Physical Description
Theo is a slender, medium height and blue-eyed girl with light skin. She has brown hair parted down the middle in what seems to resemble two pigtails. Eventually, she will ditch her pigtails style for a more updated look.

As such, Theo is commonly seen wearing a light brown long-sleeve shirt, a black leather jacket and black short-heel combat boots. As Theo gets comfortable around Auradon Prep and begins to mature, she ditches the black leather jacket and opts in for more brighter, pastel colors to resemble her playful personality.

Does your character suffer from any mental illness(es)?
No, so this section does not apply to her.

Does your character suffer from any disorders, if any? If so, list them.
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder/PTSD [soon/in Descendants 2] - A serious condition that can develop after a person has experienced or witnessed a traumatic or terrifying event in which there was serious physical harm or threat. PTSD is a lasting consequence of traumatic ordeals that can cause intense fear, helplessness, or horror {copied from Google}.

Does your character suffer from an allergy and/or allergies, if any?
No, so this section does not apply to her.

Does your character own any pet(s)? If so, list them.
Theo has one pet named Morph [gif shown below], a floating pink blob who originally belonged to her father, Jim. As a compromise for accompanying him to Auradon Prep, Jim Hawkins gave his daughter full ownership of Morph. As such, Theo and Morph are commonly seen together, never separated.

Relationship(s) with listed family member(s), if any:
Jim Hawkins - Having shared the same characteristics as her father and nearly being identical to the way he behaved in his youth, Theo has a natural and healthy daughter-father relationship, which only grows when Adira leaves and essentially abandoned the two.

The girl's relationship with Jim only strengthened when the two leave Montressor to United States of Auradon for her father's new job at Auradon Prep, where the father-daughter duo quickly realize just how out-of-place the two are.

Adira Westergaard [formerly Hawkins] - Theo was initially close to her mother but much like her father's experience, she and Adira began drifting apart as her mother stops displaying affection towards her.

In fact, Adira starts to become neglectful and often made comments about how much of a "nuisance" Theo was [slowly getting inside her head as her mother started emotionally abusing the girl]. Despite Adira's behavior, Theo deeply loved her mother and wanted to win back her affections.

However, Theo's relationship with her mother falls apart when Adira chooses to divorce Jim and abruptly leave without giving her daughter [or husband] so much as a second thought.

Because of this, Theo has been plagued with abandonment issues [since Adira left when Theo was young] and has yet to grow out of her rebellious state [though it's not so bad, given she has her father and Grandma Sarah, who helps her son keeps his daughter in line].

Sarah Hawkins - Theo often looks up to Sarah as a mother figure and shares a natural granddaughter-grandmother relationship with her. Although she is rebellious like her father was in his youth and rather mischievous, her grandmother helps keep Sarah in line [much like her father].

Leland Hawkins - Because her grandfather left her father when he was young, Theo has a nonexistent relationship with him. More so, she doesn't know anything about him nor does she want to know [as it's a sensitive topic for her father].

Hans Westergaard - to be developed [will update soon]

Esme "Demi" Aletta Westergaard - to be developed [will update soon]

Fleur "Fay" Kiki Westergaard - to be developed [will update soon]

Stefan Karl Hans Westergaard - to be developed [will update soon]

Larsen Kim Rene Westergaard - to be developed [will update soon]

Personality:
Feisty, rebellious and mischievous, Theo is known primarily for disregarding the rules as she tends to do things her way, much like how she usually tends to pick a fight with the authorities [which led to the girl getting arrested countless times and kicked out of five different schools].

Additionally, she may come off as 'brash' or 'excessively reckless' to others who don't know her, but in reality, this behavior stems from her being unable to cope with her mother abandoning the girl at a young age. As such, she may also come across as blunt or sarcastic in an effort to keep others away.

Deep down, Theo she does have a heart-of-gold but she has a hard time showing others, much like her father did in his youth. More so, Theo can act affectionate and caring to those she genuinely cares about, even becoming a loyal friend.

The girl also tends to be very protective of her friends and loved ones, especially Morph [who has been with the young girl throughout everything], quickly becoming distressed if any harm comes to the ones she cherishes.

Likes:
Adventure, freedom, space, riding her solar surfer, some chores, technology, mechanics, chasing her own dreams, music, pirates [as a toddler/this view will somewhat change in Descendants 2], going treasure hunting [as a kid/will somewhat change in Descendants 2], her family [including her pet, Morph] and friends.

Dislikes:
Rules, restrictions, dancing [but Chad gets Theo to warm up to the idea, so this might change in the future], being judged, betrayal, the mention of her mother, water-related activities, her friends and family [including her pet, Morph] in danger.

Parent(s) and their Legacy [i.e: parents' origin]:
Jim Hawkins; Treasure Planet

Brief overview on their legacy:
The legendary "loot of a thousand worlds" inspires an intergalactic treasure hunt when Jim Hawkins stumbles upon a map to the greatest pirate trove in the universe as Jim's fantastic journey takes him across a parallel universe as a cabin boy aboard a glittering space galleon [copied from Google].

Parent(s) Identification [AK, VK, neither]:
Neither. Her father is not a 'fairytale character' [which Auradon has strictly classified as royals or well-known 'fairytale' heroes], making him ineligible despite graduating from the Royal Naval Academy and serving as a commander of a Imperial portal ship [which is impressive in itself].

In spite of his accomplishments, Auradon Prep won't recognize her father as a 'fairytale character,' because Jim is deemed to be a 'lesser-known' hero [and not necessarily part of a fairytale as his legacy doesn't meet their requirements], meaning he doesn't exist in their records.

Auradon Kid [AK], Villain Kid [VK], Neither:
Despite attending Auradon Prep like the others, Theo is neither an AK or a VK because the girl is not a descendant from a 'fairytale character' [which is why she is known as a Wannabe AK as she doesn't fit the typical criteria].

Power(s) and/or Abilities:
None - she is human and doesn't possess any powers or abilities.

Strengths:
Intuitive Aptitude: Like her father [Jim Hawkins], Theo is known to be very intelligent and a quick learner. Additionally, Theo also possesses a impressive range of skill sets in areas of technology and mechanics, given how the girl built her own solar surfer [more information on solar surfers listed under 'mode of transportation'] all by herself when she was only eight years old [just like her father].

High Coordination: Much like her father, Theo has incredible coordination abilities when flying through the air by using her solar surfer. In fact, her coordination is so great she can evade obstacles in her path with amazing precision and without hardly any effort [as her father did].

Physical Strength and Agility: Since her father was a military cadet and attended space military academy in his youth [after the events her father endured in Treasure Planet], Theo possesses a rather impressive display of strength and agility [much like her father did in his youth]. Additionally, the girl has gained an additional knowledge of hand-to-hand combat, swordsmanship and/or marksmanship from her father, who taught his daughter how to defend herself.

Weakness(es):
Any mention of her mother - Similar to her father, Theo can't handle when anyone brings up her mother since it's a sensitive topic for her.

Short tempered - Theo can be angered very, very easily and as such, she tends to act with violence. She doesn't think firsthand, which has resulted in terrible consequences for the girl [as she's gotten kicked out of five different schools before attending Auradon Prep]. Although Theo has somewhat gotten better as she has gotten older, Theo can still have her violent outbursts.

Trust issues - Given her mother leaving her at a young age, Theo is reluctant to trust others and she's especially skeptical of forming close, intimate relationships with others because of these issues.

By acting brash and reckless, Theo is able to maintain control over how people perceive her but once she goes to Auradon Prep, she forces herself to get out of her comfort zone by making friends [as she had none back home] with the kids around her. While Theo has gotten better with trusting people, she can still occasionally push people away as a way to protect herself.

Swimming and/or any water-based activities - Theo is a poor swimmer and has a strong dislike towards water or anything related to water in itself. As such, she doesn't swim nor does Theo like canoeing. It is also likely that Theo would drown the moment she gets too deep [if the girl manages to go that far into the water].

Fears:
Aquaphobia - fear of water
Autophobia - Fear of being alone [copied from Google]
Fear of abandonment - stems from Theo's mother leaving her at a young age

Weapon(s):
None at the moment [will change soon]

Form of Transportation:
Solar Surfer [main form] - custom-built and/or custom-made Solar Sailors designed to be small enough to be carried and even used for fast transport when travelling from one distance to another faster than a light ship. Her father, Jim Hawkins, was a notable user and maker to Solar surfers [which is shown below].

Born in Montressor to Jim and Adira Hawkins, little Theo grew up on the coastal shores where the young girl spent her days listening to her father's stories of Treasure Planet and being surrounded by her parents.

For some time, everything seemed good.

However, she starts to feel a strain with her mother, who struggles to connect with her, given their vastly different personalities. As such, Theo's mother begins to neglect her, often leaving the girl to her devices. Adira also began dismissing Jim and found herself drifting away from her family.

So when Jim finds himself in the same situation as his mother and believes Adira isn't capable of being a mother or a wife, Adira doesn't hesitate in bringing up a divorce to end their troubles.

With Jim being given full custody of their only daughter, Adira leaves and doesn't give a second thought about the family she left behind, much to Theo's dismay, who tries to stop her, only to watch as her mother vanishes from view. Since the divorce, Theo has become a shell of the person she used to be.

As Theo grew older, she began to resemble her father's behavior in his youth in terms of displaying reckless behavior and general disregard to authorities. As such, she has been arrested countless times by police and kicked out of five different schools as a result of her behavior.

Hoping to help his daughter, Jim locates the two to Benbow Inn, where she meets her grandmother, Sarah Hawkins, who can already tell Theo is the "female version of her son." As such, Sarah is able to address Theo's behavior [given how her granddaughter's behaviors were similar to the way her son acted in his youth] and because of this, Theo starts to find a mother figure in her grandmother.

With Jim and Sarah's help, Theo slowly starts to change and address her old behaviors, but tends to fall back into her old habits. Believing his daughter needed a new change in scenery, Jim starts applying for jobs outside of Montressor when he spots a job position for a new mechanical teacher at Auradon Prep in the United States of Auradon [or USA for short].

Having faced several rejections already from multiple jobs, Jim doesn't see the harm in applying for the position and sends in his application. So when Jim gets in, he secretly accepts the job offer and agrees to start at the new term on the condition his daughter [Theo] can attend Auradon Prep alongside the other AK's.

After much consideration from the board [as Theo's criminal record and incidents with law enforcements weren't painting a optimistic picture of her], Jim is able to eventually appeal and the recruiter agrees to his terms on the condition that he keeps an eye on his daughter.

However when Jim arrives to tell his daughter the good news, she is less-than-thrilled, especially when Theo admits to punching Prince Chad Charming because of the way he was treating some of the guests at the inn. When the two talk the situation out alongside Theo's grandmother, his daughter eventually agrees to accompany him to United States of Auradon.

As a result, Jim decides to reward his daughter for being a good sport by permanently giving Theo full ownership of his pet, Morph, on her first day of school. Vowing to make her father proud and excited to have Morph accompany her, Theo makes a promise to turn start anew, not wanting to ruin her father's new career.

So when Theo indirectly bumps into Chad, she makes an effort to apologize and finds herself grateful that the boy chose not to press charges against her. However when he starts to mock her, Theo tries to be the better person by leaving. Yet when Chad makes the mistake of referring to the girl by her government name [Theodosia], she briefly forgets her promise and threatens to hurt the prince.

Unfortunately for her, Theo indirectly creates a scene and walks away in shame when she realizes that she let her father down.

Matters only get worse when Chad's parents [Cinderella and Prince Charming] get word of their son's harassment, resulting in Theo and her father [Jim Hawkins] being sent directly to deal with the aftermath of the girl's decision. Despite attempting to explain her side of the story, she is overpowered by the boy's parents [who are both royals and ultimately hold more of a influence].

So when the board threatens to expel Theo on the account of causing harm to one of their students, her father (naturally) comes to the girl's defense.

But when the board threatens to fire him from his acquired position as a mechanical teacher [since Auradon Prep doesn't condemn violence against their students and in supporting his daughter, Jim is also supporting his daughter's violent behavior], Theo begs the board to give her a second chance.

However, Chad's parents are still persistent that Theo be expelled from the school and sent to the Isle for her actions. But to the surprise of Theo and her father, Chad comes to her defense and agrees to let the matter go.

Begrudgingly, his parents reluctantly agree their son's decision, but because Cinderella and Prince Charming expect to see the girl punished, she is stuck with a month's worth of detention, performing community service around the school and required to attend Remedial Goodness 101 classes with Fairy Godmother, given how her actions weren't up to par with the standards set by Auradon Prep.

At first, Theo finds her Remedial Goodness 101 classes to be repetitive and ultimately pointless [especially since she's the only one there] until the young girl gets word of the VKs [Villain Kids] coming from the Isle.

As she's neither an AK or a VK, Theo doesn't seem to comprehend or even remotely care about the sudden shock of having the kids of four villains come attend the "prestigious" Auradon Prep.

So when the young girl gets the VKs in her Remedial Goodness 101 classes, Theo finds the required classes less boring, even getting on better terms with the new Isle kids [as she's about two weeks in prior to the start of the semester].

From there, Theo finds her time at Auradon Prep gets a lot more interesting, especially with her current [and future] semester coming along.

"Dad, I love you but I'm not going to some perky rich school surrounded by royal snobs who think they're better than everyone. Plus, I may or may not have punch Cinderella and Prince Charming's son, Chad Charming, in the face...."

"Heh. I guess I'm not the only one here making a scene. Villains at Auradon Prep, huh? This should be interesting."

"Call me Theodosia or Cabin Girl again, Chad, and so help me, I'll break more than just your nose like the day, I punched your face. So if you want to keep your face in tact, I would recommend keeping your distance from me."

"Morph? Morph! Now is not the time for playing hide-and-seek! Aha! I got you! ... Wait, no, you went back into hiding mode again. Ugh, Morph come back!"

"What about me, Mom? I was your world too! Did I not mean anything to you? Why couldn't you be there for me when I needed you most? I was a kid! A kid should be able to have a mother! A kid should know what it's like to have a mother's love! But then again, I guess you never were my mother, huh?"

"Oh come on. Have none of you heard of Jim Hawkins? He graduated from the Royal Naval Academy and served as a commander of a Imperial patrol ship! How do any of you not know who he is?"

"In my defense, Chad should be the one taking these Remedial Goodness 101 classes! If there's anyone that needs to be reminded of Auradon Prep's standards, it's him! Oh and Audrey too. She needs a lesson or two."

"Ha! ... Wait, you're not joking. Okay, well, how about no? I don't dance, Chad. It's just not my forte. Besides, there are plenty of other girls who just dying to be waltzed into a stupor."

1. Because Chad is such a one-dimensional character in the Descendants franchise and not much about him is explored, I've decided to give him a history with Theo. Initially, the two meet at Benbow Inn in Montressor where Theo was working as a Cabin Girl while Chad initially disguised his royal status.

In the midst of his arrival though, Chad makes a few careless comments and Theo [not knowing about his royal status or his parents] proceeded to punch him directly in his face as retaliation against the boy's behavior.

Only after he leaves does Theo learn she had punched Cinderella and Prince Charming's son [Prince Chad Charming] directly in the face. Theo doesn't think nothing of it... that is, until her father [Jim Hawkins] decides to relocate the two to Auradon Prep because of Jim's job as the new mechanical teacher.

So when Theo unwittingly encounters Chad, she owns up to her mistake and apologizes for punching him, grateful that he chose not to put charges on her.

However when he begins to mock her, Theo tries to be the bigger person in the situation but when the prince begins to refer to the girl by her government name [as she doesn't like being called Theodosia], she threatens to break more than his nose, which serves as the start of their rival/antagonist relationship with each other.

2. There is a possibility that Chad does like Theo [as she would be the first girl to defy him] and their relationship would become an enemies-to-lovers type of situation, but I'm not too sure if that's what I want to do.

3. Unrelated fact but Treasure Planet is a great movie and it is so underrated! Go check it out!

4. I chose to focus on creating a descendant from Jim Hawkins because one, the movie is awesome and deserves more love. Two, Jim Hawkins is criminally underrated male protagonist and y'all โ€” the possibilities of creating a character who isn't a natural fit for Auradon Prep is so fascinating to me and I just had to jump on the opportunity to give this movie some love.

5. There is also the possibility of Gil potentially serving as a love interest for Theo, but unlike her initial enemies-to-lovers approach with Chad, Theo and Gil would end up having a friends-to-lovers type of relationship.

6. Similar to Mal's relationship with her father, Hades, in Descendants 3, Theo will go through a similar experience of her own at the same time. The girl will encounter her mother, Adira Hawkins again on the Isle of the Lost while tagging along with Lonnie and the others.

To Theo's shock, Adira [who now goes by Westergaard as she dropped Hawkins after the divorce became finalized] is happily married to Prince Hans of the Southern Isles and shares five kids with him.

The idea of Adira happily moving on from her initial family [Jim and Theo] will end up infuriating the girl, especially when Theo sees how close her mother is to her new kids [as Theo never had a good relationship with her mother].

While her mother will try to apologize and attempt to make amends, Theo will be too heartbroken by her mother and feel as though Adira had "betrayed" her. As a result, Theo's relationship with her mother will worsened.

However, their relationship will slightly improve towards the end of Descendants 3 but unlike Mal, Theo won't forgive her mother and ultimately, she will cut Adira out of her life.

7. Theo is initially referred to as a "Wannabe AK" at the start of Descendants, given the fact her father [Jim Hawkins] isn't a royal hero [or even from a famous 'fairytale' that is recognizable by the students and staff].

In addition, because she's only able to attend Auradon Prep due to her father's position as one of the teachers, Theo comes across as a "charity case" to the students there, who feel they shouldn't be going to school with a "wannabe AK" like Theo [who doesn't meet the typical criteria, hence why she got her unwanted nickname].

8. The young girl will start being referred to as a "Wannabe VK" in Descendants later on [but specifically, this nickname becomes well-known to everyone during the events of Parents Day] when Theo is introduced to the VKs in her Remedial Goodness classes, no longer being alone [as she is required to take the course(s) as part of her punishment].

As she continues to hang out with the VKs, Theo indirectly gets expose to their mission when she goes to the museum and finds the guard [who she viewed as her best friend] spelled. So when Theo finds the VKs, she tags along on their quest to steal the wand as she initially doesn't feel connected to Auradon. Plus as she is neither an AK or a VK, she decides to stick with the "outcasts."

As such, she starts to feel somewhat guilty about stealing the wand when Theo makes friends with the AKs, but when she is given backlash during Family Day, she [much like the others] decide to fully commit to the plan.

When her father catches onto his daughter's scheme in stealing the wand, Jim tries to talk Theo out of making a terrible mistake. When she gets into an argument with her father and directly blames him for the move, Jim makes a comment that "he was only looking out for her best interests" which makes Theo realize how much her father has truly done for her.

Not wanting to disappoint her father any longer and determined to make things right with him again, Theo decides to have a change of heart and directly tells the VKs up-front that she's going to choose "to be good." By then though, Mal and the others will have a change of heart as well.

9. Because of her mother's relationship with Prince Hans, Theo is technically connected to the Frozen's fairytale since Prince Hans of the Southern Isles is popularly well-known as a rouge villain.

10. Though Theo's Post-traumatic Stress Disorder [PTSD] initially stems from the sight of her mother's abandonment, her condition was manageable as she had her father and grandmother to care for her.

However, after Theo is cornered, confronted and attacked by her father's old enemies [as the Isle of the Lost rebooted all of the villains, including past ones] while looking for Dion's little sister, Melody, her PTSD becomes activated after the events of Descendants 2 when the experience becomes integrated into her head.

Unfortunately, the young girl's PTSD gets activated again when she sees Adira with her new family in the midst of Descendants 3. As such, Theo begins to snap at her mother for abandoning her and her father when they needed her most.

Adira tries to calm her down by assuring her that she was always there for the two, but instead, each memory her mother brings up only intensifies the pain for Theo. When Theo is found by her pet, Morph, who calms her down, the two leave, but it's clear she will continue to feel the effects of her PTSD.
