Chapter 14

"Coach Tihn Di told us that today is our last practice for next year relay's competition for this month, December only." Rei announced while cleaning his glasses with the use of his used white towel.

A nervous tingled in your veins like a spider crawling on your skin. It was your first ever time to join into such a competition, especially that your competing with other schools.

Plus, you never experienced swimming activities, not a single one. You only experienced it only for just five months this year with the help of your sensei, Haruka.

You learned a lot basically, he was like a professional teacher. There were times when he also need Makoto's help too in teaching, not just him but also Nagisa and Rei.

"You'll do amazing next year, (Y/n). Don't need to pressure yourself so early.." Haruka gently smiled while reassuring you.

"Am I really looking that obvious that I'm nervous for next year?!" you bit your lower lip, injecting your teeth in it. Just doing your habit again when nervous.

Rei continued announcing; "..and tomorrow and the following days ti'll January-five will be our winter vacation."

Gou's expression cheerfully beamed in a soft look. "Yes!! Christmas Partyy!!~"

"Christmas Party?" you raised a brow.

"Yeah! We'll be having our own party to celebrate Christmas, and do things like play fun games, exchange gifts and-"

"Okay, okay. I get it." you cutted her off with a promising face. Such a joy ball.

Nagisa fiddled his legs in the crystalline water while asking, "When is the party going to be planned?"

"December eighteen." Makoto answered, sounds like they already planned this whole christmas-party thingy since last week. "We'll do the picking-names to see who we'll give a present to tomorrow." he added.

Too busy to realize, the boy beside you, Haruka- his chin was relaxed on top of your shoulder with a sophisicated look but still emotionless as ever.

Your cheeks started to fill with a dark tinted red color. You could feel his breath meeting the skin of your neck and jawline, making you uneasily soft. If that makes sense.

His hand once again snaked up with your hand, increasing your nervousness into the max.

"Jqjwjwoqowisjjaakowz--"

"(Y/n)-chann!" Gou called, running up towards you. Interrupting your messy thoughts that is like breaking your thinking skills.

Haruka's hand that was sneaking up on yours suddenly released your hand as Gou ran up by you with a sweet smile plastered on her lips. "We have early dismissal today!"

"W-What??"

"Since we worked so hard as a swimming club, the principal said that we are free to go back home already."

"VIP, huh?? Legit."

A running Nagisa was saw near by, "Guys! Guys!.. Mako-chan told me to tell you all that we are all going to meet up in a pizza resturaunt.. like right now." his ending words gave a 'ASAP' expression to everyone.

"Then lets go now, he is probably waiting impatiently right now."

Minutes later, everyone was finally gathered together in the chosen pizza resturaunt.

"Look, there's Makdonalds." you pointed an index to the male figure with a grin. The others only softly giggled at your back.

Nagisa came running to Makoto with a pleased smile. "Mako-chan! They are here!"

Makoto shifted his head over his shoulder, seeing the sight of you and the others leading their ways to the occupied long table reserved by Makoto, himself.

After everyone seated comfortably at the vacant wooden chairs, a waiter approached the group. "What is your order?" he asks kindly while holding leaves of paper on his right and a pen on his left.

The waiter's eye shifted to every each one of the group then suddenly was glued to you.

"Why is the waiter staring like that..?!? Is there something wrong with my face? Or worse.. my existence?!-"

"She is very pretty." the waiter smilingly said, his smile never wore off after saying the compliment to you.

Gou beamed to him, "We know... thats why Haru-kun likes (Y/n)-chan!"

The waiter's eyes widened in confusion while fiddling with his pen on his tiny notebook filled with scribbles. "Umm.. er- we'd like to order the original big cheese pizza, the one that is good for six and up people." Makoto tried to save the awkward silence.

As the waiter nods and leaves. Everyone noticed Haruka just silently blushing with arched down eyebrows on the corner beside Makoto.

Gou felt a bit guilty, thinking it was her fauly causing the awkwardness filling the tension up in the air. "I'm sorry Haru-kun.... I guess I was a little too-"

"Shut up." he simply declared with a serious tone on his voice. His rare expression gave tingles to everyone' spine.

Gou just frowned by the annoyed reply of Haruka. On the other hand from your right side, since you were between the middle of Haruka and Gou, it felt so awkward to you.

You noticed Haruka was trying to control his temper from bursting out so you placed your hand on top of his, he belwilderedly looked at you. You shaked your head at him with a calm smile.

He suddenly shifts into a calm appearance, he looked like he was about to murder someone a second ago. His face softens at your action towards him.

"So awkward--"

The waiter came back with a black plastic tray on his palm upwards. Just in time to save the awkward non-moving tension that has beeb bugging everyone. "Here's your order ma'am and sir."

"Thank you." Rei politely said, he needed to help kneed down the awkwardness.

Everyone changed into a praying position with hands properly clasped together and said in sync; "Lets eat."

After time skipped inside the pizza resturaunt. The group of friends including you was joyfully happy by the yummy treat they ate altogether. The cheese pizza was delicious. (a/n: oishiI!!~)

"Bye guys!" Nagisa waved his arm then got back on his path leading his home. Rei and Gou did the same.

All its left standing on the sidelines of the clean-of-cars road was just you, Makoto and Haruka. Being neighbors as it is with those two buddies, you all decided to walk together side by side.

You clunched your hand on the strap of your blue bag tightly, silence really ruined the cool feeling in the air. Awkwardness is really contagious.

"So.. what do two you plan to do for tomorrow?" you questioned out of curiosity. But also at the same time trying to distract yourself at something.

Makoto scratched his nape with a sheepished smile. "To be honest with you, squid... I have no clue whatsoever."

Sorts of giggles bursted out from you lips, Haruka's face was just the usual but it was too obvious that he was chuckling inside. "Same." you mumbled.

Makoto dugged in his hands in his pockets. "Squid."he called, his expression suddenly changed.

"Ye?"

"Do you believed what Gou said earlier in the resturaunt?"

"What..?"

"You know.. she said Haruka likes you, after the male waiter complimented you for the reason of.." Makoto's words trailed up ti'll he saw the look on Haruka's face.
"Why is he bringing up this topic?!"

Silently scoffing, you just shooked your head with a thin line forming on your lips. "Of course.. not."
