It was the second preparation day for the competition. I was on the ladder, hanging up a giant poster on the wall that read, "Student Competition!"
I found the poster beautiful; Utahime had made it. She used the finest shades of red, not too dark, gradually getting lighter, and the font was like in a comic, slanted to the side. It caught your eye immediately. When I finished putting it up, I went downstairs and now had to erect barriers with Riko.
I don't know why, but Urahara also thinks I'm his servant and constantly gives me tasks. I walked down the path and saw Riko diligently pushing large needle-shaped spikes into the ground with a hammer.
Geto was with her. I smiled at both of them.
"So, do you have to play bodyguard now?"
Geto sighed.
"Actually, yes."
Riko pouted and kicked his foot.
He winced in pain and held his foot up, "OUCH! What was that for?"
She stuck her tongue out, "For sounding like you don't want to be my bodyguard."
I laughed, holding my stomach from laughing. They both looked at me dumbfounded and then laughed along. As I slowly calmed down, I wiped away the tears that rolled down my cheeks from laughing.
I took a deep breath, "Oh, that was funny. But anyway, Riko, are these your own barriers you've created?"
She put her hands on her hips, closed her eyes, and nodded proudly, "Yes! First, I imbued the needles with curse energy, and then I placed a curse on a leaf for the barrier using a special ritual!"
I grinned at her, "Very good, you're getting better and better!"
She giggled lightly, "Heeheeheehee."
Geto looked skeptically at the needles, "What kind of curse?" Sh
She hammered in more, "Unauthorized members of the Jujutsu Academy can't enter and will be electrically repelled, and then I'll be alerted, and depending on the situation, we might need to check if it's a threat."
I stretched, "Great, and I have to erect Tengen's barrier on the other half."
She grinned broadly, "Have fun crawling on the ground like I did."
I waved my hand amusedly and made a playful face, "No, no, because there's a technique to set up all the barriers in place with one blow."
Geto looked at me incredulously, "But... but..."
Riko reacted horrified and stood up, "But that means I've been doing all this for four hours for nothing!"
I chuckled amusedly, "Yep there was a much easier way !"
She looked at me dumbfounded and sighed, letting her arms hang loosely. "Well, never mind, I did it with love."
I grinned and held out my hand.
"Give me your hand if you want to watch me perform the ritual."
Her eyes lit up. "Really?"
Geto looked like he couldn't care less, but when he saw Riko, he scratched his head.
"Yeah, okay, why not."
I smiled, and I could swear I saw his ears turn slightly red. They gave me their hands, and we teleported to the center of the Jujutsu Academy. In the center of the Jujutsu Academy were the teacher's rooms, classrooms, and training grounds. The sun was shining beautifully today. I raised my arms and closed my eyes, concentrating my cursed energy and the barriers given to me by Urahara from Tengen.
The surroundings darkened immediately as a reversal occurred through my powers.
My ice powers shot up into the sky, and I heard Riko say in amazement, "Wowwww, how beautiful."
At a sufficient height, the ice dispersed in different directions like beams of light, forming a cloak.
I crossed my fingers in front of me and recited the formula to complete the ritual, "Good for good, evil for evil, protect us!"
There was a loud bang, signaling that the barrier was complete. The surroundings brightened again.
Riko clapped her hands, "Wow, I'm amazed; your ice abilities are truly breathtaking."
I grinned at her. "Thank you."
Geto nodded, "I agree with her."
Riko asked, "Do you have anything else to do?"
I nodded annoyed, "Yes, a lot of paperwork and then a few classes to teach."
She pouted, "Oh, I thought we could spend time together."
I grinned at her and signaled with my eye to Geto. She blushed, and I laughed, teleporting quickly away to the office. I was startled to see Gojo in the office, looking pensive.
"What are you doing here?"
He turned his head to me. Today he wasn't wearing anything around his eyes, just a T-shirt with a leather jacket and jeans.
"I was bored, so I'm hanging around the academy."
I looked at him annoyed, "Then help with the work for the competition."
He yawned, "I have to focus on more important things."
I raised my eyebrows, "And what would that be?"
He just shrugged and didn't give me an answer. I settled into my office chair and stared at the documents in amazement, then at Gojo.
"what the fuck?-"
He had actually done all the paperwork for me!
I looked at him with my mouth agape, "Why did you do that? That must have been a lot."
He looked at me with a glint of sadness in his eyes, but I couldn't tell if it was because of Megumi or Toji.
He approached my desk and leaned closer to my face.
"It wasn't work for me, and besides..."
I looked at him confused.
Besides what?
He continued, this time with a different spark in his eyes, "Besides, I'm doing it as thanks for your existence."
He said the last part quieter, but I understood him. Now he completely confused me. He leaned back and went to the door, then out. He left me completely bewildered.
