Chapter Two // Panic Attacks and Nightmares
I sit at the dinner table awkwardly, my brothers already engaged in conversation with Johnny's parents. Though Johnny and I sat silent, picking at out food instead of actually eating.
My body was tense and my nerves were on edge although I couldn't put a pin on why I felt like that. I nervously bounce my leg under the table because my body couldn't sit still.
Never was I a social butterfly, I tend to keep to myself and being with new people scared me. Why I said yes to come here and sit with strangers was unknown to me.
Could it possibly be Johnny's looks that tricked me or something else? Last time I was asked over for dinner, I declined him and stayed home anyway.
"Pony," Darry's voice says as I snap out of my thoughts.
"Y-yes," I ask softly, my voice shaking slightly.
"Mr. and Mrs. Cade were wondering if you'd like to spend the night here," Darry says.
"I-i-i uhm... I-if I'm not a bother," I manage to slur out.
"You aren't a bother Ponyboy, I promise," Johnny soothes.
"T-then I'll stay," I murmur softly.
"Great," Johnny says cheerfully.
"Johnny, take our guest upstairs to the guest room and get him some sleeping clothes," his father says.
"Yes sir. C'mon Ponyboy," Johnny says standing up.
I shakily stand up and Johnny grabs my hand, causing me to freeze for a second before easing up. My face heats up and Johnny pulls me upstairs.
"Here's where you'll be sleeping Ponyboy," Johnny tells me. "Hopefully the bed is comfortable and the room looks nice?"
"I-its nice J-johnny," I say softly. "I-it'll do just fine."
"That's good. I'll go grab you some of my clothes you can sleep in and I'll be back," Johnny says with a smile.
He leaves and I sit on the bed quietly, taking a few deep breaths. I couldn't do this, I really couldn't...
My breath quickens slightly and my palms get sweaty. I rest my head in my hands and try to calm myself before lifting my head again.
I couldn't let Johnny see me like this, he'd probably call me a freak for shaking for no reason. Just then, Johnny walks in and sets the clothes down next to me.
"Ponyboy are you alright," Johnny asks calmly.
I shake my head slightly and he sits next to me, unsure of how to help. He hesitantly wraps his arms around me and laughs nervously.
"I-it's okay Pony," Johnny soothes. "I-i got you."
Ever so slowly, I calm down and take a deep breath. He lets go of me and looks at me.
"W-what was wrong," Johnny asks.
"I-it was nothing Johnny..."
"Are ya sure," he asks.
"Mhm."
"Okay, well it's getting close to bed time, you should get changed and get some rest."
I nod and he stands up, walking out of the room and closing the door. Sighing, I stand up and change.
-----
I bolt up screaming loudly, sweat covering my forehead. My head turns to look around the room, still screaming.
Slowly, my voice gives out and I resort to loud sobs, tears streaming down my cheeks. The blanket over me becomes damp with my tears and I struggle to keep my voice down.
The door bursts open and there stands Johnny and his father, Johnny's mom standing behind both of them. His father holds a cross out and and my eyes widen.
"Dad calm down, he's not possessed," Johnny says quietly. "Let me through."
Johnny struggles to get to me but he manages and sits next to me. I continue to cry and sniffle, trying to stay quiet.
"Hey," Johnny soothes. "What's the matter."
"N-n-nightmare," I stutter out.
"Its gonna be okay. I promise."
I nod my head shakily and take a deep breath. Johnny wraps his arms around me and I collapse into his arms, taking shaky breaths.
He rubs my back lightly and I lean my head on his chest lightly. I hear his father mutter something about a sin and walk out.
Johnny's mom leaves as well and holds me close to him. I whimper and curl up slightly, closing my eyes.
"Go back to sleep Pony, I ain't leaving you," Johnny murmurs. "I ain't leaving..."
-----
How was this?
I'm watching Youngblood and I saw Rob Lowe booty. I can't breath, someone send help.
