projects there, but thereโ€™s good news," he said, a proud glint in his eye. "I got promoted to regional director."

Gasps of surprise and delight filled the room. Ynโ€™s eyes widened. "Regional director? Thatโ€™s huge, Yoongi!"

Their mother clasped her hands together, her smile bright through her tears. "Iโ€™m so proud of you," she said. "But does this mean youโ€™ll have to travel even more?"

He shook his head, his smile reassuring. "No, Mom. Thatโ€™s the best part. Theyโ€™ve transferred me back to Korea permanently. No more long tripsโ€”this is home now."

Zara clapped her hands excitedly. "Look at you, Mr. Big Shot! But you still owe us a proper catch-up session."

Yn smirked, wiping a tear from her cheek. "And donโ€™t forget about the celebration dinner. Momโ€™s already on it."

Their father nodded approvingly. "A well-deserved meal for a well-deserved promotion. Welcome back, son."

As the family and Zara settled into the warmth of the moment, the house buzzed with laughter, stories, and the joy of Yoongiโ€™s long-awaited return home.

The house buzzed with warmth and laughter as the celebration carried on into the evening. Plates of food were passed around, and everyoneโ€™s spirits were high.

Yoongi, seated at the head of the table, found himself surrounded by the people he cared about most.

As he listened to Zara animatedly recount a funny story from their childhood, he glanced at her. She was the same Zara he had known years agoโ€”bright, lively, and endlessly captivating.

But now, something about her felt different. Or perhaps, it was him.

Yoongiโ€™s gaze lingered a moment too long as she laughed, her eyes crinkling with genuine joy. His chest tightened, an all-too-familiar warmth spreading through him. I

t was a feeling he had buried years ago when he left for America, convincing himself it was just a fleeting crush. But now, seeing her again, it wasnโ€™t fleeting. It was real.

"Yoongi?" Zaraโ€™s voice broke through his thoughts.

He blinked, realizing she had caught him staring. "Hmm?"

"I was asking if you remember when Yn fell into the lake on our camping trip!" Zara said, her grin widening.

Yoongi smirked, grateful for the distraction. "How could I forget? She cried for hours because her snacks got wet."

"Hey!" Yn protested, cheeks flushing as the table erupted into laughter. That was a most embarrassing moment from her childhood.

Zaraโ€™s laughter was the loudest, and Yoongi couldnโ€™t help but smile. He had missed thisโ€”the way she lit up a room, the way her laughter felt like music.

His fingers lightly tapped the edge of his glass as he watched her, a silent thought crossing his mind; Maybe coming back wasnโ€™t just about family.

As the evening went on, Yoongi found himself stealing glances at Zara. Each one only solidified what he already knewโ€”his old feelings had never really gone away. They had just been waiting, patiently, for this moment.

As the laughter died down, Zara leaned forward, her mischievous grin firmly in place. "So, Yn," she began, resting her chin on her hand, "what about your first day as Ms. Assistant? Howโ€™s the life of working for the almighty Jeon Jungkook treating you?"

Yn froze mid-bite, her cheeks turning crimson as all eyes turned to her. She shot a glare at Zara, silently pleading for her to stop.

Yoongiโ€™s brows furrowed in confusion. "Wait," he said, setting his chopsticks down. "Youโ€™re Jungkookโ€™s assistant? As in Jeon Jungkook, the big-name business mogul?"

Zara smirked, clearly enjoying Ynโ€™s discomfort. "Yup. The very same. Sheโ€™s been keeping it under wraps, but I think itโ€™s worth bragging about."

Yn sighed, placing her utensils down. "Itโ€™s not that big of a deal," she muttered. "Itโ€™s just a job."

Yoongi leaned back in his chair, his expression shifting to one of mild concerns. "Not a big deal? Yn, working for someone like Jungkook isnโ€™t exactly common. How did that even happen?"

Yn hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. "It was a recommendation through one of my professors," she explained. "They thought it would be a good opportunity, andโ€ฆ well, here I am."

Zara leaned closer, her eyes twinkling. "Donโ€™t let her downplay it. Sheโ€™s been handling files faster than Jungkook himself can ask for them!"

Yoongiโ€™s lips pressed into a thin line. "And he treats you well?" he asked, his protective instincts kicking in.

Yn nodded quickly. "Yes, of course. Heโ€™s strict but fair."

Zara chuckled. "Strict is an understatement. Rumor has it heโ€™s cold as ice. But then again, youโ€™re Yn. If anyone can melt that icy exterior, itโ€™s you."

Yn groaned, burying her face in her hands. "Zara, please stop."

Yoongi, still processing the information, leaned forward slightly. "Justโ€ฆ be careful, okay?" he said, his tone is serious. "People in positions like his can be unpredictable."

"I know, oppa," Yn replied softly, offering him a reassuring smile. "Itโ€™s just a job. Nothing more."

As the evening went on, Ynโ€™s parents had excused themselves to prepare for the next day, leaving the younger group alone in the cozy living room. Zara, ever the instigator, leaned closer to Yn with a sly grin.

"So," Zara began, drawing out the word mischievously, "how was your first day at the company? Did you embarrass yourself or something? Knowing you, thereโ€™s probably a story."

Yn froze mid-sip of her water, the question pulling her straight back to that morning. The memory was vividโ€”too vivid. The packed elevator, the sudden jolt, and her ungraceful stumble. Most of all, she couldnโ€™t forget the way Jeon Jungkookโ€™s strong arm had shot out to steady her, his hand gripping her waist firmly. Her cheeks heated at the thought of his touch, and she squirmed slightly in her seat.

"Yn?" Zara pressed, raising a brow. "Why do you look like youโ€™re trying to disappear? What happened?"

"Nothing!" Yn blurted out, a little too quickly.

Yoongi, who had been observing quietly, narrowed his eyes. "That doesnโ€™t sound like โ€˜nothing.โ€™ What are you hiding?"

Yn waved her hand dismissively, trying to play it cool. "Itโ€™s nothing, really. Justโ€ฆ a minor incident in the elevator. No big deal."

Zaraโ€™s eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Minor incident? What kind of incident? Did you trip?"

Yn groaned, burying her face in her hands. "Fine! I tripped, okay? I just took a step forward before tripping and I lost my balance."

Zara burst out laughing, while Yoongi smirked slightly. "Classic Yn," Zara teased. "But waitโ€”how did you not end up on the floor? Did someone catch you?"

Ynโ€™s face turned bright red as she muttered, "Jungkook did."

The room went silent for a moment, and then Zara let out a dramatic gasp. "The Jeon Jungkook caught you? Like, grab you?"

"Zara!" Yn hissed, mortified.

But Zara wasnโ€™t done. "Oh my gosh, was it one of those moments? You know, like in the dramas where time slows down, and your heart skips a beatโ€”"

"It wasnโ€™t like that!" Yn interrupted quickly, though her racing heart betrayed her. She could still feel the firmness of his grip and the way his piercing gaze had locked onto hers.

Yoongi cleared his throat, his protective instincts flaring. "He grabbed your waist?" he repeated, his tone skeptical.

"It wasnโ€™t a big deal!" Yn said hurriedly. "He was just helping. Thatโ€™s it."

Zara smirked knowingly but let it goโ€”for now. "Alright, alright. Iโ€™ll stop. But I bet this isnโ€™t the last time youโ€™ll โ€˜accidentallyโ€™ trip around him," she teased.

Yn groaned again, mentally preparing herself for Zaraโ€™s endless teasing and Yoongiโ€™s overprotectiveness in the days to come.

The next day, as the sun peeked through the blinds, Yn quickly got ready for work. Zara was still asleep, and Yoongi, ever the early riser, was already waiting by the car.

"Ready?" Yoongi asked, holding the door open for Yn. She nodded, stepping in.

The drive was peaceful, the city bustling as usual. Yn glanced at Yoongi, who was humming softly to the tune playing on the radio.

"Thanks for the ride," Yn said as they reached her office building.

"Anytime," Yoongi replied with a small smile. "Have a good day."

"You too," Yn said before stepping out.

As she walked toward the entrance, she glanced back to see Yoongi driving off, likely heading to his office. She couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the easy comfort he brought into her life.

The day at work began as usual, but Yn couldnโ€™t help but feel that today might hold something unexpected.

As Yn stepped into the cabin, she paused, surprised to see Jungkook already seated at the desk, immersed in work. He looked up from his laptop at her entrance, his sharp features, softened by the morning light streaming through the window, made him seem almost too perfect.

"Good morning, sir," Yn greeted politely, a hint of nervousness in her tone. "Am I late or something?"

Jungkook shook his head, leaning back slightly in his chair. "Good morning, Miss Yn. No, you're not late. I just got here early to get a head start on the day."

"Oh, I see," Yn said, setting her bag down on the side table. "Is there anything urgent you need me to handle?"

"Not urgent, but we do have a lot to cover," Jungkook replied, gesturing to the files on the desk. "I thought we could go through these together before the meeting later."

"Of course," Yn said with a professional nod, pulling out her notebook and pen. "Iโ€™ll get started right away."

As she took her seat across from him, she couldnโ€™t help but notice the ease with which Jungkook balanced professionalism and approachability. It was going to be a long day, but working with him didnโ€™t seem so bad after all.

After spending some time reviewing the files together, Jungkook checked his watch and stood up. "Itโ€™s time for the meeting. Letโ€™s head to the conference room," he said, gathering his notes.

Yn nodded, quickly collecting her notebook and pen. Walking beside him down the hallway, she couldnโ€™t help but notice the confident aura Jungkook carried. Every now and then, she caught a faint glimpse of his focus as he glanced at the agenda in his hands.

When they entered the meeting room, several team members were already seated, chatting amongst themselves. The conversations hushed as Jungkook stepped in, his presence commanding attention without effort.

He gestured for Yn to take a seat next to him. Once everyone settled, Jungkook began, his voice calm yet authoritative. "Good morning, everyone. Letโ€™s get started. As you know, today weโ€™ll be discussing strategies for the upcoming project..."

Yn listened attentively, jotting down important points while occasionally glancing at Jungkook. His ability to articulate ideas and engage the team was impressive.

As the meeting progressed, Jungkook turned to Yn. "Miss Yn, can you share the insights from the analysis you worked on?"

Caught slightly off guard, Yn felt her heart skip a beat but quickly composed herself. "Of course," she said, standing to address the room. She presented her findings confidently, earning nods of approval from the teamโ€”and a glimpse of pride in Jungkook's eyes even if he didn't smile.

By the end of the meeting, Yn felt a mix of relief and pride. Walking back to their respective workspaces, Jungkook looked at her and said, "Good job in there. Your points were well-presented."

"Thank you, sir," Yn replied, her cheeks warming slightly. It wasnโ€™t much, but his acknowledgment made her day just a little brighter.

As the meeting progressed, Yn was deeply focused on the discussion, unaware of the lingering gaze of one of the employees seated across from her. Jungkook, however, noticed immediately. His sharp eyes caught the man's inappropriate behavior, and his expression hardened.

Without saying a word, Jungkook subtly leaned toward Yn. Picking up the cloth from the side of the table, he gently draped it over her thighs, shielding them from view.

Yn glanced at Jungkook, startled by the sudden action. "Sir?" she whispered, confused.

Jungkook gave her a reassuring look, his voice calm but firm. "Donโ€™t worry about it," he murmured, his eyes briefly flickering toward the employee before returning to the discussion.

The tension in the room shifted as Jungkook's subtle yet protective gesture did not go unnoticed. The employee, realizing he had been caught, shifted uncomfortably in his seat, avoiding Jungkookโ€™s piercing gaze.

Yn, now understanding what had happened, felt a mix of emotionsโ€”gratitude for Jungkookโ€™s quiet intervention and discomfort at the situation. She focused on the meeting, knowing Jungkook had her back.

When the meeting concluded and everyone began leaving, Jungkook paused, waiting for Yn to gather her things. As they walked out together, he husked, "If something like this ever makes you uncomfortable, let me know immediately."

"Thank you Sir," Yn replied, her voice sincere. Glancing at his direction she smiled, her heart beat increasing. "welcome.." He responded with a small nod.

For a moment, they both stopped, turning to face each other. The world around them seemed to blur, leaving only the unspoken connection in their shared gaze.
