Chapter 56

Finally- Graduation Day.

After a long hour of your lovely mother preparing your light-makeup for the occasion today. You complimented her skills and checked the mirror for approval. You saw the sight of an average woman in her graduate-uniform.

Just a simple uniform with a cape to match, along with a square academic cap- like the usual graduating black hats. Along with some medium heels and lengthy dark stockings.

You hugged your mom with a big curve shown on your moisted lips, your smile reaching your fair eyes. "Thank you mom.. you're absolutely the best!"

She giggles underneath her breath while breaking the hug. Her eyes gets teary-like, she sniffs and looks at you with a mix of satisfaction and happiness. "Don't make me cry already! And go take your leave now, you don't wanna be late!"

With a simple chuckle to her, you caressed a peck on her cheek and waved your hand at her in farewell. "I love you mom! I'll be going now."

"I love you, (Y/n) sweatheart!"

As you ran downstairs, you grabbed your scroll and purse before spriting outside the house. And once you head out, you saw your family's car just waiting for you on the road. One of the windows from the car opens.

"Get in, squid! I'll drive you to the university today!" you heard a faint voice coming from your father inside the car, he honked the car as he held the steering wheel infront of him.

"Where did he found that nickname from?!"

You didn't hesitate to climb inside the passenger's seat with a warm smile. Everything is going to smooth today, hopefully it'll lasts ti'll the end of the day.

"Squiddie! Squiddo! Squid-Squid!" Gou exclaimed as she pulled you in a tight hug. She whined as she tightens the hug, "I'll miss you so bad!" she fake cries on your shoulder.

You pat her back while chuckling nonstop. "Relax, relax. We will definitely see each other again next time, womanoid. And don't ruin your makeup!"

She nods like some child, a glint of sparkling shows in her pupils as she looks at you again. "(Y/n)-squid, why do you look so pretty today? I mean, you do look beautiful everyday but today is really something!"

A blush flew across your cheeks at the compliment from her, "Stop it, you're prettier today too--"

"Yeah, squid. You do look ten-times prettier today and its driving me crazy." a deep-ocean voice spoke near with a trace of footsteps to follow. You lift your head and saw the one and only- "Water-addict!"

You ran towards him and wrapped your arms around his waist. You buried your face on his chest, whining like some small baby. "I'm so glad you came!"

He pecks your head and plays with your hair, "What do you even mean? Of course I came, because you came too." you just felt your cheeks burning more and more.

You heard Gou talking from behind, "Err.. why do you two always make me feel like a third-wheeler!" you can sense that she just pouted while crossing her arms.

"Don't worry, you'll meet someone eventually." Haruka teases.

"Hmph! I'm not interested anyway." Gou shakes her lying head out. She was about to go somewhere else until the others finally showed up as well.

Makoto, Nagisa and Rei walks towards to you, Gou and Haruka with heartwarming smiles. It was such a sight to see the three of them looking very handsome today. But you had to admit, Haruka's looks just made your heart flutter even more badly than the rest.

With his black, silky hair styled back in a polished way. He didn't even wore any makeup but he still looked so effortlessly angelic today.

He pinches your chin as he leans towards you face, "Checking me out again?"

You pushed him off and roll your eyes. "In your dreams, lover boy." but to tell the truth, you just want to stare at him all day without getting tired. Your puffed red cheeks was pinched by him.

"Does your cheeks got to be so red?" he teases and you pout at him miserably.

"Hello and good day to all senior citizens! I thank you for participating to your once in lifetime- Graduation Day! Please prepare yourselves for the announcement of the number one student! The one who shall give the chance to halt the time and let us all feel how much grateful we are to the blessed day!"

You were sitted on the second row beside Gou, and the others was at third row. There was a specific seating arrangement every student had to follow for today's occassion so sadly, you couldn't sit beside Haruka.

Gou nudges your arm causing you to look at her in confusion. She pulls herself closer to your ear while whispering something, "Hope someone in our group will be the called 'number one student'!.."

Then she leans back to her chair, she looks at you in excitement. You mirrored her youthful expression, "I hope so too."

The woman in an amazing floral dress prepared her next sentences. "The number one student is.."

"(Y/n) (L/n)! Congratulations!"

Everyone started clapping their palms together endlessly like excited seals. Loud trumpet music blew from the speakers, almost bleeding your poor ears. You surprisingly stood up and bowed down everyone.

A male gestured you to come up on the platform and with that instruction, you only felt your heartbeat beating to its maximum as if you just got jumpscared by a scene in a horror movie. "I can't breathe! I can't believe this is happening!"

As you finally walked on the middle of the stage, the whole auditorium suddenly became silent and everyone's attention was only focused on you causing you to tremble in nervousness.

The same woman in the floral dress spoke to you, "You can start your speech now, lady."

You caressed a smile to her and nodded, your eyes back to the front. You fidgeted underneath as the tall table infront of you had a microphone, waiting for you to speak.

You wanted to backout, your mind was slowly starting to faint along with your body. You coudn't stand it anymore, you never had an experience like this before when you stand on a stage with hundreds of people watching you.

As you took a step backward, you glanced at your group of friends who had the brightest smiles plastered on their faces out of all the audience in the packed-auditorium.

You could clearly see what they are lip-syncing with their mouths at you. "Go squid! Fighting!" Gou beams at you in amusment.

"Do your best!" Rei hand-signed you with a stoic expression but his eyes expressed a different emotion- a proud one. Nagisa copies Rei's hand-sign method, "Haru-chan loves you!"

You mentally chuckled at what they are trying to tell you. Makoto smiled at you with an adorable heart formed with his slender fingers.

And lastly, water addict. He only rendered you a happy look while clearly mouthing; "I love you, (Y/n)."

Your face burns and your nervousness just disappeared like in thin air already. You inhaled then exhaled before finally speaking.

"Thank you Iwatobi High School for existing first in the very start, none of this would have happen without you. It is my pleasure to welcome students, families and faculty to this special day.."

"Every one of you have made an impact on the graduates- including me who sits here today. I stand here before you, looking back on four years of legacy we've all made together.."

"I here by declare the we are officially going to collage everyone! Throw all your scrolls and hats up to celebrate! In three.. two.. one!-"
