Ever since Nicole Witwicky was a small kid, she had been showing her unapparelled intelligence and maturity. It was always a wonder how she did it. What they didn't know was that she was a sixteen years old soul, stuck in a body of a child.
Between the two siblings, Nicole was much more advanced than her brother, Samuel. When he would lay around laughing and babbling, Nicole would already be able to crawl. When her brother would crawl, Nicole would already be able to walk.
People would always mention how much more advanced the young girl was to other kids her age and every time, they would praise her. Nicole's parents were proud and surprised with how their daughter was already so mature and smart.
Her childhood seemed normal, the same repetitive routine that a child would experience. One day, when she was the age of six, she heard her parents talking to each other quietly. Nicole heard bits of the conversation but it was mainly about how they would go to London to meet with their grandfather which the young brunette was confused about.
She remembered that Sam didn't have a grandfather, well at least in the movie so she didn't know what to expect. Soon Nicole and her family were on the plane to London, to visit the one and only Edmund who was confusingly Sam and Nicole's grandfather. The family was currently driving to the manor. Nicole remembered in the Last Knight movie in her previous life how her brother ranted about the history of the Witwicky which he picked up on YouTube.
She glanced at her brother sleeping, his head against the window as soft snores escaped his mouth. " Nicky, why don't you wake your brother up sweety? " her mother asked, Nicole nodded as she gently shook her brother's shoulder to wake him up.
" Uhhhh five more minutes " he mumbled, which gave Nicole the idea to lightly pinched his nose. Soon Sam started to snort before waking up with a gasp, he glared at his sister, " What was that for? " he said.
Nicole just innocently looked at her brother though she was barely hiding her smile, " what do you mean Sammy? " she asked, and before Sam could say another word they already arrived.
Both siblings were awed by the castle-like manor, both were excited for Nicole it was more about getting a glimpse of Hot Rod or even meeting the sassy robot servant. Even though she wasn't a hard-die fan of the franchise, her brother's constant love for the robot movies made her appreciate the films later on.
The brunette girl hopped out as she already spotted the old man with his dog at his feet. Her mother was fussing over Ron, making him look presentable while Nicole giggled at her dad's grumpy expression.
" Ron, Jane pleasant to see you and I see you brought your children. How wonderful " Edmund knelt, looking at his grandchildren. With one look at Nicole's eyes, he could tell she was special as if her eyes held truth and knowledge.
" Sam, Nicole this is Edmund, think of him as your grandpa " Jane introduced as Sam was hiding behind his father's legs, seeing the older man made him nervous. Nicole was the opposite of that she walked up to him shake his hand, the older man was pleased with his granddaughter's manners, " I'm Nicole, nice to meet you Grandpa" she smiled.
" Seems like this little one has manners, now let's head inside " Nicole and her family soon followed the elderly man inside the mansion. Nicole had never experienced being inside a home quite like her grandpa, in this life or her old one. The place looked what Nicole expected from a typical, old-fashioned mansion with over 100-year-old chandelier and paintings covering almost every inch of the wall.
" Now these are your room children, me and your parents will have tea in the gardens " Edmund left giving the siblings the chance to explore the room before them. The children's room was filled with toys and had a big TV playing some random kids' show.
A couple of hours passed and the older twin was bored gazing at the window, she wanted to go out and explore.
Nicole briefly glanced at her younger brother who was busy watching the television in the room as the young brunette sneakily left her room. She hoped to see the Autobot living on the mansion grounds or the library full of the transformer's history and secrets.
Nicole gazed around as she wandered Edmund's home, her tiny feet carried her throughout the maze-like building. She admired the many portraits and decorations around the hall, heading down the stairs, she ended up in the dining hall.
Countless priceless glasses and silverware were placed on the Mahoney table as the chandelier glistened from the afternoon glow. Heading to the lower level of the building, unknowingly to the kitchen basement.
She heard someone singing as she headed towards the door, sneaking into the kitchen, to her surprise was the Edmund robot butler, Cogman. He was moving around the kitchen which presumably Nicole thought that he was preparing for the evening meal.
Sneaking in the kitchen, her tiny feet were silent as she felt the nerves of her body lit up with excitement, seeing a cybertronian that she remembered from the movies. It was a surreal experience seeing a fictional character in real life, nonetheless a robot butler.
Cogman was preparing for his master and guest meals, a pleasant lambchop and a side of vegetables fresh from their gardens. He caught a glimpse of the Witwicky's when they were touring the place. His first impression was that he wasn't impressed, especially the son who was touching some of the priceless vases with his grubby fingers.
Luckily the mother lightly scolded her son but the daughter was looking at the portraits, Cogman almost imagined that the little girl was admiring the painting for what it was, it was a little unnerving how little mature the six-year-old acted. The robot butler was finished with the garnishes and now was preparing for the desserts, little did he know of a certain Witwicky child behind him.
Nicole wanted to get a closer look but due to her child-like clumsiness, knocked down a wooden stool which somehow made the robot jump an inch into the air which reminded her of a cartoon character.
" Holy shit!" Cogman was startled by the young girl standing there who was blinking innocently at the robot. The bot butler looked at the young Witwicky girl who didn't seem bothered by his appearance, let alone that he was an alien robot.
" It's quite rude to stare you know or cuss " the young girl quipped as she wryly whispered the last part, as she sat down at one of the kitchen benches. Cogman didn't know if he could call the girl brave or stupid how calm she was acting, to be honest, it was a little bit startling and usually, he was a deranged one as others put it.
" Can I have a glass of milk please? " Nicole didn't know why she asked that but she was slightly thirsty from the mini adventure in the manor and she was already in the kitchen.
Cogman narrowed his optics at the girl as he served her a cup of warm milk and a plate of cookies on the table so extra caution if the girl tattled on her parents.
He did not want his master can bang on his helm again with his walking stick.
Nicole just stared at the bot while sipping her teacup, making the robot butler more nervous which was slightly humorous. " Now you must not tell anyone about what happened here or I will ... " he just realized that he was about to threaten a child.
He usually gave threats to the bots or people that Edmund wanted him to deal with but he had standards when it came to a child or members of his master's family.
Cogman internally groaned as he gave her a stern stare, the robot butler gave her cookies for primus sake to keep silent but Nicole already knew what he was trying to do.
" I won't tell anyone and besides I've always wanted a robot friend or a friend at least" she mumbled at the end but Cogman heard her. She hadn't told her parents about her school life as she tried to engage with her younger peers but it was difficult since the girl had a mature mindset and that often led to her being disinterested in kids playing or doing what any six-year-old child would do.
The robot butler groaned but he slowly wavered at the slightly sad look on the girl's face, " I'll be your friend here if you keep quiet about me " he warned but Nicole smiled happily as she left the kitchen since Cogman had to finish off the rest of the meals.
Cogman shook his helm, wondering if he would regret keeping that promise but what he wouldn't expect that he would do anything to protect her when she faced the threats in the future.
Later in the day, a Citroen DS drove quietly into the backyard of the manor where no one was around. The car slowly transformed as a bot stretched its form from being transformed into his car mode for awhile now. Edmund was distracting Nicole's family from going to where the bots were, unaware that one person would soon meet one of the family's secrets.
Hot Rod was ordered to hide around the other side of the manor after hearing about the Witwicky's coming to stay. The bot was curious about them since Edmund rarely talked or mentioned his family. Stayed near the woods around the manor, he had to keep out of sight or he'd face the wrath of Cogman and Edmund, for an old, frail man he can be pretty threatening.
Hot Rod spotted a tall oak tree which hid him well from the view of the mansion, he sat against the wood, unaware of a little figure watching him from above. Hot Rod hadn't seen his partner Bumblebee since the war so he remained Witwicky's protector and so far Edmund was the toughest Witwicky he had known.
Nicole was hiding in one of the branches in the trees, with a book in her hands, she managed to sneak one of the diaries about the Witwicans and the Transformers. She was minding her own business when she was startled to find the bot she was looking forward to finding the resting bot below her.
Against her better judgment, she leaned down to get a closer look unaware of the book falling off her lap. Nicole watched in horror as the book fell towards the bot's head, a small bonk sound could be heard. Hotrod jumped from the small impact of the book, and his helm slowly looked up to find a little girl looking down at him.
Nicole's mind stopped working as they looked at each other with stupified looks, the only thing coming out of her mouth was " ... Hi? "
