Frodo and Sam run out of the exploding cracks. They find temporary refuge from the lava on an outcropping of rock. Frodo and Sam stand on a sinking rock in the river of lava flowing from Mount Doom. Frodo lets out a sigh of relief, "It's gone. It's done." Sam turned his exhausted head over to him, "Yes, Mister Frodo. It's over now." Lava flows around the hobbits. The hobbits fall back as the mountain shakes. Frodo smiles and closes his eyes, "I can see the Shire... the Brandywine River... Bag End... Gandalf's fireworks... the lights in the Party Tree."
"Rosie Cotton dancing. She had ribbons in her hair. If ever I was to marry someone, it would've been her," Sam expressed before he started to cry, "It would've been her." Frodo embraces him, "I'm glad to be with you, Samwise Gamgee, here at the end of all things." Three Eagles appear in the sky over Mount Doom, one carries Gandalf. The birds scoop up the hobbits and carry them away. Leaving the remnants of Mount Doom to fall and encased in lava making it uninhabitable for anyone; destroying the power of Middle Earth's greatest evil.
Frodo wakes up in a soft bed. He sits up and sees Gandalf for the first time since Moria. Frodo smiles and laughs, "Gandalf?" The two continue to laugh for the sake of feeling joy after so much destruction and death, the action easing them completely. Merry and Pippin enter the room and run to Frodo practically leaping onto the Hobbit. Gimli enters, waving his arms. "Gimli!" Frodo exclaimed with a wide smile receiving a laugh from the Dwarf. Legolas and Maristela follow in behind him with their arms linked. "Mari?" Frodo breathed out with a smile, he never thought he'd see her again. "Welcome back, Frodo," Maristela replied to him.
Aragorn entered the room next with a grin upon his face, they had all cleaned up and healed from the war. Sam enters last, exchanging a knowing look with Frodo. The Fellowship spend their time sharing their stories with one another, Maristela stood in front of Legolas with her back to his chest. Her heart felt whole in this very moment and she knew that things would be different now but she didn't care because she had a loving family, an amazing partner and all the power she needed to survive any threat that came her way.

Months had gone by and peace had covered the lands, the ones who were lost to the dark days had been buried and honoured. And now, Atop of Minas Tirith, a crowd fills the courtyard. Gandalf places a crown on Aragorn's head, "Now come the days of the king. May they be blessed." Aragorn turns to address the crowd, "This day does not belong to one man but to all. Let us together rebuild this world... that we may share in the days of peace." The crowd, which includes a healed Faramir and Éowyn, applauds.
Aragorn walks slowly down the steps as he sings, "Et Eärello Endorenna utúlien. Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar tenn' Ambar-metta. (Out of the Great Sea to Middle-Earth I am come. In this place will I abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world.)" The king is greeted by Faramir and Éowyn, King Éomer, and then Legolas, who stands with a group of elves. Legolas and Aragorn place their hands on each other's shoulders. "Hannon le. (Thank you.)" Aragorn says to Legolas who smiles before he steps aside to reveal Elrond and Arwen.
Maristela, who had been standing by Gandalf, slowly approached Legolas whose eyes hadn't let her as he admired the golden dress she wore. Maristela placed her palm in Legolas' outstretched hand, he pulled her closer to him and they turned to Aragorn. As Aragorn stands amazed, Elrond motions Arwen towards him. Aragorn grabs Arwen and kisses her. At last the king comes to the four hobbits of the fellowship, who bow to him awkwardly. "My friends! You bow to no one," Aragorn, followed by everyone else present, bows before the hobbits.

Soon the time had come for everyone to go their separate ways. And even if it was only thirteen months, the Fellowship weren't sure they were going to like being apart. With Gondor ruled by the rightful King, his Queen by his side, peace spread through the lands and any remaining Orcs were slain upon sight. Gimli had offered to share the news of Moria to King Dain on behalf of Maristela so she could accompany Legolas back to Mirkwood to see the trees of old return to their original Greenwood. The three had agreed to meet again soon with plans to continue their own hunt for the remaining Orcs who may desire an uprising in power.
With Théoden joining his ancestors in the halls of his forefathers, the rule of Rohan went to Èomer who had Èowyn and Faramir by his side. They had Edoras to rebuild so the Fellowship had wished them farewell earlier than most. Truthfully, Maristela did not want to leave Minas Tirith but she knew it was time to go her own way and leave Aragorn to be the King he was born to be. Their farewell had been one of many tears and promises to stay in touch with each other as much as possible. Legolas had pulled Maristela away from Aragorn as Arwen did the same with Aragorn.
Maristela and Legolas had made their journey to Mirkwood, the two were quick to announce their courtship and King Thranduil had organised a large celebration for it. However, Thranduil had intentions to leave for the Undying Lands while Legolas and Maristela did not. They did wish to go one day but right now, they were still needed on the soil of Middle Earth. Thranduil was sad to hear this, the formerly stoic Elf King had softened with his age but he understood their decision and supported it. And when the day came that Thranduil left for Valinor, Legolas and Maristela had been there to see him off.

The young Hobbits were the last to leave the White City, the four companions had taken their time in returning to the Shire having visited all of the sights they hadn't previously been able to enjoy. The four Hobbits ride into Hobbiton. They ride past a grumpy old Hobbit and smile his way causing the old Hobbit to shake his head at the four adventurers. But they paid him no mind as they finally reached the home they had been raised in though it was the journey that truly helped them grow.
Later that night at the Green Dragon, the four hobbits sit down for a drink. Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin pause to look at each other, then raise their mugs. Sam notices Rosie Cotton. Rosie gives Sam a smile. Sam takes a drink from his tankard, then stands up and walks deliberately towards her. The other hobbits watch on in amusement knowing exactly what his next move was going to be. Frodo, Pippin and Merry shared an amused laugh as they continued to enjoy their drinks.
Only a few months passed before Sam and Rosie stood together on their wedding day. Rosie throws her bouquet, which is caught by Pippin. Pippin catches the eye of a hobbit woman next to him. In the time of his return, Frodo had been writing out his journey in the very book that contain Bilbo's story 'There and Back Again... a Hobbits tale'. And he had finally finished writing it. Frodo flips to the front of the Red Book. He adds a second title to the front page. Sam enters Bag End. Frodo winces and grabs his shoulder. "Mister Frodo? What is it?" Sam questioned in concern. "It's been four years to the day since Weathertop, Sam. It's never really healed," Frodo told Sam with a slight frown.
Sam reads from the title page of the book, "'There and Back again, a Hobbit's Tale by Bilbo Baggins'... and 'The Lord of the Rings by Frodo Baggins.' You finished it!" Frodo closes the book, "Not quite. There's room for a little more." Gandalf's carriage pulls into Hobbiton with Maristela seated next to him. Frodo and Bilbo sit together in the carriage, age has clearly caught up to the older Hobbit who was leaning on his nephew. "Tell me again, lad, where are we going?" Bilbo asked Frodo. "To the harbour, Uncle. The elves have accorded you a special honour. A place on the last ship to leave Middle-Earth," Frodo answered him softly.
"Frodo, any chance of seeing that old Ring of mine again? Hmm? The one I gave you?" Bilbo asked Frodo who paused before responding, "I'm sorry, Uncle... I'm afraid I lost it." Bilbo lowered his gaze at his nephew's words, "Oh, pity. I should like to have held it, one last time." Bilbo leans on Frodo and falls asleep. Frodo sits and thinks. At the Grey Havens, the hobbits look out at the sea. "Oh! Here is a sight that I have never seen before," Bilbo exclaims in awe as Maristela smiles at him. Elrond, Celeborn and Galadriel stand next to a docked ship.
"The power of the three rings is ended. The time has come for the Dominion of Men," Lady Galadriel announced. "I Aear can vên na mar. (The sea calls us home.)" Lord Elrond tells Bilbo who smiles before embracing Maristela. "Meet we meet again, Master Baggins," Maristela whispered to him, the old Hobbit grinning up at her before he stepped back and turned to Elrond, "I think I'm quite ready for another adventure!" Elrond helps Bilbo onto the ship. Galadriel smiles at Frodo and then also boards. Maristela looked from the Lady before turning to Frodo who looked up at her, she bowed her head.
Gandalf turns to the hobbits and leans on his staff, "Farewell... my brave hobbits. My work is now finished." The hobbits start to cry as Gandalf continues, "Here at last, on the shores of the sea, comes the end of our Fellowship. I will not say, do not weep, for not all tears are an evil." Maristela took in a slow steady breath as she looked up at her father, a single tear fell down her face knowing it will be a very long time until they meet again -- If they meet again. Gandalf turns to his daughter and for a moment he saw that little girl running around with a sword twice the size of her, a giggle leaving her lips.
"My dear Maristela," Gandalf spoke as he approached her and wiped the tear from her cheek, "I am so proud to call you my daughter. You are my greatest blessing in my life. Live on for your husband and children, Maristela. Until we meet again." Maristela wrapped her father into her arms, she let her tears fall and tightened her grip when he hugged her back. "My precious Star," Gandalf whispered before kissing the side of her head, he stepped back and walked towards the ship before stopping and turning around, "It is time, Frodo."
The other hobbits turn to give a confused look at Frodo before Sam speaks, "What does he mean?" Frodo looked into Sam's eyes, "We set out to save the Shire, Sam. And it has been saved. But not for me." Sam begins crying again, "You don't mean that! You can't leave!" Frodo hands Sam the Red Book, "The last pages are for you, Sam." Frodo embraces each hobbit in turn, also kissing Sam on the forehead. He turns to Maristela who smiles before resting her hand on his shoulder, "I wish you all the best, Frodo Baggins. Keep an eye on your uncle and my father for me, yeah?" Frodo grinned with teary eyes before they hugged.
With Gandalf, Frodo walks onto the ship. Frodo turns and give a last smile at his friends. Frodo finally appears at peace. The ship sails out of the Grey Havens. Pippin and Merry turn away and head up the stairs while Sam watches the ship disappear in the setting sun. Maristela and Sam shared a teary smile before they went their separate ways. Sam returns to his wife and children in Hobbiton, a content smile upon his face as he lets all of the tension and sadness go. Sam enters the house and closes the front door.

Maristela rode her horse from the Grey Havens to the borders between Gondor and Rohan, she smiled as a familiar home came into view. She dismounted her horse, Delta and lead him into the stables leaving him to rest. The Elleth looked out at the large field before closing the gates behind her and walking up the stairs to the home, the moment she had opened the door, she was pounced on by two children. "Fili! Kili!" Legolas scolded as he stepped into the room, he smiled up at his wife but noticed the sadness hidden in them. "Are you okay, my love?" Legolas asked her. "I will be," Maristela replied before they shared a kiss.
They may have suffered a lot through their lives, the pain of loss and the fear of evil but in the end they had prospered through it. And Maristela got the happy ending she had dreamed of. She was happily married to the man she was in love with though her heart will always carry a place for her past love and she had two beautiful twin boys named after incredible people. The eldest was Fili Boromir Greenleaf and the youngest was Kili Attica Greenleaf. And another on the way that Maristela hopes is a little girl who will be named, Estelle Aelir Greenleaf; Named after Maristela and Legolas' mothers. The family was happy and Maristela wouldn't change any of it.
