Chapter 50 🇮🇳🇰🇷

The elevator doors opened with a soft ping. Alia and you stepped out, flanked by Vidhan and Suja. Vidhans eyes linger with deep desire on your beautiful presence, your exposed skin shimmer caramel and your eyes were mysteriously make up, making you look more grown up and...more alluring. His heart race erractically and now ,more than ever he wants you all for himself.
The atmosphere was thick with tension in the elevator. Everyone was in their own mental space. You just stood at the back corner of the elevator with an unreadable expression. Alia was very quiet, still reminiscing about her unexpected encounter.
Vidhan tried again to gain your attention, his voice soft in a whisper. “Sami… About...er, I didn’t mean what happened earlier. You know me. I was just a little frustrated… I was out of line. Sami. Please...just forgive me?”
Your expression was cold as you looked squarely in the guilty eyes and said in an icy tone. “That’s the problem, Vidhan. I do know you. You were loud and clear. You've shown me your true character. Never think I'll forget that disrespect.” You just rolled your eyes and turned to softly chat to Alia, ignoring Vidhan's resigned look.
Suja gave him a warning look. “Vidhan, just stop. Samiya needs to be clear-headed for her speech today. You've done enough. No drama please. Gosh! Just don’t ruin this for my sister.”
The guests stood in awe as you, Samiya Adara Dholakia, Miss India 2014, entered...your diamond tiara catching the light, your calmness, and your elegance. Your tightly fitted black chiffon cocktail dress.
You entered the Diamond Hall quietly; the drapes were in beautiful shades of black and gold. The glittering chandeliers reflected off polished porcelain crockery and gold cutlery.
The atmosphere smelled faintly of jasmine and vanilla scents from either the floral arrangements around the room or the candle scents on the tables. The distinguished were already seated beneath towering arrangements of lilies and orchids.
You looked radiant in your national Miss India crown as you walked in arm-in-arm with your brother Suja, who looked proudly down at the faint smile on your lips. Your beauty and poise immediately got the room buzzing. All eyes were turned to you.
Alia, who walked like a true ramp model, gracefully beside her obnoxious cousin Vidhan. She caught a fleeting glimpse of him gazing at a beautiful smug blonde across the room. Alias's jaw clenched, but she said nothing. She knew Vidhan didn't stop with his womanizing antics.
Does he even realize that you refuse to give in to family pressure and marry this foolish cousin? He was playing with fire, especially in front of Suja, whom he does want as an ally. When Alia spotted Zhang...smiling at a copper redhead leaning a bit too close to the girl, her chest started to ache, but she kept walking, proud, chin high, and her eyes up front. She won't let Zhang unsettle her here. She has a mission to protect her friends as a decoy.
They reached Table 5, escorted by an usher, where they were seated beside the beautiful
Princess of Bhutan and her prince soulmate, and several power couples from Myanmar and Tokyo. People you barely recognized, but you knew they owned huge empires in their countries. You and Alia smiled and immediately started to chat with the friendly princess.
After a few official welcomes from the Legacy Club’s Vice-Chairman, Mr. Hwang, and an excellent panel of international Legacy speakers, it was your turn.
You felt the eyes on you, which made your tummy turn, and nerves wanted to grab you, but you kept your composure. The cameras were on you as you looked at Suja.
He smirked and placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder. He took your black leather folder and held his hand out to lead you.
“It’s your moment, Miss India. Go and dazzle the audience.” He murmured softly, his eyes filled with brotherly pride.
You inhaled deeply, clutching the tassel of your sash and smiling up at him. Suja led you to the front and made sure your steps were sure as you stepped up to the podium. Behind you was a huge screen, displaying your face and your claim to fame.
A massive applause ripped throughout the hall. Your eyes smiled and darted to your table, where Vidhan sat with a satisfied smirk, knowing that your fame makes you more alluring as a trophy wife. Alia clapped louder and showed you gestures of good luck. You nodded as your eyes roamed over the anticipation of the audience.
Your eyes found your soulmate, and his joyful emotions streamed through your body, which instantly energized you and made you feel strangely calm. You smiled and opened your leather folder and took the mic.
At table 9, Seokjin sat calmly between his parents and Noodle and her family. His expression was unreadable, expressionless...almost moody, almost detached.
His mother even tried to engage him in polite chat, but he merely nodded, giving one-word answers, but his eyes were elsewhere. She sighed deeply as she could see that he was miles away, too distracted, tense, and distant.
His appa's disapproving silence only made the atmosphere tenser and heavier, but Seokjin was unbothered. He sensed his disappointment in his mom's lack of support when he needed her to show up for him. The loneliness in fighting for his love was too much to bear.
When Samiya stepped into the spotlight, Seokjin’s eyes softened.
For that moment, he could feel all the noise fade. All he saw was his stunning soulmate in her diamond and ruby Miss India crown, the flashes of cameras, and blinking phones lifted to capture her beauty.
Affection and admiration flow through his eyes, which Noodle noticed. Her smile faltered as she looked at how he clapped loudly.
Gosh, her fiancé is so involved with Alia and her friend. She was shockingly surprised that Alias's friend was Miss India. She heard rumors on campus that a national beauty was studying with them. She never saw this coming. Her mind was too preoccupied to dig into Alias's past.
Mrs. Kim, his eomma, whispered, very impressed, “Miss India reminds me of myself during my Miss Korea days. I was too young to speak for charity courses. She has such poise… such grace.” Her eyes were fixed on Samiya speaking.

Mr. Kim adjusted his cufflinks and nodded. “She’s remarkable for such a young girl. Is she from Konkuk University as well, son?” He looked at the glow in Seokjin's face.
Seokjin’s eyes didn’t look away from the podium. “Er ...yes, Appa. We’ve spoken before. She’s… Alia, my girlfriend’s friend.” He said, not caring for his appa's sharp look. He was rubbing it in, knowing his Appas weak point --Alia.
Noodle’s lips pursed as her fingers tightened on her wine glass, her jealousy almost visible and a painful sight. Seokjin was unmistakably cutting. Letting everyone know his status with the shameless model.
Samiya’s voice echoed through the hall; it was not only clear and warm but also commanding. Her presence was magnetic, and the audience was entranced.
“Good afternoon, distinguished guests of the Legacy Club. I am Samiya Adara Dholakia, Miss India 2014, hailing from New Delhi, and it’s a divine honor to be able to stand before you today as a representative of youth empowerment through entrepreneurship.
During my exciting and full reign, I witnessed firsthand how dreams could take shape when young adults are given the correct tools and courage to build their own futures through entrepreneurship. The empowerment begins when we stop waiting for opportunities to knock on our doors, but as young, innovative minds, we need to start creating them ourselves.
Entrepreneurship isn’t just about business, gaining and acquiring more wealth and prestige, but it's also about having courage, innovation, and purpose in our endeavors. To every young person listening attentively today, remember...your idea, no matter how insignificant you might think it is, can become the spark that changes a community, or even a nation. Step out to step into your destiny.
Believe in that spark, nurture it, and let it lead you forward to your glorious end.... Thank you.”

The room immediately erupted in thunderous applause; some stood and hollered. Your family and friend stood. The younger guests clapped wildly, and some whistled, not caring about their stuck-up parents. Seokjin’s heart swelled with pride for his confident soulmate; she stood there like a queen.
Worthy of her crown, representing the Indian nation as well as every youth of Asia, giving them a voice. He wanted to jump up, run to her, kiss her, and tell her how proud he was, but he had to reel his feelings in, but they were visible on his face, while his father gave a slow, approving nod to the speech.
Mr. Kim muttered, half to himself, and chuckled, giving his wife a look, “No wonder she’s a national sweetheart. She is so young and eloquent. ”
Ms. Kim smiled brightly: “Truly a representative for the youth. She's remarkable. Who would’ve thought she’s a Konkuk student with Joo and Seokjin? Jin, have you met her on campus?”
Seokjin took a sip from his champagne and murmured casually, “A few times. They are Korean language and culture students.” Noodle gave him a sharp disapproving look. Who sat across from him? Her smile was frozen in place.
His dad sat with furrowed brows and couldn't help but wonderwhy Seokjin chose the morally loose friend. Maybe she freely gives his son whatever young male desires. He knows Seokjin will never settle for any other than a Korean girl. His son was just rebellious, trying to prove a point by acting out and dating what they don't approve of. He needs time to cool off.
Mrs. Bae looked at her, noticing her sour expression. “You look furious, dear. Everything alright?"
Noodle scoffs and starts snapping at her mom, "She's Alia's best friend, my nemesis on campus..."
Her mother raised a brow, slow in getting it, but Seokjin just smirked faintly. He did it on purpose; riling Noodle up was his new pastime. She was seething with jealousy against Alia, who obviously couldn't care less.
Noodle’s forced smile returned. Looking flabbergasted, “Mom, can you hear yourself? She’s… Alia’s best friend, remember...the girl who wants to ruin our engagement plans?” she said sharply as she even noticed her own mom clapping with a huge smile.
Mrs. Kim, Seokjin's mom, ignored her jealous ranting, still watching the stage with glowing eyes. “She is very beautiful, intelligent… I can see why she’s so admired.” His eyes search for Seokjin's.
Seokjin smirked faintly and scoffed.
If only they knew…
🕌🕌🕌🕌
The highly anticipated luncheon flowed into excited chatter and laughter. It was the end of the agenda and closed.
Guests were now mingling together, complimenting the host. Platters of the best international cuisine were served, from Japanese sushi rolls, Thai spicy noodles, Indian butter chicken and rotis, Malaysian desserts and Chinese pork noodles, Korean sweet pastries, etc.
The four buffet sections were overflowing. You can eat as much as you like. Phone numbers and contact details were taken, new friendships forged, and business alliances and possible arranged marriages made.
You and Alia chatted warmly with the Princess of Bhutan, as you were promising to visit her country soon. She was so poised and friendly. Bodyguards were stationed around the room watching on their countries' prized commodities. The princess eagerly exchanged contacts before she left for her next conference in Belarus. Your parents were on business there. You hope you and Alia can visit Bhutan in the near future.
At another corner, Seokjin texted you and Alia discreetly. Their plan was still in motion, and nobody was backing up.
Vidhan and Suja mingled with Hong Kong film CEOs, while you and Alia ordered specialty drinks at the cocktail bar: a virgin blue lagoon cocktail for you and pink lychee martinis for Alia, glittering with sugar rims and interesting colorful cocktail umbrellas.
Guests congratulated you on your speech as they passed by. You just smile politely and thank them. You and Alia were chuckling, watching an old man trying to let his little chubby boy meet a lovely girl from across the room. He was adamant about not being dragged away from meeting a potential match.
Then you sensed your soulmate; his eyes were locked on you, and the air instantly became charged as you started to feel the deep magnetic pull between you. But of course he was trailed by his Noodle poodle. An unwelcome distraction.
She was trailing Seokjin like a death shadow. Her arm's tight link with his. He wasn't impressed. She forced a smile—a beautiful fake one.
“Oh, Miss Dholakia, your speech was… Quite something—youthy,” she said sweetly, but it was a slight jab. “Poor Seokjin was so flustered watching you... I wonder how his so-called girlfriend felt that her boyfriend was so entranced with you. You do have many male admirers today." She gazed smugly at an irritated Alia, certain that her words of vindication had moved her.
You raised your eyebrow and just gave a polite laugh. “I get that a lot. Sorry...for unwittingly making your 'fiancé' flustered. Celebrities have that effect on each other...but you wouldn't know, as you are not...one." You smile.
Alia almost choked back a laugh.
Noodle’s eyes narrowed sharply at your cool tone. “You must be proud of your… confidence.”
Noodle narrowed her eyes, especially when she heard a soft snort coming from Seokjin, who grinned with Alias's amused eyes, making Noodle more furious.
Alia just rolled her eyes, clearly bored. “You can drop the act, Noodle. We’re not friends, so don’t act like one. Why are you here? Why don't you go grab yourself a bottle of soju to drink down that petty jealousy?"
Seokjin frowned, clearly irritated as Noodle tightened her grip on his arm. Not in the least bothered.
He looked down on her. "Is this necessary, Noodle?"
“Seokjin, your parents are watching; don’t embarrass them,” she hissed sharply.
He frowned at her. “You’re overreacting again,” pulling his arm out of hers.
He exhaled sharply as his eyes darted to their table, seeing their families’ eyes on them. “Maybe they should be embarrassed...can you just relax and let me speak to my friends?”
Noodle looked at him exasperated, her voice shrieking, "Your friends! ...you want to stand and speak to a girl who is shamelessly chasing you. My gosh, Jin. Are you an idiot? She's two-timing you." She gestured at a composed Alia, who just gulped down the last drop of her cocktail.
You and Alia look at Noodles' irrational behavior.
Alia's eyes flared. "Now you listen to me, you little—" She was stopped as you shook your head.
Noodle pouted defiantly, "The truth is...you're sleeping around behind Jin's back. My word! You don't have any morals."
Alia was getting really worked up. "Yes, it takes one to know one. Seokjin isn't even your soulmate. How pathetic can one get?"
Before things get out of hand, and trying to keep things light, Seokjin casually interrupted, “Would you two like another cocktail? ...Miss India?” He smirked at you while Noodle and Alia shot daggers at each other.
You smirked, your eyes held deep affection and nodded. “Something new...surprise me.” He gestured to the cocktail bar, and Noodle and Alia followed like pitbull traps ready to devour each other.
Seokjin nearly choked back a laugh next to you; when you reached the bar, he discreetly slid a keycard into your hand beneath the counter. Nobody notices the movement or touch of your hands. Their plan was duly in motion.
You just pursed your lips at the feeling of forbidden excitement. The atmosphere was full of possibilities as Seokjin handed you and Alia a cocktail glass of piña coladas.
Alia smirked and looked flirty and seductive at him, amusing you. "Thanks, darling... you always know how to push my buttons…" She licked her lips, with an unspoken message that Noodle quickly got. It was as if she and Seokjin had secret nightly plans. Seokjin inhaled deeply not to burst out laughing. Gosh, Alia knows how to infuriate his so-called fiancé.
You tried hard to hold back a snort when you saw Noodle's face; Seokjin didn't order any drink for her.
Noodle looked flabbergasted. "You didn't order for me?"
Seokjin shrugged. "You're an adult; you can order for yourself. They have a new special drink called bish-soju. Try it. Excuse me… Er, Eunwoo is calling me. It's time to find some male companionship. Don't wait up—" he snorted at her disgusted face.
Moments later, he excused himself, discreetly caressed your shoulder, winked at Alia, nodded at his fuming 'fiancée,' and walked off to where a few guys were chatting.
You and Alia just walked past Noodle, who stood frozen and humiliated.
🕌🕌🕌🕌
While As Suja and Vidhan networked, you walked to them and feigned a slight headache. "I'm tired, Suja. Alia and I will be leaving. Too much excitement for an introvert. I need to recharge and rest before tomorrow.”
Suja nodded sympathetically. “Of course, sis. You did wonderfully today. I'm so proud of you. I’ll be sending some pics and footage to our parents tonight.”
You hugged him. "Please do. Bye...bye, Vidhan."
Vidhan frowns deeply. "You're not going to stay for the dancing. All the young adults will have an evening program."
Ali snorts, "I'm too old for jumping around. You can stay. Sami and I want to relax and maybe watch a movie."
As they swiftly left the Diamond Hall, giggling for escaping, a hand caught Alia’s wrist—Zhang. You both freeze. The strange guy looked with an undefined emotion at Alias's cold face. You sense something so profound.
It's the guy your friend has a crush on, but something told you that the feelings might be mutual. Alia pursed her lips tightly as you just stood there almost at the exit.
“Alia… please. Just five minutes.” He strangled the words out.
She turned her voice tone cold. "Didn't you humiliate me enough? ---"
You could feel the atmosphere change, and you knew Alia wanted to deal with this situation on her own.Maybe find closure, Her eyes told you, and you smiled and gave her a reassuring nod and walked ahead, out of the double door.
Across the room, Noodles' eyes narrowed, and her lips were in a very thin line. She pointed toward them, whispering furiously to Seokjin’s family, who were chatting and eating some extra dessert and supping on expensive champagne.
Noodle pointed smugly to her mother: “There. That’s her cheating on Seokjin right in front of him with that model! How shameless!"
she utters triumphantly. Let them see shameless behavior in full sight.
Her mom and Ms. Kim gasped as they looked at Noodles' triumphant smirk. Now Seokjin will be more pressured. He never disobeyed his family until this fox showed up and messed up their lives.
The Bae patriarch’s eyes narrowed as he watch Alia with the Chinese model as he said inwardly. “Then she’s a threat. Nobody is going to steal my daughter's future with a famous idol."
Mr. Kim’s expression hardened as he seethed. “That girl… will be removed from his life… no son of mine will ruin his reputation with such a girl."
Noodle smirked, a malicious glint appearing in her eyes. She knows how chaebol families get rid of a problem, and she will just sit back and enjoy the show.
"Alia ...you will wish you never messed with Bae Joo-hyun." She murmured.
Meanwhile, Seokjin was already gone. He undetectably slipped out from the order side door back to his sweet mission.

You entered the royal suite, finally free from the world. You didn't have time to change in your and Alias's own suite two floors down. You just grabbed a small Dior tote bag and threw in some loungewear, some personal items, sneakers, PJs, and your toiletries. You left your crown and sash on the dresser by the door. Before anyone could witness your escape through the elevators two levels from your floor, you had to hurry.
You kicked off your heels, laughter bubbling from your lips as you collapsed onto the soft white bed, your arms stretched wide like a snow angel.
“Freedom… at last, even just for tonight,” you whispered, smiling into the ceiling above you. Your heart was racing thinking how you pulled it off so effortlessly. Now raised eyes, no suspicion.
Minutes later, you heard the door click open. Seokjin stepped in, his eyes softening at the sight of you just sprawling out on the bed, still in your tight cocktail dress and barefoot.
The atmosphere immediately changed as your soulmarks screamed at each other.

Without a word, he crossed the room with purpose; his smirk was lazy and teasing.
Your lips curved as you sat up on your elbows. “You took your time. Mr Sexy Seokjin: "You bit your lip sexily, reeling him in., while you seductively caressed your exposed thigh, Seokjin eyes widen.
He grinned widely, totally turned on by his seductive soulmate, as he crawled slowly toward you like a predator onto the bed, hovered above you, eyes glinting with a promise, “Well...it is worth the wait...tonight belongs to us. You are so mine,” he said huskily.
You smile, eyes filled with desire for your soulmate. "I'm yours, baby." He didn't waste any time.
When your lips met, kissing each other with hunger and wild abandon as your fingers gripped his head towards yours. Nothing mattered. Everything faded; it was only them...their secret as they were challenging fate to show up.
