George paces around in distress, anxiously waiting for Toto to arrive. According to George, time seemed to have slowed down. He bites his nails in distress when finally the doorbell rings. His head shot to the door, hoping he wasn't hallucinating. The doorbell rings again, causing George to sprint to the door. He opens the door, only to see a Toto Wolff with a concerned expression.
"Come," Toto whispers. His voice is quiet, yet clear. George nods and puts on his shoes in silent. He grasps his jacket as he leaves the house.
"What do you know more than me?" George asks cautiously. Toto sighs as he steps into the car. He could imagine the pain he is going through, but for a father ... It may be far worse.
"They have been brought into the ER," Toto whispers, "I got an emergency phone call and then I drove over here." George's heart thunders as his breathing quickens.
"They," George mentions silently, "Toto, who is they?" George's voice starts to tremble. Toto tries his best to stay calm but he too is devastated.
"Charles and Artemis," he says and takes another deep breath. George brings up his fist to his mouth as he stares outside. He closes his eyes, allowing tears to roll down his cheeks.
The rest of the car ride was in silence. George had sank away in his thoughts, imagining the worst scenario. He prays that they were alive, both Artemis and Charles. He hadn't noticed the car stopped until Toyo's voice echoed through his head.
"George," Toto says and lays his hand on his shoulder, "come." George nods and steps out of the car. They walk in silence, both their hands stuffed in their pockets. They head to the receptionist, who greets them with a warm smile.
"Good evening, gentlemen. What can I do for you?" she asks gently.
My daughter and his girlfriend," Toto speaks, gesturing to George, "and her best friend are recently brought into the ER because of a car accident." The secretary nods and asks for their names.
"Artemis Wolff and Charles Leclerc." She nods once again and searches in the system.
"They were brought in a few hours ago," she mentions "are you Artemis' father, Toto Wolff?" Toto nods and gestures to George, "this is my son in law. Is it possible for us to visit them?"
"Ms Wolff is brought into her room," she mentions carefully, "as she just returned from surgery. She lays on the third floor, room sixteen and seventeen. Mr Leclerc is awake. I wish you the best."
"Thank you, ma'am," Toto thanks. He puts his hands on George's shoulders and guides him to the elevator. They make their way to the third floor. They haltered just before the doors.
"George," Toto says, "it may be a shocking view at first." George glances at Toto before glancing at the number sixteen. He takes a deep breath, "I am ready." George cautiously walks into the room as he sees his friend all bruised up. His face has several stitches and bruises. He sits next to him, looking at him.
"Charles," George whispers, causing Charles to shift his gaze to his friend.
"George," Charles greets weakly, seeing the distressed look in his eyes. George walks to his bed and cautiously embraces him in a hug.
"It is good to see you," he groans before lying back down. George remains silent before saying he is switching rooms.
Toto and George switch rooms. He sits in the chair next to the bed and cautiously gets a hold of her fingers. One look upon her face and tears well up in his eyes. Her face is covered with bruises.
"Artemis," he whispers, "if you can hear me ... Wake up, please." "I am awake." A soft voice spoke. His eyes shift to her face and there he sees it. Two eyes looking at him. "Nurse!" George yells, which caught Toyo's attention as well. Toto barges into the room with a look of distress.
"She is awake," George yelps. Toto casts a glance at his daughter but her eyes remain closed.
"George, she is not," Toto says carefully. He is hallucinating, Toto thinks. "George, come," Toto urges, needing him out of here. George protests but he felt too exhausted to protest and allows Toto to guide him out of the room.
Toto sat George down in the main hall. Toto kneels in front of the boy, realising he should never have brought him in. Watching his close friend and girlfriend.
"This is all my fault," Toto comments, "I should never have brought you in here."
"I wouldn't have slept not until I know Artemis was safe home," George protests stubbornly. Toto walks away and swiftly returns with a glass of water. George quickly gulps the liquid. The fresh water clears his mind for a bit. Toto had been observing him and came to the decision:
"You are not driving today," Toto says, leaving George caught off guard, "I cannot risk your life or that one on the grid." George wanted to protest but somewhere he knew it had no use. He is one big mess. "I will make some phone calls, don't leave and get some sleep." Toto turns away to call both Mattia Binotto and Claire Williams.
Even though, Toto told George not to leave, George sneaked into room seventeen where he saw the love of his life in coma.
He cautiously joins Artemis in bed. Only laying next to her, makes him cry because he knows she is in a coma. In a coma where you won't know when to wake up. He tears up again but snuggles closer to his girlfriend. "I love you," he cries, "I will never stop loving you. I will visit every day, I'll be the first face you see when you wake up. Please don't leave me."
Finally, the man found some sleep.
Meanwhile, Toto has finished his calls. He turns around to look after George but his heart jumps as George isn't in the main hall. He walks to room seventeen, where his daughter lies and there he sees George Russell.
He hears some soft murmuring. He walks closer to see George asleep. His heart breaks to see George like this. Toto walks up to his daughter and presses a soft kiss on her forehead, "please wake up princess. We need you back."
"I love you, my princess."
