TW: Mentions of PTSD!
y/n sat on the couch in front of Dr. Raynor staring out the window while Dr. Raynor watched her waiting for her to say something.
"y/n, I know you don't like talking about your time in the Army, but you can't just keep it in." Dr. Raynor said tilting her head to the side.
"Why?" y/n asked turning her head to look straight at the woman.
"I was in the Army as well, y/n. I may not know exactly what you're feeling, but I know enough." Dr. Raynor said. "When I came back home I had nightmares, but what got me through it was talking to someone."
"They aren't just nightmares," y/n shook her head, "They're memories." Tears started to swell up, and she squeezed her eyes shut.
"Do you still keep in touch with any of your friends from the Army? You could try talking to them about your memories." Dr. Raynor suggested.
"Yeah, I meet up with a few of them everyone week or two and we all just catch up on each other's lives and stuff." y/n nodded wiping away her tears with her hand. Dr. Raynor reached out, and handed her a tissue which she accepted.
"Do you guys ever talk about when you were in Iraq?" Dr. Raynor asked while writing down in her notebook.
"Sometimes." y/n answered truthfully. "Only when one of us needs to though."
"I think it would be good if you bring it up with them next time you see them." Dr. Raynor said.
"I don't know, Doc." y/n trailed off.
"That's an order, y/n." Dr. Raynor said giving her a stern look. "Okay?"
"Yes, ma'am." y/n nodded. "Are we done for today?"
"We are." Dr. Raynor nodded. "I'll see you next week."
"See you next week." y/n stood up from the couch, and left the room. She walked down the hall looking down when she felt someone knock into her shoulder. "Shit." She turned to see a man staring at her with a hard look. "What?" She questioned when he didn't say anything.
"You're crying." He pointed out making her roll her eyes.
"No shit." y/n said rubbing her shoulder where she had ran into him. "God, what is your arm made out of? Steel?"
"Vibranium." He answered before walking off.
"Asshole." She muttered to herself.

"I'm here for Dr. Raynor." y/n said to the receptionist who was sat at the desk in the office where Dr. Raynor worked.
"y/n y/l/n?" The lady asked. y/n nodded in response. "She'll be with you soon."
y/n turned back, and saw Bucky sitting in a chair staring at her. She rolled her eyes before going to sit in the chair farthest from him. She had run into him a few more times since their first encounter. Most of them being at the office, but once was at a bar. She was drinking alone when he came in, and sat a few seats away from her. The two actually ended up talking for a couple hours.
"Has anyone ever told you that you have a staring problem?" y/n asked after feeling his eyes on her for longer than normal.
"Yes, actually." Bucky said. y/n looked up at him with an unamused expression to which he replied to with a close lipped smile. "But my friends are used to it."
"Well I'm not your friend, so please stop." y/n glared at him.
"I'm pretty sure we are." Bucky said. "I mean that night at the bar, you talked to me like I was your friend. Told me things I would only tell my friends."
"I was drunk, and I just needed to let it out." y/n huffed.
"Just admit that we're friends, y/n." Bucky said.
"Whatever." y/n rolled her eyes and looked away from him trying to hide her smile.

"You seem to be doing a lot better these past three weeks, y/n." Dr. Raynor said with a small smile.
"Yeah, I've been able to sleep a lot more." y/n said. "Some nights are still hard, but I don't think I'll ever be able to completely get rid of the memories."
"You won't." Dr. Raynor said with a heavy sigh. "But as long as you have a way of dealing with them you should be fine."
"I have found a way." y/n nodded.
"Do you mind telling me what that is?" Dr. Raynor asked. y/n hesitated not sure if she should tell her.
"I have someone who is there for me when I have bad nights." y/n admitted.
"James?" Dr. Raynor asked making y/n look at her confused.
"I'm sorry? What?" y/n questioned. "How do you-"
"I've seen progress in both of you recently, and he mentioned a girl who could relate to him in way." Dr. Raynor explained. "And he sits outside waiting for you after all of your sessions."
"You noticed that." y/n sighed.
"It's kind of my job." Dr. Raynor smiled. "I'll see you next week, y/n."
"Next week." y/n sent her a nod before walking out of the room. She left the office and saw Bucky sitting on a bench waiting for her.
"You're done already?" Bucky asked standing once he saw her. y/n nodded.
"Dr. Raynor and I were talking, and she brought you up." y/n said. Bucky eyed her confused.
"Yeah? Why?" Bucky questioned.
"She's noticed us hanging out." y/n said. "Did you mention me in one of your sessions?" She asked tilting her head to the side.
"Did Dr. Raynor say I mentioned you? Isn't that kind of stuff supposed to be between the doctor and the patient only?" Bucky asked slowly walking away to the car.
"You did mention me." y/n laughed. "What did you say?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." Bucky said walking faster away from her.
"I'm gonna find out sooner or later, Buck." y/n said. "Just tell me." She whined.
"I can't hear you." He said a little louder before getting in the car. y/n laughed and shook her head before walking to the car.
This actually turned out way better than I thought it would...yay :)
