i. secret kisses
Mia had gotten home two days later due to Tony insisting on her staying at the tower for a full medical evaluation.
So now when Mia walked into her apartment, the lights were already on, which brought a smile to her face.
"Honeys, I'm home!" She joked as she walked into the living room only to be tackled with hugs.
She humphed at the action, almost falling to the floor from their strength but was held up by the tightness of their hold.
"Miss me?" She asked rhetorically, already knowing the answer.
They all nodded, refusing to let go of her.
"Are you okay? Any broken bones? Bruises? Oh, I'll just heal you, here," Kol started before biting into his wrist.
Mia chuckled as she moved his wrist away from her face, "I'm fine, Kol. Stop worrying so much."
Kol looked at her with a stupid look on his face, "Stop worrying? Darling, I thought you were dead!"
"Didn't Friday tell you I was still breathing?" She asked, glancing down at the other siblings who had still refused to let go of her.
"Well, yeah but-"
"Kol, I promise you that if I'm still breathing, I will come home. Besides, some stupid doctors can't kill me, I'm way too talented. And Tony just gave me two weeks off so I'm not going anywhere for a while."
"Really?"
She nodded as she held out her free hand. Kol sighed before grabbing onto it. With his strength, he pulled out of the hold of his siblings and into his own.
His siblings groaned at the loss of touch, "Stop hogging her, Kol."
"Fuck off, she's mine."
"She's ours," Klaus corrected as he pulled Mia back into his arms.
"But she likes me the most," Kol boasted.
Elijah glanced at them, "Actually she loves me so..." He trailed off before speeding Mia into his arms.
Rebekah rolled her eyes, "Love, which one of us is your favourite?"
The Avenger's eyes widened at the question, "Favourite? I- I don't have a favourite."
"Sure you do!" Klaus told her, "It's me, right?"
Mia sighed, "Alright, that's it. Everyone get in a corner and shut up."
When they went to protest she glared at them, "I will get duct tape."
They sighed before moving into separate corners silently. Mia smiled, "You sure you aren't all dogs? Cause you seem pretty obedient to me..."
They all rolled their eyes.
"I am not a dog," Kol argued as he crossed his arms.
"Hm? You look like you'd be a shih tzu. Doesn't he?"
The young Mikaelson rolled his eyes as his siblings nodded, "Bloody hell."
"What kind of dog is Nik then?"
"A poodle. Bex is a golden retriever and Lijah... is a german shepherd."
"A bloody poodle? I am not a goddamn poodle!"
They all glanced at each other before consecutively nodding, "Definitely a poodle."
— — —
"So, what are you going to do now?" Rebekah asked as she handed Mia a fresh cup of coffee.
Mia shrugged, "Stay with you. I kinda have to follow you wherever you go so..."
"I believe it is the other way around. I don't think me or my brothers will ever leave you. We will follow you wherever you want, even if it's New York. God, that place is dirty."
The Avenger grinned, "It's... It's not that bad."
Klaus walked in before sitting beside her, "It definitely is, Deyja."
"Well... I mean the tower isn't dirty. Except for when Clint decides to throw a prank war but other than that... I mean I did see a rat the size of a small child once but..."
"Really?" Kol asked as he took the other seat beside her.
"Mhm. It's nice though, it feels like home there."
"Then we'll go there," Elijah told her as he stood across from her, beside Rebekah.
"Really?" She asked with slightly wide eyes. "Don't you want to stay here? At least for a little while?"
"Stay in this dreadful town? Definitely not. We're going wherever you go, darling. I think we'd even go to the Arctic if you asked us to."
— — —
Mia stared out the glass of the elevator as she watched the ground grow farther and farther.
"How high does this thing go up?" Kol asked as he watched the numbers keep going up.
She and the Mikaelsons had arrived in New York and were now on their way to the penthouse in the tower where they would meet Mia's family.
It was safe to say the Mikaelsons were nervous.
"Do you think Thor will be here again?" Klaus asked.
Mia shrugged, "Maybe. Why? You like Thor more than me?"
"He is a very attractive man," Kol teased, causing the woman to chuckle, "He is a god after all. You should see Loki."
Suddenly, green smoke appeared in the elevator before a man stood tall in front of Mia, "Mortal. I heard my name."
Mia smiled as she pulled the man into a hug, "Hey, Loki. I thought you were in Asgard?"
"Asgard has fallen, dear Mia. I'm afraid I will not be able to take you there for your birthday."
"Her birthday?" Rebekah asked.
Loki nodded, "That is why you're here, right? For Mia's birthday?"
"It's your birthday?" They asked with wide eyes.
Loki glanced at them, "She didn't tell you?" He asked before looking back at the girl, "You didn't tell them?"
Mia shrugged, "I didn't think it was important."
"You're 23! Of course it is important. Besides, you know what that means."
Elijah glanced at them, "What does that mean?"
"It means she gets a new stock of slightly diluted Asguardian vodka."
"So while your planet was being attacked you thought about bringing me booze?" Mia asked with a chuckle. "You need to sort out your priorities, Loki."
"Well, if I didn't you wouldn't be able to get drunk, now would you?"
Mia grinned, "I don't know if it's a good idea getting me drunk again."
The god smirked as he wrapped his arm around the human, not seeming to care about the looks he was receiving from the Mikaelsons, "Oh, yes. I seem to recall you fighting Steve in lingerie last time."
The vampire's eyes widened but before they could ask, the elevator door opened and Mia slipped out.
"Oh, thank god," She mumbled as she walked away and into the common room.
"Tones?" She asked out loud as she walked into the room that appeared to be empty only for the team to pop out from the couches.
Mia didn't even flinch, though the Mikaeslons did.
"Come on! Really?" Clint yelled annoyed. He had been trying to scare Mia for the better part of five years yet he had not been successful once.
Mia chuckled as she moved to embrace the older man, "Missed you too, buddy."
Wanda used her magic to throw Clint away before embracing the girl, "Who's the hotties behind you?"
"Loki?" Mia joked, causing the Mikaelsons to roll their eyes.
"With his greasy hair? No."
"My hair is not greasy!" The god yelled angrily before stomping off.
The Avengers chuckled at the gods' antics before taking their turns hugging one of their youngest.
Tony, being dramatic as ever, was the last one to hug her. "You got one more in you for your dear old dad?"
Mia shrugged, "I don't know. We both know I don't like hugs."
He rolled his eyes, "Shut up, kid. Get in here," He told her as he held out his arms.
The girl smiled as she wrapped her arms around his frame.
"You're never allowed to scare me like you did again, okay? You're grounded and no more alcohol for a week!"
Mia pulled back, "The fuck?"
"Don't you swear at me, child. You gave me a heart attack and I don't even have a heart."
"So dramatic," Mia whispered under her breath, "Besides, Loki just brought me new vodka. You can't possibly ground me when you know I get so entertaining when I'm drunk."
"Fine. One night- but only because you're entertaining. Now, why are these people staring at you like you're their life source? It's kinda weird."
Mia's green eyes widened. She had forgotten about them, "Right. Team, this is Kol, Rebekah, Klaus and Elijah. You four this is the Avengers, introduce yourselves there are far too many of you."
She told them before sitting next to Wanda who smirked at her, "Four? Damn, Mia. No wonder you didn't sleep with me, you're already set for life."
Bucky smirked as well as he moved to sit next to them, ignoring the glare that Klaus was sending him. The hybrid had recognized him from the art show.
"Why is blondie looking at me like he's going to kill me, doll?"
Mia glanced at Klaus and sent him a quick glare which caused him to back off before looking back at Bucky, "Long story short. Soulmate. Watched you kiss me at the art gala. Jealousy issues."
"Super," He muttered, glancing back at the Mikaelsons who now all stared at him with the same look. "They're going to kill me, aren't they?"
"I'll protect you," She teased him.
He chuckled, "So. How's vampire sex? Bet it's good, you know, super speed and everything."
"Oh my god," Wanda muttered, face palming as she stared at the super soldier, "They have super hearing, you know? You are just walking towards your death, Bucket."
"Oh, shut it, Magic Fingers. They'll love me. I'll even give them tips on how to get our little Mia. She's a switch," He spoke, directing the last part to the Mikaelsons who still watched them.
Mia blushed brightly, "How do you even know that?"
"Remember... What was his name? Jack? No... Tommy! Yeah, he and I talked a lot."
Her eyes widened slightly, Tommy was a past fuck buddy. She had actually forgotten about him. "Tommy? You had friends?"
"I still do, dollface."
"Other than Steve, who?"
"I- Wanda?"
"Don't look at me."
"You?"
Mia shook her head, "Sorry, Bucknasty. You just don't fit the credentials."
"I need credentials to be your friend?"
"Yeah, of course you do. First of all, you're far too stupid and second of all your very annoying and complain too much."
"You complain just as much as me! Friday! Bring up the statistics on how many times me and Mia have complained."
"Mia has complained 47% of the time," She paused causing Bucky to smirk, "See."
"And you, Mr. Barnes have complained 89% of the time."
Mia smirked, "See. You're annoying, Buck. Face it."
The older man rolled his eyes, "I hate you."
"Oh, you love me, Bucky. We all know it."
"Debatable, doll."
— — —
"So, what do you think of the family?" Mia asked as she and the Mikaesons walked out of the elevator and onto her personal floor.
"They're certainly interesting," Elijah told her as he glanced around the large room which was apparently all hers.
Kol looked around in amazement, "This is all yours? Why the bloody hell were you living in that shoe box when you could have been living here?"
"Because I liked it there, not so much anymore but... So there are three rooms, three beds. We'll have to double up."
"I call dibs on Mia's bed!" Kol yelled quickly before his siblings could.
"No way!" Rebekah yelled back.
"If anyone gets to sleep with Mia it's me!" Klaus shouted, as his eyes glowed a bright yellow.
Mia sighed as she leaned into Elijah's side, "I'll show you your room," She whispered into his ear before they snuck away from the other siblings who were still arguing.
The older Original smiled as he let her lead him into a bedroom. It was much nicer than the one in Mystic Falls. There were actual decorations and colour in it rather than the dim grey walls and plain white bed.
Instead, her bed was a taupe colour with a burnt orange throw blanket on top. The walls here white which made the room glow in the bright light of the sun which gleamed through the wall of windows.
On the wall to his left, there was a mass amount of polaroids of Mia and the team. Pictures of Wanda levitating the girl with her magic and the first time she picked up Thor's hammer. Yeah, Mia found out she was worthy just before Ultron attacked.
Thor was in for a shock but she reassured him she could barely find out what she wanted for breakfast let alone run a kingdom so his worries were put to rest.
There was another picture of the time she and Bucky ran down a street in their underwear. Both of them had been severely drunk on Asgardian beer and were dared by Natasha and Wanda.
Elijah's eyes glanced over her frame which was only covered in deep red lace underwear. He swallowed deeply at the sight before looking away.
Mia noticed but chose not to say anything, "It's a king so it should fit two people. The other ones are queens so you four will have to take turns I guess."
"What about you, Elskan?"
"I'll be sleeping on the couch," She told him, not understanding why he was asking or why he looked so shocked by her answer.
"The couch? Nonsense, you will be sleeping on your own bed. With me, hopefully."
"You- You want to sleep with me?"
He blushed slightly before smirking, "One day, yes. Though I would like for you to trust me wholly before then. Now, I am merely suggesting we share a bed. Unless you say otherwise."
Mia breathed out as he walked closer to her, placing his hands on her arms, "You are my soulmate, Elskan. I will never do anything to make you feel uncomfortable. Ever."
"You always know what to say," She whispered as she loosely wrapped her hands around his waist.
"It's a soulmate thing," He shrugged as he basked in her touch.
"No. It's an Elijah thing. We all know Kol never knows what to say," She joked as she pulled him a little closer, glancing down at his lips before looking back up at his eyes.
Those eyes. God, she could practically get lost in them. All she could do in that moment was get lost in their darkness. It was like a black hole, pulling her in behind the mysteries and into the true wonders behind his mask.
"What's going on in that pretty head of yours?" He asked softly.
She smiled up at him, his words knocking her out of her trance, "Just thinking about how beautiful you are."
"Beautiful?" Elijah asked, a small pink blush coating his cheeks. He had never been called such a thing. "You think I'm beautiful?"
"Mhm. My beautiful boy," She told him as her fingers moved up to intertwine behind his neck, playing with the short hairs on his nape.
His voice stuttered as he spoke once more, "Yours?"
"If you'll have me," She responded, glancing down at his lips as she stood up on her toes. "Will you have me, Elijah?"
Instead of answering, he ducked his head down, capturing her lips in a soft kiss.
He moved back quickly, "I'm sorry-" He started only for Mia to grab onto his belt, pulling him closer before smashing her lips against his once more.
"You have nothing to apologize for," She told him against his lips.
He listened as her lungs slowly lost air, waiting till the last moment possible before pulling away and resting his forehead against hers, "That was..."
"Perfect," She finished, smiling as she stared into his eyes once more.
Snapping out of his Mia-filled-haze, his eyes widened slightly, "My siblings-"
"Didn't hear a thing. Our rooms are sound proof even to vampires," She answered, already craving for his lips to be on hers once more.
"Can I kiss you again?" He asked breathlessly, his breath fanning over her skin as he held her waist close to him.
She grinned, "You don't have to ask," She told him before placing her lips against his once more.
